And it came to pass, when
Baasha heard thereof, that he
left off building of
Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he
smote all the house of
Jeroboam; he
left not to
Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant
Ahijah the Shilonite:
As soon as
Baasha became king, he struck down the entire household of
Jeroboam. He did not leave to
Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all according to the word that the LORD had spoken through His servant
Ahijah the Shilonite,
And it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he
slew all the house of
Baasha: he
left him not one that pisseth against a wall, neither of his kinsfolks, nor of his friends.
As soon as Zimri began to reign and was seated on the throne, he struck down the entire household of
Baasha. He did not leave a single male, whether a
kinsman or friend.
And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the
mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so
sore, that there was no breath
left in him.
Later, the son of the woman who owned the house became ill, and his sickness grew worse and worse, until no breath remained in him.
And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-
sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and
left his servant there.
And
Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to
Beersheba in Judah, he
left his servant there,
And he said, I have been very
jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have
forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am
left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
“I have been very
zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts,” he replied, “but the Israelites have
forsaken Your covenant,
torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one
left, and they are seeking my life as well.”
And he said, I have been very
jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have
forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am
left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
“I have been very
zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts,” he replied, “but the Israelites have
forsaken Your covenant,
torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one
left, and they are seeking my life as well.”
Yet I have
left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto
Baal, and every mouth which hath not
kissed him.
Nevertheless, I have reserved seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed to
Baal and whose mouths have not
kissed him.”
And he
left the oxen, and ran after
Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee,
kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
So
Elisha left the oxen, ran after
Elijah, and said, “Please let me
kiss my father and mother goodbye, and then I will follow you.” “Go on back,”
Elijah replied, “for what have I done to you?”
But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and there a wall fell upon twenty and seven thousand of the men that were
left. And Ben-
hadad fled, and came into the city, into an inner chamber.
The rest of them fled into the city of Aphek, where the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand of the remaining men. Ben-
hadad also fled to the city and
hid in an inner room.
Then said he unto him, Because thou hast not obeyed the voice of the LORD, behold, as soon as thou art departed from me, a lion shall
slay thee. And as soon as he was departed from him, a lion found him, and
slew him.
Then the prophet said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, as soon as you depart from me a lion will kill you.” And when he left, a lion found him and killed him.
Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy
posterity, and will cut off from
Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and
left in Israel,
This is what the LORD says: ‘I will bring
calamity on you and
consume your descendants; I will cut off from
Ahab every male in Israel, both slave and free.
And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right and on His left.
And
Elijah took his
mantle, and
wrapped it together, and
smote the waters, and they were divided
hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
And
Elijah took his
cloak, rolled it up, and struck the waters, which parted to the right and to the
left, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
And he took the
mantle of
Elijah that fell from him, and
smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of
Elijah? and when he also had
smitten the waters, they parted
hither and thither: and
Elisha went over.
Then he took the
cloak of
Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the waters. “Where now is the LORD, the God of
Elijah?” he asked. And when he had struck the waters, they parted to the right and to the
left, and
Elisha crossed over.
And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth
left they the stones thereof;
howbeit the slingers went about it, and
smote it.
They destroyed the cities, and each man threw stones on every good field until it was covered. They stopped up every spring and cut down every good tree. Only Kir-haraseth was
left with stones in place, but men with
slings surrounded it and attacked it as well.
So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
So she left him, and after she had shut the door behind her and her sons, they kept bringing jars to her, and she kept pouring.
And his
servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.
But his servant asked, “How am I to set twenty
loaves before a hundred men?” “Give it to the people to eat,” said
Elisha, “for this is what the LORD says: ‘They will eat and have some
left over.’”
So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of the LORD.
So he set it before them, and they
ate and had some
left over, according to the word of the LORD.
The
leprosy therefore of
Naaman shall
cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a
leper as white as snow.
