Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.
So the desert
creatures and
hyenas will live there and ostriches will dwell there. It will never again be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation.
Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
and within it was the form of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: They had a human form,
And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. All four living creatures had faces and wings,
Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Such were their faces. Their wings were spread upward; each had two wings touching the wings of the creature on either side, and two wings covering its body.
And they went every one straight forward:
whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
Each
creature went straight
ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they moved.
As for the likeness of the living
creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living
creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth
lightning.
In the midst of the living
creatures was the appearance of
glowing coals of fire, or of torches. Fire moved back and forth between the living
creatures; it was bright, and
lightning flashed out of it.
And the living
creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a
flash of
lightning.
Now as I
beheld the living
creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living
creatures, with his four faces.
When I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces.
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
So as the living creatures moved, the wheels moved beside them, and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose.
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living
creature was in the wheels.
Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise
alongside them, because the spirit of the living
creatures was in the wheels.
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
When the
creatures moved, the wheels moved; when the
creatures stood still, the wheels stood still; and when the
creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose
alongside them, because the spirit of the living
creatures was in the wheels.
And the likeness of the
firmament upon the heads of the living
creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Spread out above the heads of the living
creatures was the likeness of an
awesome expanse,
gleaming like crystal.
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the
Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
When the
creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings like the
roar of many waters, like the voice of the
Almighty, like the
tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings.
I heard also the noise of the wings of the living
creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great
rushing.
It was the sound of the wings of the living
creatures brushing against one another and the sound of the wheels beside them, a great
rumbling sound.
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of
creeping things, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
So I went in and looked, and engraved all around the wall was every kind of
crawling creature and
detestable beast, along with all the idols of the house of Israel.
And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living
creature that I saw by the river of
Chebar.
Then the
cherubim rose upward. These were the living
creatures I had seen by the River Kebar.
When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
When the
cherubim stood still, the wheels also stood still, and when they ascended, the wheels ascended with them, for the spirit of the living
creatures was in the wheels.
This is the living
creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of
Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims.
These were the living
creatures I had seen beneath the God of Israel by the River Kebar, and I knew that they were
cherubim.
And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of
Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.
Their faces looked like the faces I had seen by the River Kebar. Each
creature went straight
ahead.
Shall I cause it to return into his
sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou
wast created, in the land of thy
nativity.
Return the sword to its
sheath! In the place where you were
created, in the land of your origin, I will judge you.
Thou hast been in
Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the
sardius,
topaz, and the
diamond, the
beryl, the
onyx, and the
jasper, the
sapphire, the
emerald, and the
carbuncle, and gold: the
workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou
wast created.
You were in
Eden, the garden of God. Every kind of precious stone adorned you:
ruby,
topaz, and
diamond,
beryl,
onyx, and
jasper,
sapphire,
turquoise, and
emerald. Your mountings and settings were crafted in gold, prepared on the day of your
creation.
Thou
wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou
wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
From the day you were
created you were
blameless in your ways— until wickedness was found in you.
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all
creeping things that
creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall
shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every
creature that crawls upon the ground, and all mankind on the face of the earth will
tremble at My presence. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will
collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground.
And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth,
whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be
healed; and every thing shall live
whither the river cometh.
Wherever the river flows, there will be swarms of living
creatures and a great number of fish, because it flows there and makes the waters fresh; so wherever the river flows, everything will
flourish.
The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit was abundant, and upon it was food for all. Under it the beasts of the field found shelter, in its branches the birds of the air nested, and from it every creature was fed.
And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the
creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
On that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and the birds of the air and the
creatures that
crawl on the ground. And I will
abolish bow and sword and weapons of war in the land, and will make them lie down in safety.
For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name.
For behold, He who forms the mountains, who
creates the wind and reveals His thoughts to man, who turns the
dawn to darkness and strides on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of Hosts, is His name.”
What profiteth the
graven image that the maker thereof hath
graven it; the
molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make
dumb idols?
What use is an
idol, that a
craftsman should
carve it— or an image, a teacher of lies? For its maker trusts in his own
creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the
cormorant and the
bittern shall
lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows;
desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the
cedar work.
Have we not all one father? hath not one God
created us? why do we deal
treacherously every man against his brother, by
profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God
create us? Why then do we break faith with one another so as to
profane the covenant of our fathers?
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
Jesus answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the
Creator ‘made them male and female,’
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
However, from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’
For in those days shall be
affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the
creation which God
created unto this time, neither shall be.
For those will be days of
tribulation unmatched from the beginning of God’s
creation until now, and never to be seen again.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and
preach the gospel to every
creature.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and
preach the gospel to every
creature.
And when the barbarians saw the
venomous beast
hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet
vengeance suffereth not to live.
When the islanders saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “Surely this man is a murderer. Although he was saved from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live.”
And he
shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no
harm.
But Paul
shook the
creature off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.
For the invisible things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and
Godhead; so that they are without
excuse:
For since the
creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His
workmanship, so that men are without
excuse.
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the
creature more than the
Creator, who is blessed for ever.
Amen.
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the
creature rather than the
Creator, who is
forever worthy of praise!
Amen.
For the earnest expectation of the
creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the sons of God.
