laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put
water there, to wash
withal.
He placed the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing;
But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
The
entrails and legs must be washed with
water, and the priest shall burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
The
entrails and legs must be washed with
water, and the priest shall bring all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
The clay pot in which the sin offering is boiled must be broken; if it is boiled in a bronze pot, the pot must be
scoured and
rinsed with
water.

He washed the

water and burned the entire ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
These shall ye eat of all that are in the
waters:
whatsoever hath fins and scales in the
waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
Of all the creatures that live in the water, whether in the seas or in the streams, you may eat anything with fins and scales.
And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the
waters, and of any living thing which is in the
waters, they shall be an
abomination unto you:
But the following among all the
teeming life and creatures in the
water are
detestable to you: everything in the seas or streams that does not have fins and scales.
Everything in the
water that does not have fins and scales shall be
detestable to you.
And upon
whatsoever any of them, when they are dead,
doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or
raiment, or skin, or
sack,
whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into
water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be
cleansed.
When one of them dies and falls on something, that article becomes unclean; any article of wood, clothing, leather,
sackcloth, or any
implement used for work must be
rinsed with
water and will remain unclean until evening; then it will be clean.

water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be

carcass in it will be unclean.
But if any
water be put upon the seed, and any part of their
carcase fall
thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.

water has been put on the seed and a
carcass falls on it, it is unclean for you.
This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

water, and all creatures that
crawl along the ground.

earthen vessel over running
water:

cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the
hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running
water:

hyssop, and dip them into the blood of the bird that was slaughtered over the fresh
water.

water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall
tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.
The one being
cleansed must wash his clothes,
shave off all his hair, and
bathe with
water; then he will be
ceremonially clean. Afterward, he may enter the camp, but he must remain outside his tent for seven days.
But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall
shave all his hair off his head and his
beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall
shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in
water, and he shall be clean.
On the seventh day he must
shave off all his hair—his head, his
beard, his eyebrows, and the rest of his hair. He must wash his clothes and
bathe himself with
water, and he will be clean.
And he shall kill the one of the birds in an
earthen vessel over running
water:
and he shall slaughter one of the birds over fresh water in a clay pot.
And he shall take the
cedar wood, and the
hyssop, and the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running
water, and
sprinkle the house seven times:
Then he shall take the
cedar wood, the
hyssop, the scarlet yarn, and the live bird, dip them in the blood of the slaughtered bird and the fresh
water, and
sprinkle the house seven times.
And he shall
cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running
water, and with the living bird, and with the
cedar wood, and with the
hyssop, and with the scarlet:
And he shall
cleanse the house with the bird’s blood, the fresh
water, the live bird, the
cedar wood, the
hyssop, and the scarlet yarn.

And if he that hath the issue
spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in
water, and be unclean until the even.
If the man with the discharge spits on one who is clean, that person must wash his clothes and
bathe with
water, and he will be unclean until evening.

water, and be unclean until the even.

bathe with

water.
And when he that hath an issue is
cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his
cleansing, and wash his clothes, and
bathe his flesh in running
water, and shall be clean.

cleansed from his discharge, he must count off seven days for his
cleansing, wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in fresh
water, and he shall be clean.

copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in
water, and be unclean until the even.
When a man has an
emission of
semen, he must
bathe his whole body with
water, and he will be unclean until evening.
And every garment, and every skin,
whereon is the seed of
copulation, shall be washed with
water, and be unclean until the even.
Any clothing or leather on which there is an
emission of
semen must be washed with
water, and it will remain unclean until evening.
The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of
copulation, they shall both
bathe themselves in
water, and be unclean until the even.
If a man lies with a woman and there is an
emission of
semen, both must
bathe with
water, and they will remain unclean until evening.
And
whosoever toucheth her bed shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in
water, and be unclean until the even.
and

bathe with
water, and he will be unclean until evening.
And
whosoever toucheth any thing that she sat upon shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in
water, and be unclean until the even.

bathe with
water, and he will be unclean until evening.

whosoever toucheth those things shall be unclean, and shall wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in
water, and be unclean until the even.
Anyone who touches these things will be unclean; he must wash his clothes and
bathe with
water, and he will be unclean until evening.
He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen
breeches upon his flesh, and shall be
girded with a linen
girdle, and with the linen
mitre shall he be
attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in
water, and so put them on.
He is to wear the sacred linen
tunic, with linen undergarments. He must
tie a linen
sash around him and put on the linen
turban. These are holy garments, and he must
bathe himself with
water before he wears them.
And he shall wash his flesh with
water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an
atonement for himself, and for the people.
He is to
bathe himself with
water in a holy place and put on his own clothes. Then he must go out and sacrifice his burnt offering and the people’s burnt offering to make
atonement for himself and for the people.
And he that let go the goat for the
scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and
bathe his flesh in
water, and afterward come into the camp.
The man who released the goat as the
scapegoat must wash his clothes and
bathe himself with
water; afterward he may reenter the camp.
And he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and
bathe his flesh in
water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

bathe himself with
water, and afterward he may reenter the camp.
And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was

bathe himself in
water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.

