And
Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this
befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath
forsaken us, and
delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
“Please, my Lord,”
Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all His wonders of which our fathers told us, saying, ‘Has not the LORD brought us up out of Egypt?’ But now the LORD has
forsaken us and
delivered us into the hand of
Midian.”

deliver Midian into their hands, lest Israel
glorify themselves over Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

delivered Midian, and all the host.
His friend replied: “This is nothing less than the sword of
Gideon son of
Joash, the
Israelite. God has
delivered Midian and the whole camp into his hand.”
And it was so, when

God hath
delivered into your hands the princes of
Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was

Midian, into your hand. What was I able to do compared to you?” When he had said this, their anger against him
subsided.

Gideon said, Therefore when the LORD hath
delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will

deliver you from the hand of
Midian,

deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the
Amorites, from the children of

The Zidonians also, and the
Amalekites, and the Maonites, did
oppress you; and ye
cried to me, and I
delivered you out of their hand.
Yet ye have
forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will
deliver you no more.
But you have
forsaken Me and served other gods, so I will no longer save you.

deliver you in the time of your
tribulation.
Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you in your time of trouble.”

Amorites who inhabited that country,

delivered them into his hands.
So
Jephthah crossed over to the
Ammonites to fight against them, and the LORD
delivered them into his hand.
And
Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great
strife with the children of
Ammon; and when I called you, ye
delivered me not out of their hands.
But
Jephthah replied, “My people and I had a serious conflict with the
Ammonites, and when I called, you did not save me out of their hands.
And when I saw that ye
delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of
Ammon, and the LORD
delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?

delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come

razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a

womb: and he shall begin to
deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

razor shall come over his head, because the boy will be a

womb, and he will begin the
deliverance of Israel from the hand of the Philistines.”

Samson replied, “
Swear to me that you will not kill me
yourselves.”
And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.
“No,” they answered, “we will not kill you, but we will
tie you up securely and hand you over to them.” So they bound him with two new ropes and led him up from the rock.

delivered it into your hand. It is a place where nothing on earth is lacking.”

deliver them, because the city was far from
Sidon and had no alliance with
anyone; it was in a valley near Beth-rehob. And the Danites rebuilt the city and lived there.
Now therefore
deliver us the men, the children of
Belial, which are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not
hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
Hand over the wicked men of Gibeah so we can put them to death and
purge Israel of this evil.” But the Benjamites refused to
heed the voice of their fellow Israelites.
And
Phinehas, the son of

deliver them into thine hand.

Now
Eli’s daughter-in-law, the wife of

Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will
deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then rid
yourselves of the foreign gods and Ashtoreths among you, prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only. And He will
deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”
And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from
Ekron even unto

Ekron to
Gath, which the Philistines had taken, were restored to Israel, who also
delivered the surrounding territory from the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between the Israelites and the

glad.
And they
cried unto the LORD, and said, We have
sinned, because we have
forsaken the LORD, and have served
Baalim and
Ashtaroth: but now
deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
Then they
cried out to the LORD and said, ‘We have
sinned, for we have
forsaken the LORD and served the Baals and Ashtoreths. Now
deliver us from the hands of our enemies, that we may serve You.’
And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and

So the men of the outpost called out to

Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God

rescued Jonathan, that he died not.
But the people said to Saul, “Must
Jonathan die—he who accomplished such a great
deliverance for Israel? Never! As surely as the LORD lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for with God’s help he has accomplished this
today.” So the people
rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.
And he gathered an host, and
smote the
Amalekites, and
delivered Israel out of the hands of them that

And I went out after him, and
smote him, and
delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his
beard, and
smote him, and
slew him.

delivered the lamb from its mouth. If it reared up against me, I would
grab it by its fur, strike it down, and kill it.

delivered me out of the
paw of the lion, and out of the
paw of the bear, he will
deliver me out of the hand of this
Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.
David added, “The LORD, who
delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear, will
deliver me from the hand of this
Philistine.” “Go,” said Saul, “and may the LORD be with you.”
This day will the LORD
deliver thee into mine hand; and I will
smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
This day the LORD will
deliver you into my hand. This day I will strike you down, cut off your head, and give the
carcasses of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the creatures of the earth. Then the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.
Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
Once again, David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD answered him: “Go at once to Keilah, for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.
When Saul was told that David had gone to Keilah, he said, “God has
delivered him into my hand, for he has
trapped himself by entering a town with gates and bars.”
Will the men of Keilah
deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I
beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as Your servant has heard? O LORD, God of Israel, please tell Your servant.” “He will,” said the LORD.
Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.

