And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the
daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a
covert from storm and from rain.
a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and the rain.
And in that
day they shall
roar against them like the
roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is
darkened in the heavens thereof.
In that
day they will
roar over it, like the
roaring of the sea. If one looks over the land, he will see darkness and distress; even the light will be obscured by clouds.
And it came to pass in the
days of
Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
Now in the
days that
Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, Rezin king of
Aram marched up to
wage war against Jerusalem. He was accompanied by Pekah son of Remaliah the king of Israel, but he could not overpower the city.
The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
The LORD will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since the day Ephraim separated from Judah—He will bring the king of Assyria.”
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the
uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the
bee that is in the land of Assyria.
On that
day the LORD will
whistle to the
flies at the
farthest streams of the Nile and to the bees in the land of Assyria.
In the same
day shall the Lord
shave with a
razor that is
hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also
consume the
beard.
On that
day the Lord will use a
razor hired from beyond the Euphrates—the king of Assyria—to
shave your head and the hair of your legs, and to remove your
beard as well.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that a man shall
nourish a young cow, and two sheep;
On that day a man will raise a young cow and two sheep,
And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
And on that day, in every place that had a thousand vines worth a thousand shekels of silver, only briers and thorns will be found.
For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his
oppressor, as in the
day of
Midian.
For as in the
day of
Midian You have
shattered the yoke of their burden, the bar across their shoulders, and the rod of their
oppressor.
Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and
rush, in one
day.
So the LORD will cut off Israel’s head and tail, both palm branch and reed in a single day.
And what will ye do in the
day of
visitation, and in the
desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye
flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
What will you do on the
day of
reckoning when
devastation comes from
afar? To whom will you
flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth?
And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and
devour his thorns and his briers in one
day;
And the Light of Israel will become a fire, and its Holy One a flame. In a single
day it will burn and
devour Assyria’s thorns and thistles.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the
remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that
smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
On that
day the
remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on him who struck them, but they will truly
rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the
anointing.
On that day the burden will be lifted from your shoulders, and the yoke from your neck. The yoke will be broken because your neck will be too large.
As yet shall he remain at
Nob that
day: he shall
shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of
Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
And in that
day there shall be a root of
Jesse, which shall stand for an
ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
On that
day the Root of
Jesse will stand as a
banner for the peoples. The nations will seek Him, and His place of rest will be glorious.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the
remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from
Cush, and from
Elam, and from
Shinar, and from
Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
On that
day the Lord will extend His hand a second time to recover the
remnant of His people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from
Cush, from
Elam, from
Shinar, from
Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
And there shall be an
highway for the
remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the
day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
There will be a
highway for the
remnant of His people who remain from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.
And in that
day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou
wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
In that
day you will say: “O LORD, I will praise You. Although You were
angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You have comforted me.
And in that
day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is
exalted.
and on that
day you will say: “Give praise to the LORD;
proclaim His name! Make His works known among the peoples; declare that His name is
exalted.
Howl ye; for the
day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the
Almighty.
Wail, for the
Day of the LORD is near; it will come as destruction from the
Almighty.
Behold, the
day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land
desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Behold, the
Day of the LORD is coming— cruel, with
fury and burning anger— to make the earth a
desolation and to destroy the sinners within it.
Therefore I will
shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the
day of his fierce anger.
Therefore I will make the heavens
tremble, and the earth will be
shaken from its place at the wrath of the LORD of Hosts on the
day of His burning anger.
And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their
desolate houses, and
dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her
days shall not be prolonged.
Hyenas will
howl in her fortresses and jackals in her
luxurious palaces. Babylon’s time is at hand, and her
days will not be prolonged.
And it shall come to pass in the
day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard
bondage wherein thou
wast made to serve,
On the
day that the LORD gives you rest from your pain and
torment, and from the hard labor into which you were forced,
How art thou fallen from heaven, O
Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which
didst weaken the nations!
How you have fallen from heaven, O
day star, son of the
dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations.
And in that
day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax
lean.
“In that
day the
splendor of Jacob will
fade, and the fat of his body will waste away,
At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
In that day men will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.
In that
day shall his strong cities be as a
forsaken bough, and an
uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there shall be
desolation.
In that
day their strong cities will be like
forsaken thickets and summits, abandoned to the Israelites and to utter
desolation.
In the
day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to
flourish: but the harvest shall be a
heap in the
day of grief and of
desperate sorrow.
though on the
day you plant you make them grow, and on that morning you help your seed
sprout— yet the harvest will
vanish on the
day of disease and incurable pain.
In that
day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the
shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shaketh over it.
In that
day the Egyptians will be like women. They will
tremble with fear beneath the
uplifted hand of the LORD of Hosts, when He brandishes it against them.
In that
day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of
Canaan, and
swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
In that
day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of
Canaan and
swear allegiance to the LORD of Hosts. One of them will be called the City of the Sun.
In that
day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a
pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.
