If a soul commit a
trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the
LORD; then he shall bring for his
trespass unto the
LORD a ram without
blemish out of the flocks, with thy
estimation by shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for a
trespass offering:
“If someone acts unfaithfully and sins
unintentionally against any of the
LORD’s holy things, he must bring his guilt offering to the
LORD: an
unblemished ram from the flock, of proper value in silver shekels according to the sanctuary
shekel; it is a guilt offering.
And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the
LORD; though he
wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
If someone sins and
violates any of the
LORD’s commandments even though he was unaware, he is guilty and shall bear his punishment.
It is a guilt offering; he was certainly guilty before the LORD.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
If a soul sin, and commit a
trespass against the
LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in
fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath
deceived his neighbour;
“If someone sins and acts unfaithfully against the
LORD by
deceiving his
neighbor in regard to a deposit or security entrusted to him or
stolen, or if he extorts his
neighbor Then he must bring to the priest his guilt offering to the
LORD: an
unblemished ram of proper value from the flock.
And the priest shall make an
atonement for him before the
LORD: and it shall be
forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in
trespassing therein.
In this way the priest will make
atonement for him before the
LORD, and he will be
forgiven for anything he may have done to
incur guilt.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
And this is the law of the meat offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, before the altar.
Now this is the law of the grain offering: Aaron’s sons shall present it before the LORD in front of the altar.
And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the meat offering, and of the oil thereof, and all the
frankincense which is upon the meat offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the
memorial of it, unto the
LORD.
The priest is to remove a handful of fine flour and olive oil, together with all the
frankincense from the grain offering, and burn the
memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the
LORD.
All the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations concerning the offerings of the LORD made by fire: every one that toucheth them shall be holy.
Any male among the sons of Aaron may eat it. This is a permanent portion from the offerings made by fire to the LORD for the generations to come. Anything that touches them will become holy.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the
LORD in the day when he is
anointed; the tenth part of an
ephah of fine flour for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning, and half thereof at night.
“This is the offering that Aaron and his sons must present to the
LORD on the day he is
anointed: a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening.
In a pan it shall be made with oil; and when it is
baken, thou shalt bring it in: and the
baken pieces of the meat offering shalt thou offer for a sweet savour unto the
LORD.
It shall be prepared with oil on a
griddle; you are to bring it well-
kneaded and present it as a grain offering broken in pieces, a pleasing
aroma to the
LORD.
And the priest of his sons that is
anointed in his
stead shall offer it: it is a statute for ever unto the
LORD, it shall be wholly burnt.
The priest, who is one of Aaron’s sons and will be
anointed to take his place, is to prepare it. As a permanent portion for the
LORD, it must be burned completely.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy.
“Tell Aaron and his sons that this is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before the LORD; it is most holy.
And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire unto the
LORD: it is a
trespass offering.
The priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD; it is a guilt offering.
And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer unto the LORD.
Now this is the law of the peace offering that one may present to the LORD:
And of it he shall offer one out of the whole
oblation for an
heave offering unto the
LORD, and it shall be the priest’s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings.
From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.
But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that
pertain unto the
LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
But if
anyone who is unclean eats meat from the peace offering that belongs to the
LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.
Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any
abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which
pertain unto the
LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
If one touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any unclean,
detestable thing, and then eats any of the meat of the peace offering that belongs to the
LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
For
whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the
LORD, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.
If
anyone eats the fat of an animal from which an offering made by fire may be presented to the
LORD, the one who eats it must be cut off from his people.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, He that offereth the sacrifice of his peace offerings unto the
LORD shall bring his
oblation unto the
LORD of the sacrifice of his peace offerings.
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘
Anyone who presents a peace offering to the
LORD must bring it as his sacrifice to the
LORD.
His own hands shall bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the fat with the breast, it shall he bring, that the breast may be waved for a wave offering before the LORD.
With his own hands he is to bring the offerings made by fire to the LORD; he shall bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast as a wave offering before the LORD.
This is the portion of the
anointing of Aaron, and of the
anointing of his sons, out of the offerings of the
LORD made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister unto the
LORD in the priest’s office;
This is the portion of the offerings made by fire to the LORD for Aaron and his sons since the day they were presented to serve the LORD as priests.
Which the
LORD commanded to be given them of the children of Israel, in the day that he
anointed them, by a statute for ever throughout their generations.
On the day they were
anointed, the
LORD commanded that this be given them by the sons of Israel. It is a permanent portion for the generations to come.
Which the
LORD commanded Moses in mount
Sinai, in the day that he commanded the children of Israel to offer their oblations unto the
LORD, in the wilderness of
Sinai.
which the
LORD gave Moses on Mount
Sinai on the day He commanded the Israelites to present their offerings to the
LORD in the Wilderness of
Sinai.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
So Moses did as the LORD had commanded him, and the assembly gathered at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And Moses said unto the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD commanded to be done.
And Moses said to them, “This is what the LORD has commanded to be done.”
