And they came, every one whose heart
stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
And
everyone whose heart
stirred him and whose spirit
prompted him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its services, and for the holy garments.
The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.
So all the men and women of the Israelites whose hearts
prompted them brought a
freewill offering to the LORD for all the work that the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do.
And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.
After Moses had given an order, they sent a
proclamation throughout the camp: “No man or woman should make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing more,
When a ruler hath
sinned, and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done, and is guilty;
When a leader sins
unintentionally and does what is
prohibited by any of the commandments of the LORD his God, he incurs guilt.
And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
And if one of the common people sins
unintentionally and does what is
prohibited by any of the LORD’s commandments, he incurs guilt.
Or if a soul
swear,
pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good,
whatsoever it be that a man shall
pronounce with an oath, and it be
hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
Or if someone swears
thoughtlessly with his lips to do anything good or evil—in whatever matter a man may
rashly pronounce an oath—even if he is unaware of it, when he realizes it, he is guilty in the matter.
If a soul commit a
trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his
trespass unto the LORD a ram without
blemish out of the flocks, with thy
estimation by shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for a
trespass offering:
“If someone acts unfaithfully and sins
unintentionally against any of the LORD’s holy things, he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram from the flock, of
proper value in silver shekels according to the sanctuary
shekel; it is a guilt offering.
And he shall bring a ram without
blemish out of the flock, with thy
estimation, for a
trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he
erred and
wist it not, and it shall be
forgiven him.
He is to bring to the priest an
unblemished ram of
proper value from the flock as a guilt offering. Then the priest will make
atonement on his behalf for the wrong he has committed in ignorance, and he will be
forgiven.
Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth,
sinning therein:
or finds lost property and lies about it and swears falsely, or if he commits any such sin that a man might commit—
Then it shall be, because he hath
sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath
deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
once he has
sinned and becomes guilty, he must return what he has
stolen or taken by
extortion, or the deposit entrusted to him, or the lost
property he found,
Then he must bring to the priest his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram of
proper value from the flock.
And the priest shall look on the plague in the skin of the flesh: and when the hair in the plague is turned white, and the plague in sight be deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is a plague of
leprosy: and the priest shall look on him, and
pronounce him unclean.
The priest is to examine the
infection on his skin, and if the hair in the
infection has turned white and the
sore appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a skin disease. After the priest examines him, he must
pronounce him unclean.
And the priest shall look on him again the seventh day: and, behold, if the plague be somewhat dark, and the plague spread not in the skin, the priest shall
pronounce him clean: it is but a
scab: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
The priest will examine him again on the seventh day, and if the
sore has
faded and has not spread on the skin, the priest shall
pronounce him clean; it is a
rash. The person must wash his clothes and be clean.
And if the priest see that, behold, the
scab spreadeth in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a
leprosy.
The priest will reexamine him, and if the
rash has spread on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; he has a skin disease.
It is an old
leprosy in the skin of his flesh, and the priest shall
pronounce him unclean, and shall not shut him up: for he is unclean.
it is a
chronic skin disease and the priest must
pronounce him unclean. He need not
isolate him, for he is unclean.
Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the
leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall
pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.
the priest shall examine him, and if the disease has covered his entire body, he is to
pronounce the
infected person clean. Since it has all turned white, he is clean.
And the priest shall see the raw flesh, and
pronounce him to be unclean: for the raw flesh is unclean: it is a
leprosy.
When the priest sees the raw flesh, he must
pronounce him unclean. The raw flesh is unclean; it is a skin disease.
And the priest shall see him: and, behold, if the plague be turned into white; then the priest shall
pronounce him clean that hath the plague: he is clean.
The priest will reexamine him, and if the
infection has turned white, the priest is to
pronounce the
infected person clean; then he is clean.
And if, when the priest
seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of
leprosy broken out of the
boil.
The priest shall examine it, and if it appears to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection that has broken out in the
boil.
And if it spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a plague.
If it spreads any further on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is an
infection.
