sackcloth,
mourn and
wail, for the fierce

beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce
anger.

anger.
The children gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women
knead their
dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may
provoke me to
anger.
The sons gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women
knead the
dough to make cakes for the Queen of Heaven; they pour out drink offerings to other gods to
provoke Me to
anger.
Do they
provoke me to
anger? saith the LORD: do they not
provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces?
But am I the One they are
provoking? declares the LORD. Is it not themselves they spite, to their own shame?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine
anger and my
fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be
quenched.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, My
anger and My
fury will be poured out on this place, on man and beast, on the trees of the field and the produce of the land, and it will burn and not be
extinguished.
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in
Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they
provoked me to
anger with their
graven images, and with strange
vanities?
Listen to the cry of the daughter of my people from a land far away: “Is the LORD no longer in
Zion? Is her King no longer there?” “Why have they
provoked Me to
anger with their carved images, with their worthless foreign idols?”
O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

disaster against you on account of the evil that the house of Israel and the house of Judah have brought upon themselves,
provoking Me to
anger by burning incense to
Baal.”

reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be
ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce
anger of the LORD.

anger of the LORD.”

kindled in mine
anger, which shall burn upon you.

enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know, for My
anger will
kindle a fire that will burn against you.”

thyself, shalt discontinue from thine
heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have
kindled a fire in mine
anger, which shall burn for ever.
Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to
slay me:
forgive not their iniquity, neither
blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine
anger.
But You, O LORD, know all their deadly plots against me. Do not
wipe out their guilt or
blot out their sin from Your sight. Let them be overthrown before You; deal with them in the time of Your
anger.
And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in
anger, and in
fury, and in great wrath.
And I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm, with
anger,
fury, and great wrath.

And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and
provoke me not to
anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no
hurt.
Do not follow other gods to serve and worship them, and do not
provoke Me to
anger with the works of your hands. Then I will do you no
harm.’
Yet ye have not
hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might
provoke me to
anger with the works of your hands to your own
hurt.

harm, you have not
listened to Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘so you have
provoked Me to
anger with the works of your hands.’

anger of the LORD.
The fierce anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.
The fierce anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has fully accomplished the purposes of His heart. In the days to come you will understand this.
And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto
Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to
provoke me to
anger.

provoked Me to
anger by burning incense to
Baal on their rooftops and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only
provoked me to
anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.