In that
day there will be an altar to the LORD in the center of the land of Egypt, and a
pillar to the LORD near her border.
And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that
day, and shall do sacrifice and
oblation;
yea, they shall
vow a
vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
The LORD will make Himself known to Egypt, and on that
day Egypt will acknowledge the LORD. They will worship with sacrifices and offerings; they will make vows to the LORD and
fulfill them.
In that
day shall there be a
highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
In that
day there will be a
highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt, and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together.
In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
In that day Israel will join a three-party alliance with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing upon the earth.
And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that
day, Behold, such is our expectation,
whither we
flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
And on that
day the dwellers of this coastland will say, ‘See what has happened to our source of hope, those to whom we fled for help and
deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?’”
And he
cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the
watchtower in the
daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
For it is a
day of trouble, and of
treading down, and of
perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
For the Lord GOD of Hosts has set a
day of
tumult and
trampling and confusion in the Valley of Vision— of breaking down the walls and crying to the mountains.
And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou
didst look in that
day to the armour of the house of the forest.
He has uncovered the defenses of Judah. On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest.
And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be
purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
The LORD of Hosts has revealed in my hearing: “Until your dying
day, this sin of yours will never be
atoned for,” says the Lord GOD of Hosts.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
On that
day I will
summon My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.
In that
day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the
nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
In that
day, declares the LORD of Hosts, the
peg driven into a firm place will give way; it will be
sheared off and fall, and the load upon it will be cut down.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.
Is this your
joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient
days? her own feet shall carry her
afar off to
sojourn.
Is this your
jubilant city, whose origin is from antiquity, whose feet have taken her to settle far away?
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the
days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an
harlot.
At that time Tyre will be forgotten for seventy years—the span of a king’s life. But at the end of seventy years, it will happen to Tyre as in the song of the
harlot:
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the LORD shall
punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
In that
day the LORD will
punish the host of heaven above and the kings of the earth below.
And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
They will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit. They will be confined to a
dungeon and punished after many
days.
And it shall be said in that
day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be
glad and
rejoice in his salvation.
And in that
day it will be said, “Surely this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited. Let us
rejoice and be
glad in His salvation.”
In that
day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God
appoint for walls and bulwarks.
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation is established as its walls and ramparts.
In that
day sing ye unto her, A
vineyard of red wine.
In that
day: “Sing about a fruitful
vineyard.
I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any
hurt it, I will keep it night and
day.
I, the LORD, am its keeper; I water it continually. I guard it night and
day so no one can
disturb it;
He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall
blossom and
bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.
In the
days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will
bud and
blossom and fill the whole world with fruit.
In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou
wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the
day of the east wind.
By warfare and exile You
contended with her and removed her with a fierce wind, as on the
day the east wind blows.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.
In that
day the LORD will
thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered one by one.
And it shall come to pass in that
day, that the great
trumpet shall be
blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
And in that day a great ram’s horn will sound, and those who were perishing in Assyria will come forth with those who were exiles in Egypt. And they will worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
In that
day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a
diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
On that
day the LORD of Hosts will be a crown of glory, a
diadem of
splendor to the
remnant of His people,
From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by
day and by night: and it shall be a
vexation only to understand the report.
As often as it passes through, it will carry you away; it will
sweep through morning after morning, by
day and by night.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.
And in that
day shall the
deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
On that
day the
deaf will hear the words of the
scroll, and out of the deep darkness the eyes of the blind will see.
Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
Go now, write it on a
tablet in their presence and
inscribe it on a
scroll; it will be for the
days to come, a witness
forever and ever.
Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt
sow the ground
withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and
plenteous: in that
day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
Then He will send rain for the seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food that comes from your land will be rich and
plentiful. On that
day your cattle will
graze in open pastures.
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
And from every high mountain and every raised hill, streams of water will flow in the day of great slaughter, when the towers fall.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be
sevenfold, as the light of seven
days, in the
day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
The light of the moon will be as bright as the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter—like the light of seven days—on the day that the LORD binds up the brokenness of His people and heals the wounds He has inflicted.
For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
For on that
day, every one of you will
reject the idols of silver and gold that your own hands have
sinfully made.
Many
days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the
vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
In a little more than a year you will
tremble, O secure ones. For the
grape harvest will fail and the fruit harvest will not arrive.
For it is the
day of the LORD’S
vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of
Zion.
It shall not be
quenched night nor
day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
It will not be
quenched—
day or night. Its smoke will
ascend forever. From generation to generation it will lie
desolate; no one will ever again pass through it.
And they said unto him, Thus saith
Hezekiah, This
day is a
day of trouble, and of
rebuke, and of
blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
to tell him, “This is what
Hezekiah says:
Today is a
day of distress,
rebuke, and disgrace; for children have come to the point of birth, but there is no strength to deliver them.
Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities into
ruinous heaps.
Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it; in
days of old I
planned it. Now I have brought it to pass, that you should
crush fortified cities into piles of
rubble.
