profit from him, but fear your God, that your

profit.

profit to suffer them.
Then

profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to
penury.

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and
vexation of spirit, and there was no
profit under the sun.
Yet when I considered all the works that my hands had accomplished and what I had
toiled to
achieve, I found everything to be
futile, a pursuit of the wind; there was nothing to be gained under the sun.

profit to the owner, except to behold them with his eyes?
And this also is a
sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what
profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?
This too is a
grievous evil: Exactly as a man is born, so he will depart. What does he gain as he toils for the wind?

futility—and how does that
profit anyone?

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and
anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the
viper and
fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young
asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not
profit them.
This is the burden against the beasts of the Negev: Through a land of
hardship and distress, of
lioness and lion, of
viper and flying serpent, they carry their wealth on the backs of

profit to them.

graven image are all of them vanity; and their
delectable things shall not
profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be

treasure are worthless. Their witnesses fail to see or
comprehend, so they are put to shame.

idol which
profits him nothing?

sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to

wearied yourself from your youth. Perhaps you will succeed; perhaps you will
inspire terror!
Thus saith the LORD, thy
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to
profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

transgressed against me, and the prophets
prophesied by

profit.

prophesied by
Baal and followed useless idols.

affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no
profit.

prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to
err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not
profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
“Indeed,” declares the LORD, “I am against those who
prophesy false dreams and retell them to lead My people
astray with their
reckless lies. It was not I who sent them or commanded them, and they are of no benefit at all to these people,” declares the LORD.
What
profiteth the
graven image that the maker thereof hath
graven it; the
molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make
dumb idols?
What use is an
idol, that a
craftsman should
carve it— or an image, a teacher of lies? For its maker trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what
profit is it that we have kept his

mournfully before the LORD of Hosts?
And if thy right eye
offend thee,
pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is
profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.
If your right eye causes you to sin,
gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into
hell.
And if thy right hand
offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is
profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into
hell.
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into
hell.
But ye say,
Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by
whatsoever thou mightest be
profited by me;
But you say that if
anyone says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is a gift devoted to God,’
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is
Corban, that is to say, a gift, by
whatsoever thou mightest be
profited by me; he shall be free.
But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, ‘Whatever you would have received from me is
Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God),
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
What does it
profit a man to gain the whole world, yet
forfeit his soul?
For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
What does it
profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose or
forfeit his very self?

Jew? Or what is the value of
circumcision?

profit; not that I may cast a

decorum and undivided devotion to the Lord.
Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it

Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I

sincerity, as men sent from God.

profiteth little: but

remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they
strive not about words to no
profit, but to the

comprehended it.

verily for a few days
chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our
profit, that we might be partakers of his
holiness.

holiness.

divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not
profited them that have been occupied therein.

doth it
profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and

spend a year there, carry on business, and make a
profit.”

merchandise, as he that hath no
profit by it: and he that buildeth, as he that shall not dwell therein:
Now therefore deal with me as seemeth best unto thee, and command my spirit to be taken from me, that I may be dissolved, and become earth: for it is
profitable for me to die rather than to live, because I have heard false reproaches, and have much sorrow: command therefore that I may now be delivered out of this distress, and go into the
everlasting place: turn not thy face away from me.