And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto thee, Behold, I will
deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the
skirt of Saul’s
robe privily.
So David’s men said to him, “This is the day about which the LORD said to you, ‘Behold, I will
deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do with him as you wish.’” Then David
crept up secretly and cut off a corner of Saul’s
robe.
Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the LORD had
delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave: and some
bade me kill thee: but mine eye
spared thee; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD’S
anointed.
Behold, this day you have seen with your own eyes that the LORD
delivered you into my hand in the cave. I was told to kill you, but I
spared you and said, ‘I will not lift my hand against my lord, since he is the LORD’s
anointed.’
The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and thee, and see, and
plead my cause, and
deliver me out of thine hand.
May the LORD be our judge and decide between you and me. May He take notice and
plead my case and
deliver me from your hand.”
And thou hast shewed this day how that thou hast dealt well with me:
forasmuch as when the LORD had
delivered me into thine hand, thou killedst me not.
And you have shown this day how well you have dealt with me; for when the LORD delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me.
Then said
Abishai to David, God hath
delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me
smite him, I pray thee, with the
spear even to the earth at once, and I will not
smite him the second time.
Abishai said to David, “
Today God has
delivered your enemy into your hand. Now, therefore, please let me thrust the
spear through him into the ground with one stroke. I will not need to strike him twice!”
The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness: for the LORD
delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD’S
anointed.
May the LORD repay every man for his righteousness and faithfulness. For the LORD
delivered you into my hand
today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the LORD’s
anointed.
And, behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him
deliver me out of all
tribulation.
As surely as I valued your life
today, so may the LORD value my life and
rescue me from all trouble.”
Moreover the LORD will also
deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to
morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall
deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
Moreover, the LORD will
deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines, and
tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. And the LORD will
deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.”
And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said,
Swear unto me by God, that thou
wilt neither kill me, nor
deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.
“Will you lead me to these raiders?” David asked. And the man replied, “
Swear to me by God that you will not kill me or
deliver me into the hand of my master, and I will lead you to them.”
Then said David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
But David said, “My brothers, you must not do this with what the LORD has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiders who came against us.
Then was
Abner very
wroth for the words of
Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do
shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not
delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?
Abner was
furious over
Ish-bosheth’s
accusation. “Am I the head of a dog that belongs to Judah?” he asked. “All this time I have been
loyal to the house of your father Saul, to his brothers, and to his friends. I have not
delivered you into the hand of David, but now you
accuse me of
wrongdoing with this woman!
And David sent messengers to
Ish-bosheth Saul’s son, saying,
Deliver me my wife Michal, which I
espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
Then David sent messengers to say to
Ish-bosheth son of Saul, “Give me back my wife, Michal, whom I
betrothed to myself for a hundred
Philistine foreskins.”
And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines?
wilt thou
deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless
deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
So David inquired of the LORD, “Should I go up against the Philistines? Will You deliver them into my hand?” “Go,” replied the LORD, “for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
And the rest of the people he
delivered into the hand of
Abishai his brother, that he might put them in
array against the children of
Ammon.
And he placed the rest of the forces under the command of his brother
Abishai, who
arrayed them against the
Ammonites.
And
Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I
anointed thee king over Israel, and I
delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
Then
Nathan said to David, “You are that man! This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘I
anointed you king over Israel, and I
delivered you from the hand of Saul.
And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine
handmaid, and they said,
Deliver him that
smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he
slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall
quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.
Now the whole clan has risen up against your
maidservant and said, ‘Hand over the one who struck down his brother, that we may put him to death for the life of the brother whom he killed. Then we will cut off the heir as well!’ So they would
extinguish my one remaining
ember by not preserving my husband’s name or
posterity on the earth.”
For the king will hear, to
deliver his
handmaid out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
For the king will hear and
deliver his
maidservant from the hand of the man who would cut off both me and my son from God’s inheritance.’
The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose
stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath
delivered the kingdom into the hand of
Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a
bloody man.
The LORD has paid you back for all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned, and the LORD has
delivered the kingdom into the hand of your son
Absalom. See, you have come to ruin because you are a man of
bloodshed!”
And
Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath
delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
Then
Ahimaaz called out to the king, “All is well!” And he bowed facedown before the king. He continued, “Blessed be the LORD your God! He has
delivered up the men who raised their hands against my lord the king.”
And all the people were at
strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he
delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for
Absalom.
And all the people throughout the tribes of Israel were
arguing, “The king
rescued us from the hand of our enemies and
delivered us from the hand of the Philistines, but now he has fled the land because of
Absalom.
The matter is not so: but a man of mount Ephraim,
Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, even against David:
deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said unto
Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
That is not the case. But a man named
Sheba son of Bichri, from the hill country of Ephraim, has lifted up his hand against the king, against David.
Deliver him alone, and I will depart from the city.” “Look,” the woman replied, “his head will be thrown to you over the wall.”

