But
Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy
maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai
dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.
“Here,” said
Abram, “your servant is in your hands. Do whatever you want with her.” Then Sarai treated
Hagar so harshly that she fled from her.
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to
sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we
deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed
sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
“Get out of the way!” they replied. And they declared, “This one came here as a foreigner, and he is already acting like a judge! Now we will treat you worse than them.” And they pressed in on Lot and moved in to break down the door.
Now therefore
swear unto me here by God that thou
wilt not
deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast
sojourned.
Now, therefore,
swear to me here before God that you will not
deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.
Now if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; but if not, let me know, so that I may go elsewhere.”
And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
Then Jacob declared, “O God of my father Abraham, God of my father Isaac, the LORD who told me, ‘Go back to your country and to your kindred, and I will make you
prosper,’
Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath
dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it.
Please accept my gift that was brought to you, because God has been
gracious to me and I have all I need.” So Jacob pressed him until he accepted.
And they said, Should he
deal with our sister as with an
harlot?
But they replied, “Should he have treated our sister like a
prostitute?”
And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?
“Why did you bring this trouble upon me?” Israel asked. “Why did you tell the man you had another brother?”
And the time drew
nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my
thigh, and
deal kindly and truly with me;
bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:
When the time drew near for Israel to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, put your hand under my
thigh and promise to show me kindness and faithfulness. Do not
bury me in Egypt,
Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
Come, let us
deal shrewdly with them, or they will increase even more; and if a war breaks out, they may join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country.”
Therefore God
dealt well with the
midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.
So God was good to the
midwives, and the people multiplied and became even more numerous.
Then the officers of the children of Israel came and
cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore
dealest thou thus with thy servants?
So the
Israelite foremen went and appealed to Pharaoh: “Why are you treating your servants this way?
And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms of
flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to
morrow: but let not Pharaoh
deal deceitfully any more in not
letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.
“As soon as I leave you,” Moses said, “I will pray to the LORD, so that
tomorrow the swarms of
flies will depart from Pharaoh and his officials and his people. But Pharaoh must not act
deceitfully again by refusing to let the people go and sacrifice to the LORD.”
And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
and that you may tell your children and grandchildren how severely I
dealt with the Egyptians when I performed
miraculous signs among them, so that all of you may know that I am the LORD.”
And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us into the wilderness to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
Now I know that the LORD is greater than all other gods, for He did this when they treated Israel with
arrogance.”
If she please not her master, who hath
betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath
dealt deceitfully with her.
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who had designated her for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has broken faith with her.
And if he have
betrothed her unto his son, he shall
deal with her after the manner of daughters.
And if he chooses her for his son, he must deal with her as with a daughter.
But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt
deal with thy
vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
but in the seventh year you must let it rest and lie
fallow, so that the poor among your people may eat from the field and the wild animals may
consume what they leave. Do the same with your
vineyard and olive
grove.
And with the one lamb a tenth
deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an
hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an
hin of wine for a drink offering.

blemish, and one

unblemished male lambs, an
unblemished ewe lamb a year old, a grain offering of three-tenths of an

And if he be poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb for a
trespass offering to be waved, to make an
atonement for him, and one tenth
deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil;
If, however, the person is poor and cannot afford these offerings, he is to take one male lamb as a guilt offering to be waved to make
atonement for him, along with a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with olive oil for a grain offering, a log of olive oil,
Ye shall not
steal, neither
deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
You must not
steal. You must not lie or
deceive one another.
And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth
deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an
hin.
along with its grain offering of two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with oil—an offering made by fire to the LORD, a pleasing
aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter
hin of wine.
Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave
loaves of two tenth
deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be
baken with
leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
Bring two
loaves of bread from your dwellings as a wave offering, each made from two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour,
baked with
leaven, as the firstfruits to the LORD.
And thou shalt take fine flour, and
bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth
deals shall be in one
cake.
You are also to take fine flour and
bake twelve
loaves, using two-tenths of an
ephah for each
loaf,
And if thou
deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my
wretchedness.
If this is how You are going to treat me, please kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and let me not see my own
wretchedness.”
Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat offering of a tenth
deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an
hin of oil.
then the one presenting his offering to the LORD shall also present a grain offering of a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter
hin of olive oil.

unblemished year-old male lambs, accompanied by a grain offering of two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, as well as a drink offering.
And three tenth
deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one
bullock; and two tenth
deals of flour for a meat offering, mingled with oil, for one ram;

