And they returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and
smote all the country of the
Amalekites, and also the
Amorites that dwelt in Hazezon-tamar.
Then they turned back to
invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole
territory of the
Amalekites, as well as the
Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.
And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.
Any children born to you after them shall be yours, and they shall be called by the names of their brothers in the
territory they
inherit.
Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to
morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
But if you refuse to let My people go, I will bring locusts into your
territory tomorrow.
And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very
grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
The locusts
swarmed across the land and settled over the entire
territory of Egypt. Never before had there been so many locusts, and never again will there be.
And when we
cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the
uttermost of thy border:
and when we
cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice, sent an angel, and brought us out of Egypt. Now look, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your
territory.
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your
territory.”

From thence they removed, and pitched on the other side of
Arnon, which is in the wilderness that cometh out of the coasts of the
Amorites: for
Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the
Amorites.
From there they moved on and camped on the other side of the
Arnon, in the wilderness that extends into the Amorite
territory. Now the
Arnon is the border between the Moabites and the
Amorites.
Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.

And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of
Gad, and to the children of
Reuben, and unto half the tribe of
Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the
Amorites, and the kingdom of
Og king of
Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about.
So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of
Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the
Amorites and the kingdom of
Og king of
Bashan—the land including its cities and the
territory surrounding them.
And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth.
The cities that you
apportion from the
territory of the Israelites should be given to the Levites in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: more from a larger tribe and less from a smaller one.”
And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of
Esau, which dwell in
Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good

territory of your brothers, the descendants of
Esau, who live in
Seir. They will be afraid of you, so you must be very careful.

And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from
Gilead even unto the river
Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river
Jabbok, which is the border of the children of
Ammon;
and to the Reubenites and Gadites I gave the
territory from
Gilead to the
Arnon Valley (the middle of the valley was the border) and up to the
Jabbok River, the border of the
Ammonites.
Every place
whereon the soles of your feet shall
tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and
Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the
uttermost sea shall your coast be.
Every place where the sole of your foot treads will be yours. Your
territory will extend from the wilderness to
Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Western Sea.
When the LORD thy God shall
enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh,
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
When the LORD your God expands your
territory as He has promised, and you
crave meat and say, “I want to eat meat,” you may eat it whenever you want.
And if the LORD thy God
enlarge thy coast, as he hath
sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he promised to give unto thy fathers;
And if the LORD your God enlarges your
territory, as He
swore to your fathers, and gives you all the land He promised them,

Hittites—and west as far as the Great Sea.

Southward it was Ephraim’s, and northward it was
Manasseh’s, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in
Issachar on the east.
Ephraim’s
territory was to the south, and
Manasseh’s was to the north, having the Sea as its border and adjoining Asher on the north and
Issachar on the east.

Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of
Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of
Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem,
Dan, after the name of
Dan their father.
(Later, when the

asses, and the camels, and the

tidings to
Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.

Gath, for he said, “Otherwise they will report us, saying, ‘This is what David did.’” And this was David’s custom the whole time he lived in

ripped up the women with child of
Gilead, that they might
enlarge their border:
Pass ye unto
Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to
Hamath the great: then go down to
Gath of the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
Cross over to
Calneh and see; go from there to the great
Hamath; then go down to
Gath of the Philistines. Are you better than these kingdoms? Is their
territory larger than yours?

preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to
boast in another man’s line of things made ready to our hand.