hang them before the LORD at Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD.” “I will give them to you,” said the king.
And he
delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they
hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.
And he
delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they
hanged them on the hill before the LORD. So all seven of them fell together; they were put to death in the first days of the harvest, at the beginning of the barley harvest.
And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
And David
sang this song to the LORD on the day the LORD had
delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
He said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.
He
delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that
hated me: for they were too strong for me.
He
rescued me from my powerful enemy, from foes too mighty for me.
He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
He brought me out into the open; He
rescued me because He delighted in me.
Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
You have
delivered me from the
strife of my people; You have preserved me as the head of nations; a people I had not known shall serve me.
And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
who frees me from my enemies. You
exalt me above my foes; You
rescue me from violent men.
And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
One woman said, “Please, my lord, this woman and I live in the same house, and I gave birth while she was in the house.
And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
On the third day after I gave birth, this woman also had a
baby. We were alone, with no one in the house but the two of us.
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be
angry with them, and
deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away
captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
When they sin against You—for there is no one who does not sin—and You become
angry with them and
deliver them to an enemy who takes them as
captives to his own land, whether far or near,
And they came to
Ophir, and
fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
They sailed to
Ophir and imported gold from there—420 talents—and
delivered it to Solomon.
And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was
disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath
delivered him unto the lion, which hath
torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.
When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has
delivered him to the lion, and it has
mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
Then
Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and
delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king
Asa sent them to Ben-
hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
So
Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the
treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace. He entrusted it to his servants and sent them with this message to Ben-
hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion king of
Aram, who was ruling in Damascus:
And
Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and
delivered him unto his mother: and
Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
Then
Elijah took the child, brought him down from the upper room into the house, and gave him to his mother. “Look, your son is alive,”
Elijah declared.
And he said, What have I
sinned, that thou wouldest
deliver thy servant into the hand of
Ahab, to
slay me?
But
Obadiah replied, “How have I
sinned, that you are handing your servant over to
Ahab to put me to death?
And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-
hadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt
deliver me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
The messengers came back and said, “This is what Ben-
hadad says: ‘I have sent to you to demand your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children.
And, behold, there came a prophet unto
Ahab king of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? behold, I will
deliver it into thine hand this day; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
Meanwhile a prophet approached
Ahab king of Israel and declared, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Do you see this entire great army? Behold, I will
deliver it into your hand this very day, and you will know that I am the LORD.’”
And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Then the man of God approached the king of Israel and said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Because the Arameans think the LORD is a god of the hills and not of the valleys, I will deliver all this great army into your hand. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against
Ramoth-
gilead to battle, or shall I
forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall
deliver it into the hand of the king.
So the king of Israel assembled the prophets, about four hundred men, and asked them, “Should I go to war against
Ramoth-
gilead, or should I
refrain?” “Go up,” they replied, “and the Lord will
deliver it into the hand of the king.”
So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against
Ramoth-
gilead to battle, or shall we
forbear? And he answered him, Go, and
prosper: for the LORD shall
deliver it into the hand of the king.
When Micaiah arrived, the king asked him, “Micaiah, should we go to war against
Ramoth-
gilead, or should we
refrain?” “Go up and triumph,” Micaiah replied, “for the LORD will give it into the hand of the king.”
And the king of Israel said,
Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to
deliver them into the hand of Moab!
“
Alas,” said the king of Israel, “for the LORD has summoned these three kings to
deliver them into the hand of Moab!”
