And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.
But the king of Egypt said to them, “Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your labor!”
Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as
heretofore:
let them go and gather straw for themselves.
“You shall no longer supply the people with straw for making bricks. They must go and gather their own straw.
And the tale of the bricks, which they did make
heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying,
Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
But require of them the same
quota of bricks as before; do not reduce it. For they are
lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘
Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.
Make the work harder on the men so they will be occupied and pay no attention to these lies.”
But he said, Ye are idle, ye are idle: therefore ye say, Let us go and do sacrifice to the LORD.
“You are slackers!” Pharaoh replied. “Slackers! That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.’
Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

You are to speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his land.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh’s heart is
hardened, he refuseth to
let the people go.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.
And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.
Then say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to tell you:
Let My people go, so that they may worship Me in the wilderness. But you have not
listened until now.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

Else, if thou
wilt not
let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of
flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of
flies, and also the ground
whereon they are.
But if you will not
let My people go, I will send swarms of
flies upon you and your officials and your people and your houses. The houses of the Egyptians and even the ground where they stand will be full of
flies.
And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
Pharaoh answered, “I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”
And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms of
flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to
morrow: but
let not Pharaoh deal
deceitfully any more in not
letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.
“As soon as I leave you,” Moses said, “I will pray to the LORD, so that
tomorrow the swarms of
flies will depart from Pharaoh and his officials and his people. But Pharaoh must not act
deceitfully again by refusing to
let the people go and sacrifice to the LORD.”

hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he
let the people go.

let them go, and
wilt hold them still,
But if you continue to restrain them and refuse to let them go,
And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was
hardened, and he did not
let the people go.
Pharaoh sent officials and found that none of the
livestock of the Israelites had died. But Pharaoh’s heart was
hardened, and he would not
let the people go.
And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and
let Moses
sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Take handfuls of
soot from the furnace; in the sight of Pharaoh, Moses is to
toss it into the air.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

As yet exaltest thou
thyself against my people, that thou
wilt not
let them go?
Still, you lord it over My people and do not allow them to go.
Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and
hail; and I will
let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
Pray to the LORD, for there has been enough of God’s
thunder and
hail. I will
let you go; you do not need to stay any longer.”
And the heart of Pharaoh was
hardened, neither would he
let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.

hardened, and he would not
let the Israelites go, just as the LORD had said through Moses.
And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long
wilt thou refuse to humble
thyself before me?
let my people go, that they may serve me.
So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and told him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble
yourself before Me?
Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.
Else, if thou refuse to
let my people go, behold, to
morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
But if you refuse to
let My people go, I will bring locusts into your territory
tomorrow.
And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a
snare unto us?
let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
Pharaoh’s officials asked him, “How long will this man be a
snare to us?
Let the people go, so that they may worship the LORD their God. Do you not yet
realize that Egypt is in ruins?”
And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
Then Pharaoh told them, “May the LORD be with you if I ever let you go with your little ones. Clearly you are bent on evil.
But the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not
let the children of Israel go.
But the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not
let the Israelites go.
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Go, worship the LORD. Even your little ones may go with you; only your flocks and herds must stay behind.”
But the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not
let them go.
But the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he was unwilling to
let them go.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “I will bring upon Pharaoh and Egypt one more plague. After that, he will allow you to leave this place. And when he lets you go, he will drive you out completely.
Speak now in the ears of the people, and
let every man
borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.
Now
announce to the people that men and women alike should ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.”
And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: and the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not
let the children of Israel go out of his land.
Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but the LORD
hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that he would not
let the Israelites go out of his land.
And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
If the household is too small for a whole lamb, they are to share with the nearest
neighbor based on the number of people, and
apportion the lamb accordingly.
And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
Do not leave any of it until morning; before the morning you must burn up any part that is left over.
And when a stranger shall
sojourn with thee, and will keep the
passover to the LORD,
let all his males be
circumcised, and then
let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no
uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly
let us go, that the LORD
slew all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the
firstborn of man, and the
firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the
matrix, being males; but all the
firstborn of my children I
redeem.
And when Pharaoh
stubbornly refused to
let us go, the LORD killed every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of man and beast. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the
firstborn male of every
womb, but I
redeem all the
firstborn of my sons.’
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had
let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest
peradventure the people
repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road through the land of the Philistines, though it was shorter. For God said, “If the people face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”
And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”
Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”
And took off their
chariot wheels, that they
drave them
heavily: so that the Egyptians said,
Let us
flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
He caused their
chariot wheels to
wobble, so that they had difficulty driving. “
Let us
flee from the Israelites,” said the Egyptians, “for the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”
And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
Then Moses said to them, “No one may keep any of it until morning.”
See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days;
abide ye every man in his place,
let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Understand that the LORD has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day He will give you bread for two days. On the seventh day,
everyone must stay where he is; no one may leave his place.”
And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