But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning
boil; and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
But if the spot remains unchanged and does not spread, it is only the
scar from the
boil, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a
leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
the priest must examine it. If the hair in the spot has turned white and the spot appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a disease that has broken out in the burn. The priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
And the priest shall look upon him the seventh day: and if it be spread much abroad in the skin, then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine him, and if it has spread further on the skin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
And if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not in the skin, but it be somewhat dark; it is a rising of the burning, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean: for it is an inflammation of the burning.
But if the spot is unchanged and has not spread on the skin but has
faded, it is a swelling from the burn, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean; for it is only the
scar from the burn.
Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a dry
scall, even a
leprosy upon the head or
beard.
the priest shall examine the
infection, and if it appears to be deeper than the skin and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a
scaly outbreak, an
infectious disease of the head or
chin.
And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the
scall: and, behold, if the
scall be not spread in the skin, nor be in sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall
pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
On the seventh day the priest shall examine the
scaly outbreak, and if it has not spread on the skin and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, the priest is to
pronounce him clean. He must wash his clothes, and he will be clean.
But if the
scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the
scall is
healed, he is clean: and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
If, however, in his sight the
scaly outbreak is unchanged and black hair has grown in it, then it has
healed. He is clean, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean.
He is a
leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall
pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head.
the man is diseased; he is unclean. The priest must
pronounce him unclean because of the
infection on his head.
This is the law of the plague of
leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the
warp, or
woof, or any thing of skins, to
pronounce it clean, or to
pronounce it unclean.
And he shall
sprinkle upon him that is to be
cleansed from the
leprosy seven times, and shall
pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field.
Seven times he shall
sprinkle the one to be
cleansed of the skin disease. Then he shall
pronounce him clean and release the live bird into the open field.
And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall
pronounce the house clean, because the plague is
healed.
If, however, the priest comes and inspects it, and the
mildew has not spread after the house has been replastered, he shall
pronounce the house clean, because the
mildew is gone.
And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a
whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.
They must no longer offer their sacrifices to the goat demons to which they have
prostituted themselves. This will be a permanent statute for them for the generations to come.’
And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to
Molech, neither shalt thou
profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
You must not give any of your children to be sacrificed to
Molech, for you must not
profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
Therefore every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath
profaned the
hallowed thing of the LORD: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Whoever eats it will bear his iniquity, for he has
profaned what is holy to the LORD. That person must be cut off from his people.
And ye shall not
swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou
profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
You must not
swear falsely by My name and so
profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
And
whosoever lieth
carnally with a woman, that is a
bondmaid,
betrothed to an husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; she shall be
scourged; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.
If a man lies
carnally with a slave
girl promised to another man but who has not been redeemed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. But they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed.
Do not
prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a
whore; lest the land fall to
whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.
And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto
Molech, to
defile my sanctuary, and to
profane my holy name.
And I will set My face against that man and cut him off from his people, because by giving his offspring to
Molech, he has
defiled My sanctuary and
profaned My holy name.
Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a
whoring after him, to commit
whoredom with
Molech, from among their people.
then I will set My face against that man and his family and cut off from among their people both him and all who follow him in
prostituting themselves with
Molech.
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to
prostitute himself with them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.
But he shall not
defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to
profane himself.
He is not to
defile himself for those related to him by marriage, and so
profane himself.
They shall be holy unto their God, and not
profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.
They must be holy to their God and not
profane the name of their God. Because they present to the LORD the offerings made by fire, the food of their God, they must be holy.
They shall not take a wife that is a
whore, or
profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.
And the daughter of any priest, if she
profane herself by playing the
whore, she
profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by
prostituting herself, she
profanes her father; she must be burned in the fire.
Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor
profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the
anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
A widow, or a
divorced woman, or
profane, or an
harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.
Neither shall he
profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do
sanctify him.
so that he does not
defile his offspring among his people, for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.”
but because he has a defect, he must not go near the
veil or approach the altar, so as not to
desecrate My
sanctuaries. For I am the LORD who sanctifies them.’”
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they
profane not my holy name in those things which they
hallow unto me: I am the LORD.
