Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the
remnant of this people in these
days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “If this is impossible in the eyes of the
remnant of this people in these
days, should it also be impossible in My eyes?” declares the LORD of Hosts.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Let your hands be strong, you who now hear these words spoken by the prophets who were present when the foundations were laid to rebuild the temple, the house of the LORD of Hosts.
For before these
days there was no
hire for man, nor any
hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the
affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.
For before those
days neither man nor beast received wages, nor was there safety from the enemy for
anyone who came or went, for I had turned every man against his
neighbor.
But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.
But now I will not treat the
remnant of this people as I did in the past,” declares the LORD of Hosts.
So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
“so now I have resolved to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those
days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the
skirt of him that is a
Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “In those
days ten men from the nations of every tongue will
tightly grasp the
robe of a
Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
Return to your
stronghold, O prisoners of hope; even
today I declare that I will restore to you double.
And the LORD their God shall save them in that
day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an
ensign upon his land.
On that
day the LORD their God will save them as the flock of His people; for like jewels in a crown they will
sparkle over His land.
And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
It was
revoked on that
day, and so the
afflicted of the flock who were watching me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
And in that
day will I make Jerusalem a
burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
On that
day, when all the nations of the earth gather against her, I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who would
heave it away will be severely injured.
In that
day, saith the LORD, I will
smite every horse with
astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will
smite every horse of the people with blindness.
On that
day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with
panic, and every rider with madness. I will keep a watchful eye on the house of Judah, but I will strike with blindness all the horses of the nations.
In that
day will I make the governors of Judah like an
hearth of fire among the wood, and like a
torch of fire in a
sheaf; and they shall
devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
On that
day I will make the clans of Judah like a
firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming
torch among the
sheaves; they will
consume all the peoples around them on the right and on the left, while the people of Jerusalem remain secure there.
In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
On that day the LORD will defend the people of Jerusalem, so that the weakest among them will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD going before them.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
So on that day I will set out to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
In that
day shall there be a great
mourning in Jerusalem, as the
mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
“On that
day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the people of Jerusalem, to
cleanse them from sin and impurity.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
And on that
day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will
erase the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered. I will also remove the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the prophets shall be
ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath
prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to
deceive:
And on that
day every prophet who prophesies will be
ashamed of his vision, and he will not put on a
hairy cloak in order to
deceive.
Behold, the
day of the LORD cometh, and thy
spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Behold, a
day of the LORD is coming when your
plunder will be divided in your presence.
Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.
And his feet shall stand in that
day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall
cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half the mountain moving to the north and half to the south.
And ye shall
flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:
yea, ye shall
flee, like as ye fled from before the
earthquake in the
days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
You will
flee by My mountain valley, for it will extend to Azal. You will
flee as you fled from the
earthquake in the
days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
On that
day there will be no light, no cold or
frost.
But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
It will be a day known only to the LORD, without day or night; but when evening comes, there will be light.
And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
And on that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the Eastern Sea and the other half toward the Western Sea, in summer and winter alike.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
On that day the LORD will become King over all the earth—the LORD alone, and His name alone.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that a great
tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
On that
day a great
panic from the LORD will come upon them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of one will rise against the other.
In that
day shall there be upon the bells of the horses,
HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the
bowls before the altar.
On that
day, HOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the
cooking pots in the house of the LORD will be like the
sprinkling bowls before the altar.
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be
holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and
seethe therein: and in that
day there shall be no more the
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
Indeed, every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take some pots and
cook in them. And on that
day there will no longer be a
Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
But who may
abide the
day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’
sope:
But who can
endure the
day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire, like a
launderer’s soap.
Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.
Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will please the LORD, as in days of old and years gone by.
Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?
Yet from the days of your fathers, you have turned away from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of Hosts. “But you ask, ‘How can we return?’
And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that
day when I make up my jewels; and I will
spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
“They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Hosts, “on the
day when I prepare My
treasured possession. And I will
spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.
For, behold, the
day cometh, that shall burn as an
oven; and all the proud,
yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be
stubble: and the
day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
“For behold, the
day is coming, burning like a furnace, when all the
arrogant and every
evildoer will be
stubble; the
day is coming when I will set them
ablaze,” says the LORD of Hosts. “Not a root or branch will be left to them.”
And ye shall
tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the
day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
Then you will
trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the
day I am preparing,” says the LORD of Hosts.
Behold, I will send you
Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and
dreadful day of the LORD:
Behold, I will send you
Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and
awesome Day of the LORD.
Now when Jesus was born in
Bethlehem of Judaea in the
days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
After Jesus was born in
Bethlehem in
Judea, during the time of King Herod,
Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,
In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,
In those
days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of
Judea And when he had fasted forty
days and forty nights, he was afterward an
hungred.
After fasting forty
days and forty nights, He was
hungry.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Give us this day our daily bread.
Wherefore, if God so
clothe the grass of the field, which to
day is, and to
morrow is cast into the
oven, shall he not much more
clothe you, O ye of little faith?
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here
today and
tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more
clothe you, O you of little faith?
Take therefore no thought for the
morrow: for the
morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the
day is the evil thereof.
Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Many will say to Me on that
day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not
prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the
bridechamber mourn, as long as the
bridegroom is with them? but the
days will come, when the
bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
Jesus replied, “How can the guests of the
bridegroom mourn while He is with them? But the time will come when the
bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.