And
let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for
thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
Have these men judge the people at all times. Then they can bring you any major issue, but all minor cases they can judge on their own, so that your load may be
lightened as they share it with you.
And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.
Then Moses sent his father-in-law on his way, and Jethro returned to his own land.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and
sanctify them to day and to
morrow, and
let them wash their clothes,
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and
consecrate them
today and
tomorrow. They must wash their clothes
And
let the priests also, which come near to the LORD,
sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
Even the priests who approach the LORD must
consecrate themselves, or the LORD will break out against them.”
And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
And the LORD replied, “Go down and bring Aaron with you. But the priests and the people must not break through to come up to the LORD, or He will break out against them.”
And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
“Speak to us
yourself and we will
listen,” they said to Moses. “But do not
let God speak to us, or we will die.”
If she please not her master, who hath
betrothed her to himself, then shall he
let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt
deceitfully with her.
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who had designated her for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has broken faith with her.
And if a man
smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his
maid, that it perish; he shall
let him go free for his eye’s sake.
If a man strikes and blinds the eye of his
manservant or
maidservant, he must
let the servant go free as compensation for the eye.
And if he knocks out the tooth of his
manservant or
maidservant, he must
let the servant go free as compensation for the tooth.
If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be
stolen out of the man’s house; if the
thief be found,
let him pay double.
If a man gives his
neighbor money or goods for safekeeping and they are
stolen from the
neighbor’s house, the
thief, if caught, must pay back double.
If it be
torn in pieces, then
let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was
torn.
Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his
dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
You shall do likewise with your cattle and your sheep. Let them stay with their mothers for seven days, but on the eighth day you are to give them to Me.
But the seventh year thou shalt
let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy
vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
but in the seventh year you must
let it rest and lie
fallow, so that the poor among your people may eat from the field and the wild animals may
consume what they leave. Do the same with your
vineyard and olive
grove.
And in all things that I have said unto you be
circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither
let it be heard out of thy mouth.
Pay close attention to everything I have said to you. You must not
invoke the names of other gods; they must not be heard on your lips.
And he said unto the elders,
Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do,
let him come unto them.
And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we return to you. Aaron and Hur are here with you.
Whoever has a dispute can go to them.”
And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.
Now therefore
let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may
consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
Now leave Me alone, so that My anger may burn against them and
consume them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”
And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
“Do not be
enraged, my lord,” Aaron replied. “You
yourself know that the people are intent on evil.
And I said unto them,
Whosoever hath any gold,
let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this
calf.
So I said to them, ‘
Whoever has gold,
let him take it off,’ and they gave it to me. And when I threw it into the fire, out came this
calf!”
And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
Moses saw that the people were out of control, for Aaron had
let them run wild and become a
laughingstock to their enemies.
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
So Moses stood at the entrance to the camp and said, “
Whoever is for the LORD, come to me.” And all the Levites gathered around him.
And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not
let me know whom thou
wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
Then Moses said to the LORD, “Look, You have been telling me, ‘Lead this people up,’ but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have found favor in My sight.’
Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight,
shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
Now if indeed I have found favor in Your sight, please let me know Your ways, that I may know You and find favor in Your sight. Remember that this nation is Your people.”
And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
No one may go up with you; in fact, no one may be seen
anywhere on the mountain—not even the flocks or herds may
graze in front of the mountain.”
And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord,
let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and
pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.
“O Lord,” he said, “if I have indeed found favor in Your sight, my Lord, please go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people,
forgive our iniquity and sin, and take us as Your inheritance.”
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with
leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the
passover be left unto the morning.
Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to Me along with anything
leavened, and do not
let any of the sacrifice from the
Passover Feast remain until morning.
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD:
whosoever is of a willing heart,
let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
Take from among you an offering to the LORD.
Let everyone whose heart is willing bring an offering to the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze;
And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded;
Let every skilled
craftsman among you come and make everything that the LORD has commanded:
And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
After Moses had given an order, they sent a
proclamation throughout the camp: “No man or woman should make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing more,
