burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drink the water.

And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a
burnt offering, and make an
atonement for him, for that he
sinned by the dead, and shall
hallow his head that same day.

consecrate his head again.

Also in the day of your
gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the
trumpets over your
burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a
memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.
And on your
joyous occasions, your appointed feasts, and the beginning of each month, you are to blow the
trumpets over your
burnt offerings and
fellowship offerings to serve as a reminder for you before your God. I am the LORD your God.”
And when the people
complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was
kindled; and the fire of the LORD
burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the
uttermost parts of the camp.
Soon the people began to
complain about their
hardship in the hearing of the LORD, and when He heard them, His anger was
kindled, and fire from the LORD
blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.

And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou
afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the
burden of all this people upon me?
So Moses asked the LORD, “Why have You brought this trouble on Your servant? Why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid upon me the burden of all these people?
I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
I cannot carry all these people by myself; it is too
burdensome for me.
And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the
burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not
thyself alone.
And I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put that Spirit on them. They will help you bear the
burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by
yourself.
And while the flesh was yet between their teeth,
ere it was
chewed, the wrath of the LORD was
kindled against the people, and the LORD
smote the people with a very great plague.
But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was
chewed, the anger of the LORD
burned against the people, and the LORD struck them with a severe plague.
And he called the name of that place

And will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a
burnt offering, or a sacrifice in performing a
vow, or in a
freewill offering, or in your solemn feasts, to make a sweet savour unto the LORD, of the
herd, or of the flock:
and you present an offering made by fire to the LORD from the
herd or flock to produce a pleasing
aroma to the LORD—either a

bullock for a
burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one
kid of the goats for a sin offering.

Speak unto
Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the
burning, and
scatter thou the fire
yonder; for they are
hallowed.
“Tell
Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the censers from the flames and to
scatter the coals far away, because the censers are holy.
And
Eleazar the priest took the
brasen censers,
wherewith they that were
burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:
So
Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers brought by those who had been
burned up, and he had them hammered out to overlay the altar,
But the
firstling of a cow, or the
firstling of a sheep, or the
firstling of a goat, thou shalt not
redeem; they are holy: thou shalt
sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt
burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
But you must not
redeem the
firstborn of an ox, a sheep, or a goat; they are holy. You are to
sprinkle their blood on the altar and
burn their fat as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And one shall
burn the
heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he
burn:
Then the
heifer must be
burned in his sight. Its hide, its flesh, and its blood are to be
burned, along with its dung.
And the priest shall take
cedar wood, and
hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the
burning of the
heifer.
And he that
burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and
bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
The one who
burned the
heifer must also wash his clothes and
bathe his body in water, and he too will be
ceremonially unclean until evening.
And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the
burnt heifer of
purification for sin, and running water shall be put
thereto in a vessel:
For the
purification of the unclean person, take some of the ashes of the
burnt sin offering, put them in a
jar, and pour fresh water over them.

whatsoever he sheweth me I will tell thee. And he went to an high place.

kindled against
Balaam, and he
smote his hands together: and Balak said unto

burned against

Balaam, “I summoned you to
curse my enemies, but behold, you have
persisted in blessing them these three times.

And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
Then they burned all the cities where the Midianites had lived, as well as all their encampments,
And the LORD’S anger was
kindled against Israel, and he made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of the LORD, was consumed.
The anger of the LORD
burned against Israel, and He made them
wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had done evil in His sight was gone.
And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’
stead, an increase of sinful men, to
augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.
Now behold, you, a
brood of sinners, have risen up in place of your fathers to further
stoke the
burning anger of the LORD against Israel.
For the Egyptians
buried all their
firstborn, which the LORD had
smitten among them: upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments.
who were
burying all their
firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had executed judgment against their gods.
And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:
At that time I said to you, “I cannot carry the burden for you alone.
How can I myself alone bear your
cumbrance, and your
burden, and your
strife?
But how can I bear your troubles, burdens, and disputes all by myself?
And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.
You came near and stood at the base of the mountain, a mountain
blazing with fire to the heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness.
And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
And when you heard the voice out of the darkness while the mountain was
blazing with fire, all the heads of your tribes and your elders approached me,
For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be
kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
because they will turn your sons away from following Me to serve other gods. Then the anger of the LORD will burn against you, and He will swiftly destroy you.
But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and
burn their
graven images with fire.
Instead, this is what you are to do to them:
tear down their altars,
smash their sacred pillars, cut down their Asherah poles, and
burn their idols in the fire.
The
graven images of their gods shall ye
burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be
snared therein: for it is an
abomination to the LORD thy God.
You must
burn up the images of their gods; do not
covet the silver and gold that is on them or take it for
yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it; for it is
detestable to the LORD your God.
So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.
So I went back down the mountain while it was
blazing with fire, with the two tablets of the covenant in my hands.
And I took your sin, the
calf which ye had made, and
burnt it with fire, and stamped it, and ground it very small, even until it was as small as dust: and I cast the dust thereof into the
brook that descended out of the mount.
And I took that sinful thing, the
calf you had made, and
burned it in the fire. Then I
crushed it and ground it to powder as fine as dust, and I cast it into the stream that came down from the mountain.
And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was
buried; and
Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his
stead.
The Israelites traveled from Beeroth
Bene-jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and was
buried, and
Eleazar his son succeeded him as priest.
And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and
burn their groves with fire; and ye shall
hew down the
graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
Tear down their altars,
smash their sacred pillars,
burn up their Asherah poles, cut down the idols of their gods, and
wipe out their names from every place.
And thither ye shall bring your
burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your
tithes, and
heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your
freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
To that place you are to bring your
burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and
heave offerings, your
vow offerings and
freewill offerings, as well as the
firstborn of your herds and flocks.
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your
burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your
tithes, and the
heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye
vow unto the LORD:
then the LORD your God will choose a dwelling for His Name. And there you are to bring everything I command you: your
burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and special gifts, and all the choice offerings you
vow to the LORD.
Take
heed to
thyself that thou offer not thy
burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:
Be careful not to offer your burnt offerings in just any place you see;
But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
you must offer them only in the place the LORD will choose in one of your
tribal territories, and there you shall do all that I command you.
And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.
Present the meat and blood of your burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD your God. The blood of your other sacrifices must be poured out beside the altar of the LORD your God, but you may eat the meat.
Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every
abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have
burnt in the fire to their gods.
You must not worship the LORD your God in this way, because they practice for their gods every
abomination which the LORD hates. They even
burn their sons and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.
And thou shalt gather all the
spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt
burn with fire the city, and all the
spoil thereof every
whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an
heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
And you are to gather all its
plunder in the middle of the public square, and completely
burn the city and all its
plunder as a whole
burnt offering to the LORD your God. The city must remain a
mound of ruins
forever, never to be rebuilt.
His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise
bury him that day; (for he that is
hanged is
accursed of God;) that thy land be not
defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
you must not leave the body on the tree overnight, but you must be sure to
bury him that day, because
anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s
curse. You must not
defile the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer
burnt offerings
thereon unto the LORD thy God:
You shall build the altar of the LORD your God with uncut stones and offer upon it burnt offerings to the LORD your God.
