And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed
thereon peace offerings and
thank offerings, and
commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
Then he restored the altar of the LORD and sacrificed peace offerings and
thank offerings on it, and he told Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.
And the king
commanded Hilkiah, and
Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of
Micah, and Shaphan the
scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king’s, saying,
and
commanded Hilkiah,
Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of
Micah, Shaphan the
scribe, and Asaiah the servant of the king:
And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his
commandments, and his
testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book.
So the king stood by the
pillar and made a covenant before the LORD to follow the LORD and to keep His
commandments, decrees, and statutes with all his heart and all his soul, and to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book.
So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites in their courses, according to the king’s commandment.
So the service was prepared; the priests stood in their places and the Levites in their divisions according to the king’s command.
And the singers the sons of
Asaph were in their place, according to the
commandment of David, and
Asaph, and Heman, and
Jeduthun the king’s
seer; and the
porters waited at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.
The singers, the descendants of
Asaph, were at their stations according to the
command of David,
Asaph, Heman, and
Jeduthun the king’s
seer. And the gatekeepers at each gate did not need to leave their position, because their fellow Levites made preparations for them.
So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the
passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the
commandment of king
Josiah.
So on that day the entire service of the LORD was carried out for
celebrating the
Passover and offering burnt offerings on the altar of the LORD, according to the
command of King
Josiah.
But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with thee, thou king of Judah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house
wherewith I have war: for God
commanded me to make
haste:
forbear thee from
meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroy thee not.
But Neco sent messengers to him, saying, “What is the issue between you and me, O king of Judah? I have not come against you
today, but I am fighting another dynasty. God told me to
hurry; so stop
opposing God, who is with me, or He will destroy you!”
But
Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath
commanded us.
But
Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and the other heads of the families of Israel replied, “You have no part with us in building a house for our God, since we alone must build it for the LORD, the God of Israel, as Cyrus king of Persia has
commanded us.”
Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the
scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to
Artaxerxes the king in this sort:
Rehum the
commander and Shimshai the
scribe wrote the letter against Jerusalem to King
Artaxerxes as follows:
Then wrote Rehum the chancellor, and Shimshai the
scribe, and the rest of their companions; the Dinaites, the Apharsathchites, the Tarpelites, the Apharsites, the Archevites, the Babylonians, the Susanchites, the Dehavites, and the Elamites,
From Rehum the
commander, Shimshai the
scribe, and the rest of their associates—the judges and officials over Tripolis, Persia, Erech and Babylon, the Elamites of
Susa,
Then sent the king an answer unto Rehum the chancellor, and to Shimshai the
scribe, and to the rest of their companions that dwell in Samaria, and unto the rest beyond the river, Peace, and at such a time.
Then the king sent this reply: To Rehum the
commander, Shimshai the
scribe, and the rest of your associates living in Samaria and elsewhere in the region west of the Euphrates: Greetings.
And I
commanded, and search hath been made, and it is found that this city of old time hath made insurrection against kings, and that rebellion and
sedition have been made therein.
I issued a decree, and a search was conducted. It was discovered that this city has revolted against kings from ancient times,
engaging in rebellion and
sedition.
Give ye now commandment to cause these men to cease, and that this city be not builded, until another commandment shall be given from me.
Now, therefore, issue an order for these men to stop, so that this city will not be rebuilt until I so order.
At the same time came to them Tatnai, governor on this side the river, and Shethar-boznai, and their companions, and said thus unto them, Who hath commanded you to build this house, and to make up this wall?
At that time Tattenai the governor of the region west of the Euphrates, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates went to the Jews and asked, “Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and restore this structure?”
Then asked we those elders, and said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?
So we questioned the elders and asked, “Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and restore this structure?”
And the elders of the Jews builded, and they
prospered through the
prophesying of
Haggai the prophet and
Zechariah the son of
Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the
commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the
commandment of Cyrus, and
Darius, and
Artaxerxes king of Persia.
Now this is the copy of the letter that the king
Artaxerxes gave unto
Ezra the priest, the
scribe, even a
scribe of the words of the
commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
This is the text of the letter King
Artaxerxes had given to
Ezra the priest and
scribe, an
expert in the
commandments and statutes of the LORD to Israel:
Whatsoever is
commanded by the God of heaven, let it be
diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
Whatever is
commanded by the God of heaven must be done
diligently for His house. For why should wrath fall on the realm of the king and his sons?
