Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
“O LORD of Hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the
cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the
heavens and the earth.
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out
heaven with the span, and
comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and
weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or marked off the
heavens with the span of his hand? Who has held the dust of the earth in a
basket, or
weighed the mountains on a scale and the hills with a balance?
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the
heavens as a
curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth; its dwellers are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the
heavens like a
curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
This is what God the LORD says— He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its offspring, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk in it:
Sing, O ye
heavens; for the LORD hath done it:
shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and
glorified himself in Israel.
Sing for joy, O
heavens, for the LORD has done this;
shout aloud, O depths of the earth. Break forth in song, O mountains, you forests and all your trees. For the LORD has redeemed Jacob, and revealed His glory in Israel.
Thus saith the LORD, thy
redeemer, and he that formed thee from the
womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the
heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
Thus says the LORD, your
Redeemer who formed you from the
womb: “I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the
heavens, who by Myself spread out the earth,
Drop down, ye
heavens, from above, and let the
skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.
Drip down, O
heavens, from above, and let the
skies pour down righteousness. Let the earth open up that salvation may
sprout and righteousness spring up with it; I, the LORD, have created it.
I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
It is I who made the earth and created man upon it. It was My hands that stretched out the heavens, and I ordained all their host.
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
For thus says the LORD, who created the
heavens—He is God; He formed the earth and fashioned it; He established it; He did not
create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.
Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath
spanned the
heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
Surely My own hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out the
heavens; when I
summon them, they stand up together.
Sing, O
heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his
afflicted.
Shout for joy, O
heavens;
rejoice, O earth; break forth in song, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people, and He will have
compassion on His
afflicted ones.
Lift up your eyes to the
heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the
heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Lift up your eyes to the
heavens, and look at the earth below; for the
heavens will
vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its people will die like gnats. But My salvation will last
forever, and My righteousness will never fail.
And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the
heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the
fury of the
oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the
fury of the
oppressor?
But you have forgotten the LORD, your Maker, who stretched out the
heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. You live in terror all day long because of the
fury of the
oppressor who is bent on destruction. But where is the
fury of the
oppressor?
And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the
heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto
Zion, Thou art my people.
I have put My words in your mouth, and covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the
heavens, to found the earth, and to say to
Zion, ‘You are My people.’”
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from
heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and
bud, that it may give seed to the
sower, and bread to the eater:
For just as rain and snow fall from
heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it
bud and
sprout, and providing seed to
sow and food to eat,
Look down from
heaven, and behold from the
habitation of thy
holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy
bowels and of thy
mercies toward me? are they restrained?
Look down from
heaven and see, from Your holy and glorious
habitation. Where are Your zeal and might? Your
yearning and
compassion for me are restrained.
Oh that thou wouldest
rend the
heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
If only You would
rend the
heavens and come down, so that mountains would
quake at Your presence,
For, behold, I
create new
heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
For behold, I will
create new
heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.
Thus saith the LORD, The
heaven is my throne, and the earth is my
footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
This is what the LORD says: “
Heaven is My throne, and earth is My
footstool. What kind of house will you build for Me? Or where will My place of
repose be?
For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
“For just as the new
heavens and the new earth, which I will make, will
endure before Me,” declares the LORD, “so your descendants and your name will
endure.
I
beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the
heavens, and they had no light.
I looked at the earth, and it was formless and void; I looked to the heavens, and they had no light.
I
beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the
heavens were fled.
I looked, and no man was left; all the birds of the air had fled.
For this shall the earth
mourn, and the
heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not
repent, neither will I turn back from it.
Therefore the earth will
mourn and the
heavens above will grow dark. I have spoken, I have
planned, and I will not relent or turn back.”
The children gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women
knead their
dough, to make cakes to the queen of
heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may
provoke me to anger.
The sons gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women
knead the
dough to make cakes for the Queen of
Heaven; they pour out drink offerings to other gods to
provoke Me to anger.
And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the
heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall
fray them away.
The corpses of this people will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to
scare them away.
And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.
They will be exposed to the sun and moon, and to all the host of heaven which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up or buried, but will become like dung lying on the ground.
Yea, the
stork in the
heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the
turtle and the
crane and the
swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.
Even the
stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons. The
turtledove, the swift, and the
thrush keep their time of
migration, but My people do not know the requirements of the LORD.
For the mountains will I take up a
weeping and
wailing, and for the habitations of the wilderness a
lamentation, because they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice of the cattle; both the fowl of the
heavens and the beast are fled; they are gone.
I will take up a
weeping and
wailing for the mountains, a
dirge over the wilderness pasture, for they have been
scorched so no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. Both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled; they have gone away.
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
This is what the LORD says: “Do not learn the ways of the nations or be
terrified by the signs in the
heavens, though the nations themselves are
terrified by them.
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
Thus you are to tell them: “These gods, who have made neither the heavens nor the earth, will perish from this earth and from under these heavens.”