provoke Me to
anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD.
For this city hath been to me as a
provocation of mine
anger and of my
fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,
For this city has
aroused My wrath and
fury from the day it was built until now. Therefore I will remove it from My presence
Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to
provoke me to
anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
because of all the evil the children of Israel and of Judah have done to
provoke Me to
anger—they, their kings, their officials, their priests and prophets, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem.
Behold, I will gather them out of all countries,
whither I have driven them in mine
anger, and in my
fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:
I will surely gather My people from all the lands to which I have banished them in My
furious anger and great wrath, and I will return them to this place and make them dwell in safety.
They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine
anger and in my
fury, and for all whose wickedness I have
hid my face from this city.
The Chaldeans are coming to fight and to fill those places with the corpses of the men I will strike down in My anger and in My wrath. I have hidden My face from this city because of all its wickedness.
It may be they will present their
supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the
anger and the
fury that the LORD hath pronounced against this people.
Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and each one will turn from his wicked way; for great are the
anger and
fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.”
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine
anger and my
fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my
fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an
execration, and an
astonishment, and a
curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Just as My
anger and wrath were poured out on the residents of Jerusalem, so will My wrath be poured out on you if you go to Egypt. You will become an object of
cursing and
horror, of
vilification and disgrace, and you will never see this place again.’
Because of their wickedness which they have committed to
provoke me to
anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.
because of the evil they have done. They
provoked Me to
anger by continuing to burn incense and to serve other gods that neither they nor you nor your fathers ever knew.
Wherefore my
fury and mine
anger was poured forth, and was
kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and
desolate, as at this day.
Therefore My wrath and
anger poured out and burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, so that they have become the
desolate ruin they are
today.
In that ye
provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt,
whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut
yourselves off, and that ye might be a
curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
Why are you
provoking Me to
anger by the work of your hands by burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you have gone to reside? As a result, you will be cut off and will become an object of
cursing and reproach among all the nations of the earth.
For I will cause
Elam to be dismayed before their enemies, and before them that seek their life: and I will bring evil upon them even my fierce
anger, saith the LORD; and I will send the sword after them, till I have consumed them:
So I will
shatter Elam before their foes, before those who seek their lives. I will bring
disaster upon them, even My fierce
anger,” declares the LORD. “I will send out the sword after them until I finish them off.
My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.
Come out of her, My people! Save your lives, each of you, from the fierce anger of the LORD.
For through the
anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that
Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
For because of the
anger of the LORD, all this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until He finally banished them from His presence. And
Zedekiah also rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me,
wherewith the LORD hath
afflicted me in the day of his fierce
anger.
Is this nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around and see! Is there any sorrow like mine, which was inflicted on me, which the LORD made me suffer on the day of His fierce anger?
How hath the Lord covered the daughter of
Zion with a cloud in his
anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his
footstool in the day of his
anger!
How the Lord has covered the Daughter of
Zion with the cloud of His
anger! He has cast the glory of Israel from heaven to earth. He has abandoned His
footstool in the day of His
anger.
He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
In fierce anger He has cut off every horn of Israel and withdrawn His right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.
And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in
Zion, and hath
despised in the
indignation of his
anger the king and the priest.
He has laid waste His tabernacle like a garden
booth; He has destroyed His place of meeting. The LORD has made
Zion forget her appointed feasts and Sabbaths. In His fierce
anger He has
despised both king and priest.
The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine
anger; thou hast killed, and not
pitied.
Both young and old lie together in the dust of the streets. My young men and maidens have fallen by the sword. You have slain them in the day of Your
anger; You have slaughtered them without
compassion.
Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD’S
anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have
swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.
You summoned my attackers on every side, as for the day of an appointed feast. In the day of the LORD’s
anger no one escaped or survived; my enemy has destroyed those I
nurtured and reared.
Thou hast covered with
anger, and
persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not
pitied.
You have covered
Yourself in
anger and pursued us; You have killed without
pity.
Persecute and destroy them in
anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
You will pursue them in
anger and
exterminate them from under Your heavens, O LORD.
The LORD hath accomplished his
fury; he hath poured out his fierce
anger, and hath
kindled a fire in
Zion, and it hath
devoured the foundations thereof.
The LORD has exhausted His wrath; He has poured out His fierce
anger; He has
kindled a fire in
Zion, and it has consumed her foundations.
The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
The presence of the LORD has scattered them; He regards them no more. The priests are shown no honor; the elders find no favor.
So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the LORD upon me.
Thus shall mine
anger be accomplished, and I will cause my
fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my
fury in them.
And when My
anger is spent and I have
vented My wrath against them, I will be
