forsaken him.
Every morning and every evening they present burnt offerings and

forsaken Him.

Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many
chariots and
horsemen? yet, because thou
didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.
Were not the Cushites and Libyans a vast army with many
chariots and

leper until the day of his death. He lived in
isolation,
leprous and cut off from the house of the LORD, while his son Jotham had
charge of the royal palace to
govern the people of the land.
And the men which were expressed by name rose up, and took the
captives, and with the

arrayed them, and
shod them, and gave them to eat and to drink, and
anointed them, and carried all the feeble of them upon
asses, and brought them to
Jericho, the city of palm trees, to their brethren: then they returned to Samaria.
Then the men who were designated by name arose, took
charge of the
captives, and provided from the
plunder clothing for the naked. They clothed them, gave them
sandals and food and drink,
anointed their wounds, and put all the feeble on
donkeys. So they brought them to
Jericho, the City of Palms, to their brothers. Then they returned to Samaria.

charge of slaughtering the
Passover lambs for every unclean person to

Levite was the officer in
charge of them, and his brother Shimei was second.
And Kore the son of Imnah the
Levite, the porter toward the east, was over the

charge of the
freewill offerings given to God, distributing the contributions to the LORD and the consecrated gifts.
Beside their
genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the LORD, his daily portion for their service in their
charges according to their courses;
In addition, they distributed portions to the males registered by
genealogy who were three years of age or older—to all who would enter the house of the LORD for their daily duties for service in the responsibilities of their divisions—
Both to the
genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their
charges by their courses;
and to the priests
enrolled according to their families in the
genealogy, as well as to the Levites twenty years of age or older, according to their duties and divisions.
And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,
He appointed the priests to their duties and encouraged them in the service of the house of the LORD.
After all this, when
Josiah had prepared the temple,
Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against
Charchemish by Euphrates: and
Josiah went out against him.
After all this, when
Josiah had set the temple in order, Neco king of Egypt marched up to fight at Carchemish by the Euphrates, and
Josiah went out to
confront him.
His servants therefore took him out of that
chariot, and put him in the second
chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the
sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem
mourned for
Josiah.
So his servants took him out of his
chariot, put him in his second
chariot, and brought him to Jerusalem, where he died. And
Josiah was buried in the tomb of his fathers, and all Judah and Jerusalem
mourned for him.
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.
“This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, who has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, has appointed me to build a house for Him at Jerusalem in Judah.
Whoever among you belongs to His people, may the LORD his God be with him, and may he go up.’”
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
“This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, who has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, has appointed me to build a house for Him at Jerusalem in Judah.
And this is the number of them: thirty
chargers of gold, a thousand
chargers of silver, nine and twenty
knives,
This was the
inventory: 30 gold dishes, 1,000 silver dishes, 29 silver utensils,
So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
So the priests and Levites took
charge of the silver and gold and sacred articles that had been
weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.
But the former governors that had been before me were
chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver;
yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
The governors before me had
heavily burdened the people, taking from them bread and wine
plus forty shekels of silver. Their servants also
oppressed the people, but I did not do this because of my fear of God.
That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
Then I put my brother Hanani in charge of Jerusalem, along with Hananiah the commander of the fortress, because he was a faithful man who feared God more than most.
Also we made ordinances for us, to
charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a
shekel for the service of the house of our God;
We also place ourselves under the obligation to
contribute a third of a
shekel yearly for the service of the house of our God:
The
overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of
Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.
Now the
overseer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of
Mica. He was one of
Asaph’s descendants, who were the singers in
charge of the service of the house of God.
And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto
Tobiah:
Now before this, Eliashib the priest, a relative of
Tobiah, had been put in
charge of the storerooms of the house of our God
And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
When the evening shadows began to fall on the gates of Jerusalem, just before the Sabbath, I ordered that the gates be shut and not opened until after the Sabbath. I posted some of my servants at the gates so that no load could enter on the Sabbath day.
And let the king
appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto
Shushan the palace, to the house of the women unto the
custody of Hege the king’s
chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for
purification be given them:
and let the king
appoint commissioners in each province of his kingdom to
assemble all the beautiful young women into the
harem at the citadel of
Susa. Let them be placed under the care of Hegai, the king’s
eunuch in
charge of the women, and let them be given beauty treatments.
Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for
Mordecai had
charged her that she should not
shew it.
In the evening she went, and on the
morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the
custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s
chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.
She would go there in the evening, and in the morning she would return to a second
harem under the care of Shaashgaz, the king’s
eunuch in
charge of the concubines. She would not return to the king unless he delighted in her and summoned her by name.
Now when the turn of
Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of
Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king’s
chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And
Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her.
Now
Esther was the daughter of Abihail, the uncle from whom
Mordecai had adopted her as his own daughter. And when it was her turn to go to the king, she did not ask for anything except what Hegai, the king’s trusted official in
charge of the
harem, had
advised. And
Esther found favor in the eyes of
everyone who saw her.
Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as
Mordecai had
charged her: for
Esther did the commandment of
Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.
If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the
charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s
treasuries.
If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will deposit ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury to pay those who carry it out.”
Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given at
Shushan to destroy them, to
shew it unto
Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to
charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make
supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.
Mordecai also gave Hathach a copy of the written decree issued in
Susa for the destruction of the Jews, to show and explain to
Esther,
urging her to approach the king,
implore his favor, and
plead before him for her people.
In all this, Job did not sin or
charge God with
wrongdoing.
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:
If God puts no trust in His servants, and He charges His angels with error,
Men
groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.
From the city, men
groan, and the souls of the wounded cry out, yet God
charges no one with
wrongdoing.
Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
Who gave Him charge over the earth? Who appointed Him over the whole world?
He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
He paws in the valley and rejoices in his strength; he charges into battle.
For by thee I have run through a
troop; and by my God have I
leaped over a wall.
For in You I can charge an army, and with my God I can scale a wall.
Some trust in
chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Some trust in
chariots and others in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.
Hostile witnesses come forward; they make charges I know nothing about.
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the
spear in
sunder; he burneth the
chariot in the fire.
He makes wars to cease throughout the earth; He breaks the bow and
shatters the
spear; He burns the shields in the fire.
Which will not
hearken to the voice of
charmers,
charming never so wisely.
The
chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in
Sinai, in the holy place.
The
chariots of God are tens of thousands— thousands of thousands are they; the Lord is in His sanctuary as He was at
Sinai.
At thy
rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the
chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
At Your
rebuke, O God of Jacob, both horse and rider lie
stunned.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his
chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
laying the beams of His chambers in the waters above, making the clouds His
chariot, walking on the wings of the wind.
A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but she who causes shame is like decay in his bones.
A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it:
whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
A
bribe is a
charm to its giver; wherever he turns, he succeeds.
As a
roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
Like a
roaring lion or a
charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.
A wife of noble
character, who can find? She is far more precious than
rubies.
Favour is
deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Charm is
deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
If the
snake bites before it is
charmed, there is no profit for the
charmer.
I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh’s
chariots.
I
charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye
stir not up, nor
awake my love, till he please.
O daughters of Jerusalem, I
adjure you by the gazelles and does of the field: Do not
arouse or
awaken love until the time is right.
I

O daughters of Jerusalem, I
adjure you by the gazelles and does of the field: Do not