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the
heavens by his
discretion.
The LORD made the earth by His power; He established the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the
heavens, and he causeth the vapors to
ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
When He thunders, the waters in the
heavens roar; He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the
lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
Are there any among the
vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the
heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
Can the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the
skies alone send showers? Is this not by You, O LORD our God? So we put our hope in You, for You have done all these things.
And I will
appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to
slay, and the dogs to
tear, and the fowls of the
heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to
devour and destroy.
I will
appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the LORD: the sword to kill, the dogs to
drag away, and the birds of the air and beasts of the earth to
devour and destroy.
They shall die of
grievous deaths; they shall not be
lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of
heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
“They will die from deadly diseases. They will not be
mourned or buried, but will lie like dung on the ground. They will be finished off by sword and famine, and their corpses will become food for the birds of the air and beasts of the earth.”
And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
And in this place I will ruin the plans of Judah and Jerusalem. I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies, by the hands of those who seek their lives, and I will give their
carcasses as food to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.
And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be
defiled as the place of
Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of
heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be
defiled like that place, Topheth—all the houses on whose rooftops they burned incense to all the host of
heaven and poured out drink offerings to other gods.”
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.
“Can a man hide in secret places where I cannot see him?” declares the LORD. “Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?” declares the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
This is what the LORD says: “Only if the
heavens above could be measured and the foundations of the earth below searched out would I
reject all of Israel’s descendants because of all they have done,” declares the LORD.
Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the
heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
“Oh, Lord GOD! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.
As the hosts of
heaven cannot be counted and as the sand on the
seashore cannot be measured, so too will I multiply the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who minister before Me.”
Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
This is what the LORD says: If I have not established My covenant with the day and the night and the fixed order of heaven and earth,
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.
I will deliver into the hands of their enemies who seek their lives. Their corpses will become food for the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth.
But we will certainly do
whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of
heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we
plenty of
victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
Instead, we will do everything we
vowed to do: We will burn incense to the Queen of
Heaven and offer drink offerings to her, just as we, our fathers, our kings, and our officials did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. At that time we had
plenty of food and good things, and we saw no
disaster.
But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
But from the time we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been perishing by sword and famine.”
And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?
“Moreover,” said the women, “when we burned incense to the Queen of
Heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, was it without our husbands’ knowledge that we made
sacrificial cakes in her image and poured out drink offerings to her?”
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have
vowed, to burn incense to the queen of
heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely
accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: As for you and your wives, you have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands your words: ‘We will surely perform our vows that we have made to burn incense to the Queen of
Heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her.’ Go
ahead, then, do what you have promised! Keep your vows!
And upon
Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of
heaven, and will
scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation
whither the outcasts of
Elam shall not come.
I will bring the four winds against
Elam from the four corners of the
heavens, and I will
scatter them to all these winds. There will not be a nation to which
Elam’s exiles will not go.
We would have
healed Babylon, but she is not
healed:
forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto
heaven, and is lifted up even to the
skies.
“We tried to
heal Babylon, but she could not be
healed.
Abandon her! Let each of us go to his own land, for her judgment extends to the sky and reaches to the clouds.”
He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
The LORD made the earth by His power; He established the world by His wisdom and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.
When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the
heavens; and he causeth the vapors to
ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
When He thunders, the waters in the
heavens roar; He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He generates the
lightning with the rain and brings forth the wind from His storehouses.
Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the LORD.
Then
heaven and earth and all that is in them will
shout for joy over Babylon because the destroyers from the north will come against her,” declares the LORD.
Though Babylon should mount up to
heaven, and though she should
fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.
Even if Babylon ascends to the
heavens and fortifies her lofty
stronghold, the destroyers I send will come against her,” declares the LORD.
How hath the Lord covered the daughter of
Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from
heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his
footstool in the day of his anger!
How the Lord has covered the Daughter of
Zion with the cloud of His anger! He has cast the glory of Israel from
heaven to earth. He has abandoned His
footstool in the day of His anger.
Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:
Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees.
Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the
heavens of the LORD.
You will pursue them in anger and
exterminate them from under Your
heavens, O LORD.
Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
Those who
chased us were swifter than the eagles in the sky; they pursued us over the mountains and
ambushed us in the wilderness.
Now it came to pass in the
thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the
captives by the river of
Chebar, that the
heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
In the
thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was among the exiles by the River Kebar, the
heavens opened and I saw visions of God.
And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a
lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the
heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. Then the Spirit lifted me up between earth and
heaven and carried me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the
idol that provokes jealousy was seated.
And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven.
I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your streams. You will fall on the open field and will not be taken away or gathered for burial. I have given you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air.
All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
All the birds of the air nested in its branches, and all the beasts of the field gave birth beneath its boughs; all the great nations lived in its shade.
Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:
All the birds of the air nested on its fallen trunk, and all the beasts of the field lived among its boughs.
Then will I leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.
I will
abandon you on the land and
hurl you into the open field. I will cause all the birds of the air to settle upon you, and all the beasts of the earth to eat their fill of you.
