He will surely violently turn and
toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou
die, and there the
chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.
roll you into a ball, and
sling you into a wide land. There you will
die, and there your glorious
chariots will remain—a disgrace to the house of your master.
In those days was
Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt
die, and not live.
In those days
Hezekiah became
mortally ill. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz came to him and said, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Put your house in order, for you are about to
die; you will not recover.’”
Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand
shortened at all, that it cannot
redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my
rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and
dieth for
thirst.
Why was no one there when I arrived? Why did no one answer when I called? Is My hand too short to
redeem you? Or do I lack the strength to deliver you? Behold, My
rebuke dries up the sea; I turn the rivers into a desert; the fish
rot for lack of water and
die of
thirst.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall
vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall
die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth below; for the heavens will
vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its people will
die like gnats. But My salvation will last
forever, and My righteousness will never fail.
I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;
“I, even I, am He who comforts you. Why should you be afraid of
mortal man, of a son of man who
withers like grass?
The
captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not
die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.
The
captive will soon be freed; he will not
die in the
dungeon, and his bread will not be lacking.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall
die an hundred years old; but the
sinner being an hundred years old shall be
accursed.
No longer will a
nursing infant live but a few days, or an old man fail to live out his years. For the youth will
die at a hundred years, and he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered
accursed.
And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have
transgressed against me: for their worm shall not
die, neither shall their fire be
quenched; and they shall be an
abhorring unto all flesh.
“As they go forth, they will see the corpses of the men who have rebelled against Me; for their worm will never
die, their fire will never be
quenched, and they will be a
horror to all mankind.”
Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying,
Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou
die not by our hand:
Therefore this is what the LORD says concerning the people of Anathoth who are seeking your life and saying, “You must not
prophesy in the name of the LORD, or you will
die by our hand.”
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will
punish them: the young men shall
die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall
die by famine:
So this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will
punish them. Their young men will
die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine.
They shall
die of
grievous deaths; they shall not be
lamented; neither shall they be buried; but they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
“They will
die from deadly diseases. They will not be
mourned or buried, but will lie like dung on the ground. They will be finished off by sword and famine, and their corpses will become food for the birds of the air and beasts of the earth.”
Both the great and the small shall
die in this land: they shall not be buried, neither shall men
lament for them, nor cut themselves, nor make themselves
bald for them:
“Both great and small will
die in this land. They will not be buried or
mourned, nor will
anyone cut himself or
shave his head for them.
And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt
die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast
prophesied lies.
And you, Pashhur, and all who live in your house, will go into captivity. You will go to Babylon, and there you will
die and be buried—you and all your friends to whom you have
prophesied these lies.’”
And I will
smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall
die of a great
pestilence.
I will strike down the residents of this city, both man and beast. They will die in a terrible plague.’
He that abideth in this city shall
die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the
pestilence: but he that goeth out, and falleth to the Chaldeans that
besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be unto him for a prey.
Whoever stays in this city will
die by sword and famine and plague, but
whoever goes out and surrenders to the Chaldeans who
besiege you will live; he will retain his life like a
spoil of war.
But he shall
die in the place
whither they have led him
captive, and shall see this land no more.
but he will die in the place to which he was exiled; he will never see this land again.”
And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
I will
hurl you and the mother who gave you birth into another land, where neither of you were born—and there you both will
die.
Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
and as soon as he had finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests and prophets and all the people seized him,
shouting, “You must surely
die!
Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to
die; for he hath
prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
Then the priests and prophets said to the officials and all the people, “This man is worthy of death, for he has
prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your own ears!”
Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
Then the officials and all the people told the priests and prophets, “This man is not worthy of death, for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God!”
Why will ye
die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
Why should you and your people die by sword and famine and plague, as the LORD has decreed against any nation that does not serve the king of Babylon?
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. You will die this year because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.’”
So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.
And in the seventh month of that very year, the prophet Hananiah died.
But every one shall
die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the
sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.
Instead, each will
die for his own iniquity. If
anyone eats the
sour grapes, his own teeth will be set on edge.
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O
Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of thee, Thou shalt not
die by the sword:
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O
Zedekiah king of Judah. This is what the LORD says concerning you: You will not
die by the sword;
But thou shalt
die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will
lament thee, saying,
Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
you will
die in peace. As spices were burned for your fathers, the former kings who preceded you, so people will burn spices for you and
lament, ‘
Alas, O master!’ For I Myself have spoken this word, declares the LORD.”
Therefore hear now, I pray thee, O my lord the king: let my
supplication, I pray thee, be accepted before thee; that thou cause me not to return to the house of
Jonathan the
scribe, lest I
die there.
But now please
listen, O my lord the king. May my petition come before you. Do not send me back to the house of
Jonathan the
scribe, or I will
die there.”
Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall
die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.
“This is what the LORD says:
Whoever stays in this city will
die by sword and famine and plague, but
whoever surrenders to the Chaldeans will live; he will retain his life like a
spoil of war, and he will live.
Therefore the princes said unto the king, We
beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the
welfare of this people, but the
hurt.
Then the officials said to the king, “This man ought to die, for he is discouraging the warriors who remain in this city, as well as all the people, by speaking such words to them; this man is not seeking the well-being of these people, but their ruin.”
My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the
dungeon; and he is like to
die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.
“My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have dropped him into the
cistern, where he will
starve to death, for there is no more bread in the city.”
Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the
Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the
dungeon, before he
die.
So the king commanded Ebed-melech the
Cushite, “Take thirty men from here with you and pull Jeremiah the prophet out of the
cistern before he
dies.”
Then said
Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not
die.
Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my
supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to
Jonathan’s house, to
die there.
then tell them, ‘I was presenting to the king my petition that he not return me to the house of
Jonathan to
die there.’”
Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine,
whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall
die.
then the sword you fear will overtake you there, and the famine you
dread will follow on your heels into Egypt, and you will
die there.
So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to
sojourn there; they shall
die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.
So all who
resolve to go to Egypt to reside there will
die by sword and famine and plague. Not one of them will
survive or escape the
disaster I will bring upon them.’
Now therefore know certainly that ye shall
die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence, in the place
whither ye desire to go and to
sojourn.
Now therefore, know for sure that by sword and famine and plague you will die in the place where you desire to go to reside.”
And I will take the
remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to
sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall
die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an
execration, and an
astonishment, and a
curse, and a reproach.
And I will take away the
remnant of Judah who have resolved to go to the land of Egypt to reside there; they will meet their end. They will all fall by the sword or be consumed by famine. From the least to the greatest, they will
die by sword or famine; and they will become an object of
cursing and
horror, of
vilification and reproach.
And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
And the king of Babylon provided
Jehoiachin a daily portion for the rest of his life, until the day of his death.
Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
The waters flowed over my head, and I thought I was going to die.
They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away,
stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
Those slain by the sword are better off than those who die of hunger, who waste away, pierced with pain because the fields lack produce.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely
die; and thou givest him not
warning, nor speakest to
warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall
die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
If I say to the wicked man, ‘You will surely
die,’ but you do not
warn him or speak out to
warn him from his wicked way to save his life, that wicked man will
die in his iniquity, and I will hold you responsible for his blood.
Yet if thou
warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall
die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
But if you
warn a wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness and his wicked way, he will
die in his iniquity, but you will have saved
yourself.
Again, When a righteous man
doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall
die: because thou hast not given him
warning, he shall
die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Now if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I put a
stumbling block before him, he will
die. If you did not
warn him, he will
die in his sin, and the righteous acts he did will not be remembered. And I will hold you responsible for his blood.
Then said I,
Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been
polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which
dieth of itself, or is
torn in pieces; neither came there
abominable flesh into my mouth.
“
Ah, Lord GOD,” I said, “I have never
defiled myself. From my youth until now I have not eaten anything found dead or
mauled by wild beasts. No unclean meat has ever entered my mouth.”
A third part of thee shall
die with the
pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee and I will
scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
A third of your people will
die by plague or be consumed by famine within you, a third will fall by the sword outside your walls, and a third I will
scatter to every wind and
unleash a sword behind them.
He that is far off shall
die of the
pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall
die by the famine: thus will I
accomplish my
fury upon them.
He who is far off will
die by the plague, he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains will
die by famine. So I will
vent My
fury upon them.
The sword is without, and the
pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall
die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and
pestilence shall
devour him.
The sword is outside; plague and famine are within. Those in the country will
die by the sword, and those in the city will be
devoured by famine and plague.
And it came to pass, when I
prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah
died. Then fell I down upon my face, and
cried with a loud voice, and said,
Ah Lord GOD!
wilt thou make a full end of the
remnant of Israel?
Now as I was
prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah
died. Then I fell facedown and
cried out in a loud voice, “Oh, Lord GOD, will You bring the
remnant of Israel to a complete end?”
My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my
snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall
die there.
But I will spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My
snare. I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, and there he will
die.
And will ye
pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to
slay the souls that should not
die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
You have
profaned Me among My people for handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to My people who would
listen, you have killed those who should not have
died and
spared those who should not have lived.
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he
despised, and whose covenant he
brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall
die.
‘As surely as I live,’ declares the Lord GOD, ‘he will
die in Babylon, in the land of the king who enthroned him, whose oath he
despised and whose covenant he broke.
Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
Behold, every soul belongs to Me; both father and son are Mine. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
Hath given forth upon
usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely
die; his blood shall be upon him.
