welfare of this people, but the

Then the officials said to the king, “This man ought to die, for he is discouraging the warriors who remain in this city, as well as all the people, by speaking such words to them; this man is not seeking the well-being of these people, but their ruin.”

remnant of Judah! This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you are determined to go to Egypt and reside there,

vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely
accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: As for you and your wives, you have spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hands your
words: ‘We will surely perform our vows that we have made to burn incense to the Queen of Heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her.’ Go
ahead, then, do what you have promised! Keep your vows!

word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have
sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.
Nevertheless, hear the
word of the LORD, all you people of Judah living in Egypt: Behold, I have
sworn by My great name, says the LORD, that never again will any man of Judah living in the land of Egypt
invoke My name or say, ‘As surely as the Lord GOD lives.’
Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the
remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, shall know whose

Those who escape the sword will return from Egypt to Judah, few in number, and the whole
remnant of Judah who went to dwell in the land of Egypt will know whose
word will stand, Mine or theirs!
And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will
punish you in this place, that ye may know that my
words shall surely stand against you for evil:
This will be a sign to you that I will
punish you in this place, declares the LORD, so that you may know that My threats of

So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.
Jeremiah had written on a single
scroll about all the
disaster that would come upon Babylon—all these
words that had been written concerning Babylon.
And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, and shalt see, and shalt read all these words;
And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, “When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these
words aloud,
And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be
weary. Thus far are the
words of Jeremiah.
Then you are to say, ‘In the same way Babylon will sink and never rise again, because of the
disaster I will bring upon her. And her people will grow
weary.’” Here end the
words of Jeremiah.
The LORD hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his
word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not
pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to
rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine
adversaries.
The LORD has done what He
planned; He has accomplished His decree, which He ordained in days of old; He has overthrown you without
pity. He has let the enemy
gloat over you and
exalted the horn of your foes.

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their
words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou
dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their
words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a
rebellious house.
But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their
words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns
surround you, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their
words or dismayed by their presence, though they are a
rebellious house.
And thou shalt speak my
words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will
forbear: for they are most
rebellious.
And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein
lamentations, and
mourning, and
woe.
which He unrolled before me. And written on the front and back of it were
words of
lamentation,
mourning, and
woe.
And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
Then He said to me, “Son of man, go now to the house of Israel and speak My words to them.
Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose
words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have
hearkened unto thee.
not to the many peoples of unfamiliar speech and difficult language whose
words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have
listened to you.
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
“Son of man,” He added, “
listen carefully to all the
words I speak to you, and take them to heart.
And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

word at my mouth, and give them
warning from me.
“Son of man, I have made you a
watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a
word from My mouth, give them a
warning from Me.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
You are to say: ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
And in the morning the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the
word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O
rebellious house, will I say the
word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
because I, the LORD, will speak whatever
word I speak, and it will be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, O
rebellious house, I will speak a message and bring it to pass, declares the Lord GOD.’”
Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.
Therefore tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘None of My words will be delayed any longer. The message I speak will be fulfilled, declares the Lord GOD.’”
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Son of man,
prophesy against the prophets of Israel that
prophesy, and say thou unto them that
prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the
word of the LORD;
“Son of man,
prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now
prophesying. Tell those who
prophesy out of their own imagination: Hear the
word of the LORD!
They have seen vanity and lying
divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would
confirm the
word.
They see false visions and speak lying divinations. They claim, ‘Thus declares the LORD,’ when the LORD did not send them; yet they wait for the
fulfillment of their message.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Because you have uttered vain words and seen false visions, I am against you, declares the Lord GOD.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Then came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy
word toward the south, and
prophesy against the forest of the south field;
“Son of man, set your face toward the south,
preach against it, and
prophesy against the forest of the Negev.
And say to the forest of the south, Hear the
word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will
kindle a fire in thee, and it shall
devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be
quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.
Say to the forest of the Negev: Hear the
word of the LORD! This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to
ignite in you a fire, and it will
devour all your trees, both green and dry. The
blazing flame will not be
quenched, and by it every face from south to north will be
scorched.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy
word toward the holy places, and
prophesy against the land of Israel,
Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
So I answered them, “The word of the LORD came to me, saying:
The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And say unto the
Ammonites, Hear the
word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst,
Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was
profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was
desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
Tell the
Ammonites to hear the
word of the Lord GOD, for this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you
exclaimed, “
Aha!” when My sanctuary was
profaned, when the land of Israel was laid waste, and when the house of Judah went into exile,
And it came to pass in the
eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the

twelfth day of the month, the
word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In the tenth year, on the
twelfth day of the tenth month, the
word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And it came to pass in the seven and
twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the
word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In the twenty-seventh year, on the first day of the first month, the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And it came to pass in the
eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the
word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In the
eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the
word of the LORD came to me, saying,
And it came to pass in the
eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the
word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
In the
eleventh year, on the first day of the third month, the
word of the LORD came to me, saying,

As for you, O son of man, I have made you a
watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the
word from My mouth and give them the
warning from Me.
Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.
As for you, son of man, your people are talking about you near the city walls and in the doorways of their houses. One speaks to another, each saying to his brother, ‘Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD!’
And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy
words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they
shew much love, but their heart goeth after their
covetousness.
So My people come to you as usual, sit before you, and hear your
words; but they do not put them into practice. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue
dishonest gain.
