And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a
remnant to
escape, and to give us a
nail in his holy place, that our God may
lighten our eyes, and give us a little
reviving in our
bondage.
But now, for a brief moment, grace has come from the LORD our God to preserve for us a
remnant and to give us a
stake in His holy place. Even in our
bondage, our God has given us new life and light to our eyes.
O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

remnant. Here we are before You in our guilt, though because of it no one can stand before You.”

escaped to tell you!”

escaped to tell you!”
While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away,
yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am
escaped alone to tell thee.
While he was still speaking, another
messenger came and reported: “The Chaldeans formed three bands,
raided the camels, and took them away. They put the servants to the sword, and I alone have
escaped to tell you!”

collapsed on the young people and they are dead, and I alone have
escaped to tell you!”

escape will
elude them; they will hope for their last breath.”
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of his mouth shall he go away.
He will not escape from the darkness; the flame will wither his shoots, and the breath of God’s mouth will carry him away.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
My skin and flesh
cling to my bones; I have
escaped by the skin of my teeth.
Surely he shall not feel quietness in his
belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
They were
amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
Job’s friends are dismayed, with no more to say; words have escaped them.

In spite of such sin, will they escape? In Your anger, O God, cast down the nations.
Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to
escape:
incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
In Your justice,
rescue and deliver me;
incline Your ear and save me.
Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an
abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
You have removed my friends from me; You have made me
repulsive to them; I am confined and cannot
escape.
Our soul is
escaped as a bird out of the
snare of the fowlers: the
snare is broken, and we are
escaped.
We have
escaped like a bird from the
snare of the fowler; the net is
torn, and we have
slipped away.
Where can I go to
escape Your Spirit? Where can I
flee from Your presence?
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I
withal escape.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Be
assured that the wicked will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will
escape.
An evil man is
trapped by his
rebellious speech, but a righteous man
escapes from trouble.
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
A false witness will not go unpunished, and one who utters lies will not escape.
And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands:
whoso pleaseth God shall
escape from her; but the
sinner shall be taken by her.
And I find more bitter than death the woman who is a
snare, whose heart is a net, and whose hands are chains. The man who pleases God
escapes her, but the
sinner is ensnared.
In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
On that day the Branch of the LORD will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and glory of Israel’s survivors.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the
remnant of Israel, and such as are
escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that
smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
On that day the
remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on him who struck them, but they will truly
rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.
For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that
escapeth of Moab, and upon the
remnant of the land.
The waters of Dimon are full of blood, but I will bring more upon Dimon— a lion upon the fugitives of Moab and upon the
remnant of the land.
And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation,
whither we
flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we
escape?
And on that day the dwellers of this coastland will say, ‘See what has happened to our source of hope, those to whom we fled for help and
deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we
escape?’”
And the
remnant that is
escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root
downward, and bear fruit upward:
And the
surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root below and bear fruit above.
For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a
remnant, and they that
escape out of mount
Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
For a
remnant will go forth from Jerusalem, and survivors from Mount
Zion. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will
accomplish this.
One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god
Nisroch, his sons
Adrammelech and Sharezer put him to the sword and
escaped to the land of
Ararat. And his son Esar-haddon reigned in his place.
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are
escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their
graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
Come, gather together, and draw near, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry idols of wood and pray to a god that cannot save.
And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that
escape of them unto the nations, to
Tarshish,
Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to
Tubal, and
Javan, to the isles
afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.
I will establish a sign among them, and I will send survivors from among them to the nations—to
Tarshish, Put, and the archers of Lud; to
Tubal,
Javan, and the islands far away who have not heard of My fame or seen My glory. So they will
proclaim My glory among the nations.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to
escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not
hearken unto them.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to bring upon them a
disaster that they cannot
escape. They will cry out to Me, but I will not
listen to them.
And the
shepherds shall have no way to
flee, nor the principal of the flock to
escape.
And
Zedekiah king of Judah shall not
escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
Zedekiah king of Judah will not
escape from the hands of the Chaldeans, but he will surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.
And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thine eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.
And you
yourself will not
escape his
grasp, but will surely be captured and delivered into his hand. You will see the king of Babylon eye to eye and speak with him face to face; and you will go to Babylon.
But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem.
So when
Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched into the land, we said: ‘Come, let us go into Jerusalem to
escape the armies of the Chaldeans and the Arameans.’ So we have remained in Jerusalem.”
But if thou
wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon’s princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not
escape out of their hand.
But if you do not surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, then this city will be delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans. They will burn it down, and you
yourself will not
escape their
grasp.’”
So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.
All your wives and children will be brought out to the Chaldeans. And you
yourself will not
escape their
grasp, for you will be seized by the king of Babylon, and this city will be burned down.”
For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.
For I will surely
rescue you so that you do not fall by the sword. Because you have trusted in Me, you will
escape with your life like a
spoil of war, declares the LORD.’”
But
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah
escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the
Ammonites.
But
Ishmael son of Nethaniah and eight of his men
escaped from Johanan and went to the
Ammonites.
Because of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because
Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon made governor in the land.
to
escape the Chaldeans. For they were afraid of the Chaldeans because
Ishmael son of Nethaniah had struck down Gedaliah son of
Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had appointed over the land.
So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to
sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the
pestilence: and none of them shall remain or
escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.
So all who
resolve to go to Egypt to reside there will die by sword and famine and plague. Not one of them will
survive or
escape the
disaster I will bring upon them.’
So that none of the
