And he that is eight days old shall be
circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
Generation after generation, every male must be
circumcised when he is eight days old, including those born in your household and those purchased from a
foreigner—even those who are not your offspring.
And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were
circumcised with him.

And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to
sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed
sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
“Get out of the way!” they replied. And they declared, “This one came here as a foreigner, and he is already acting like a judge! Now we will treat you worse than them.” And they pressed in on Lot and moved in to break down the door.
I am a stranger and a
sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may
bury my dead out of my sight.
“I am a
foreigner and an outsider among you. Give me a burial site among you so that I can
bury my dead.”
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will
bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I
sware unto Abraham thy father;
Stay in this land as a
foreigner, and I will be with you and
bless you. For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring, and I will
confirm the oath that I
swore to your father Abraham.
And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest
inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.

Canaan, the land of their

Canaan, the land where they lived as
foreigners.
Seven days shall there be no
leaven found in your houses: for
whosoever eateth that which is
leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
For seven days there must be no
leaven found in your houses. If
anyone eats something
leavened, that person, whether a
foreigner or native of the land, must be cut off from the congregation of Israel.
And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the
ordinance of the
passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:

foreigner is to eat of it.
A
foreigner and an
hired servant shall not eat thereof.
And when a stranger shall
sojourn with thee, and will keep the
passover to the LORD, let all his males be

