All the king’s servants, and the people of the king’s provinces, do know, that
whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden
sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.
“All the royal officials and the people of the king’s provinces know that one law applies to every man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being
summoned—that he be put to death. Only if the king extends the gold
scepter may that person live. But I have not been
summoned to appear before the king for the past thirty days.”
Then were the king’s
scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month
Sivan, on the three and
twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that
Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the
deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto
Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
At once the royal
scribes were
summoned, and on the twenty-third day of the third month (the month of
Sivan), they recorded all of
Mordecai’s orders to the Jews and to the satraps, governors, and princes of the 127 provinces from India to
Cush—writing to each province in its own
script, to every people in their own language, and to the Jews in their own
script and language.

summoned Him and He answered me, I do not believe He would
listen to my voice.

drought of
summer.

summer heat.

summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a
fool.

The ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer;
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
spouse, with me from
Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and
Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards.
Come with me from
Lebanon, my
bride, come with me from
Lebanon! Descend from the
peak of Amana, from the
summits of Senir and
Hermon, from the dens of the lions, from the mountains of the leopards.
I have commanded my
sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that
rejoice in my highness.

sanctified ones; I have even
summoned My warriors to
execute My wrath and

Therefore I will
bewail with the
weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O
Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the
shouting for thy
summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.
So I
weep with Jazer for the vines of Sibmah; I
drench Heshbon and Elealeh with my tears.

summer fruit and your harvest.

fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!
Woe to the
majestic crown of Ephraim’s drunkards, to the
fading flower of his glorious
splendor, set on the
summit above the fertile valley, the pride of those overcome by wine.
And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a
fading flower, and as the
hasty fruit before the
summer; which when he that looketh upon it
seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.
The
fading flower of his beautiful
splendor, set on the
summit above the fertile valley, will be like a ripe fig before the
summer harvest:
Whoever sees it will take it in his hand and
swallow it.
Calling a
ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country:

summon a bird of prey from the east, a man for My purpose from a far-off land. Truly I have spoken, and truly I will bring it to pass. I have
planned it, and I will surely do it.
Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath

For thus saith the LORD unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou art
Gilead unto me, and the head of
Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

Gilead to Me, like the
summit of
Lebanon; but I will surely turn you into a desert, like cities that are uninhabited.
Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an
astonishment, and an
hissing, and perpetual desolations.

summon all the families of the north, declares the LORD, and I will send for My servant

devote them to destruction and make them an object of
horror and contempt, an
everlasting desolation.

Mizpah to represent you before the Chaldeans who come to us. As for you, gather wine grapes,
summer fruit, and oil, place them in your
storage jars, and live in the cities you have taken.”

O vine of Sibmah, I will
weep for thee with the
weeping of Jazer: thy plants are gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the
spoiler is fallen upon thy
summer fruits and upon thy
vintage.
I will
weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, more than I
weep for Jazer. Your tendrils have extended to the sea; they reach even to Jazer. The destroyer has descended on your
summer fruit and
grape harvest.
Thy terribleness hath
deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD.
The terror you cause and the pride of your heart have
deceived you, O dwellers in the clefts of the rocks, O occupiers of the mountain
summit. Though you
elevate your nest like the eagle, even from there I will bring you down,” declares the LORD.
Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape:

summoned an army against me to
crush my young warriors. Like grapes in a winepress, the Lord has
trampled the Virgin Daughter of Judah.

chaff of the
summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that
smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

begged me.

summoned the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what each one had

sprout leaves, you can see for
yourselves and know that