And I sent them with
commandment unto
Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say unto
Iddo, and to his brethren the
Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.
And I sent them to
Iddo, the leader at Casiphia, with a message for him and his
kinsmen, the temple servants at Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.
And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have
forsaken thy
commandments,
And now, our God, what can we say after this? For we have
forsaken the
commandments Which thou hast
commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the
filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.
that You gave through Your servants the prophets, saying: ‘The land that you are entering to possess is a land
polluted by the impurity of its peoples and the abominations with which they have filled it from end to end.
Should we again break thy
commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be
angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no
remnant nor escaping?
shall we again break Your
commandments and
intermarry with the peoples who commit these abominations? Would You not become so
angry with us as to
wipe us out, leaving no
remnant or
survivor?
Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that
tremble at the
commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
So now let us make a covenant before our God to send away all the foreign wives and their children, according to the counsel of my lord and of those who
tremble at the
command of our God. Let it be done according to the Law.
And said, I
beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his
commandments:
Then I said: “O LORD, God of heaven, the great and
awesome God who keeps His covenant of loving devotion with those who love Him and keep His
commandments,
We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
We have
behaved corruptly against You and have not kept the
commandments, statutes, and ordinances that You gave Your servant Moses.
Remember, I
beseech thee, the word that thou
commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye
transgress, I will
scatter you abroad among the nations:
Remember, I pray, the word that You
commanded Your servant Moses when You said, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will
scatter you among the nations,
But if ye turn unto me, and keep my
commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the
uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
but if you return to Me and keep and practice My
commandments, then even if your exiles have been banished to the
farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for My Name.’
That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
Then I put my brother Hanani in charge of Jerusalem, along with Hananiah the commander of the fortress, because he was a faithful man who feared God more than most.
And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto
Ezra the
scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had
commanded to Israel.
At that time all the people gathered together in the square before the Water Gate, and they asked
Ezra the
scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had
commanded for Israel.
And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month:
And they found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month.
Thou camest down also upon mount
Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and
commandments:
You came down on Mount
Sinai and spoke with them from heaven. You gave them just ordinances, true laws, and good statutes and
commandments.
And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:
You revealed to them Your holy Sabbath and gave them commandments and statutes and laws through Your servant Moses.
But they and our fathers dealt proudly, and
hardened their necks, and
hearkened not to thy
commandments,
But they and our fathers became
arrogant and stiff-necked and did not obey Your
commandments.
And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and
hearkened not unto thy
commandments, but
sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and
hardened their neck, and would not hear.
You
admonished them to turn back to Your law, but they were
arrogant and disobeyed Your
commandments. They
sinned against Your ordinances, by which a man will live if he practices them. They
stubbornly shrugged their shoulders; they
stiffened their necks and would not obey.
Our kings and leaders and priests and fathers did not obey Your law or
listen to Your
commandments and warnings that You gave them.
They
clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a
curse, and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the
commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his judgments and his statutes;
hereby join with their noble brothers and commit themselves with a
sworn oath to follow the Law of God given through His servant Moses and to carefully obey all the
commandments, ordinances, and statutes of the LORD our Lord.
For it was the king’s commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, due for every day.
For there was a
command from the king concerning the singers, an
ordinance regulating their daily
activities.
And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give
thanks, according to the
commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.
The leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, along with their associates, who stood across from them to give praise and
thanksgiving as one section alternated with the other, as prescribed by David the man of God.
And both the singers and the
porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the
purification, according to the
commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
They performed the service of their God and the service of
purification, along with the singers and gatekeepers, as David and his son Solomon had prescribed.
And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where
aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the
frankincense, and the vessels, and the
tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was
commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the
porters; and the offerings of the priests.
and had prepared for
Tobiah a large room where they had previously stored the grain offerings, the
frankincense, the temple articles, and the
tithes of grain, new wine, and oil prescribed for the Levites, singers, and gatekeepers, along with the contributions for the priests.
Then I
commanded, and they
cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the
frankincense.
Then I ordered that the rooms be
purified, and I had the articles of the house of God restored to them, along with the grain offerings and
frankincense.