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy
manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your
manservant or
maidservant or
livestock, nor the
foreigner within your gates.
If she please not her master, who hath
betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt
deceitfully with her.
If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who had designated her for himself, he must allow her to be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, since he has broken faith with her.
Thou shalt neither
vex a stranger, nor
oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Also thou shalt not
oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Do not
oppress a foreign resident, since you
yourselves know how it feels to be
foreigners; for you were
foreigners in the land of Egypt.
And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall
afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
This is to be a permanent statute for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month, you shall humble
yourselves and not do any work—whether the native or the
foreigner who resides among you—
And thou shalt say unto them,
Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which
sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering of sacrifice,
Tell them that if
anyone from the house of Israel or any
foreigner living among them offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice
And
whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
If
anyone from the house of Israel or a
foreigner living among them eats any blood, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from among his people.
Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
Therefore I say to the Israelites, ‘None of you may eat blood, nor may any foreigner living among you eat blood.’
And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
And if any
Israelite or
foreigner living among them hunts down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten, he must
drain its blood and cover it with
dirt.
And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was
torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and
bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
And any person, whether native or
foreigner, who eats anything found dead or
mauled by wild beasts must wash his clothes and
bathe with water, and he will be unclean until evening; then he will be clean.
Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
But you are to keep My statutes and ordinances, and you must not commit any of these abominations—neither your native-born nor the foreigner who lives among you.
And thou shalt not
glean thy
vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every
grape of thy
vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the LORD your God.
You must not strip your
vineyard bare or gather its fallen grapes. Leave them for the poor and the
foreigner. I am the LORD your God.
And if a stranger
sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not
vex him.
When a
foreigner resides with you in your land, you must not
oppress him.
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as
thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
You must treat the
foreigner living among you as native-born and love him as
yourself, for you were
foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel,
Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto
Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
“Tell the Israelites, ‘Any
Israelite or
foreigner living in Israel who gives any of his children to
Molech must be put to death. The people of the land are to stone him.
Neither from a stranger’s hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, and
blemishes be in them: they shall not be accepted for you.
Neither you nor a
foreigner shall present food to your God from any such animal. They will not be accepted on your behalf, because they are
deformed and
flawed.’”
And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy
maid, and for thy
hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.
The land must not be sold permanently, because it is Mine, and you are but foreigners and residents with Me.
And if thy brother be
waxen poor, and fallen in decay with thee; then thou shalt
relieve him:
yea, though he be a stranger, or a
sojourner; that he may live with thee.
Now if your
countryman becomes destitute and cannot support himself among you, then you are to help him as you would a
foreigner or stranger, so that he can continue to live among you.
Moreover of the children of the strangers that do
sojourn among you, of them shall ye
buy, and of their families that are with you, which they
begat in your land: and they shall be your possession.
You may also purchase them from the foreigners residing among you or their clans living among you who are born in your land. These may become your property.
And if a
sojourner or stranger wax rich by thee, and thy brother that dwelleth by him wax poor, and sell himself unto the stranger or
sojourner by thee, or to the stock of the stranger’s family:
If a
foreigner residing among you prospers, but your
countryman dwelling near him becomes destitute and sells himself to the
foreigner or to a member of his clan,
And if a stranger shall
sojourn among you, and will keep the
passover unto the LORD; according to the
ordinance of the
passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one
ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.
If a
foreigner dwelling among you wants to observe the
Passover to the LORD, he is to do so according to the
Passover statute and its ordinances. You are to apply the same statute to both the
foreigner and the native of the land.’”
And if a stranger
sojourn with you, or
whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD; as ye do, so he shall do.
And for the generations to come, if a
foreigner residing with you or someone else among you wants to prepare an offering made by fire as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD, he is to do exactly as you do.
One
ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an
ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the LORD.
The assembly is to have the same statute both for you and for the foreign resident; it is a permanent statute for the generations to come. You and the foreigner shall be the same before the LORD.
One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.
The same law and the same
ordinance will apply both to you and to the
foreigner residing with you.”
And it shall be
forgiven all the congregation of the children of Israel, and the stranger that sojourneth among them; seeing all the people were in ignorance.
Then the whole congregation of Israel and the
foreigners residing among them will be
forgiven, since it happened to all the people
unintentionally.
Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.
You shall have the same law for the one who acts in error, whether he is a native-born
Israelite or a
foreigner residing among you.
But the soul that doeth ought
presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
But the person who sins defiantly, whether a native or foreigner, blasphemes the LORD. That person shall be cut off from among his people.
And he that gathereth the ashes of the
heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
The man who has gathered up the ashes of the
heifer must also wash his clothes, and he will be
ceremonially unclean until evening. This is a permanent statute for the Israelites and for the
foreigner residing among them.
These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the
sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may
flee thither.
These six cities will serve as a refuge for the Israelites and for the
foreigner or stranger among them, so that
anyone who kills a person
unintentionally may
flee there.
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy
manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine
ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy
manservant and thy
maidservant may rest as well as thou.
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your
manservant or
maidservant, nor your ox or
donkey or any of your
livestock, nor the
foreigner within your gates, so that your
manservant and
maidservant may rest as you do.
He
doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and
raiment.
He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and He loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing.
Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
So you also must love the
foreigner, since you
yourselves were
foreigners in the land of Egypt.
Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an
alien: for thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not
seethe a
kid in his mother’s milk.
You are not to eat any
carcass; you may give it to the
foreigner residing within your gates, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a
foreigner. For you are a holy people belonging to the LORD your God. You must not
cook a young goat in its mother’s milk.
And the
Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
Then the
Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will
bless you in all the work of your hands.
Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;
You may collect something from a
foreigner, but you must
forgive whatever your brother owes you.
And thou shalt
rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the
Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
and you shall
rejoice before the LORD your God in the place He will choose as a dwelling for His Name—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the
Levite within your gates, as well as the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widows among you.
And thou shalt
rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy
maidservant, and the
Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
And you shall
rejoice in your feast—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the
Levite, as well as the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widows among you.
Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
you are to
appoint over
yourselves the king whom the LORD your God shall choose.
Appoint a king from among your brothers; you are not to set over
yourselves a
foreigner who is not one of your brothers.
Thou shalt not
abhor an
Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not
abhor an Egyptian; because thou
wast a stranger in his land.
Do not
despise an
Edomite, for he is your brother. Do not
despise an Egyptian, because you lived as a
foreigner in his land.
Unto a stranger thou mayest
lend upon
usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not
lend upon
usury: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land
whither thou goest to possess it.
You may charge a
foreigner interest, but not your brother, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in everything to which you put your hand in the land that you are entering to possess.
Thou shalt not
oppress an
hired servant that is poor and
needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:
Do not
oppress a
hired hand who is poor and
needy, whether he is a brother or a
foreigner residing in one of your towns.
Thou shalt not
pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s
raiment to
pledge:
Do not deny justice to the
foreigner or the fatherless, and do not take a widow’s
cloak as security.
When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast
forgot a
sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to
fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine hands.
If you are harvesting in your field and
forget a
sheaf there, do not go back to get it. It is to be left for the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in all the work of your hands.
When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
When you beat the olives from your trees, you must not go over the branches again. What remains will be for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow.
When thou gatherest the grapes of thy
vineyard, thou shalt not
glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
When you gather the grapes of your
vineyard, you must not go over the vines again. What remains will be for the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow.
And thou shalt
rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the
Levite, and the stranger that is among you.
So you shall
rejoice—you, the
Levite, and the
foreigner dwelling among you—in all the good things the LORD your God has given to you and your household.
When thou hast made an end of
tithing all the
tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of
tithing, and hast given it unto the
Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
When you have finished laying aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the
tithe, you are to give it to the
Levite, the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat and be filled within your gates.
Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the
hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the
Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not
transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
Then you shall declare in the presence of the LORD your God, “I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the
Levite, the
foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all the commandments You have given me. I have not
transgressed or forgotten Your commandments.
Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say,
Amen.
‘
Cursed is he who withholds justice from the
foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow.’ And let all the people say, ‘
Amen!’
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
The foreigner living among you will rise higher and higher above you, while you sink down lower and lower.
Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the
hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:
your children and wives, and the foreigners in your camps who cut your wood and draw your water—
So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;
Then the generation to come—your sons who follow you and the foreigner who comes from a distant land—will see the plagues of the land and the sicknesses the LORD has inflicted on it.
Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:
Assemble the people—men, women, children, and the
foreigners within your gates—so that they may
listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and to follow carefully all the words of this law.
And all Israel, and their elders, and officers, and their judges, stood on this side the ark and on that side before the priests the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, as well the stranger, as he that was born among them; half of them over against mount
Gerizim, and half of them over against mount
Ebal; as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should
bless the people of Israel.
All Israel,
foreigners and citizens alike, with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD facing the
Levitical priests who carried it. Half of the people stood in front of Mount
Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount
Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded earlier, to
bless the people of Israel.
There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were
conversant among them.
There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua failed to read before the whole assembly of Israel, including the women, the little ones, and the foreigners who lived among them.
These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that
whosoever killeth any person at unawares might
flee thither, and not die by the hand of the
avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.
These are the cities appointed for all the Israelites and
foreigners among them, so that
anyone who kills a person
unintentionally may
flee there and not die by the hand of the
avenger of blood prior to standing trial before the assembly.
And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside
hither into the city of a stranger, that is not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
But his master replied, “We will not turn aside to the city of foreigners, where there are no Israelites. We will go on to Gibeah.”
Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
At this, she fell on her face, bowing low to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you should take notice of me, even though I am a foreigner?”
And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
And David inquired of the young man who had brought him the report, “Where are you from?” “I am the son of a foreigner,” he answered. “I am an Amalekite.”
And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)
because the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and have lived there as foreigners to this day.
Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and
abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile.
Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, “Why should you also go with us? Go back and stay with the new king, since you are both a foreigner and an exile from your homeland.
Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be
obedient unto me.
Foreigners cower before me; when they hear me, they obey me.
Strangers shall
fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
Foreigners lose heart and come
trembling from their strongholds.
Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake;
And as for the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of Your name—
Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You. Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and they will know that this house I have built is called by Your Name.
Then spake
Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and
sojourn wheresoever thou canst
sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
Now
Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, you and your household; go and live as a
foreigner wherever you can. For the LORD has decreed a seven-year famine, and it has already come to the land.”
And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God: and she went with her household, and
sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.
So the woman had proceeded to do as the man of God had
instructed. And she and her household lived as
foreigners for seven years in the land of the Philistines.
And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to
hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
So David gave orders to gather the foreigners in the land of Israel, from whom he appointed stonecutters to prepare finished stones for building the house of God.
For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none
abiding.
For we are foreigners and strangers in Your presence, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.
Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name’s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;
And as for the foreigner who is not of Your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of Your great name and Your mighty hand and outstretched arm—when he comes and prays toward this temple,
Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as
doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.
then may You hear from heaven, Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You. Then all the peoples of the earth will know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and they will know that this house I have built is called by Your Name.
And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah,
rejoiced.
Then the whole assembly of Judah
rejoiced along with the priests and Levites and the whole assembly that had come from Israel, including the
foreigners who had come from Israel and those who lived in Judah.
And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing to answer.
and said, “We have done our best to
buy back our Jewish brothers who were sold to
foreigners, but now you are selling your own brothers, that they may be sold back to us!” But they remained silent, for they could find nothing to say.
And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and
confessed their sins, and the
iniquities of their fathers.
Those of
Israelite descent separated themselves from all the
foreigners, and they stood and
confessed their sins and the
iniquities of their fathers.
Unto whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger passed among them.
to whom alone the land was given when no foreigner passed among them.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an
alien in their sight.
My guests and maidservants count me as a stranger; I am a foreigner in their sight.
As soon as they hear of me, they shall obey me: the strangers shall submit themselves unto me.
When they hear me, they obey me; foreigners cower before me.
The strangers shall
fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.
Foreigners lose heart and come
trembling from their strongholds.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a
sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry for help; do not be
deaf to my
weeping. For I am a
foreigner dwelling with You, a stranger like all my fathers.
I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an
alien unto my mother’s children.
I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother’s sons,
They
slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
They kill the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless.
Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
Reach down from on high; set me free and
rescue me from the deep waters, from the
grasp of
foreigners,
Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of
falsehood:
The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth
upside down.
The LORD protects foreigners; He sustains the fatherless and the widow, but the ways of the wicked He frustrates.
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
lest strangers feast on your wealth, and your labors
enrich the house of a
foreigner.
