And the Egyptians were
urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in
haste; for they said, We be
all dead men.
And in order to send them out of the land quickly, the Egyptians urged the people on. “For otherwise,” they said, “we are all going to die!”
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the
selfsame day it came to pass, that
all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.
At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the LORD’s divisions went out of the land of Egypt.
It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations.
Because the LORD kept a
vigil that night to bring them out of the land of Egypt, this same night is to be a
vigil to the LORD, to be observed by
all the Israelites for the generations to come.
All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
The whole congregation of Israel must
celebrate it.
And when a stranger shall
sojourn with thee, and will keep the
passover to the LORD, let
all his males be
circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no
uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
Then all the Israelites did this—they did just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron.
Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no
leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be
leaven seen with thee in
all thy quarters.
That thou shalt set apart unto the LORD
all that openeth the
matrix, and every
firstling that cometh of a beast which thou hast; the males shall be the LORD’S.
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that the LORD
slew all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the
firstborn of man, and the
firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to the LORD
all that openeth the
matrix, being males; but
all the
firstborn of my children I
redeem.
And when Pharaoh
stubbornly refused to let us go, the LORD killed every
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both of man and beast. This is why I sacrifice to the LORD the
firstborn male of every
womb, but I
redeem all the
firstborn of my sons.’
And I will
harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon
all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.
And I will
harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will pursue them. But I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and
all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So this is what the Israelites did.
And he took six hundred chosen
chariots, and
all the
chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them.
He took 600 of the best
chariots, and
all the other
chariots of Egypt, with officers over
all of them.
But the Egyptians pursued after them,
all the horses and
chariots of Pharaoh, and his
horsemen, and his army, and overtook them
encamping by the sea, beside
Pi-hahiroth, before
Baal-zephon.
The Egyptians—
all Pharaoh’s horses and
chariots,
horsemen and troops—pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near
Pi-hahiroth, opposite
Baal-zephon.
And I, behold, I will
harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon
all his host, upon his
chariots, and upon his
horsemen.
And I will
harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. Then I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and
all his army and
chariots and
horsemen.
And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
so that it came between the camps of Egypt and Israel. The cloud was there in the darkness, but it
lit up the night. So
all night long neither camp went near the other.
And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,
And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even
all Pharaoh’s horses, his
chariots, and his
horsemen.
And the Egyptians
chased after them—
all Pharaoh’s horses,
chariots, and
horsemen—and followed them into the sea.
And the waters returned, and covered the
chariots, and the
horsemen, and
all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
The waters flowed back and covered the
chariots and
horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had
chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
Then the dukes of
Edom shall be
amazed; the mighty men of Moab,
trembling shall take hold upon them;
all the inhabitants of
Canaan shall
melt away.
Then the chiefs of
Edom will be dismayed;
trembling will seize the leaders of Moab; those who dwell in
Canaan will
melt away,
Then
Miriam the
prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a
tambourine in her hand, and
all the women followed her with tambourines and dancing.
And said, If thou
wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and
wilt do that which is right in his sight, and
wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep
all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
saying, “If you will
listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and pay attention to His commands, and keep
all His statutes, then I will not bring on you any of the diseases I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”
And they took their journey from Elim, and
all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and
Sinai, on the
fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.
On the
fifteenth day of the second month after they had left the land of Egypt, the whole congregation of Israel set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and
Sinai.
And the whole congregation of the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
And there in the desert they all grumbled against Moses and Aaron.
And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:
So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, “This evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “Tell the whole congregation of Israel, ‘Come before the LORD, for He has heard your
grumbling.’”
And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much food—two omers per person—and all the leaders of the congregation came and reported this to Moses.
And
all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in
Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
Then the whole congregation of Israel left the Desert of Sin, moving from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at
Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.
When Jethro, the priest of
Midian, Moses’ father in law, heard of
all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
Now Moses’ father-in-law Jethro, the priest of
Midian, heard about
all that God had done for Moses and His people Israel, and how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt.
And Moses told his father in law
all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, and
all the
travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
Then Moses recounted to his father-in-law
all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and the Egyptians for Israel’s sake,
all the hardships they had
encountered along the way, and how the LORD had delivered them.
And Jethro
rejoiced for
all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
And Jethro
rejoiced over
all the good things the LORD had done for Israel, whom He had
rescued from the hand of the Egyptians.
Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
Now I know that the LORD is greater than
all other gods, for He did this when they treated Israel with
arrogance.”
And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses’ father in law before God.
Then Moses’ father-in-law Jethro brought a burnt offering and sacrifices to God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses’ father-in-law in the presence of God.
And when Moses’ father in law saw
all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou
thyself alone, and
all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he asked, “What is this that you are doing for the people? Why do you sit alone as judge, with all the people standing around you from morning till evening?”
Moreover thou shalt provide out of
all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth,
hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of
fifties, and rulers of tens:
And let them judge the people at
all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for
thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
Have these men judge the people at
all times. Then they can bring you any major issue, but
all minor cases they can judge on their own, so that your load may be
lightened as they share it with you.
If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to
endure, and
all this people shall also go to their place in peace.
If you follow this advice and God so directs you, then you will be able to
endure, and
all these people can go home in peace.”
So Moses
hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did
all that he had said.
Moses
listened to his father-in-law and did everything he said.
And Moses chose able men out of
all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of
fifties, and rulers of tens.
So Moses chose capable men from
all Israel and made them heads over the people as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of
fifties, and of tens.
And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
And they judged the people at all times; they would bring the difficult cases to Moses, but any minor issue they would judge themselves.
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar
treasure unto me above
all people: for
all the earth is mine:
Now if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, you will be My
treasured possession out of
all the nations—for the whole earth is Mine.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
So Moses went back and summoned the elders of the people and set before them all these words that the LORD had commanded him.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
And all the people answered together, “We will do everything that the LORD has spoken.” So Moses brought their words back to the LORD.
And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of
all the people upon mount
Sinai.
and be prepared by the third day, for on the third day the LORD will come down on Mount
Sinai in the sight of
all the people.
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the
trumpet exceeding loud; so that
all the people that was in the camp
trembled.
On the third day, when morning came, there was
thunder and
lightning. A thick cloud was upon the mountain, and a very loud blast of the ram’s horn went out, so that
all the people in the camp
trembled.
And God spake all these words, saying,
And God spoke all these words:
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and
all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and
hallowed it.
For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
And
all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the
trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood
afar off.
An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice
thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in
all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will
bless thee.
You are to make for Me an altar of earth, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats and cattle. In every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and
bless you.
If she please not her master, who hath
betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt
deceitfully with her.
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who had designated her for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has broken faith with her.
And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will
appoint thee a place
whither he shall
flee.
If, however, he did not lie in wait, but God
allowed it to happen, then I will
appoint for you a place where he may
flee.
If men
strive, and
hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
If men who are fighting strike a
pregnant woman and her child is born
prematurely, but there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman’s husband demands and as the court
allows.
If a man shall cause a field or
vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own
vineyard, shall he make
restitution.
For
all manner of
trespass, whether it be for ox, for
ass, for sheep, for
raiment, or for any manner of lost thing, which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall
condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
In
all cases of
illegal possession of an ox, a
donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any lost
item that someone claims, ‘This is mine,’ both parties shall bring their cases before the judges. The one whom the judges find guilty must pay back double to his
neighbor.
Thou shalt not suffer a
witch to live.
If thou
afflict them in any wise, and they cry at
all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to Me in distress, I will surely hear their cry.
If thou at
all take thy neighbour’s
raiment to
pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
And in
all things that I have said unto you be
circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
Pay close attention to everything I have said to you. You must not
invoke the names of other gods; they must not be heard on your lips.
Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord GOD.
But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do
all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an
adversary unto thine
adversaries.
But if you will
listen carefully to his voice and do everything I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and a
foe to your foes.
I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.
I will send My terror
ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you
encounter. I will make
all your enemies turn and run.
And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.
When Moses came and told the people
all the words and ordinances of the LORD, they
all responded with one voice: “
All the words that the LORD has spoken, we will do.”
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
And Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Early the next morning he got up and built an altar at the base of the mountain, along with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.
And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the
audience of the people: and they said,
All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be
obedient.
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people, who replied, “
All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be
obedient.”
And Moses took the blood, and
sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning
all these words.
So Moses took the blood,
sprinkled it on the people, and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with
all these words.”
According to
all that I
shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of
all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
You must make the tabernacle and design all its furnishings according to the pattern I show you.
And make one
cherub on the one end, and the other
cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.
one
cherub on one end and one on the other,
all made from one piece of gold.
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
And I will meet with you there above the mercy seat, between the two
cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony; I will speak with you about
all that I command you regarding the Israelites.
And place the Bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times.