Verily I say unto you, It shall be more
tolerable for the land of
Sodom and Gomorrha in the
day of judgment, than for that city.
Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for
Sodom and
Gomorrah on the
day of judgment than for that town.
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that
preach ye upon the housetops.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
But I say unto you, It shall be more
tolerable for Tyre and
Sidon at the
day of judgment, than for you.
But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and
Sidon on the
day of judgment than for you.
And thou,
Capernaum, which art
exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to
hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in
Sodom, it would have remained until this
day.
And you,
Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in
Sodom, it would have remained to this
day.
But I say unto you, That it shall be more
tolerable for the land of
Sodom in the
day of judgment, than for thee.
But I tell you that it will be more bearable for
Sodom on the
day of judgment than for you.”
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath
day through the corn; and his disciples were an
hungred, and began to
pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.
At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were
hungry and began to
pick the heads of grain and eat them.
But when the
Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath
day.
When the
Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”
Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath
days the priests in the temple
profane the sabbath, and are
blameless?
Or
haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and yet are innocent?
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
And, behold, there was a man which had his hand
withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to
heal on the sabbath
days? that they might
accuse him.
and a man with a
withered hand was there. In order to
accuse Jesus, they asked Him, “Is it lawful to
heal on the Sabbath?”
And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
He replied, “If one of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it and lift it out?
How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
For as
Jonas was three
days and three nights in the
whale’s
belly; so shall the Son of man be three
days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
For as
Jonah was three
days and three nights in the
belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three
days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea.
Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have
compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three
days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they
faint in the way.
Then Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, “I have
compassion for this crowd, because they have already been with Me three
days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away
hungry, or they may
faint along the way.”
And in the morning, It will be foul weather to
day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can
discern the face of the sky; but can ye not
discern the signs of the times?
and in the morning, ‘
Today it will be
stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to
interpret the appearance of the sky, but not the signs of the times.
From that time forth began Jesus to
shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and
scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third
day.
From that time on Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and
scribes, and that He must be killed and on the third
day be raised to life.
And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
And they shall kill him, and the third
day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding
sorry.
They will kill Him, and on the third
day He will be raised to life.” And the disciples were deeply
grieved.
And when he had agreed with the labourers for a
penny a
day, he sent them into his
vineyard.
And about the
eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the
day idle?
About the
eleventh hour he went out and found still others standing around. ‘Why have you been standing here all
day long doing nothing?’ he asked.
Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
‘These men who were
hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the
scorching heat of the
day.’
And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to
mock, and to
scourge, and to
crucify him: and the third
day he shall rise again.
and will deliver Him over to the Gentiles to be
mocked and
flogged and
crucified. And on the third
day He will be raised to life.”
But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to
day in my
vineyard.
But what do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first one and said, ‘Son, go and work
today in the
vineyard.’
The same
day came to him the
Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
That same
day the
Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and questioned Him.
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither
durst any man from that
day forth ask him any more questions.
No one was able to answer a word, and from that
day on no one
dared to question Him any further.
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
And you say, ‘If we had lived in the
days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in
shedding the blood of the prophets.’
And
woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give
suck in those
days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Pray that your flight will not occur in the winter or on the Sabbath.
And except those
days should be
shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the
elect’s sake those
days shall be
shortened.
If those
days had not been cut short,
nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the
elect, those
days will be cut short.
Immediately after the
tribulation of those
days shall the sun be
darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be
shaken:
Immediately after the
tribulation of those
days: ‘The sun will be
darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be
shaken.’
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
As it was in the
days of
Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
For in the
days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the
day Noah entered the ark.
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord
doth come.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come.
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
The master of that servant will come on a
day he does not expect and at an hour he does not
anticipate.
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
“You know that the
Passover is two
days away, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be
crucified.”
But they said, Not on the feast
day, lest there be an
uproar among the people.
“But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a
riot among the people.”
Now the first
day of the feast of
unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where
wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the
passover?
On the first
day of the Feast of
Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the
Passover?”
But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that
day when I drink it
anew with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a
thief with swords and
staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
At that time Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw? Every day I sat teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me.
And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
While
Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him this message: “Have nothing to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered
terribly in a dream
today because of Him.”
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three
days, save
thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three
days, save
Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”
Now the next
day, that followed the
day of the preparation, the chief priests and
Pharisees came together unto
Pilate,
The next
day, the one after Preparation
Day, the chief priests and
Pharisees assembled before
Pilate.
Saying, Sir, we remember that that
deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three
days I will rise again.
“Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was alive that
deceiver said, ‘After three
days I will rise again.’
Command therefore that the
sepulchre be made sure until the third
day, lest his disciples come by night, and
steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
So give the order that the tomb be secured until the third
day. Otherwise, His disciples may come and
steal Him away and tell the people He has risen from the dead. And this last
deception would be worse than the first.”
In the end of the sabbath, as it began to
dawn toward the first
day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the
sepulchre.
After the Sabbath, at
dawn on the first
day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
So the guards took the money and did as they were
instructed. And this account has been circulated among the Jews to this very
day.
And he was there in the wilderness forty
days,
tempted of
Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
and He was there for forty
days, being
tempted by
Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels ministered to Him.
Then Jesus and His companions went to
Capernaum, and right away Jesus entered the
synagogue on the Sabbath and began to teach.