the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
And the priest shall take holy
water in an
earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the
water:
Then he is to take some holy
water in a clay
jar and put some of the dust from the tabernacle floor into the
water.
And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter
water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter
water that brings a
curse.
And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have
lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter
water that causeth the
curse:
And he is to put the woman under oath and say to her, ‘If no other man has
slept with you and you have not gone
astray and become
defiled while under your husband’s authority, may you be
immune to this bitter
water that brings a
curse.
May this
water that brings a
curse enter your stomach and cause your
belly to swell and your
thigh to
shrivel.’ Then the woman is to say, ‘
Amen,
Amen.’
And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall
blot them out with the bitter
water:
And the priest shall write these curses on a
scroll and wash them off into the bitter
water.
And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter
water that causeth the
curse: and the
water that causeth the
curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
He is to have the woman drink the bitter
water that brings a
curse, and it will enter her and cause her bitter suffering.
And the priest shall take an handful of the offering, even the
memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the
water.
Then the priest is to take a handful of the grain offering as a
memorial portion and burn it on the altar; after that he is to have the woman drink the
water.
And when he hath made her to drink the
water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be
defiled, and have done
trespass against her husband, that the
water that causeth the
curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her
belly shall swell, and her
thigh shall
rot: and the woman shall be a
curse among her people.
When he has made her drink the
water, if she has
defiled herself and been unfaithful to her husband, then the
water that brings a
curse will enter her and cause bitter suffering; her
belly will swell, her
thigh will
shrivel, and she will become
accursed among her people.
And thus shalt thou do unto them, to
cleanse them:
Sprinkle water of
purifying upon them, and let them
shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall
bathe his flesh in
water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
Then the priest must wash his clothes and
bathe his body in
water; after that he may enter the camp, but he will be
ceremonially unclean until evening.
And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in
water, and
bathe his flesh in
water, and shall be unclean until the even.
The one who burned the
heifer must also wash his clothes and
bathe his body in
water, and he too will be
ceremonially unclean until evening.
And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the
heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a
water of separation: it is a
purification for sin.
He shall
purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he
purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
He must
purify himself with the
water on the third day and on the seventh day; then he will be clean. But if he does not
purify himself on the third and seventh days, he will not be clean.
Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the
water of separation was not
sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
Anyone who touches a human
corpse and fails to
purify himself defiles the tabernacle of the LORD. That person must be cut off from Israel. He remains unclean, because the
water of
purification has not been
sprinkled on him, and his uncleanness is still on him.
And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt
heifer of
purification for sin, and running
water shall be put
thereto in a vessel:
For the
purification of the unclean person, take some of the ashes of the burnt sin offering, put them in a
jar, and pour fresh
water over them.
And a clean person shall take
hyssop, and dip it in the
water, and
sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
Then a man who is
ceremonially clean is to take some
hyssop, dip it in the
water, and
sprinkle the tent, all the furnishings, and the people who were there. He is also to
sprinkle the one who touched a bone, a grave, or a person who has died or been slain.
And the clean person shall
sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall
purify himself, and wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in
water, and shall be clean at even.
The man who is
ceremonially clean is to
sprinkle the unclean person on the third day and on the seventh day. After he purifies the unclean person on the seventh day, the one being
cleansed must wash his clothes and
bathe in
water, and that evening he will be clean.
But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not
purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath
defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the
water of separation hath not been
sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
But if a person who is unclean does not
purify himself, he will be cut off from the assembly, because he has
defiled the sanctuary of the LORD. The
water of
purification has not been
sprinkled on him; he is unclean.
And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
This is a permanent statute for the people: The one who sprinkles the
water of
purification must wash his clothes, and
whoever touches the
water of
purification will be unclean until evening.
And there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
Now there was no water for the congregation, so they gathered against Moses and Aaron.
And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
Why have you led us up out of Egypt to bring us to this
wretched place? It is not a place of grain, figs, vines, or pomegranates—and there is no
water to drink!”
Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
“Take the staff and
assemble the congregation. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock while they watch, and it will pour out its
water. You will bring out
water from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their
livestock.”
And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we
fetch you
water out of this rock?
Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly in front of the rock, and Moses said to them, “
Listen now, you rebels, must we bring you
water out of this rock?”
And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he
smote the rock twice: and the
water came out abundantly, and the congregation
drank, and their beasts also.
Then Moses raised his hand and struck the rock twice with his staff, so that a great amount of
water gushed out, and the congregation and their
livestock were able to drink.
This is the
water of Meribah; because the children of Israel
strove with the LORD, and he was
sanctified in them.
These were the
waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the LORD, and He showed His
holiness among them.
Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king’s high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.