And he put the
mitre upon his head; also upon the
mitre, even upon his
forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the
LORD commanded Moses.
Moses also put the
turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the holy
diadem, on the front of the
turban, as the
LORD had commanded him.
And Moses brought Aaron’s sons, and put coats upon them, and
girded them with girdles, and put bonnets upon them; as the
LORD commanded Moses.
Then Moses presented Aaron’s sons, put tunics on them,
wrapped sashes around them, and
tied headbands on them, just as the
LORD had commanded him.
But the
bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the
LORD commanded Moses.
But the bull with its hide, flesh, and dung he burned outside the camp, as the LORD had commanded him.
And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt sacrifice for a sweet savour, and an offering made by fire unto the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
He washed the
entrails and legs with water and burned the entire ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the
LORD, just as the
LORD had commanded Moses.
And he put all upon Aaron’s hands, and upon his sons’ hands, and waved them for a wave offering before the LORD.
He put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and waved them before the LORD as a wave offering.
And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savour: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then Moses took these from their hands and burned them on the altar with the burnt offering. This was an
ordination offering, a pleasing
aroma, an offering made by fire to the
LORD.
And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave offering before the
LORD: for of the ram of
consecration it was Moses’ part; as the
LORD commanded Moses.
He also took the breast—Moses’ portion of the ram of
ordination—and waved it before the
LORD as a wave offering, as the
LORD had commanded him.
As he hath done this day, so the
LORD hath commanded to do, to make an
atonement for you.
What has been done
today has been commanded by the
LORD in order to make
atonement on your behalf.
Therefore shall ye
abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the
LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.
You must remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and keep the LORD’s charge so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”
So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
So Aaron and his sons did everything the LORD had commanded through Moses.
And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young
calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without
blemish, and offer them before the
LORD.
He said to Aaron, “Take for
yourself a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without
blemish, and present them before the
LORD.
Also a
bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the
LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the
LORD will appear unto you.
an ox and a ram for a peace offering to sacrifice before the
LORD, and a grain offering mixed with oil. For
today the
LORD will appear to you.’”
And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
So they took what Moses had commanded to the front of the Tent of Meeting, and the whole congregation drew near and stood before the LORD.
And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.
And Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.”
And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an
atonement for
thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an
atonement for them; as the
LORD commanded.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “Approach the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering to make
atonement for
yourself and for the people. And sacrifice the people’s offering to make
atonement for them, as the
LORD has commanded.”
But the fat, and the
kidneys, and the
caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the
LORD commanded Moses.
On the altar he burned the fat, the
kidneys, and the
lobe of the liver from the sin offering, as the
LORD had commanded Moses.
And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded.
but he waved the breasts and the right
thigh as a wave offering before the
LORD, as Moses had commanded.
And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.
Moses and Aaron then entered the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
And there came a fire out from before the
LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they
shouted, and fell on their faces.
Fire came out from the presence of the
LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they
shouted for joy and fell facedown.
And
Nadab and
Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his
censer, and put fire therein, and put incense
thereon, and offered strange fire before the
LORD, which he commanded them not.
Now Aaron’s sons
Nadab and
Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense, and offered unauthorized fire before the
LORD, contrary to His command.
And there went out fire from the
LORD, and
devoured them, and they died before the
LORD.
So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died in the presence of the LORD.
Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the
LORD spake, saying, I will be
sanctified in them that come
nigh me, and before all the people I will be
glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the
LORD meant when He said: ‘To those who come near Me I will show My
holiness, and in the sight of all the people I will
reveal My glory.’” But Aaron remained silent.
And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto
Eleazar and unto
Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither
rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel,
bewail the burning which the
LORD hath
kindled.
Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Do not let your hair become
disheveled and do not
tear your garments, or else you will die, and the
LORD will be
angry with the whole congregation. But your brothers, the whole house of Israel, may
mourn on account of the fire that the
LORD has
ignited.
And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the
anointing oil of the
LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
You shall not go outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, or you will die, for the
LORD’s
anointing oil is on you.” So they did as Moses
instructed.
And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Aaron,
And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
so that you may teach the Israelites all the statutes that the LORD has given them through Moses.”
And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto
Eleazar and unto
Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that remaineth of the offerings of the
LORD made by fire, and eat it without
leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
And Moses said to Aaron and his remaining sons,
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Take the grain offering that remains from the offerings made by fire to the
LORD and eat it without
leaven beside the altar, because it is most holy.
And ye shall eat it in the holy place, because it is thy due, and thy sons’ due, of the sacrifices of the LORD made by fire: for so I am commanded.
You shall eat it in a holy place, because it is your share and your sons’ share of the offerings made by fire to the LORD; for this is what I have been commanded.
The
heave shoulder and the wave breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the
LORD; and it shall be thine, and thy sons’ with thee, by a statute for ever; as the
LORD hath commanded.
They are to bring the
thigh of the contribution and the breast of the wave offering, together with the fat portions of the offerings made by fire, to wave as a wave offering before the
LORD. It will belong permanently to you and your children, as the
LORD has commanded.”