And a several tenth deal of flour mingled with oil for a meat offering unto one lamb; for a burnt offering of a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD.
and a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour mixed with oil as a grain offering with each lamb. This is a burnt offering, a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil: three tenth
deals shall ye offer for a
bullock, and two tenth
deals for a ram;
The grain offering shall consist of fine flour mixed with oil; offer three-tenths of an
ephah with each bull, two-tenths of an
ephah with the ram,
A several tenth deal shalt thou offer for every lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
and a tenth of an
ephah with each of the seven lambs.
And their meat offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth
deals unto one
bullock, two tenth
deals unto one ram,
together with their grain offerings of fine flour mixed with oil—three-tenths of an
ephah with each bull, two-tenths of an
ephah with the ram,
A several tenth deal unto one lamb, throughout the seven lambs;
and a tenth of an
ephah with each of the seven lambs.
And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth
deals for a
bullock, and two tenth
deals for a ram,
together with their grain offerings of fine flour mixed with oil—three-tenths of an
ephah with the bull, two-tenths of an
ephah with the ram,
And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
and a tenth of an
ephah with each of the seven male lambs.

ephah with the ram,
A several tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
and a tenth of an

ephah with each of the two rams,
And a several tenth deal to each lamb of the fourteen lambs:
and a tenth of an
ephah with each of the fourteen lambs.
But thus shall ye
deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their
graven images with fire.
Instead, this is what you are to do to them:
tear down their altars,
smash their sacred pillars, cut down their Asherah poles, and burn their idols in the fire.
And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
“Our lives for your lives!” the men agreed. “If you do not report our mission, we will show you kindness and faithfulness when the LORD gives us the land.”
Now therefore, if ye have done truly and
sincerely, in that ye have made
Abimelech king, and if ye have
dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands;
Now if you have acted faithfully and
honestly in making
Abimelech king, if you have done well by Jerubbaal and his family, and if you have done to him as he deserves—
if you have acted faithfully and
honestly toward Jerubbaal and his house this day, then may you
rejoice in
Abimelech, and he in you.
And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have
sinned: do thou unto us
whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.
“We have
sinned,” the Israelites said to the LORD. “
Deal with us as You see fit; but please deliver us
today!”
And he said unto them, Thus and thus
dealeth Micah with me, and hath
hired me, and I am his priest.
“
Micah has done this and that for me,” he replied, “and he has
hired me to be his priest.”
And
Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the LORD
deal kindly with you, as ye have
dealt with the dead, and with me.
Then
Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back, each of you to your mother’s home. May the LORD show you loving devotion, as you have shown to your dead and to me.
And she said unto them, Call me not
Naomi, call me
Mara: for the
Almighty hath
dealt very bitterly with me.
“Do not call me
Naomi,” she replied. “Call me
Mara, because the
Almighty has
dealt quite bitterly with me.
And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people.
“Why are you doing these things?”
Eli said to his sons. “I hear about your wicked deeds from all these people.
Therefore thou shalt
deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity,
slay me
thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
Therefore
deal faithfully with your servant, for you have brought me into a covenant with you before the LORD. If there is iniquity in me, then kill me
yourself; why should you bring me to your father?”
Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his
haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he
dealeth very
subtilly.
Please go and prepare further.
Investigate and watch carefully where he goes and who has seen him there, for I am told that he is extremely
cunning.
And thou hast shewed this day how that thou hast
dealt well with me:
forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered me into thine hand, thou killedst me not.
And you have shown this day how well you have dealt with me; for when the LORD delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me.
Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife
Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was
churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of
Caleb.
His name was Nabal, and his wife’s name was
Abigail. She was an intelligent and beautiful woman, but her husband, a Calebite, was harsh and evil in his
dealings.
That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath
avenged himself: but when the LORD shall have
dealt well with my lord, then remember thine
handmaid.
then my lord will have no
remorse or guilt of conscience over needless
bloodshed and
revenge. And when the LORD has
dealt well with my lord, may you remember your
maidservant.”
And he
dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a
cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a
flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
Then he distributed to every man and woman among the multitude of Israel a
loaf of bread, a date
cake, and a
raisin cake. And all the people departed, each for his own home.
And the king commanded
Joab and
Abishai and Ittai, saying,
Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with
Absalom. And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning
Absalom.
Now the king had commanded
Joab,
Abishai, and Ittai, “Treat the young man
Absalom gently for my sake.” And all the people heard the king’s orders to each of the commanders regarding
Absalom.
Then
Jezebel sent a
messenger unto
Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to
morrow about this time.
So
Jezebel sent a
messenger to
Elijah, saying, “May the gods
deal with me, and ever so severely, if by this time
tomorrow I do not make your life like the lives of those you killed!”
And Ben-
hadad sent unto him, and said, The gods do so unto me, and more also, if the dust of Samaria shall suffice for handfuls for all the people that follow me.
Then Ben-
hadad sent another message to
Ahab: “May the gods
deal with me, and ever so severely, if enough dust remains of Samaria for each of my men to have a handful.”
Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
No accounting was required from the men who received the money to pay the workmen, because they acted with
integrity.
And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and
dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced
sorcery and
divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger.
Howbeit there was no
reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they
dealt faithfully.
But they need not account for the money put into their hands, since they work with
integrity.”
And he
dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a
loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a