And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
When I
extinguish you, I will cover the
heavens and
darken their stars. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.
All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.
All the
shining lights in the
heavens I will
darken over you, and I will bring darkness upon your land,’ declares the Lord GOD.
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the
heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all
creeping things that
creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall
shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that crawls upon the ground, and all mankind on the face of the earth will
tremble at My presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will
collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground.
That they would desire
mercies of the God of
heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
urging them to
plead for mercy from the God of
heaven concerning this
mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be killed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
During the night, the
mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision, and he blessed the God of
heaven But there is a God in
heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king
Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
But there is a God in
heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has made known to King
Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the latter days. Your dream and the visions that came into your mind as you lay on your bed were these:
Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
You, O king, are the king of kings, to whom the God of heaven has given sovereignty, power, strength, and glory.
And
wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the
heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
Wherever the sons of men or beasts of the field or birds of the air dwell, He has given them into your hand and has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.
And in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and
consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
In the days of those kings, the God of
heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will
shatter all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, but will itself stand
forever.
The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
The tree grew large and strong; its top reached the sky, and it was visible to the ends of the earth.
The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit was abundant, and upon it was food for all. Under it the beasts of the field found shelter, in its branches the birds of the air nested, and from it every creature was fed.
I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
As I lay on my bed, I also saw in the visions of my mind a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven.
Nevertheless leave the
stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of
heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
But leave the
stump with its roots in the ground, and a band of iron and bronze around it, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be
drenched with the
dew of
heaven and
graze with the beasts on the grass of the earth.
The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
The tree you saw that grew large and strong, whose top reached the sky and was visible to all the earth,
Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the
heaven had their
habitation:
whose foliage was beautiful and whose fruit was abundant, providing food for all, under which the beasts of the field lived, and in whose branches the birds of the air nested—
It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
you, O king, are that tree! For you have become great and strong; your greatness has grown to reach the sky, and your dominion extends to the ends of the earth.
And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from
heaven, and saying,
Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the
stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of
heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
And you, O king, saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from
heaven and saying: ‘Cut down the tree and destroy it, but leave the
stump with its roots in the ground, and a band of iron and bronze around it, in the tender grass of the field. Let him be
drenched with the
dew of
heaven, and
graze with the beasts of the field till seven times pass him by.’
That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the
dew of
heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to
whomsoever he will.
You will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling will be with the beasts of the field. You will feed on grass like an ox and be
drenched with the
dew of
heaven, and seven times shall pass you by, until you acknowledge that the Most High rules over the kingdom of mankind and gives it to whom He wishes.
And whereas they commanded to leave the
stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the
heavens do rule.
As for the command to leave the
stump of the tree with its roots, your kingdom will be restored to you as soon as you acknowledge that
Heaven rules.
While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from
heaven, saying, O king
Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
While the words were still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from
heaven: “It is decreed to you, King
Nebuchadnezzar, that the kingdom has departed from you.
The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon
Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the
dew of
heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles feathers, and his
nails like birds’ claws.
At that moment the sentence against
Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from mankind. He
ate grass like an ox, and his body was
drenched with the
dew of
heaven, until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his
nails like the claws of a bird.
And at the end of the days I
Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto
heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an
everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
But at the end of those days I,
Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to
heaven, and my
sanity was restored to me. Then I praised the Most High, and I honored and
glorified Him who lives
forever: “For His dominion is an
everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation.
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
All the peoples of the earth are counted as nothing, and He does as He pleases with the army of heaven and the peoples of the earth. There is no one who can restrain His hand or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’”
Now I
Nebuchadnezzar praise and
extol and honour the King of
heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to
abase.
Now I,
Nebuchadnezzar, praise and
exalt and
glorify the King of
heaven, for all His works are true and all His ways are just. And He is able to humble those who walk in pride.
And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild
asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the
dew of
heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it
whomsoever he will.
He was driven away from mankind, and his mind was like that of a beast. He lived with the wild
donkeys and
ate grass like an ox, and his body was
drenched with the
dew of
heaven until he acknowledged that the Most High God rules over the kingdom of mankind, setting over it whom He wishes.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of
heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of
heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
He delivers and rescues; He performs signs and wonders in the
heavens and on the earth, for He has
rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the
heaven strove upon the great sea.
Daniel declared: “In my vision in the night I looked, and suddenly the four winds of
heaven were
churning up the great sea.
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
In my vision in the night I continued to watch, and I saw One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole
heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an
everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
Then the sovereignty, dominion, and greatness of the kingdoms under all of
heaven will be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom will be an
everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will serve and obey Him.’
Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
Thus the goat became very great, but at the height of his power, his large horn was broken off, and four prominent horns came up in its place, pointing toward the four winds of heaven.
And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
It grew as high as the host of
heaven, and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the earth, and
trampled them.
And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
You have carried out the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us a great
disaster. For under all of
heaven, nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem.