“Tell Aaron and his sons to treat with respect the sacred offerings that the Israelites have consecrated to Me, so that they do not
profane My holy name. I am the LORD.
They shall therefore keep mine
ordinance, lest they bear sin for it, and die therefore, if they
profane it: I the LORD do
sanctify them.
The priests must keep My charge, lest they bear the guilt and die because they
profane it. I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
And they shall not
profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the LORD;
The priests must not
profane the sacred offerings that the Israelites present to the LORD
Neither shall ye
profane my holy name; but I will be
hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which
hallow you,
You must not
profane My holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy among the Israelites. I am the LORD who sanctifies you,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘These are My appointed feasts, the feasts of the LORD that you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies.
These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall
proclaim in their seasons.
These are the LORD’s appointed feasts, the sacred
assemblies you are to
proclaim at their appointed times.
And ye shall
proclaim on the
selfsame day, that it may be an holy
convocation unto you: ye shall do no
servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
On that same day you are to
proclaim a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live for the generations to come.
These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall
proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
These are the LORD’s appointed feasts, which you are to
proclaim as sacred
assemblies for presenting offerings by fire to the LORD—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its designated day.
Also in the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
On the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the
produce of the land, you are to
celebrate a feast to the LORD for seven days. There shall be complete rest on the first day and also on the eighth day.
And ye shall
hallow the
fiftieth year, and
proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
So you are to
consecrate the
fiftieth year and
proclaim liberty in the land for all its inhabitants. It shall be your
Jubilee, when each of you is to return to his
property and to his clan.
In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
In this Year of
Jubilee, each of you shall return to his own
property.
According to the multitude of years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of years thou shalt diminish the price of it: for according to the number of the years of the fruits
doth he sell unto thee.
You shall increase the price in proportion to a greater number of years, or decrease it in proportion to a lesser number of years; for he is selling you a given number of harvests.
And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not
sow, nor gather in our increase:
Now you may wonder, ‘What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not
sow or gather our
produce?’
And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a
redemption for the land.
Thus for every piece of
property you possess, you must
provide for the
redemption of the land.
If thy brother be
waxen poor, and hath sold away some of his possession, and if any of his
kin come to
redeem it, then shall he
redeem that which his brother sold.
If your brother becomes
impoverished and sells some of his
property, his nearest of
kin may come and
redeem what his brother has sold.
And if the man have none to
redeem it, and himself be able to
redeem it;
Or if a man has no one to
redeem it for him, but he
prospers and acquires enough to
redeem his land,
Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the
overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession.
he shall
calculate the years since its sale, repay the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and return to his
property.
But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
But if he cannot obtain enough to repay him, what he sold will remain in possession of the
buyer until the Year of
Jubilee. In the
Jubilee, however, it is to be released, so that he may return to his
property.
Take thou no
usury of him, or increase: but fear thy God; that thy brother may live with thee.
Do not take any interest or
profit from him, but fear your God, that your
countryman may live among you.
Thou shalt not give him thy money upon
usury, nor
lend him thy
victuals for increase.
You must not
lend him your silver at interest or sell him your food for
profit.
And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
Then he and his children are to be released, and he may return to his clan and to the property of his fathers.
Moreover of the children of the strangers that do
sojourn among you, of them shall ye
buy, and of their families that are with you, which they
begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
You may also purchase them from the foreigners residing among you or their clans living among you who are born in your land. These may become your property.
And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to
inherit them for a possession; they shall be your
bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
You may leave them to your sons after you to
inherit as
property; you can make them slaves for life. But as for your brothers, the Israelites, no man may rule harshly over his brother.
And if a
sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or
sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:
If a foreigner residing among you
prospers, but your
countryman dwelling near him becomes destitute and sells himself to the foreigner or to a member of his clan,
Either his uncle, or his uncle’s son, may
redeem him, or any that is
nigh of
kin unto him of his family may
redeem him; or if he be able, he may
redeem himself.
either his uncle or cousin or any close relative from his clan may
redeem him. Or if he
prospers, he may
redeem himself.