Wherefore they arose and fled in the
twilight, and
left their tents, and their horses, and their
asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
And the king arose in the night, and said unto his servants, I will now
shew you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we be
hungry; therefore are they gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall catch them alive, and get into the city.
So the king got up in the night and said to his servants, “Let me tell you what the Arameans have done to us. They know we are
starving, so they have
left the camp to hide in the field, thinking, ‘When they come out of the city, we will take them alive and enter the city.’”
And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed:) and let us send and see.
But one of his servants replied, “Please, have scouts take five of the horses that remain in the city. Their
plight will be no worse than all the Israelites who are
left here. You can see that all the Israelites here are
doomed. So let us send them and find out.”
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.
When the king asked the woman, she confirmed it. So the king appointed for her an officer, saying, “Restore all that was hers, along with all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the country until now.”
So he departed from
Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said
Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
So
Hazael left Elisha and went to his master, who asked him, “What did
Elisha say to you?” And he replied, “He told me that you would surely recover.”
For the whole house of
Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from
Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and
left in Israel:
The whole house of
Ahab will perish, and I will cut off from
Ahab every male, both slave and free, in Israel.
So
Jehu slew all that remained of the house of
Ahab in
Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he
left him none remaining.
So
Jehu killed
everyone in
Jezreel who remained of the house of
Ahab, as well as all his great men and close friends and priests, leaving him without a single
survivor.
And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and
slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither
left he any of them.
Then
Jehu ordered, “Take them alive.” So his men took them alive, then slaughtered them at the well of Beth-
eked—forty-two men. He
spared none of them.
And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he
saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the
chariot.
When he
left there, he found Jehonadab son of Rechab, who was coming to meet him.
Jehu greeted him and asked, “Is your heart as true to mine as my heart is to yours?” “It is!” Jehonadab replied. “If it is,” said
Jehu, “give me your hand.” So he gave him his hand, and
Jehu helped him into his
chariot,
And
Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of
Baal came, so that there was not a man
left that came not. And they came into the house of
Baal; and the house of
Baal was full from one end to another.
Then
Jehu sent word throughout Israel, and all the servants of
Baal came; there was not a man who failed to show. They entered the temple of
Baal, and it was filled from end to end.
And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.
And the guards stood with weapons in hand surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
For the LORD saw the
affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any
left, nor any helper for Israel.
For the LORD saw that the
affliction of the Israelites, both slave and free, was very bitter. There was no one to help Israel,
And they
left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them
molten images, even two
calves, and made a
grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served
Baal.
They abandoned all the commandments of the LORD their God and made for themselves two cast idols of
calves and an Asherah pole. They bowed down to all the host of heaven and served
Baal.
Therefore the LORD was very
angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none
left but the tribe of Judah only.
So the LORD was very
angry with Israel, and He removed them from His presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained,
It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of
Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the
remnant that are
left.
Perhaps the LORD your God will hear all the words of the
Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to
defy the living God, and He will
rebuke him for the words that the LORD your God has heard. Therefore lift up a prayer for the
remnant that still survives.”
So
Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria
warring against
Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from
Lachish.
When the
Rabshakeh heard that the king of Assyria had
left Lachish, he withdrew and found the king fighting against
Libnah.
And it came to pass,
afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
Before Isaiah had
left the middle
courtyard, the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
The time will surely come when everything in your palace and all that your fathers have stored up until this day will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in all the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.
And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and
defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beer-
sheba, and
brake down the high places of the gates that were in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which were on a man’s
left hand at the gate of the city.
Then
Josiah brought all the priests from the cities of Judah and
desecrated the high places, from Geba to
Beersheba, where the priests had burned incense. He
tore down the high places of the gates at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which was to the
left of the city gate.
And he said, Let him alone; let no man move his bones. So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet that came out of Samaria.
“Let him rest,” said
Josiah. “Do not let
anyone disturb his bones.” So they
left his bones undisturbed, along with those of the prophet who had come from Samaria.
Now the rest of the people that were
left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the
remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard carry away.
