dungeon.

kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing for which they should have put me in this
dungeon.”

But the flesh of the
bullock, and his skin, and his
dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a sin offering.
But burn the flesh of the bull and its hide and dung outside the camp; it is a sin offering.
And the skin of the
bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his
dung,
But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, with its head and legs and its
entrails and
dung—

bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his
dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the LORD commanded Moses.
But the bull with its hide, flesh, and dung he burned outside the camp, as the LORD had commanded him.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the
beggar from the
dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them
inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the
needy from the ash
heap. He seats them among princes and bestows on them a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the LORD’s, and upon them He has set the world.
Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of
Jeroboam, and will cut off from
Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the
remnant of the house of
Jeroboam, as a man taketh away
dung, till it be all gone.
Because of all this, behold, I am bringing
disaster on the house of
Jeroboam: I will cut off from
Jeroboam every male, both slave and free, in Israel; I will burn up the house of
Jeroboam as one burns up
dung until it is gone!

fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a
cab of

donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a quarter
cab of
dove’s
dung sold for five shekels of silver.

carcase of

dung upon the face of the field in the portion of

dung in the field on the plot of ground at
Jezreel, so that no one can say: This is
Jezebel.’”
But
Rab-shakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own
dung, and drink their own

But the
Rabshakeh replied, “Has my master sent me to speak these words only to you and your master, and not to the men sitting on the wall, who are destined with you to eat their own
dung and drink their own
urine?”
Also I have made a decree, that
whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be
hanged thereon; and let his house be made a
dunghill for this.
I also decree that if any man interferes with this directive, a beam is to be
torn from his house and raised up, and he is to be impaled on it. And his own house shall be made a pile of
rubble for this
offense.
And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the
dragon well, and to the
dung port, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

Dung Gate, and I
inspected the walls of Jerusalem that had been broken down and the gates that had been destroyed by fire.
The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.

thanks,

dung gate:

thanksgiving choirs. One was to proceed along the top of the wall to the right, toward the

trodden into the
dung pile.
But
Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own

They will be exposed to the sun and moon, and to all the host of heaven which they have loved, served, followed, consulted, and worshiped. Their bones will not be gathered up or buried, but will become like dung lying on the ground.

When Jeremiah was entered into the
dungeon, and into the cabins, and Jeremiah had remained there many days;
So Jeremiah went into a cell in the
dungeon and remained there a long time.
Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the
dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the
dungeon there was no water, but
mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the
mire.
So they took Jeremiah and dropped him into the
cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the
courtyard of the guard. They lowered Jeremiah with ropes into the
cistern, which had no water but only mud, and Jeremiah
sank down into the mud.

Now Ebed-melech the

cistern. While the king was sitting at the Gate of Benjamin,
My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the
dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.
“My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have dropped him into the
cistern, where he will
starve to death, for there is no more bread in the city.”
Then the king commanded Ebed-melech the
Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the
dungeon, before he die.
So the king commanded Ebed-melech the
Cushite, “Take thirty men from here with you and pull Jeremiah the prophet out of the
cistern before he dies.”
So Ebed-melech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old
rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the
dungeon to Jeremiah.
Then Ebed-melech took the men with him and went to the king’s palace, to a place below the
storehouse. From there he took old rags and worn-out clothes and lowered them with ropes to Jeremiah in the
cistern.
So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the
dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

bake it with
dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.

bake it over dried human

Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s

“Look,” He replied, “I will let you use cow
dung instead of human
excrement, and you may
bake your bread over that.”

dunghill.

rubble.
Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing
amiss against the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a
dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
Therefore I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything offensive against the God of
Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego will be cut into pieces and their houses reduced to
rubble. For there is no other god who can deliver in this way.”

It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the
dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile, and it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the
excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but
dung, that I may
win Christ,
More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the
surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them
rubbish, that I may gain Christ

And laid away her glorious
apparel, and put on the garments of
anguish and
mourning: and instead of precious ointments, she covered her head with ashes and
dung, and she humbled her body greatly, and all the places of her joy she filled with her
torn hair.
Fear not then the words of a sinful man: for his glory shall be dung and worms.