He engages in
usury and takes excess interest. Will this son live? He will not! Since he has committed all these abominations, he will surely
die; his blood will be on his own head.
That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received
usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not
die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
He withholds his hand from
harming the poor and takes no interest or
usury. He keeps My ordinances and follows My statutes. Such a man will not
die for his father’s iniquity. He will surely live.
As for his father, because he cruelly
oppressed,
spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall
die in his iniquity.
As for his father, he will
die for his own iniquity, because he practiced
extortion,
robbed his brother, and did what was wrong among his people.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
The soul who sins is the one who will die. A son will not bear the iniquity of his father, and a father will not bear the iniquity of his son. The righteousness of the righteous man will fall upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked man will fall upon him.
But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
But if the wicked man turns from all the sins he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord GOD. Wouldn’t I
prefer that he turn from his ways and live?
But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his
trespass that he hath
trespassed, and in his sin that he hath
sinned, in them shall he
die.
But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity,
committing the same abominations as the wicked, will he live? None of the righteous acts he did will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness and sin he has committed, he will
die.
When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and practices iniquity, he will die for this. He will die because of the iniquity he has committed.
Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Because he considered and turned from all the transgressions he had committed, he will surely live; he will not die.
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have
transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye
die, O house of Israel?
Cast away from
yourselves all the transgressions you have committed, and fashion for
yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you
die, O house of Israel?
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that
dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn
yourselves, and live ye.
For I take no pleasure in
anyone’s death, declares the Lord GOD. So
repent and live!
So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And the next morning I did as I had been commanded.
They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.
They will bring you down to the Pit, and you will die a violent death in the heart of the seas.
Thou shalt
die the deaths of the
uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
You will
die the death of the
uncircumcised at the hands of foreigners. For I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.”
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely
die; if thou
dost not speak to
warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall
die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
If I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely
die,’ but you do not speak out to
dissuade him from his way, then that wicked man will
die in his iniquity, yet I will hold you accountable for his blood.
Nevertheless, if thou
warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall
die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
But if you
warn the wicked man to turn from his way, and he does not turn from it, he will
die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life.
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Say to them: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
If I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but he then trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, then none of his righteous works will be remembered; he will die because of the iniquity he has committed.
Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
But if I tell the wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and he turns from his sin and does what is just and right—
If the wicked restore the
pledge, give again that he had
robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without
committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not
die.
if he restores a
pledge, makes
restitution for what he has
stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without practicing iniquity—then he will surely live; he will not
die.
When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he will die for it.
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be
devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall
die of the
pestilence.
Tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, those in the ruins will fall by the sword, those in the open field I will give to be
devoured by wild animals, and those in the strongholds and caves will
die by plague.
Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and
slay her with
thirst.
Otherwise, I will strip her naked and
expose her like the day of her birth. I will make her like a desert and turn her into a
parched land, and I will let her
die of
thirst.
But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall
devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall
die with
tumult, with
shouting, and with the sound of the
trumpet:
So I will send fire against Moab to
consume the citadels of Kerioth. Moab will
die in
tumult, amid war
cries and the sound of the ram’s horn.
And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
And if there are ten men left in one house, they too will die.
For thus
Amos saith,
Jeroboam shall
die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away
captive out of their own land.
for this is what
Amos has said: ‘
Jeroboam will
die by the sword, and Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an
harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt
die in a
polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘Your wife will become a
prostitute in the city, and your sons and daughters will fall by the sword. Your land will be divided by a measuring line, and you
yourself will
die on pagan soil. And Israel will surely go into exile, away from their homeland.’”
All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
All the sinners among My people will
die by the sword— all those who say, ‘
Disaster will never draw near or
confront us.’”
Therefore now, O LORD, take, I
beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to
die than to live.
And now, O LORD, please take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.”
And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a
vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of
Jonah, that he
fainted, and wished in himself to
die, and said, It is better for me to
die than to live.
As the sun was rising, God appointed a
scorching east wind, and the sun beat down on
Jonah’s head so that he grew
faint and wished to
die, saying, “It is better for me to
die than to live.”
And God said to
Jonah, Doest thou well to be
angry for the
gourd? And he said, I do well to be
angry, even unto death.
Then God asked
Jonah, “Have you any right to be
angry about the plant?” “I do,” he replied. “I am
angry enough to
die!”
Art thou not from
everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not
die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
Are You not from
everlasting, O LORD, my God, my Holy One? We will not
die. O LORD, You have appointed them to
execute judgment; O Rock, You have established them for correction.
Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Then I said, “I will no longer
shepherd you. Let the dying
die, and the perishing perish; and let those who remain
devour one another’s flesh.”
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it.
But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the
herd of
swine: and, behold, the whole
herd of
swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.
“Go!” He told them. So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole
herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and