And thou shalt speak unto
all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to
consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

instruct all the skilled
craftsmen, whom I have filled with a spirit of wisdom, to make garments for Aaron’s
consecration, so that he may serve Me as priest.
And thou shalt make the
robe of the
ephod all of blue.
You are to make the

hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:

hallow in
all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his
forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.
And it will be worn on Aaron’s
forehead, so that he may bear the iniquity of the holy things that the sons of Israel
consecrate with regard to
all their holy gifts. It shall always be on his
forehead, so that they may be acceptable before the LORD.
And thou shalt take of the blood of the
bullock, and put it upon the horns of the altar with thy finger, and pour
all the blood beside the bottom of the altar.

And thou shalt
slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and
sprinkle it round about upon the altar.
You are to slaughter the ram, take its blood, and
sprinkle it on
all sides of the altar.
Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the
tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the
tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the
thumb of their right hand, and upon the great
toe of their right foot, and
sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
Slaughter the ram, take some of its blood, and put it on the right earlobes of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the
big toes of their right feet.
Sprinkle the remaining blood on
all sides of the altar.
And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons; and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.
Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.
And thus shalt thou do unto Aaron, and to his sons, according to
all things which I have commanded thee: seven days shalt thou

And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in
all manner of
workmanship,
And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability, and knowledge in
all kinds of
craftsmanship,
And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in
carving of timber, to work in
all manner of
workmanship.
to cut gemstones for settings, and to
carve wood, so that he may be a master of every craft.
And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of
Dan: and in the hearts of
all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make
all that I have commanded thee;
Moreover, I have selected Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of
Dan, as his assistant. I have also given skill to
all the
craftsmen, that they may fashion
all that I have commanded you:
