smote them there.
Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place
Baal-perazim.
So David and his men went up to
Baal-perazim, where he defeated the Philistines and said, “Like a
bursting flood, God has
burst out against my enemies by my hand.” So they called that place
Baal-perazim.
And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that
then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to
smite the host of the Philistines.
As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the
balsam trees, move out to battle, because this will mean that God has marched out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.”
Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
Then David said, “No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the LORD has chosen them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister before Him
forever.”
And David assembled the children of Aaron, and the Levites:
Then he gathered together the descendants of Aaron and the Levites:
And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a
loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a
flagon of wine.
Then he distributed to every man and woman of Israel a
loaf of bread, a date
cake, and a
raisin cake.
Asaph the chief, and next to him
Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed-
edom: and Jeiel with
psalteries and with harps; but
Asaph made a sound with cymbals;
Asaph was the chief,
Zechariah was second,
then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-
edom, and Jeiel. They were to play the harps and lyres, while
Asaph sounded the cymbals
Then on that day David delivered first this
psalm to
thank the LORD into the hand of
Asaph and his brethren.
On that day David first committed to
Asaph and his brothers this song of
thanksgiving to the LORD:
Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the LORD, because he cometh to judge the earth.
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth.
