conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search
out a matter.
It is the glory of God to
conceal a matter and the glory of kings to search it
out.

out.

pluck it
out and young vultures
devour it.

out her hands to the
needy.
And I gave my heart to seek and search
out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this
sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised
therewith.
And I set my mind to seek and
explore by wisdom all that is done under heaven. What a heavy burden God has laid upon the sons of men to occupy them!
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:

hasty to go

And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.

out of the holy place, and they were praised in the city where they had done so. This too is
futile.
Then I
beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find
out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it
out, yet he shall not find it;
yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.
I saw every work of God, and that a man is unable to
comprehend the work that is done under the sun.
Despite his efforts to search it
out, he cannot find its meaning; even if the wise man claims to know, he is unable to
comprehend.

flies bring a
stench to the

In the day when the keepers of the house shall
tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look
out of the windows be
darkened,
on the day the keepers of the house
tremble and the strong men
stoop, when those
grinding cease because they are few and those watching through windows see
dimly,

out, and set in order many
proverbs.

out, and arranged many
proverbs.

out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke,
perfumed with
myrrh and
frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
Who is this coming up from the wilderness like a column of smoke,
scented with
myrrh and
frankincense from all the spices of the merchant?
King Solomon has made his carriage
out of the timber of
Lebanon.
Go forth, O ye daughters of
Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown
wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his
espousals, and in the day of the
gladness of his heart.
Come
out, O daughters of
Zion, and
gaze at King Solomon, wearing the crown his mother bestowed on the day of his
wedding— the day of his heart’s
rejoicing.
Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow
out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.
Awake, O north wind, and come, O south wind.
Breathe on my garden and spread the
fragrance of its spices. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choicest fruits.
My beloved is white and
ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
My beloved is
dazzling and
ruddy,
outstanding among ten thousand.
O that thou
wert as my brother, that
sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find thee without, I would
kiss thee;
yea, I should not be
despised.

nursed at my mother’s breasts! If I found you
outdoors, I would
kiss you, and no one would
despise me.
Solomon had a
vineyard at
Baal-
hamon; he let
out the
vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.
Solomon had a
vineyard in
Baal-
hamon. He
leased it to the tenants. For its fruit, each was to bring a thousand shekels of silver.
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you:
yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
When you spread
out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; even though you multiply your prayers, I will not
listen. Your hands are covered with blood.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for
out of
Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And many peoples will come and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from
Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he
fenced it, and gathered
out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
He
dug it up and cleared the stones and planted the finest vines. He built a
watchtower in the middle and
dug out a winepress as well. He waited for the
vineyard to yield good grapes, but the fruit it produced was
sour!
Therefore is the anger of the LORD
kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath
smitten them: and the hills did
tremble, and their carcases were
torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched
out still.
Therefore the anger of the LORD burns against His people; His hand is raised against them to strike them down. The mountains
quake, and the corpses lay like refuse in the streets.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
And one
cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet
Ahaz, thou, and
Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the
conduit of the upper
pool in the
highway of the fuller’s field;

out with your son
Shear-jashub to meet
Ahaz at the end of the
aqueduct that feeds the upper
pool, on the road to the
Launderer’s Field,
And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching
out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O
Immanuel.
It will pour into Judah,
swirling and
sweeping over it, reaching up to the neck; its spreading streams will cover your entire land, O
Immanuel!
The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall
devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched
out still.
Aram from the east and Philistia from the west have
devoured Israel with open mouths.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an
hypocrite and an
evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched
out still.
Therefore the Lord takes no pleasure in their young men; He has no
compassion on their fatherless and widows. For every one of them is godless and wicked, and every mouth speaks folly.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
And he shall
snatch on the right hand, and be
hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
They
carve out what is on the right, but they are still
hungry; they eat what is on the left, but they are still not satisfied. Each one devours the flesh of his own offspring.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim,
Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched
out still.
Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim
Manasseh; together they turn against Judah.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Nothing will remain but to
crouch among the
captives or fall among the slain.
Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.
For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
For the Lord GOD of Hosts will carry out the destruction decreed upon the whole land.
And there shall come forth a rod
out of the stem of
Jesse, and a Branch shall grow
out of his roots:
Then a shoot will spring up from the
stump of
Jesse, and a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.
And he shall set up an
ensign for the nations, and shall
assemble the
outcasts of Israel, and gather together the
dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
He will raise a
banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
And there shall be an
highway for the
remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up
out of the land of Egypt.
There will be a
highway for the
remnant of His people who remain from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation,
Cry
out and
shout, thou inhabitant of
Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
Cry
out and sing, O citizen of
Zion, for great among you is the Holy One of Israel.”
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land
desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof
out of it.
Behold, the Day of the LORD is coming— cruel, with
fury and burning anger— to make the earth a
desolation and to destroy the sinners within it.
Therefore I will
shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove
out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
Therefore I will make the heavens
tremble, and the earth will be
shaken from its place at the wrath of the LORD of Hosts on the day of His burning anger.
The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.
All the earth is at peace and at rest; they break out in song.
But thou art cast
out of thy grave like an
abominable branch, and as the
raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a
carcase trodden under feet.
But you are cast
out of your grave like a rejected branch, covered by those slain with the sword, and
dumped into a rocky pit like a
carcass trampled underfoot.
This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
This is the plan devised for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations.
For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall
disannul it? and his hand is stretched
out, and who shall turn it back?
The LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can
thwart Him? His hand is
outstretched, so who can turn it back?
