Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your
mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is
living in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
and, “It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Therefore I
urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as
living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
For this reason Christ died and returned to life, that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
Or are
Barnabas and I the only apostles who must work for a
living?
Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which
preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
In the same way, the Lord has prescribed that those who
preach the gospel should receive their
living from the gospel.
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen
asleep.
After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still
living, though some have fallen
asleep.
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a
living soul; the last Adam was made a
quickening spirit.
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being;” the last Adam a life-giving spirit.
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the
living God; not in tables of stone, but in
fleshy tables of the heart.
It is clear that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
What agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”
But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I
wot not.
But if I go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. So what shall I choose? I do not know.
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations:
For they themselves
shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the
living and true God;
For they themselves report what kind of
welcome you gave us, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the
living and true God
For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
For now we can go on living, as long as you are standing firm in the Lord.
Now them that are such we command and
exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
We command and
urge such people by our Lord Jesus Christ to begin working quietly to
earn their own
living.
But if I
tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to
behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the
living God, the
pillar and ground of the truth.
in case I am delayed, so that you will know how each one must conduct himself in God’s household, which is the church of the
living God, the
pillar and foundation of the truth.
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
To this end we labor and
strive, because we have set our hope on the
living God, who is the
Savior of
everyone, and especially of those who believe.
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be
conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy.
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom:
Take
heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the
living God.
See to it, brothers, that none of you has a wicked heart of unbelief that turns away from the living God.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword,
piercing even to the dividing
asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
For the word of God is
living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and
marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
purge your conscience from dead works to serve the
living God?
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself
unblemished to God,
purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the
living God!
By a new and
living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the
veil, that is to say, his flesh;
by the new and
living way opened for us through the
curtain of His body,
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
But ye are come unto mount
Sion, and unto the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Instead, you have come to Mount
Zion, to the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to myriads of angels
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath
begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the
living and
enduring word of God.
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
As you come to Him, the living stone, rejected by men but chosen and precious in God’s sight,
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in
lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and
abominable idolatries:
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
But they will have to give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
(for that righteous man,
living among them day after day, was
tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—
I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for
evermore,
Amen; and have the keys of
hell and of death.
the
Living One. I was dead, and behold, now I am alive
forever and ever! And I hold the keys of Death and of Hades.
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And before the throne was something like a sea of glass, as clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, covered with eyes in front and back.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a
calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
The first
living creature was like a lion, the second like a
calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God
Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
And each of the four
living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God
Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
And when those beasts give glory and honour and
thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
And whenever the
living creatures give glory, honor, and
thanks to the One seated on the throne who lives
forever and ever,
And I
beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne,
encircled by the four
living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
When He had taken the
scroll, the four
living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a
harp, and they were holding golden
bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
And I
beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and
living creatures and elders
encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.
And the four beasts said,
Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
And the four
living creatures said, “
Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of
thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
Then I watched as the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four
living creatures say in a
thunderous voice, “Come!”
And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
And when the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I
beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
And when the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” Then I looked and saw a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a
penny, and three measures of barley for a
penny; and see thou
hurt not the oil and the wine.
And I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four
living creatures, saying, “A
quart of wheat for a
denarius, and three quarts of barley for a
denarius, and do not
harm the oil and wine.”
And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
And when the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the
living God: and he
cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to
hurt the earth and the sea,
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, with the seal of the
living God. And he called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to
harm the land and the sea:
And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. And they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God,
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto
living fountains of waters: and God shall
wipe away all tears from their eyes.
For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their
shepherd. ‘He will lead them to springs of
living water,’ and ‘God will
wipe away every
tear from their eyes.’”
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
And they
sang a new song before the throne and before the four
living creatures and the elders. And no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
Then one of the four
living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden
bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives
forever and ever.
And the second angel poured out his
vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every
living soul died in the sea.
And the second angel poured out his
bowl into the sea, and it turned to blood like that of the dead, and every
living thing in the sea died.
For in one hour so great riches is come to
nought. And every
shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood
afar off,
For in a single hour such
fabulous wealth has been destroyed!” Every
shipmaster,
passenger, and
sailor, and all who make their
living from the sea, will stand at a distance
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying,
Amen;
Alleluia.
And the twenty-four elders and the four
living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying: “
Amen,
Hallelujah!”

workmanship of thine hands, and
didst breathe into him the breath of life, and he was made
living before thee.
Upon the fifth day thou saidst unto the seventh part, where the waters were gathered that it should bring forth living creatures, fowls and fishes: and so it came to pass.
For the
dumb water and without life brought forth
living things at the commandment of God, that all people might praise thy
wondrous works.
And he pardoneth; for if he did not so of his goodness, that they which have committed
iniquities might be eased of them, the ten
thousandth part of men should not remain
living.
There declare his greatness, and
extol him before all the
living: for he is our Lord, and he is the God our Father for ever.
As Nabuchodonosor king of all the earth liveth, and as his power liveth, who hath sent thee for the upholding of every living thing: for not only men shall serve him by thee, but also the beasts of the field, and the cattle, and the fowls of the air, shall live by thy power under Nabuchodonosor and all his house.
And that they be children of the most high and most mighty, living God, who hath ordered the kingdom both unto us and to our progenitors in the most excellent manner.
For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living.
He pleased God, and was beloved of him: so that living among sinners he was translated.
Thus the righteous that is dead shall
condemn the ungodly which are
living; and youth that is soon perfected the many years and old age of the unrighteous.
The natures of
living creatures, and the
furies of wild beasts: the violence of winds, and the reasonings of men: the
diversities of plants and the virtues of roots:
Forasmuch as he knew not his Maker, and him that inspired into him an active soul, and breathed in a
living spirit.
So they all together had innumerable dead with one kind of death; neither were the
living sufficient to
bury them: for in one moment the noblest offspring of them was destroyed.
For when the dead were now fallen down by heaps one upon another, standing between, he stayed the wrath, and parted the way to the living.
On the other side, the flames wasted not the flesh of the corruptible
living things, though they walked therein; neither melted they the
icy kind of heavenly meat that was of nature apt to
melt.
My son,
defraud not the poor of his
living, and make not the
needy eyes to wait long.

living; and for the dead
detain it not.

living and sound in heart shall praise the Lord.

living slayeth him; and he that defraudeth the labourer of his
hire is a
bloodshedder.
Be not
ashamed to inform the unwise and
foolish, and the extreme aged that contendeth with those that are young: thus shalt thou be truly learned, and approved of all men
living.
Rich men furnished with ability,
living peaceably in their habitations:
He chose him out of all men
living to offer sacrifices to the Lord, incense, and a sweet savour, for a
memorial, to make
reconciliation for his people.

living thing in creation.

Bel is a
living God? seest thou not how much he eateth and drinketh every day?
And the king said unto Daniel,
Wilt thou also say that this is of brass? lo, he liveth, he eateth and drinketh; thou canst not say that he is no
living god: therefore worship him.
Then said Daniel unto the king, I will worship the Lord my God: for he is the living God.
And though the
living Lord be
angry with us a little while for our
chastening and correction, yet shall he be at one again with his servants.