Then Nebuzaradan captain of the guard carried into exile the people who remained in the city, along with the deserters who had defected to the king of Babylon and the rest of the population.
But the captain of the guard
left of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and
husbandmen.
But the captain of the guard left behind some of the poorest of the land to tend the vineyards and fields.
And as for the people that remained in the land of Judah, whom
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had
left, even over them he made Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, ruler.
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon appointed Gedaliah son of
Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, over the people he had
left behind in the land of Judah.
And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the
left hand:
Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,
On the
left were their
kinsmen, the sons of Merari:
And unto the sons of
Kohath, which were
left of the family of that tribe, were cities given out of the half tribe, namely, out of the half tribe of
Manasseh, by lot, ten cities.
To the rest of the Kohathites, ten cities were
allotted from the half-tribe of
Manasseh.
They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the
left in
hurling stones and shooting arrows out of a bow, even of Saul’s brethren of Benjamin.
they were archers using both the right and
left hands to
sling stones and shoot arrows; and they were Saul’s
kinsmen from Benjamin):
And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the LORD our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
And he said to the whole assembly of Israel, “If it seems good to you, and if this is of the LORD our God, let us send word far and wide to the rest of our brothers in all the land of Israel, and also to the priests and Levites in their cities and pasturelands, so that they may join us.
And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
There the Philistines abandoned their gods, and David ordered that they be burned in the fire.
So he
left there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD
Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:
So David
left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to minister there regularly according to the daily requirements,
And
Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the LORD in the high place that was at
Gibeon,
And David
left Zadok the priest and his fellow priests before the tabernacle of the LORD at the high place in
Gibeon And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshingfloor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
David came to Ornan, and when Ornan looked out and saw David, he
left the
threshing floor and bowed facedown before David.
And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the
left; and called the name of that on the right hand
Jachin, and the name of that on the
left Boaz.
Then he set up the pillars in front of the temple, one on the south and one on the north. The
pillar on the south he named
Jachin, and the
pillar on the north he named Boaz.
He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them: such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.
He also made ten basins for washing and placed five on the south side and five on the north. The parts of the burnt offering were
rinsed in them, but the priests used the Sea for washing.
And he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.
He made ten gold lampstands according to their specifications and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north.
He made also ten tables, and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made an hundred basons of gold.
Additionally, he made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. He also made a hundred gold
bowls.
But of their children, who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel consumed not, them did Solomon make to pay tribute until this day.
their descendants who remained in the land, those whom the Israelites were unable to destroy—Solomon conscripted these people to be forced laborers, as they are to this day.
And king Solomon gave to the queen of
Sheba all her desire,
whatsoever she asked, beside that which she had brought unto the king. So she turned, and went away to her own land, she and her servants.
King Solomon gave the queen of
Sheba all she desired—whatever she asked—far more than she had brought the king. Then she
left and returned to her own country, along with her servants.
For the Levites
left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for
Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from
executing the priest’s office unto the LORD:
For the Levites
left their pasturelands and their possessions and went to Judah and Jerusalem, because
Jeroboam and his sons had rejected them as priests of the LORD.
Then came Shemaiah the prophet to
Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of
Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have
forsaken me, and therefore have I also
left you in the hand of
Shishak.
Then Shemaiah the prophet came to
Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of
Shishak, and he said to them, “This is what the LORD says: ‘You have
forsaken Me; therefore, I have
forsaken you into the hand of
Shishak.’”
And it came to pass, when
Baasha heard it, that he
left off building of
Ramah, and let his work cease.
Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
Micaiah continued, “Therefore hear the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right and on His left.
And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth,
Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye
prosper.
Early in the morning they got up and
left for the Wilderness of Tekoa. As they set out,
Jehoshaphat stood up and said, “Hear me, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be
upheld; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.”
And they came up into Judah, and
brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son
left him, save
Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.
So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was
left to him except
Jehoahaz, his youngest.