And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
When the evening shadows began to fall on the gates of Jerusalem, just before the Sabbath, I ordered that the gates be shut and not opened until after the Sabbath. I posted some of my servants at the gates so that no load could enter on the Sabbath day.
And I
commanded the Levites that they should
cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to
sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and
spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
Then I
instructed the Levites to
purify themselves and guard the gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember me for this as well, O my God, and show me mercy according to Your abundant loving devotion.
On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was
merry with wine, he
commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of
Ahasuerus the king,
On the seventh day, when the king’s heart was
merry with wine, he ordered the seven eunuchs who served him—Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar, and Carkas—
But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s
commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very
wroth, and his anger burned in him.
Queen Vashti, however, refused to come at the king’s
command brought by his eunuchs. And the king became
furious, and his anger burned within him.
What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she hath not performed the
commandment of the king
Ahasuerus by the chamberlains?
“According to law,” he asked, “what should be done with Queen Vashti, since she refused to obey the
command of King
Xerxes delivered by the eunuchs?”
For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall
despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king
Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not.
For the conduct of the queen will become known to all women, causing them to
despise their husbands and say, ‘King
Xerxes ordered Queen Vashti to be brought before him, but she did not come.’
If it please the king, let there go a royal
commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king
Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she.
So if it pleases the king, let him issue a royal decree, and let it be recorded in the laws of Persia and Media so that it cannot be
repealed, that Vashti shall never again enter the presence of King
Xerxes, and that her royal position shall be given to a woman better than she.
So it came to pass, when the king’s
commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto
Shushan the palace, to the
custody of Hegai, that
Esther was brought also unto the king’s house, to the
custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.
When the king’s
command and edict had been proclaimed, many young women gathered at the citadel of
Susa under the care of Hegai.
Esther was also taken to the palace and placed under the care of Hegai, the
custodian of the women.
Esther had not yet shewed her kindred nor her people; as
Mordecai had charged her: for
Esther did the
commandment of
Mordecai, like as when she was brought up with him.
And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced
Haman: for the king had so
commanded concerning him. But
Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.
All the royal servants at the king’s gate bowed down and paid
homage to
Haman, because the king had
commanded that this be done for him. But
Mordecai would not bow down or pay
homage.
Then the king’s servants, which were in the king’s gate, said unto
Mordecai, Why transgressest thou the king’s
commandment?
Then the royal servants at the king’s gate asked
Mordecai, “Why do you disobey the
command of the king?”
Then were the king’s
scribes called on the
thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that
Haman had
commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king
Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king’s ring.
On the
thirteenth day of the first month, the royal
scribes were summoned and the order was written exactly as
Haman commanded the royal satraps, the governors of each province, and the officials of each people, in the
script of each province and the language of every people. It was written in the name of King
Xerxes and sealed with the royal
signet ring.
The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.
A copy of the text of the edict was to be issued in every province and published to all the people, so that they would be ready on that day.
The posts went out, being
hastened by the king’s
commandment, and the decree was given in
Shushan the palace. And the king and
Haman sat down to drink; but the city
Shushan was
perplexed.
The couriers left,
spurred on by the king’s
command, and the edict was issued in the citadel of
Susa. Then the king and
Haman sat down to drink, but the city of
Susa was in confusion.
In every province to which the king’s
command and edict came, there was great
mourning among the Jews. They fasted,
wept, and
lamented, and many lay in
sackcloth and ashes.
Then called
Esther for Hatach, one of the king’s chamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a
commandment to
Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.
Then
Esther summoned Hathach, one of the king’s eunuchs appointed to her, and she
dispatched him to
Mordecai to learn what was troubling him and why.
Again
Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him
commandment unto
Mordecai;
Then
Mordecai commanded to answer
Esther, Think not with
thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
he sent back to her this reply: “Do not imagine that because you are in the king’s palace you alone will escape the fate of all the Jews.
So
Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that
Esther had
commanded him.
On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
That night sleep escaped the king; so he ordered the Book of Records, the Chronicles, to be brought in and read to him.
Then were the king’s
scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month
Sivan, on the three and
twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to all that
Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the
deputies and rulers of the provinces which are from India unto
Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language, and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
At once the royal
scribes were summoned, and on the twenty-third day of the third month (the month of
Sivan), they recorded all of
Mordecai’s orders to the Jews and to the satraps, governors, and princes of the 127 provinces from India to
Cush—writing to each province in its own
script, to every people in their own language, and to the Jews in their own
script and language.