If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the
herd,
let him offer a male without
blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
If one’s offering is a burnt offering from the
herd, he is to present an
unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for its acceptance before the LORD.
If the priest that is
anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then
let him bring for his sin, which he hath
sinned, a young
bullock without
blemish unto the LORD for a sin offering.
If the
anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the LORD a young bull without
blemish as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.
And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto
Eleazar and unto
Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither
rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but
let your brethren, the whole house of Israel,
bewail the burning which the LORD hath
kindled.
Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Do not
let your hair become
disheveled and do not
tear your garments, or else you will die, and the LORD will be
angry with the whole congregation. But your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may
mourn on account of the fire that the LORD has
ignited.
And the
leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper
lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
A diseased person must wear
torn clothes and
let his hair
hang loose, and he must cover his mouth and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’
And he shall
sprinkle upon him that is to be
cleansed from the
leprosy seven times, and shall
pronounce him clean, and shall
let the living bird loose into the open field.
Seven times he shall
sprinkle the one to be
cleansed of the skin disease. Then he shall
pronounce him clean and release the live bird into the open field.
But he shall
let go the living bird out of the city into the open fields, and make an
atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.
Finally, he is to release the live bird into the open fields outside the city. In this way he will make
atonement for the house, and it will be clean.
But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the
scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make an
atonement with him, and to
let him go for a
scapegoat into the wilderness.
But the goat chosen by lot as the
scapegoat shall be presented alive before the LORD to make
atonement by sending it into the wilderness as the
scapegoat.
And the goat shall bear upon him all their
iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall
let go the goat in the wilderness.
The goat will carry on itself all their
iniquities into a solitary place, and the man will release it into the wilderness.
And he that
let go the goat for the
scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and
bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.
The man who released the goat as the
scapegoat must wash his clothes and
bathe himself with water; afterward he may reenter the camp.
And thou shalt not
let any of thy seed pass through the fire to
Molech, neither shalt thou
profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
You must not give any of your children to be sacrificed to
Molech, for you must not
profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not
let thy cattle
gender with a
diverse kind: thou shalt not
sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
You are to keep My statutes. You shall not
crossbreed two different kinds of
livestock; you shall not
sow your fields with two kinds of seed; and you shall not wear clothing made of two kinds of material.
And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the
anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor
rend his clothes;
The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the
anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained to wear the priestly garments, must not
let his hair
hang loose or
tear his garments.
Speak unto Aaron, saying,
Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any
blemish,
let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.
“Say to Aaron, ‘For the generations to come, none of your descendants who has a physical defect may approach to offer the food of his God.
Bring forth him that hath
cursed without the camp; and
let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and
let all the congregation stone him.
“Take the
blasphemer outside the camp, and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have the whole assembly stone him.
Then
let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the
overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.
he shall
calculate the years since its sale, repay the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and return to his property.
But as an
hired servant, and as a
sojourner, he shall be with thee, and shall serve thee unto the year of jubile:
Let him stay with you as a
hired worker or temporary resident; he is to work for you until the Year of
Jubilee.
But if the man has no relative to whom
restitution can be made for the wrong, the
restitution belongs to the LORD and must be given to the priest along with the ram of
atonement, by which the
atonement is made for him.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to
let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
All the days of the
vow of his separation there shall no
razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and shall
let the locks of the hair of his head grow.
For the entire period of his
vow of separation, no
razor shall pass over his head. He must be holy until the time of his separation to the LORD is complete; he must
let the hair of his head grow long.
And thus shalt thou do unto them, to
cleanse them:
Sprinkle water of
purifying upon them, and
let them
shave all their flesh, and
let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
Then
let them take a young
bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young
bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
Then have them take a young bull with its grain offering of fine flour mixed with oil, and you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering.
Let the children of Israel also keep the
passover at his appointed season.
“The Israelites are to observe the
Passover at its appointed time.
And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and
let thine enemies be scattered; and
let them that
hate thee
flee before thee.
Whenever the ark set out, Moses would say, “Rise up, O LORD! May Your enemies be scattered; may those who
hate You
flee before You.”
And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and
let me not see my
wretchedness.
If this is how You are going to treat me, please kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and
let me not see my own
wretchedness.”
