O God, thou art my God; early
will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and
thirsty land, where no water is;
O God, You are my God. Earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You. My body yearns for You in a dry and
weary land without water.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Because Your loving devotion is better than life, my lips
will glorify You.
Thus
will I
bless thee while I live: I
will lift up my hands in thy name.
So I
will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I
will lift my hands.
My soul shall be satisfied as with
marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
My soul is satisfied as with the richest of foods; with joyful lips my mouth will praise You.
Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings
will I
rejoice.
For You are my help; I will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
But those who seek my life to destroy it will go into the depths of the earth.

They will fall to the power of the sword; they will become a portion for foxes.

rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

will rejoice in God; all who
swear by Him
will exult, for the mouths of liars
will be shut.
They
encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares
privily; they say, Who shall see them?
They hold fast to their evil purpose; they speak of hiding their snares. “Who will see them?” they say.
But God shall shoot at them with an
arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be wounded.

flee away.
They
will be made to
stumble, their own tongues turned against them. All who see
will shake their heads.
And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
Then all mankind
will fear and
proclaim the work of God; so they
will ponder what He has done.
Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in
Sion: and unto thee shall the
vow be performed.
Praise awaits You, O God, in
Zion; to You our vows
will be fulfilled.

O You who
listen to prayer, all people
will come to You.
I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
I
will enter Your house with burnt offerings; I
will fulfill my vows to You—
I
will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I
will offer bullocks with goats.
Selah.
I
will offer You fatlings as burnt offerings, with the
fragrant smoke of rams; I
will offer bulls and goats.
Selah Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
Come and
listen, all you who fear God, and I
will declare what He has done for me.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
As smoke is
blown away, You
will drive them out; as wax melts before the fire, the wicked
will perish in the presence of God.

leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in;
yea, the LORD
will dwell in it for ever.
Why do you
gaze in
envy, O mountains of many peaks? This is the mountain God chose for His dwelling, where the LORD
will surely dwell
forever.
But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the
hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
Surely God
will crush the heads of His enemies, the
hairy crowns of those who
persist in guilty ways.
The Lord said, I
will bring again from
Bashan, I
will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:
The Lord said, “I
will retrieve them from
Bashan, I
will bring them up from the depths of the sea,
Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.
Because of Your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring You gifts.
Princes shall come out of Egypt;
Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.
Envoys
will arrive from Egypt;
Cush will stretch out her hands to God.
This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or
bullock that hath horns and
hoofs.
And this
will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with horns and
hooves.

glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
The humble
will see and
rejoice. You who seek God, let your hearts be revived!

will save
Zion, and
will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
For God
will save
Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah, that they may dwell there and possess it.
The seed also of his servants shall
inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
The descendants of His servants
will inherit it, and those who love His name
will settle in it.

But I will always hope and will praise You more and more.
My mouth shall
shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.
My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot know their full measure.
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
I
will enter in the strength of the Lord GOD; I
will proclaim Your righteousness—Yours alone.
Thou, which hast shewed me great and
sore troubles, shalt
quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up.
Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
I
will also praise thee with the
psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee
will I sing with the
harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
So I
will praise You with the
harp for Your faithfulness, O my God; I
will sing praise to You with the
lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
My lips shall greatly
rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
When I sing praise to You my lips
will shout for joy, along with my soul, which You have redeemed.
My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my
hurt.
My tongue
will indeed
proclaim Your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my
harm are disgraced and confounded.
For he shall deliver the
needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
For he
will deliver the
needy who cry out and the
afflicted who have no helper.

redeem their soul from
deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
He
will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their blood is precious in his sight.
If I say, I
will speak thus; behold, I should
offend against the generation of thy children.
If I had said, “I
will speak this way,” then I would have
betrayed Your children.
For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a
whoring from thee.
Those far from You will surely perish; You destroy all who are unfaithful to You.
They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
They said in their hearts, “We
will crush them completely.” They burned down every place where God met us in the land.
We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
There are no signs for us to see. There is no longer any prophet. And none of us knows how long this will last.
O God, how long shall the
adversary reproach? shall the enemy
blaspheme thy name for ever?
When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
“When I choose a time, I will judge fairly.
But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
All the horns of the wicked also
will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be
exalted.
“All the horns of the wicked I
will cut off, but the horns of the righteous
will be
exalted.”

