mighty acts of judgment I will bring the divisions of My people the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.

locust remained

And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a
memorial between thine eyes, that the LORD’S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.

forehead that the Law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For with a
mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.

And it shall be for a
token upon thine hand, and for

forehead, for with a
mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt.”

Canaan will
melt away,

Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I
consume thee in the way.

ephod, and that the

ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Then they
tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the
ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece was above the
waistband of the
ephod and would not
swing out from the
ephod, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

curse me this people; for they are too
mighty for me:
peradventure I shall prevail, that we may
smite them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I
wot that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is
cursed.
So please come now and put a
curse on this people, because they are too
mighty for me. Perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land; for I know that those you
bless are blessed, and those you
curse are
cursed.”

But Sihon king of
Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God
hardened his spirit, and made his heart
obstinate, that he
might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day.

stubborn and his heart
obstinate, that He
might deliver him into your hand, as is the case this day.
O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to
shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy
mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy
might?
“O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform such works and mighty acts as Yours?
And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye
might do them in the land
whither ye go over to possess it.
At that time the LORD commanded me to teach you the statutes and ordinances you are to follow in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess.
Or hath God
assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a
mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
Or has any god tried to take as his own a nation out of another nation—by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors—as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt, before your eyes?
Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.
You were shown these things so that you would know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides Him.
Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he
might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
He let you hear His voice from heaven to discipline you, and on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the fire.
And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;
Because He loved your fathers, He chose their descendants after them and brought you out of Egypt by His presence and great power,
To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.
to drive out before you nations greater and mightier than you, and to bring you into their land and give it to you for your inheritance, as it is this day.
That the
slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and
hated him not in times past; and that
fleeing unto one of these cities he
might live:
And remember that thou
wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a
mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. That is why the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
If only they had such a heart to fear Me and keep all My commandments always, so that it
might be well with them and with their children
forever.
Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye
might do them in the land
whither ye go to possess it:
These are the commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has
instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess,
That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.
Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase
mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may
prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s
bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a
mighty hand:
then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And he brought us out from thence, that he
might bring us in, to give us the land which he
sware unto our fathers.
But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He had
sworn to our fathers.
And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day.
When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land
whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the
Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the
Amorites, and the
Canaanites, and the
Perizzites, and the
Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and
mightier than thou;
When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to possess, and He drives out before you many nations—the
Hittites, Girgashites,
Amorites,
Canaanites,
Perizzites,
Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you—
But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had
sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a
mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
But because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He
swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a
mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out: so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid.
the great trials that you saw, the signs and wonders, and the mighty hand and outstretched arm by which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.
Thou shalt not be
affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a
mighty God and terrible.
Do not be
terrified by them, for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and
awesome God.
But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed.
But the LORD your God will give them over to you and throw them into great confusion, until they are destroyed.
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Remember that these forty years the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commandments.
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with
manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he
might make thee know that man
doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD
doth man live.
He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you
manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you
might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Who fed thee in the wilderness with
manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he
might humble thee, and that he
might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
He fed you in the wilderness with
manna that your fathers had not known, in order to humble you and test you, so that in the end He
might cause you to
prosper.
And thou say in thine heart, My power and the
might of mine hand hath
gotten me this wealth.
You might say in your heart, “The power and strength of my hands have made this wealth for me.”
Hear, O Israel: Thou art to pass over Jordan this day, to go in to possess nations greater and
mightier than
thyself, cities great and
fenced up to heaven,
Hear, O Israel:
Today you are about to cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities fortified to the heavens.
Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and
blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation
mightier and greater than they.
Leave Me alone, so that I may destroy them and
blot out their name from under heaven. Then I will make you into a nation
mightier and greater than they are.”
I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
And I prayed to the LORD and said, “O Lord GOD, do not destroy Your people, Your inheritance, whom You redeemed through Your greatness and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest out by thy mighty power and by thy stretched out arm.
But they are Your people, Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your great power and outstretched arm.”
For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great,
mighty, and
awesome God, showing no
partiality and accepting no
bribe.
And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the
chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his
mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
Know this day that it is not your children who have known and seen the discipline of the LORD your God: His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm;
Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and
mightier than
yourselves.
then the LORD will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.
Lest the
avenger of the blood pursue the
slayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and
slay him; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he
hated him not in time past.
Otherwise, the
avenger of blood
might pursue the
manslayer in a
rage, overtake him if the distance is great, and strike him dead though he did not deserve to die, since he did not intend any
harm.
And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A
Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and
sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great,
mighty, and
populous:
and you are to declare before the LORD your God, “My father was a wandering
Aramean, and he went down to Egypt few in number and lived there and became a great nation,
mighty and numerous.
And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:
Then the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with great terror, signs, and wonders.
Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, while your eyes grow
weary looking for them day after day, with no power in your hand.
Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye
drunk wine or strong drink: that ye
might know that I am the LORD your God.
You
ate no bread and
drank no wine or strong drink, so that you
might know that I am the LORD your God.
He made him
ride on the high places of the earth, that he
might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to
suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the
flinty rock;
He made him
ride on the heights of the land and fed him the produce of the field. He
nourished him with honey from the rock and oil from the
flinty crag,
And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.
and no prophet who performed all the
mighty acts of power and
awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
Your wives, your young children, and your
livestock may remain in the land that Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But all your
mighty men of
valor must be armed for battle to cross over
ahead of your brothers and help them,
That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.
He did this so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, and so that you may always fear the LORD your God.”
And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand
Jericho, and the king thereof, and the
mighty men of valour.
And the LORD said to Joshua, “Behold, I have delivered
Jericho into your hand, along with its king and its
mighty men of
valor.
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the
trumpet, all the people shall
shout with a great
shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall
ascend up every man straight before him.
And when there is a long blast of the ram’s horn and you hear its sound, have all the people give a
mighty shout. Then the wall of the city will
collapse and all your people will charge straight into the city.”
So Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up against
Ai: and Joshua chose out thirty thousand
mighty men of valour, and sent them away by night.
So Joshua and the whole army set out to attack
Ai. Joshua chose 30,000
mighty men of
valor and sent them out at night