If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his
redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
If many years remain, he must pay for his
redemption in
proportion to his purchase price.
Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
I will give you rains in their season, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit.
And if ye will not yet for all this
hearken unto me, then I will
punish you seven times more for your sins.
And if after all this you will not obey Me, I will
proceed to
punish you
sevenfold for your sins.
And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.
and your strength will be spent in vain. For your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.
And if a man shall
sanctify unto the LORD some part of a field of his possession, then thy
estimation shall be according to the seed thereof: an homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.
If a man consecrates to the LORD a
parcel of his land, then your
valuation shall be
proportional to the seed required for it—fifty shekels of silver for every homer of barley seed.
But if he
sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall
reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it shall be
abated from thy
estimation.
But if he consecrates his field after the
Jubilee, the priest is to
calculate the price in
proportion to the years left until the next Year of
Jubilee, so that your
valuation will be reduced.
But the field, when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest’s.
When the field is released in the
Jubilee, it will become holy, like a field devoted to the LORD; it becomes the
property of the priests.
And if a man
sanctify unto the LORD a field which he hath bought, which is not of the fields of his possession;
Now if a man consecrates to the LORD a field he has purchased, which is not a part of his own property,
And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.
Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of Moses’ father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said: ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.”
And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they
prophesied, and did not cease.
Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him, and He took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and placed that Spirit on the seventy elders. As the Spirit rested on them, they
prophesied—but they never did so again.
But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was
Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they
prophesied in the camp.
Two men, however, had remained in the camp—one named
Eldad and the other Medad—and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those listed, but they had not gone out to the tent, and they
prophesied in the camp.
And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said,
Eldad and Medad do
prophesy in the camp.
A young man ran and reported to Moses, “
Eldad and Medad are
prophesying in the camp.”
And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD’S people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!
But Moses replied, “Are you
jealous on my account? I wish that all the LORD’s people were
prophets and that the LORD would place His Spirit on them!”
And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a
prophet among you, I, the LORD, will
reveal Myself to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a dream.
Only
rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
Only do not
rebel against the LORD, and do not be afraid of the people of the land, for they will be like bread for us. Their
protection has been removed, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them!”
And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people
provoke me? and how long will it be
ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?
And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people treat Me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in Me,
despite all the signs I have performed among them?
Surely they shall not see the land which I
sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that
provoked me see it:
not one will ever see the land that I
swore to give their fathers. None of those who have treated Me with contempt will see it.
After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your
iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of
promise.
In keeping with the forty days you
spied out the land, you shall bear your guilt forty years—a year for each day—and you will experience My
alienation.
And they rose up early in the morning, and
gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath
promised: for we have
sinned.
Early the next morning they got up and went up toward the ridge of the hill country. “We have indeed
sinned,” they said, “but we will go to the place the LORD has
promised.”
And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye
transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not
prosper.
But Moses said, “Why are you
transgressing the commandment of the LORD? This will not succeed!
And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a
vow, or in a
freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the
herd, or of the flock:
and you present an offering made by fire to the LORD from the
herd or flock to
produce a pleasing
aroma to the LORD—either a burnt offering or a sacrifice, for a special
vow or
freewill offering or appointed feast—
And it shall be unto you for a
fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a
whoring:
These will serve as tassels for you to look at, so that you may remember all the commandments of the LORD, that you may obey them and not
prostitute yourselves by following your own heart and your own eyes.
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and
swallow them up, with all that
appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have
provoked the LORD.
But if the LORD brings about something
unprecedented, and the earth opens its mouth and
swallows them and all that belongs to them so that they go down alive into
Sheol, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt.”
And it came to pass, that on the
morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was
budded, and brought forth buds, and
bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.
The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had
sprouted, put forth buds,
blossomed, and
produced almonds.
Therefore thou shalt say unto them, When ye have
heaved the best thereof from it, then it shall be counted unto the Levites as the increase of the threshingfloor, and as the increase of the winepress.
Therefore say to the Levites, ‘When you have presented the best part, it will be reckoned to you as the