Even the wrath of man shall praise You; with the survivors of wrath You
will clothe Yourself.

spurn us
forever and never show His favor again?
And I said, This is my
infirmity: but I
will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
So I said, “I am
grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed.”
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
I
will remember the works of the LORD;
yes, I
will remember Your wonders of old.
I
will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
I
will reflect on all You have done and
ponder Your mighty deeds.
I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the beginning,
We
will not hide them from their children,
shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
We will not hide them from their children, but will declare to the next generation the praises of the LORD and His might, and the wonders He has performed.
And might not be as their fathers, a
stubborn and
rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart
aright, and whose spirit was not
stedfast with God.
Then they
will not be like their fathers, a
stubborn and
rebellious generation, whose heart was not
loyal, whose spirit was not faithful to God.
And they
tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their
lust.
How long, LORD?
wilt thou be
angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
How long, O LORD?
Will You be
angry forever?
Will Your jealousy burn like fire?
So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture
will give thee
thanks for ever: we
will shew forth thy praise to all generations.
Then we Your people, the sheep of Your pasture,
will thank You
forever; from generation to generation we
will declare Your praise.
O LORD God of hosts, how long
wilt thou be
angry against the prayer of thy people?
O LORD God of Hosts, how long
will Your anger
smolder against the prayers of Your people?
So
will not we go back from thee:
quicken us, and we
will call upon thy name.
Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name.
Hear, O My people, and I
will warn you: O Israel, if only you would
listen to Me!
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth, and I will fill it.
How long
will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked?
Selah.
They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
They do not know or understand; they
wander in the darkness; all the foundations of the earth are
shaken.
But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
But like mortals you will die, and like rulers you will fall.”
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they
will be still praising thee.
Selah.
How blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They are ever praising You.
Selah For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD
will give grace and glory: no good thing
will he
withhold from them that walk uprightly.
For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with
integrity.
Wilt thou be
angry with us for ever?
wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?
Will You be
angry with us
forever?
Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may
rejoice in thee?
Will You not revive us again, that Your people may
rejoice in You?
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
I
will listen to what God the LORD
will say; for He
will surely speak peace to His people and His saints; He
will not let them return to folly.
Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
The LORD will indeed provide what is good, and our land will yield its increase.
Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
Righteousness will go before Him to prepare the way for His steps.
In the day of my trouble I
will call upon thee: for thou
wilt answer me.
In the day of my distress I call on You, because You answer me.
All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall
glorify thy name.
All the nations You have made
will come and bow before You, O Lord, and they
will glorify Your name.
Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
I
will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I
will glorify thy name for
evermore.
I
will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I
will glorify Your name
forever.
I
will make mention of
Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with
Ethiopia; this man was born there.
“I
will mention
Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me— along with Philistia, Tyre, and
Cush— when I say, ‘This one was born in
Zion.’”
And of
Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.
And it
will be said of
Zion: “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High Himself
will establish her.”
The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there.
Selah.
The LORD
will record in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in
Zion.”
Selah As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.
Singers and pipers
will proclaim, “All my springs of joy are in You.”
Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of
forgetfulness?
Will Your wonders be known in the darkness, or Your righteousness in the land of
oblivion?
I
will sing of the
mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth
will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
I
will sing of the loving devotion of the LORD
forever; with my mouth I
will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations.
Thy seed
will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations.
Selah.
‘I
will establish your offspring
forever and build up your throne for all generations.’”
Selah With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall
strengthen him.
The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness
afflict him.
No enemy
will exact tribute; no wicked man
will oppress him.
And I
will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that
hate him.
I
will crush his foes before him and strike down those who
hate him.
But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be
exalted.
My faithfulness and loving devotion
will be with him, and through My name his horn
will be
exalted.
I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
I will set his hand over the sea, and his right hand upon the rivers.
He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
He will call to Me, ‘You are my Father, my God, the Rock of my salvation.’
Also I
will make him my
firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
I
will indeed
appoint him as My
firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
My mercy
will I keep for him for
evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
I
will forever preserve My loving devotion for him, and My covenant with him
will stand fast.
His seed also
will I make to
endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
I
will establish his line
forever, his throne as long as the heavens
endure.
Then
will I visit their
transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
I
will attend to their
transgression with the rod, and to their iniquity with stripes.
Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
But I
will not withdraw My loving devotion from him, nor ever
betray My faithfulness.
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Once and for all I have
sworn by My
holiness— I
will not lie to David—
How long, LORD?
wilt thou hide
thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
How long, O LORD?
Will You hide
Yourself forever?
Will Your wrath keep burning like fire?
Return, O LORD, how long? and let it
repent thee concerning thy servants.
Return, O LORD! How long
will it be? Have
compassion on Your servants.
