Then the priest shall come and
look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a
fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean.
the priest must come and
inspect it. If the
mildew has spread in the house, it is a destructive
mildew; the house is unclean.
And if the priest shall come in, and
look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall
pronounce the house clean, because the plague is
healed.
If, however, the priest comes and inspects it, and the
mildew has not spread after the house has been replastered, he shall
pronounce the house clean, because the
mildew is gone.

leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was

And it shall be unto you for a
fringe, that ye may
look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a
whoring:
These will serve as tassels for you to
look at, so that you may remember all the commandments of the LORD, that you may obey them and not
prostitute yourselves by following your own heart and your own eyes.

uttermost of thy border:

cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice, sent an angel, and brought us out of Egypt. Now
look, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your territory.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a
fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is

fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When
anyone who is
bitten looks at it, he will live.”
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had

anyone who was
bitten looked at the bronze
snake, he would live.

Balaam, to commit
trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
“

Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
Or with any stone,
wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his
harm:
or without
looking drops a heavy stone that kills him, but he was not an enemy and did not intend to
harm him,
Get thee up into the top of
Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
Go to the top of
Pisgah and
look to the west and north and south and east. See the land with your own eyes, for you will not cross this Jordan.
And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
When you
look to the heavens and see the sun and moon and stars—all the host of heaven—do not be
enticed to bow down and worship what the LORD your God has
apportioned to all the nations under heaven.
And thou shalt
consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no
pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a
snare unto thee.
You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God will deliver to you. Do not
look on them with
pity. Do not worship their gods, for that will be a
snare to you.
And I
looked, and, behold, ye had
sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a
molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had commanded you.
And I saw how you had
sinned against the LORD your God; you had made for
yourselves a
molten calf. You had turned aside quickly from the way that the LORD had commanded you.
Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob;
look not unto the
stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:
Remember Your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Overlook the
stubbornness of this people and the wickedness of their sin.
Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him
nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
Be careful not to
harbor this wicked thought in your heart: “The seventh year, the year of release, is near,” so that you
look upon your poor brother begrudgingly and give him nothing. He will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.
And when we
cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and
looked on our
affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:
So we called out to the LORD, the God of our fathers; and the LORD heard our voice and saw our
affliction,
toil, and oppression.
Look down from thy holy
habitation, from heaven, and
bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
Look down from Your holy
habitation, from heaven, and
bless Your people Israel and the land You have given us as You
swore to our fathers—a land flowing with milk and honey.”
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.

weary looking for them day after day, with no power in your hand.
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by
Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and
looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our
adversaries?

Ai turned and
looked back, the smoke of the city was rising into the sky. They could not escape in any direction, and the troops who had fled to the wilderness now became the pursuers.
This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is
mouldy:
This bread of ours was warm when we
packed it at home on the day we left to come to you. But take a
look, it is now dry and
moldy.
And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our

sandals are worn out from our very long journey.”

Then the border went up to Debir from the Valley of
Achor, turning north to
Gilgal, which faces the
Ascent of Adummim south of the
ravine. It continued along the waters of En-shemesh and came out at En-rogel.
Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say again, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between us and you.
Therefore we said, ‘If they ever say this to us or to our descendants, we will answer:
Look at the
replica of the altar of the LORD that our fathers made, not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.’
And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

Abimelech privily, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to
Shechem; and, behold, they
fortify the city against thee.
And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, Thou seest the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.
When Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, “Look, people are coming down from the mountains!” But Zebul replied, “The shadows of the mountains look like men to you.”
And Gaal spake again and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.
Then Gaal spoke up again, “Look, people are coming down from the center of the land, and one company is coming by way of the Diviners’ Oak.”
And he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the field, and
looked, and, behold, the people were come forth out of the city; and he rose up against them, and
smote them.
So he took his men, divided them into three companies, and lay in wait in the fields. When he saw the people coming out of the city, he rose up against them and attacked them.
So
Manoah took a
kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wonderously; and
Manoah and his wife
looked on.

Manoah and his wife
looked on, the LORD did a

And
Samson’s wife
wept before him, and said, Thou
dost but
hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a
riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
Then
Samson’s wife came to him,
weeping, and said, “You
hate me! You do not really love me! You have
posed to my people a
riddle, but have not explained it to me.” “
Look,” he said, “I have not even explained it to my father or mother, so why should I explain it to you?”

tarry all night: behold, the day groweth to an end,
lodge here, that thine heart may be
merry; and to
morrow get you early on your way, that thou mayest go home.
When the man got up to depart with his
concubine and his servant, his father-in-law, the
girl’s father, said to him, “
Look, the day is drawing to a close. Please
spend the night. See, the day is almost over.
Spend the night here, that your heart may be
merry. Then you can get up early
tomorrow for your journey home.”
And when he had lifted up his eyes, he saw a
wayfaring man in the street of the city: and the old man said,
Whither goest thou? and whence comest thou?
When he looked up and saw the traveler in the city square, the old man asked, “Where are you going, and where have you come from?”
Behold, here is my daughter a
maiden, and his
concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so
vile a thing.
Look, let me bring out my virgin daughter and the man’s
concubine, and you can use them and do with them as you wish. But do not do such a
vile thing to this man.”
But when the flame began to arise up out of the city with a