Wherefore have ye not eaten the sin offering in the holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God hath given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make
atonement for them before the
LORD?
“Why didn’t you eat the sin offering in the holy place? For it is most holy; it was given to you to take away the guilt of the congregation by making
atonement for them before the
LORD.
And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the
LORD; and such things have
befallen me: and if I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the
LORD?
But Aaron replied to Moses, “Behold, this very day they presented their sin offering and their burnt offering before the
LORD. Since these things have happened to me, if I had eaten the sin offering
today, would it have been acceptable in the sight of the
LORD?”
And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
The LORD spoke again to Moses and Aaron, telling them,
For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
For I am the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt so that I would be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Who shall offer it before the
LORD, and make an
atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.
And the priest will present them before the
LORD and make
atonement for her; and she shall be
ceremonially cleansed from her flow of blood. This is the law for a woman giving birth, whether to a male or to a female.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
And the priest that maketh him clean shall present the man that is to be made clean, and those things, before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
The priest who performs the
cleansing shall present the one to be
cleansed, together with these offerings, before the
LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall take one he lamb, and offer him for a
trespass offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before the
LORD:
Then the priest is to take one of the male lambs and present it as a guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil; and he must wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall
sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before the
LORD:
dip his right
forefinger into the oil in his left palm, and
sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before the
LORD.
And the
remnant of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall pour upon the head of him that is to be
cleansed: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him before the
LORD.
The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be
cleansed, to make
atonement for him before the
LORD.
And he shall bring them on the eighth day for his
cleansing unto the priest, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, before the
LORD.
On the eighth day he is to bring them for his
cleansing to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the
LORD.
And the priest shall take the lamb of the
trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the
LORD:
The priest shall take the lamb for the guilt offering, along with the log of olive oil, and wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.
And the priest shall
sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before the
LORD:
and
sprinkle with his right
forefinger some of the oil in his left palm seven times before the
LORD.
And the rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put upon the head of him that is to be
cleansed, to make an
atonement for him before the
LORD.
The rest of the oil in his palm, the priest is to put on the head of the one to be
cleansed, to make
atonement for him before the
LORD.
Even such as he is able to get, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meat offering: and the priest shall make an
atonement for him that is to be
cleansed before the
LORD.
one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering, together with the grain offering. In this way the priest will make
atonement before the
LORD for the one to be
cleansed.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
And on the eighth day he shall take to him two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, and come before the LORD unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and give them unto the priest:
On the eighth day he is to take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, come before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, and give them to the priest.
And the priest shall offer them, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for him before the
LORD for his issue.
The priest is to sacrifice them, one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make
atonement for the man before the
LORD because of his discharge.
And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an
atonement for her before the
LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.
The priest is to sacrifice one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. In this way the priest will make
atonement for her before the
LORD for her unclean discharge.
And the LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the LORD, and died;
Now the LORD spoke to Moses after the death of two of Aaron’s sons when they approached the presence of the LORD.
And the
LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the
vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.
And the
LORD said to Moses: “Tell your brother Aaron not to enter freely into the Most Holy Place behind the
veil in front of the mercy seat on the ark, or else he will die, because I appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.
And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Then he shall take the two goats and present them before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the
LORD, and the other lot for the
scapegoat.
After Aaron casts lots for the two goats, one for the
LORD and the other for the
scapegoat,
And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the LORD’S lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
he shall present the goat chosen by lot for the LORD and sacrifice it as a sin offering.
But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the
scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the
LORD, to make an
atonement with him, and to let him go for a
scapegoat into the wilderness.
But the goat chosen by lot as the
scapegoat shall be presented alive before the
LORD to make
atonement by sending it into the wilderness as the
scapegoat.
And he shall take a
censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the
LORD, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the
vail:
Then he must take a
censer full of burning coals from the altar before the
LORD, and two handfuls of finely ground
fragrant incense, and take them inside the
veil.
And he shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:
He is to put the incense on the fire before the LORD, and the cloud of incense will cover the mercy seat above the Testimony, so that he will not die.
And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the
LORD, and make an
atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the
bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
Then he shall go out to the altar that is before the
LORD and make
atonement for it. He is to take some of the bull’s blood and some of the goat’s blood and put it on all the horns of the altar.
For on that day shall the priest make an
atonement for you, to
cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the
LORD.
because on this day
atonement will be made for you to
cleanse you, and you will be clean from all your sins before the
LORD.
And this shall be an
everlasting statute unto you, to make an
atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the
LORD commanded Moses.
This is to be a permanent statute for you, to make
atonement once a year for the Israelites because of all their sins.” And all this was done as the
LORD had commanded Moses.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying,
“Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all the Israelites and tell them this is what the LORD has commanded:
And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
instead of bringing it to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting to present it as an offering to the
LORD before His tabernacle—that man shall
incur bloodguilt. He has shed blood and must be cut off from among his people.