One
day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god
Nisroch, his sons
Adrammelech and Sharezer put him to the sword and escaped to the land of
Ararat. And his son Esar-haddon reigned in his place.
In those
days was
Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
In those
days Hezekiah became
mortally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him and said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Put your house in order, for you are about to die; you will not recover.’”
Go, and say to
Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy
days fifteen years.
“Go and tell
Hezekiah that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.
I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
I said, “In the prime of my life I must go through the gates of
Sheol and be deprived of the remainder of my years.”
Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a
shepherd’s tent: I have cut off like a
weaver my life: he will cut me off with pining sickness: from
day even to night
wilt thou make an end of me.
My dwelling has been
picked up and removed from me like a
shepherd’s tent. I have rolled up my life like a
weaver; He cuts me off from the
loom; from
day until night You make an end of me.
I reckoned till morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from
day even to night
wilt thou make an end of me.
I composed myself until the morning. Like a lion He breaks all my bones; from day until night You make an end of me.
The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
The living, only the living, can
thank You, as I do
today; fathers will tell their children about Your faithfulness.
The LORD was ready to save me: therefore we will sing my songs to the stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of the LORD.
The LORD will save me; we will play songs on stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the house of the LORD.
Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
The time will surely come when everything in your palace and all that your fathers have stored up until this day will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
Then said
Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my
days.
But
Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the LORD that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “At least there will be peace and security in my lifetime.”
Yea, before the
day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?
Even from
eternity I am He, and none can deliver out of My hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”
But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one
day, the loss of children, and
widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy
sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
These two things will overtake you in a moment, in a single
day: loss of children, and
widowhood. They will come upon you in full measure, in spite of your many
sorceries and the
potency of your spells.
They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
They are created now, and not long ago; you have not heard of them before
today. So you cannot claim, ‘I already knew them!’
Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a
day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to
inherit the
desolate heritages;
This is what the LORD says: “In the time of favor I will answer You, and in the
day of salvation I will help You; I will keep You and
appoint You to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land, to
apportion its
desolate inheritances,
Awake,
awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD;
awake, as in the ancient
days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut
Rahab, and wounded the
dragon?
Awake,
awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD.
Wake up as in
days past, as in generations of old. Was it not You who cut
Rahab to pieces, who pierced through the
dragon?
And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every
day because of the
fury of the
oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the
fury of the
oppressor?
But you have forgotten the LORD, your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth. You live in terror all
day long because of the
fury of the
oppressor who is bent on destruction. But where is the
fury of the
oppressor?
Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for
nought? they that rule over them make them to
howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every
day is
blasphemed.
And now what have I here? declares the LORD. For My people have been taken without cause; those who rule them
taunt, declares the LORD, and My name is
blasphemed continually all
day long.
Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that
day that I am he that
doth speak: behold, it is I.
Therefore My people will know My name; therefore they will know on that day that I am He who speaks. Here I am!”
Yet it pleased the LORD to
bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall
prolong his
days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall
prosper in his hand.
Yet it was the LORD’s will to
crush Him and to cause Him to suffer; and when His soul is made a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will
prolong His
days, and the good pleasure of the LORD will
prosper in His hand.
For this is as the waters of
Noah unto me: for as I have
sworn that the waters of
Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I
sworn that I would not be
wroth with thee, nor
rebuke thee.
“For to Me this is like the
days of
Noah, when I
swore that the waters of
Noah would never again cover the earth. So I have
sworn that I will not be
angry with you or
rebuke you.
Come ye, say they, I will
fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to
morrow shall be as this
day, and much more abundant.
“Come, let me get the wine, let us
imbibe the strong drink, and
tomorrow will be like
today, only far better!”
Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and
forsook not the
ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
For
day after
day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not
forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”
Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we
afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the
day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
“Why have we fasted, and You have not seen? Why have we humbled ourselves, and You have not noticed?” “Behold, on the
day of your fast, you do as you please, and you
oppress all your workers.
Behold, ye fast for
strife and
debate, and to
smite with the
fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this
day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a
day for a man to
afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a
bulrush, and to spread
sackcloth and ashes under him?
wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable
day to the LORD?
Is this the fast I have chosen: a
day for a man to deny himself, to bow his head like a reed, and to spread out
sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and a
day acceptable to the LORD?
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
If you turn your foot from breaking the Sabbath, from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight, and the LORD’s holy day honorable, if you honor it by not going your own way or seeking your own pleasure or speaking idle words,
Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
Your gates will always stand open; they will never be shut,
day or night, so that the wealth of the nations may be brought into you, with their kings being led in
procession.
The sun shall be no more thy light by
day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an
everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
No longer will the sun be your light by
day, nor the brightness of the moon
shine on your night; for the LORD will be your
everlasting light, and your God will be your
splendor.
Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine
everlasting light, and the
days of thy
mourning shall be ended.
Your sun will no longer set, and your moon will not
wane; for the LORD will be your
everlasting light, and the
days of your sorrow will cease.