appeased. And when I have spent My wrath on them, they will know that I, the LORD, in My zeal have spoken.
So it shall be a reproach and a
taunt, an instruction and an
astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall
execute judgments in thee in
anger and in
fury and in
furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
So you will be a reproach and a
taunt, a
warning and a
horror to the nations around you, when I
execute judgments against you in
anger, wrath, and
raging fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.
Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine
anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will
recompense upon thee all thine abominations.
The end is now upon you, and I will
unleash My
anger against you. I will judge you according to your ways and repay you for all your abominations.
Now will I shortly pour out my
fury upon thee, and
accomplish mine
anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will
recompense thee for all thine abominations.
Very soon I will pour out My wrath upon you and
vent My
anger against you; I will judge you according to your ways and repay you for all your abominations.
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to
provoke me to
anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see this? Is it not enough for the house of Judah to commit the abominations they are practicing here, that they must also fill the land with violence and continually
provoke Me to
anger? Look, they are even putting the branch to their nose!
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even
rend it with a
stormy wind in my
fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine
anger, and great hailstones in my
fury to
consume it.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: In My wrath I will release a
windstorm, and in My
anger torrents of rain and
hail will fall with destructive
fury.
Thou hast also committed
fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to
provoke me to
anger.
But they rebelled against me, and would not
hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they
forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my
fury upon them to
accomplish my
anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
But they rebelled against Me and refused to
listen. None of them cast away the abominations before their eyes, and they did not
forsake the idols of Egypt. So I resolved to pour out My wrath upon them and
vent My
anger against them in the land of Egypt.
Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they
polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my
fury upon them, to
accomplish my
anger against them in the wilderness.
But the children rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes or carefully observe My ordinances—though the man who does these things will live by them—and they
profaned My Sabbaths. So I resolved to pour out My wrath upon them and
vent My
anger against them in the wilderness.
And I will pour out mine
indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of
brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
I will pour out My
anger upon you; I will
breathe the fire of My
fury against you; I will hand you over to
brutal men, skilled in destruction.
As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to
melt it; so will I gather you in mine
anger and in my
fury, and I will leave you there, and
melt you.
Just as one gathers silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the furnace to
melt with a
fiery blast, so I will gather you in My
anger and wrath, leave you there, and
melt you.
And I will lay my
vengeance upon
Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in
Edom according to mine
anger and according to my
fury; and they shall know my
vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.
I will take My
vengeance on
Edom by the hand of My people Israel, and they will deal with
Edom according to My
anger and wrath. Then they will know My
vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.’
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine
anger, and according to thine
envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.
therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will treat you according to the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred against them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.
In their setting of their
threshold by my thresholds, and their post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have even
defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine
anger.
When they placed their
threshold next to My
threshold and their doorposts beside My doorposts, with only a wall between Me and them, they
defiled My holy name by the abominations they committed. Therefore I have consumed them in My
anger.
For this cause the king was
angry and very
furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
This
response made the king so
furious with
anger that he gave orders to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I
beseech thee, let thine
anger and thy
fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
O Lord, in keeping with all Your righteous acts, I pray that Your
anger and wrath may turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the
iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all around us.
Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
In his place one will arise who will send out a tax
collector for the glory of the kingdom; but within a few days he will be destroyed, though not in
anger or in battle.
For they have made ready their heart like an
oven, whiles they lie in wait: their
baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.
For they prepare their heart like an
oven while they lie in wait; all night their
anger smolders; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
Thy
calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine
anger is
kindled against them: how long will it be
ere they attain to
innocency?
He has rejected your
calf, O Samaria. My
anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of
innocence?
I will not
execute the fierceness of mine
anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
I will not
execute the full
fury of My
anger; I will not turn back to destroy Ephraim. For I am God and not man— the Holy One among you— and I will not come in wrath.
Ephraim
provoked him to
anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
Ephraim has
provoked bitter
anger, so his Lord will leave his bloodguilt upon him and repay him for his contempt.
I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
So in My anger I gave you a king, and in My wrath I took him away.
I will
heal their
backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine
anger is turned away from him.
I will
heal their
apostasy; I will freely love them, for My
anger has turned away from them.
And
rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is
gracious and
merciful, slow to
anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
So
rend your hearts and not your garments, and return to the LORD your God. For He is
gracious and
compassionate, slow to
anger, abounding in loving devotion. And He relents from sending