flagon of wine.
Then he distributed to every man and woman of Israel a
loaf of bread, a date
cake, and a
raisin cake.
And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so
dealt David with all the cities of the children of
Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
David brought out the people who were there and put them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes. And he did the same to all the
Ammonite cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem.
And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying, As thou
didst deal with David my father, and
didst send him cedars to build him an house to dwell therein, even so
deal with me.
Then Solomon sent word to
Hiram king of Tyre: “Do for me as you did for my father David when you sent him cedars to build himself a house to live in.
Yet if they
bethink themselves in the land
whither they are carried
captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have
sinned, we have done
amiss, and have
dealt wickedly;
and when they come to their senses in the land to which they were taken, and they
repent and
plead with You in the land of their captors, saying, ‘We have
sinned and done wrong; we have acted wickedly,’
And he
dealt wisely, and
dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every
fenced city: and he gave them
victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
Rehoboam also acted wisely by
dispersing some of his sons throughout the districts of Judah and Benjamin, and to all the fortified cities. He gave them abundant provisions and sought many wives for them.
And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of
Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you.
Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.
Note that Amariah, the chief priest, will be over you in all that pertains to the LORD, and Zebadiah son of
Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all that pertains to the king. And the Levites will serve as officers before you. Act
resolutely; may the LORD be with the upright!”
But the soldiers of the army which
Amaziah sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, fell upon the cities of Judah, from Samaria even unto Beth-horon, and
smote three thousand of them, and took much
spoil.
Meanwhile the troops that
Amaziah had dismissed from battle
raided the cities of Judah, from Samaria to Beth-horon. They struck down 3,000 people and carried off a great
deal of
plunder.
And the children of Israel carried away
captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much
spoil from them, and brought the
spoil to Samaria.
Then the Israelites took 200,000
captives from their
kinsmen—women, sons, and daughters. They also carried off a great
deal of
plunder and brought it to Samaria.
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of
Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used
witchcraft, and
dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of
Hinnom. He practiced
sorcery,
divination, and
witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger.
And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
and by the first day of the first month they had dealt with all the men who had married foreign women.
We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
We have
behaved corruptly against You and have not kept the commandments, statutes, and ordinances that You gave Your servant Moses.
And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they
dealt proudly against them. So
didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.
You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, all his officials, and all the people of his land, for You knew they had acted with
arrogance against our fathers. You made a name for
Yourself that endures to this day.
But they and our fathers
dealt proudly, and
hardened their necks, and
hearkened not to thy commandments,
But they and our fathers became
arrogant and stiff-necked and did not obey Your commandments.
And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they
dealt proudly, and
hearkened not unto thy commandments, but
sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and
hardened their neck, and would not hear.
You
admonished them to turn back to Your law, but they were
arrogant and disobeyed Your commandments. They
sinned against Your ordinances, by which a man will live if he practices them. They
stubbornly shrugged their shoulders; they
stiffened their necks and would not obey.
But my brothers are as faithless as wadis, as
seasonal streams that overflow,
Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for
yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I
deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
So now, take seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and sacrifice a burnt offering for
yourselves. Then My servant Job will pray for you, for I will accept his prayer and not
deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken accurately about Me, as My servant Job has.”
His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent
dealing shall come down upon his own
pate.
His trouble recoils on himself, and his violence falls on his own head.
I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath
dealt bountifully with me.
I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me.
All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten You or
betrayed Your covenant.
I said unto the fools,
Deal not
foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:
I say to the proud, ‘Do not
boast,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn.
But turned back, and
dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a
deceitful bow.
They turned back and were faithless like their fathers, twisted like a
faulty bow.
He hath not
dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our
iniquities.
He has not
dealt with us according to our sins or repaid us according to our
iniquities.
He turned their heart to
hate his people, to
deal subtilly with his servants.
whose hearts He turned to
hate His people, to
conspire against His servants.
But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.
But You, O GOD, the Lord, deal kindly with me for the sake of Your name; deliver me by the goodness of Your loving devotion.
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath
dealt bountifully with thee.
Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word.
Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.
You are good to Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.
Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
Deal with Your servant according to Your loving devotion, and teach me Your statutes.
Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt
deal bountifully with me.
Free my soul from prison, that I may praise Your name. The righteous will gather around me because of Your goodness to me.
He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
He has done this for no other nation; they do not know His judgments.
Hallelujah!
He becometh poor that
dealeth with a
slack hand: but the hand of the
diligent maketh rich.
Idle hands make one poor, but
diligent hands bring wealth.
Lying lips are
abomination to the LORD: but they that
deal truly are his delight.
Lying lips are
detestable to the LORD, but those who
deal faithfully are His delight.
Every
prudent man
dealeth with knowledge: but a
fool layeth open his folly.
Every
prudent man acts with knowledge, but a
fool displays his folly.