Please let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink
water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway; we will not turn to the right or to the left until we have passed through your territory.”
And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing any thing else, go through on my feet.
“We will stay on the main road,” the Israelites replied, “and if we or our herds drink your water, we will pay for it. There will be no problem; only let us pass through on foot.”
Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.
“Aaron will be gathered to his people; he will not enter the land that I have given the Israelites, because both of you rebelled against My command at the waters of Meribah.
And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
and spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you led us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or
water, and we
detest this
wretched food!”
And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well
whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them
water.
From there they went on to Beer, the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people so that I may give them water.”
Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders.
“Let us pass through your land. We will not cut through any field or
vineyard, or drink
water from any well. We will stay on the King’s
Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river’s side, as the trees of lign
aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as
cedar trees beside the
waters.
They spread out like palm groves, like gardens beside a stream, like
aloes the LORD has planted, like cedars beside the
waters.
He shall pour the
water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many
waters, and his king shall be higher than
Agag, and his kingdom shall be
exalted.
Water will flow from his buckets, and his seed will have abundant
water. His king will be greater than
Agag, and his kingdom will be
exalted.
For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the
strife of the congregation, to
sanctify me at the
water before their eyes: that is the
water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
for when the congregation
contended in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My
holiness in their sight regarding the
waters.” Those were the
waters of Meribah in Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
Every thing that may
abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be
purified with the
water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the
water.
everything that can
withstand the fire—must be put through the fire, and it will be clean. But it must still be
purified with the
water of
purification. And everything that cannot
withstand the fire must pass through the
water.
And they removed from
Marah, and came unto Elim: and in Elim were twelve fountains of
water, and
threescore and ten palm trees; and they pitched there.
They set out from
Marah and came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there.
And they removed from Alush, and
encamped at
Rephidim, where was no
water for the people to drink.
They set out from Alush and camped at
Rephidim, where there was no
water for the people to drink.
Ye shall
buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also
buy water of them for money, that ye may drink.
You are to pay them in silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.’”
Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet;
You can sell us food to eat and water to drink in exchange for silver. Only let us pass through on foot,
The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:
or of any creature that crawls on the ground or fish that is in the waters below.
Thou shalt not make thee any
graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
waters beneath the earth:
You shall not make for
yourself an
idol in the form of anything in the heavens above, on the earth below, or in the
waters beneath.
For the LORD thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of
brooks of
water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills;
For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of
brooks and fountains and springs that flow through the valleys and hills;
Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were
fiery serpents, and scorpions, and
drought, where there was no
water; who brought thee forth
water out of the rock of flint;
He led you through the vast and
terrifying wilderness with its
venomous snakes and scorpions, a
thirsty and
waterless land. He brought you
water from the rock of flint.
When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
When I went up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the LORD made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I
ate no bread and
drank no
water.
And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink
water, because of all your sins which ye
sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
Then I fell down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, as I had done the first time. I did not eat bread or drink
water because of all the sin you had committed in doing what was evil in the sight of the LORD and
provoking Him to anger.
From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters.
From there they traveled to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water.
And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their
chariots; how he made the
water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
what He did to the Egyptian army and horses and
chariots when He made the
waters of the Red Sea
engulf them as they pursued you, and how He destroyed them completely, even to this day;
For the land,
whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and
wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
For the land that you are entering to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you
sowed your seed and
irrigated on foot, like a vegetable garden.
But the land,
whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh
water of the rain of heaven:
But the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks in the rain from heaven.
Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
but you must not eat the blood; pour it on the ground like water.
Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
You must not eat the blood; pour it on the ground like water.
These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
Of all the creatures that live in the water, you may eat anything with fins and scales,
Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
But you must not eat the blood; pour it on the ground like water.
And the elders of that city shall bring down the
heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the
heifer’s neck there in the valley:
bring the
heifer to a valley with running
water that has not been
plowed or sown, and break its neck there by the stream.
Because they met you not with bread and with
water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they
hired against thee
Balaam the son of Beor of
Pethor of
Mesopotamia, to
curse thee.
For they did not meet you with food and
water on your way out of Egypt, and they
hired Balaam son of Beor from
Pethor in
Aram-naharaim to
curse you.