disaster.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of
Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all
pity, and his
anger did
tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of
Edom, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and
stifled all
compassion; his
anger raged continually, and his
fury flamed
incessantly.
Who can tell if God will turn and
repent, and turn away from his fierce
anger, that we perish not?
Who knows? God may turn and relent; He may turn from His fierce anger, so that we will not perish.”
And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto
Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a
gracious God, and
merciful, slow to
anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
So he prayed to the LORD, saying, “O LORD, is this not what I said while I was still in my own country? This is why I was so quick to
flee toward
Tarshish. I knew that You are a
gracious and
compassionate God, slow to
anger, abounding in loving devotion—One who relents from sending
disaster.
I will take
vengeance in
anger and wrath upon the nations that have not obeyed Me.”
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the
transgression of the
remnant of his
heritage? he retaineth not his
anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the
transgression of the
remnant of His inheritance— who does not retain His
anger forever, because He delights in loving devotion?
The LORD is slow to
anger, and great in power, and will not at all
acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the
whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
The LORD is slow to
anger and great in power; the LORD will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. His path is in the
whirlwind and storm, and clouds are the dust beneath His feet.
Who can stand before his
indignation? and who can
abide in the fierceness of his
anger? his
fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? was thine
anger against the rivers? was thy wrath against the sea, that thou
didst ride upon thine horses and thy
chariots of salvation?
Were You
angry at the rivers, O LORD? Was Your wrath against the streams? Did You
rage against the sea when You
rode on Your horses, on Your
chariots of salvation?
You marched across the earth with
fury; You
threshed the nations in wrath.
Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the
chaff, before the fierce
anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S
anger come upon you.
before the decree takes effect and the day passes like
chaff, before the burning
anger of the LORD comes upon you, before the Day of the LORD’s
anger comes upon you.
Seek ye the LORD, all ye
meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek
meekness: it may be ye shall be
hid in the day of the LORD’S
anger.
Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth who carry out His justice. Seek righteousness; seek
humility. Perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s
anger.
Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may
assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine
indignation, even all my fierce
anger: for all the earth shall be
devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
Therefore wait for Me,” declares the LORD, “until the day I rise to
testify. For My decision is to gather nations, to
assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them My
indignation— all My burning
anger. For all the earth will be consumed by the fire of My jealousy.
Yea, they made their hearts as an
adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
They made their hearts like flint and would not
listen to the law or to the words that the LORD of Hosts had sent by His Spirit through the earlier prophets. Therefore great
anger came from the LORD of Hosts.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to
punish you, when your fathers
provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I
repented not:
For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Just as I resolved to bring
disaster upon you when your fathers
provoked Me to
anger, and I did not relent,” says the LORD of Hosts,
Mine
anger was
kindled against the
shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
“My
anger burns against the
shepherds, and I will
punish the leaders. For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock, the house of Judah; He will make them like His royal
steed in battle.
And his lord was
wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
In
anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be
tortured, until he should repay all that he owed.
And when he had looked round about on them with
anger, being
grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Jesus looked around at them with anger and sorrow at their hardness of heart. Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored.
But unto them that are
contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness,
indignation and wrath,
But for those who are self-seeking and who
reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and
anger.
But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will
provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a
foolish nation I will
anger you.
I ask instead, did Israel not understand? First, Moses says: “I will make you
jealous by those who are not a nation; I will make you
angry by a nation without understanding.”
Doth not
behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily
provoked, thinketh no evil;
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.
Be ye
angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
“Be
angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your
anger,
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and
anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all
malice:
Get rid of all bitterness,
rage and
anger, outcry and
slander, along with every form of
malice.
But now ye also put off all these;
anger, wrath,
malice,
blasphemy,
filthy communication out of your mouth.
But now you must put aside all such things as these:
anger,
rage,
malice,
slander, and
filthy language from your lips.
Fathers,
provoke not your children to
anger, lest they be discouraged.
Fathers, do not
provoke your children, so they will not become discouraged.

Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without
anger or

So I
swore on oath in My
anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’”
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have
sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Now we who have believed enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said: “So I
swore on oath in My
anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.’” And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world.

forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he

By faith Moses left Egypt, not fearing the king’s
anger; he
persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
My beloved brothers, understand this:
Everyone should be quick to
listen, slow to speak, and slow to
anger,
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
for man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness that God desires.