Shiloh yearly in a place which is on the north side of

highway that goeth up from

Shechem, and on the south of Lebonah.
“But
look,” they said, “there is a yearly feast to the LORD in
Shiloh, which is north of
Bethel east of the road that goes up from
Bethel to
Shechem, and south of Lebonah.”

And she
vowed a
vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou
wilt indeed
look on the
affliction of thine
handmaid, and remember me, and not
forget thine
handmaid, but
wilt give unto thine
handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no
razor come upon his head.
And they of Beth-shemesh were
reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and
rejoiced to see it.
Now the people of Beth-shemesh were harvesting wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they were overjoyed at the sight.
And he
smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had
looked into the ark of the LORD, even he
smote of the people fifty thousand and
threescore and ten men: and the people
lamented, because the LORD had
smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
But God struck down some of the people of Beth-shemesh because they
looked inside the ark of the LORD. He struck down seventy men, and the people
mourned because the LORD had struck them with a great slaughter.

asses.

peradventure he can
shew us our way that we should go.
“Look,” said the servant, “in this city there is a man of God who is highly respected; everything he says surely comes to pass. Let us go there now. Perhaps he will tell us which way to go.”
And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a
shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.
The servant answered him again. “
Look,” he said, “I have here in my hand a quarter
shekel of silver. I will give it to the man of God, and he will tell us our way.”
To
morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt
anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have
looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.
“At this time
tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you are to
anoint him leader over My people Israel; he will save them from the hand of the Philistines. For I have
looked upon My people, because their cry has come to Me.”
And Saul’s uncle said unto him and to his servant,
Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the
asses: and when we saw that they were no where, we came to Samuel.
Now Saul’s uncle asked him and his servant, “Where did you go?” “To
look for the
donkeys,” Saul replied. “When we saw they were not to be found, we went to Samuel.”
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of

Kish was selected. But when they
looked for him, they could not find him.

And both of them discovered themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, Behold, the Hebrews come forth out of the holes where they had
hid themselves.

exclaimed, “
Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes in which they were hiding!”
And the
watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin
looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another.
Now when Saul’s
watchmen at Gibeah in Benjamin

scattering in every direction,
Then said
Jonathan, My father hath troubled the land: see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been
enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.
“My father has brought trouble to the land,”
Jonathan replied. “Just
look at how my eyes have
brightened because I tasted a little of this honey.
Then they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against the LORD, in that they eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have
transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day.
Then someone reported to Saul: “
Look, the troops are
sinning against the LORD by eating meat with the blood still in it.” “You have broken faith,” said Saul. “Roll a large stone over here at once.”
And it came to pass, when they were come, that he
looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’S
anointed is before him.
When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and said, “Surely here before the LORD is His
anointed.”
But the LORD said unto Samuel,
Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his
stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD
seeth not as man
seeth; for man
looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD
looketh on the heart.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or height, for I have rejected him; the LORD does not see as man does. For man sees the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart.”
And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was
ruddy, and
withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to
look to. And the LORD said, Arise,
anoint him: for this is he.
So
Jesse sent for his youngest son and brought him in. He was
ruddy, with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. And the LORD said, “Rise and
anoint him, for he is the one.”
And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and
look how thy brethren
fare, and take their
pledge.
Take also these ten portions of
cheese to the commander of their unit. Check on the
welfare of your brothers and bring back an assurance from them.
And when the
Philistine looked about, and saw David, he
disdained him: for he was but a youth, and
ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
And David said unto
Jonathan, Behold, to
morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.

Look,
tomorrow is the New Moon, and I am supposed to
dine with the king. Instead, let me go and hide in the field until the third evening from now.
And, behold, I will send a
lad, saying, Go, find out the arrows. If I expressly say unto the
lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of thee, take them; then come thou: for there is peace to thee, and no
hurt; as the LORD liveth.
Then I will send a boy and say, ‘Go, find the arrows!’ Now, if I expressly say to him, ‘Look, the arrows are on this side of you; bring them,’ then come, because as surely as the LORD lives, it is safe for you and there is no danger.
But if I say thus unto the young man, Behold, the arrows are beyond thee; go thy way: for the LORD hath sent thee away.
But if I say to the young man, ‘Look, the arrows are beyond you,’ then you must go, for the LORD has sent you away.
Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is
mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me?
Then Achish said to his servants, “
Look, you can see that the man is
insane! Why have you brought him to me?
Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they
rob the threshingfloors.
Now it was reported to David, “
Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and
looting the
threshing floors.”
And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
But David’s men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah; how much more if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?”
Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.