The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God.
For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
For the
creation was subjected to
futility, not by its own will, but because of the One who subjected it, in hope
Because the
creature itself also shall be delivered from the
bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
that the
creation itself will be set free from its
bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
We know that the whole
creation has been
groaning together in the pains of
childbirth until the present time.
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now I
beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Now I
urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who
create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Turn away from them.
Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Therefore if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!
For we are his
workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
For we are God’s
workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance as our way of life.
Having abolished in his flesh the
enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of
twain one new man, so making peace;
by
abolishing in His flesh the law of commandments and decrees. He did this to
create in Himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace
And to make all men see what is the
fellowship of the
mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been
hid in God, who
created all things by Jesus Christ:
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is
created in righteousness and true
holiness.
and to put on the new self,
created to be like God in true righteousness and
holiness.
Who is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn of every
creature:
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all
creation.
For by him were all things
created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or
principalities, or powers: all things were
created by him, and for him:
For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.
If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every
creature which is under heaven;
whereof I Paul am made a minister;
if indeed you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its
Creator.
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to
abstain from meats, which God hath
created to be received with
thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
They will
prohibit marriage and require
abstinence from certain foods that God has
created to be received with
thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
For every
creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with
thanksgiving:
For every
creation of God is good, and nothing that is received with
thanksgiving should be rejected,
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made by hands and is not a part of this creation.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are
shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be
shaken may remain.
The words “Once more”
signify the removal of what can be
shaken—that is,
created things—so that the
unshakable may remain.
Of his own will
begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his
creatures.
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of His creation.
For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is
tamed, and hath been
tamed of mankind:
All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and
creatures of the sea are being
tamed and have been
tamed by man,
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful
Creator.
So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should
entrust their souls to their faithful
Creator and continue to do good.
But these, as natural
brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
These men are like
irrational animals,
creatures of
instinct, born to be captured and destroyed. They
blaspheme in matters they do not understand, and like such
creatures, they too will be destroyed.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell
asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the
creation.
“Where is the promise of His coming?” they will ask. “Ever since our fathers fell
asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of
creation.”
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the
Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the
creation of God;
To the angel of the church in
Laodicea write: These are the words of the
Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the
Originator of God’s
creation.
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And before the throne was something like a sea of glass, as clear as crystal. In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, covered with eyes in front and back.
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a
calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
The first living
creature was like a lion, the second like a
calf, the third had a face like a man, and the fourth was like an eagle in flight.
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God
Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
And each of the four living
creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God
Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
And when those beasts give glory and honour and
thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
And whenever the living
creatures give glory, honor, and
thanks to the One seated on the throne who lives
forever and ever,
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
“Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things; by Your will they exist and came to be.”
And I
beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne,
encircled by the four living
creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
When He had taken the
scroll, the four living
creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a
harp, and they were holding golden
bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
And I
beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living
creatures and elders
encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
And I heard every
creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power
forever and ever!”
And the four beasts said,
Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
And the four living
creatures said, “
Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of
thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
Then I watched as the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living
creatures say in a
thunderous voice, “Come!”
And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
And when the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I
beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
And when the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” Then I looked and saw a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a
penny, and three measures of barley for a
penny; and see thou
hurt not the oil and the wine.
And I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living
creatures, saying, “A
quart of wheat for a
denarius, and three quarts of barley for a
denarius, and do not
harm the oil and wine.”
And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
And when the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
And all the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. And they fell facedown before the throne and worshiped God,
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
And
sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who
created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
And he
swore by Him who lives
forever and ever, who
created heaven and everything in it, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it: “There will be no more delay!
And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
And they
sang a new song before the throne and before the four living
creatures and the elders. And no one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
Then one of the four living
creatures gave the seven angels seven golden
bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives
forever and ever.
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying,
Amen;
Alleluia.
And the twenty-four elders and the four living
creatures fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying: “
Amen,
Hallelujah!”
Take heaven and earth to witness; for I have broken the evil in pieces, and created the good: for I live, saith the Lord.
And of all the fowls that are
created thou hast named thee one
dove: and of all the cattle that are made thou hast provided thee one sheep:
Then answered he me, and said, The
creature may not
haste above the maker; neither may the world hold them at once that shall be
created therein.
And I said, As thou hast said unto thy servant, that thou, which givest life to all, hast given life at once to the creature that thou hast created, and the creature bare it: even so it might now also bear them that now be present at once.
For like as a young child may not bring forth the things that belong to the aged, even so have I disposed the world which I created.
And so are they that come after you less than ye, as the creatures which now begin to be old, and have passed over the strength of youth.
Then said I, Lord, I
beseech thee, if I have found favour in thy sight,
shew thy servant by whom thou visitest thy
creature.
And I said, O Lord, thou spakest from the beginning of the creation, even the first day, and saidst thus; Let heaven and earth be made; and thy word was a perfect work.
Upon the fifth day thou saidst unto the seventh part, where the waters were gathered that it should bring forth living creatures, fowls and fishes: and so it came to pass.
And after these, Adam also, whom thou madest lord of all thy creatures: of him come we all, and the people also whom thou hast chosen.
And that he is patient, and long suffereth those that have
sinned, as his
creatures;
There be many created, but few shall be saved.