The copy of the writing for a
commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, and that the Jews should be ready against that day to
avenge themselves on their enemies.
A copy of the text of the edict was to be issued in every province and published to all the people, so that the Jews would be ready on that day to
avenge themselves on their enemies.
So the posts that
rode upon mules and camels went out, being
hastened and pressed on by the king’s
commandment. And the decree was given at
Shushan the palace.
The couriers
rode out in
haste on their royal horses, pressed on by the
command of the king. And the edict was also issued in the citadel of
Susa.
And in every province, and in every city,
whithersoever the king’s
commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and
gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.
In every province and every city, wherever the king’s edict and decree reached, there was joy and
gladness among the Jews, with feasting and
celebrating. And many of the people of the land themselves became Jews, because the fear of the Jews had fallen upon them.
Now in the
twelfth month, that is, the month
Adar, on the
thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s
commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that
hated them;)
On the
thirteenth day of the
twelfth month, the month of
Adar, the king’s
command and edict were to be executed. On this day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but their plan was overturned and the Jews overpowered those who
hated them.
And the king
commanded it so to be done: and the decree was given at
Shushan; and they
hanged Haman’s ten sons.
So the king
commanded that this be done. An edict was issued in
Susa, and they
hanged the ten sons of
Haman.
But when
Esther came before the king, he
commanded by letters that his wicked
device, which he devised against the Jews, should return upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be
hanged on the
gallows.
But when it came before the king, he
commanded by letter that the wicked scheme which
Haman had devised against the Jews should come back upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be
hanged on the
gallows.
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
He
commands the sun not to
shine; He seals off the stars.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
I have not departed from the
command of His lips; I have
treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread.
He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
He opens their ears to correction and commands that they turn from iniquity.
With clouds he covereth the light; and
commandeth it not to
shine by the cloud that cometh
betwixt.
He fills His hands with
lightning and
commands it to strike its mark.
And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do
whatsoever he
commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
Hast thou
commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the
dayspring to know his place;
In your days, have you
commanded the morning or assigned the
dawn its place,
Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
Can you command the clouds so that a flood of water covers you?
Doth the eagle mount up at thy
command, and make her nest on high?
Does the eagle
soar at your
command and make his nest on high?
So Eliphaz the Temanite and
Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD
commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.
So Eliphaz the Temanite,
Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the LORD had told them; and the LORD accepted Job’s request.
Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up
thyself because of the
rage of mine enemies: and
awake for me to the judgment that thou hast
commanded.
Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; rise up against the
fury of my enemies.
Awake, my God, and
ordain judgment.
The statutes of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart: the
commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes.
The precepts of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart; the
commandments of the LORD are
radiant, giving light to the eyes.
For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.
Yet the LORD will
command his lovingkindness in the
daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
The LORD decrees His loving devotion by day, and at night His song is with me as a prayer to the God of my life.
Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
You are my King, O God, who ordains
victories for Jacob.
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
The Lord gives the
command; a great company of women
proclaim it:
Thy God hath
commanded thy strength:
strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.
Summon Your power, O God; show Your strength, O God, which You have exerted on our behalf.
Be thou my strong
habitation,
whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given
commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
Be my rock of refuge, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach to their children,
That they might set their hope in God, and not
forget the works of God, but keep his
commandments:
that they should put their confidence in God, not
forgetting His works, but keeping His
commandments.
Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,
Yet He commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of the heavens.
If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
if they
violate My statutes and fail to keep My
commandments,
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
to those who keep His covenant and remember to obey His precepts.
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that
excel in strength, that do his
commandments,
hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Bless the LORD, all His angels mighty in strength who carry out His word, who
hearken to the voice of His
command.
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
He remembers His covenant
forever, the word He ordained for a thousand generations—
They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,
For he
commandeth, and raiseth the
stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
For He spoke and raised a
tempest that lifted the waves of the sea.
The works of his hands are
verity and judgment; all his
commandments are sure.
The works of His hands are truth and justice; all His precepts are
trustworthy.
He sent
redemption unto his people: he hath
commanded his covenant for ever: holy and
reverend is his name.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts gain rich understanding. His praise endures
forever!
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
Hallelujah! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His
commandments.