David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and
cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul
looked behind him, David
stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.
After that, David got up, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed facedown in reverence
And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men’s words, saying, Behold, David seeketh thy
hurt?
and said to Saul, “Why do you
listen to the words of men who say, ‘
Look, David intends to
harm you’?
Moreover, my father, see,
yea, see the
skirt of thy
robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the
skirt of thy
robe and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor
transgression in mine hand, and I have not
sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
See, my father,
look at the corner of your
robe in my hand. For I cut it off, but I did not kill you. See and know that there is no evil or rebellion in my hands. I have not
sinned against you, even though you are hunting me down to take my life.
But one of the young men told
Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to
salute our master; and he railed on them.
Meanwhile, one of Nabal’s young men informed Nabal’s wife
Abigail, “
Look, David sent messengers from the wilderness to
greet our master, but he
scolded them.
This thing is not good that thou hast done. As the LORD liveth, ye are worthy to die, because ye have not kept your master, the LORD’S
anointed. And now see where the king’s
spear is, and the
cruse of water that was at his
bolster.
This thing you have done is not good. As surely as the LORD lives, all of you deserve to die, since you did not protect your lord, the LORD’s
anointed. Now
look around. Where are the king’s
spear and water
jug that were by his head?”
Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a
flea, as when one
doth hunt a
partridge in the mountains.
So do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the LORD. For the king of Israel has come out to
look for a
flea, like one who hunts a
partridge in the mountains.”
And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a
mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he
stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
“What does he
look like?” asked Saul. “An old man is coming up,” she replied. “And he is wearing a
robe.” So Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed facedown in reverence.
And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was
sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine
handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have
hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
When the woman came to Saul and saw how
distraught he was, she said to him, “
Look, your
maidservant has obeyed your voice. I took my life in my hands and did as you told me.
And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, Here am I.
When he turned around and saw me, he called out and I answered, ‘Here I am!’
Then
Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou
Asahel? And he answered, I am.
Then
Joab came to the king, and said, What hast thou done? behold,
Abner came unto thee; why is it that thou hast sent him away, and he is quite gone?
So
Joab went to the king and said, “What have you done?
Look,
Abner came to you. Why did you dismiss him? Now he is getting away!
When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good
tidings, I took hold of him, and
slew him in
Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his
tidings:
when someone told me, ‘
Look, Saul is dead,’ and thought he was a bearer of good news, I seized him and put him to death at
Ziklag. That was his reward for his news!
And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter
looked through a window, and saw king David
leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she
despised him in her heart.
As the ark of the LORD was entering the City of David, Saul’s daughter Michal
looked down from a window and saw King David
leaping and dancing before the LORD, and she
despised him in her heart.
And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should show regard for a dead dog like me?”
And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
One evening David got up from his bed and
strolled around on the roof of the palace. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing—a very beautiful woman.
And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not
hearken unto our voice: how will he then
vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
On the seventh day the child died. But David’s servants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, “
Look, while the child was alive, we spoke to him, and he would not
listen to us. So how can we tell him the child is dead? He may even
harm himself.”
But
Absalom fled. And the young man that kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and
looked, and, behold, there came much people by the way of the hill side behind him.
Meanwhile,
Absalom had fled. When the young man standing watch
looked up, he saw many people coming down the road west of him, along the side of the hill. And the
watchman went and reported to the king, “I see men coming from the direction of Horonaim, along the side of the hill.”
And Jonadab said unto the king, Behold, the king’s sons come: as thy servant said, so it is.
So Jonadab said to the king, “Look, the sons of the king have arrived! It is just as your servant said.”
Therefore he said unto his servants, See,
Joab’s field is near mine, and he hath barley there; go and set it on fire. And
Absalom’s servants set the field on fire.
Then
Absalom said to his servants, “
Look,
Joab’s field is next to mine, and he has barley there. Go and set it on fire!” And
Absalom’s servants set the field on fire.
And
Absalom answered
Joab, Behold, I sent unto thee, saying, Come
hither, that I may send thee to the king, to say, Wherefore am I come from Geshur? it had been good for me to have been there still: now therefore let me see the king’s face; and if there be any iniquity in me, let him kill me.
“
Look,” said
Absalom, “I sent for you and said, ‘Come here. I want to send you to the king to ask: Why have I come back from Geshur? It would be better for me if I were still there.’ So now, let me see the king’s face, and if there is iniquity in me, let him kill me.”
And
Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man
deputed of the king to hear thee.
Absalom would say, “
Look, your claims are good and right, but the king has no deputy to hear you.”
It may be that the LORD will
look on mine
affliction, and that the LORD will requite me good for his
cursing this day.