And he sought
Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was
hid in Samaria,) and brought him to
Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he is the son of
Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of
Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.
Then
Jehu looked for
Ahaziah, and
Jehu’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Samaria. So
Ahaziah was brought to
Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the grandson of
Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart.” So no one was
left from the house of
Ahaziah with the strength to rule the kingdom.
And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about.
He stationed all the troops, with their weapons in hand, surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
And they
left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their
trespass.
They abandoned the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and idols. So wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.
And when they were departed from him, (for they
left him in great diseases,) his own servants
conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and
slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the
sepulchres of the kings.
And when the Arameans had withdrawn, they
left Joash severely wounded. His own servants
conspired against him for
shedding the blood of the son of Jehoiada the priest, and they killed him on his bed. So he died and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
And other ten thousand
left alive did the children of Judah carry away
captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces.
and the army of Judah also captured 10,000 men alive. They took them to the top of a
cliff and threw them down so that all were
dashed to pieces.
So the armed men
left the
captives and the
spoil before the princes and all the congregation.
So the armed men
left the
captives and the
plunder before the leaders and all the assembly.
And
Azariah the chief priest of the house of
Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have
left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is
left is this great store.
and
Azariah, the chief priest of the household of
Zadok, answered him, “Since the people began to bring their contributions into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat and there is
plenty left over, because the LORD has blessed His people; this great abundance is what is
left over.”
Howbeit in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to
enquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God
left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.
And so when ambassadors of the rulers of Babylon were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land, God
left him alone to test him, that He might know all that was in
Hezekiah’s heart.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.
Go,
enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are
left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.
“Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for those remaining in Israel and Judah concerning the words in the book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the LORD that has been poured out on us because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD by doing all that is written in this book.”
That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
Hanani, one of my brothers, arrived with men from Judah. So I questioned them about the
remnant of the Jews who had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.
And they said unto me, The
remnant that are
left of the captivity there in the province are in great
affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
And they told me, “The
remnant who survived the exile are there in the province, in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”
Now it came to pass, when
Sanballat, and
Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach
left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)
When
Sanballat,
Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall and not a
gap was
left—though to that time I had not yet
installed the doors in the gates—
And
Ezra the
scribe stood upon a
pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his
left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana,
Zechariah, and Meshullam.
Ezra the
scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for this occasion. At his right side stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, and at his
left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum,
Hash-baddanah,
Zechariah, and Meshullam.
But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee: therefore
leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and
cried unto thee, thou heardest them from heaven; and many times
didst thou deliver them according to thy
mercies;
But as soon as they had rest, they again did evil in Your sight. So You abandoned them to the hands of their enemies, who had dominion over them. When they
cried out to You again, You heard from heaven, and You delivered them many times in Your
compassion.
And the other company of them that gave
thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;
The second
thanksgiving choir proceeded to the
left, and I followed it with half the people along the top of the wall, past the Tower of the Ovens to the Broad Wall,
The posts went out, being
hastened by the king’s commandment, and the decree was given in
Shushan the palace. And the king and
Haman sat down to drink; but the city
Shushan was
perplexed.
The couriers
left,
spurred on by the king’s command, and the edict was issued in the citadel of
Susa. Then the king and
Haman sat down to drink, but the city of
Susa was in confusion.
Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the
banquet of wine; and
Haman was fallen upon the bed
whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered
Haman’s face.
Just as the king returned from the palace garden to the
banquet hall,
Haman was falling on the
couch where
Esther was
reclining. The king
exclaimed, “Would he actually
assault the queen while I am in the palace?” As soon as the words had
left the king’s mouth, they covered
Haman’s face.
There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
Nothing is
left for him to
consume; thus his prosperity will not
endure.
All darkness shall be
hid in his secret places: a fire not
blown shall
consume him; it shall go ill with him that is
left in his tabernacle.

left hand, where he
doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

left hand is under my head, and his right hand
doth embrace me.
