Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And, behold, as thy
life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my
life be much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him deliver me out of all
tribulation.
As surely as I valued your
life today, so may the LORD value my
life and
rescue me from all trouble.”
And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.
David replied, “Then you will come to know what your servant can do.” “Very well,” said Achish. “I will make you my
bodyguard for
life.”
And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a
snare for my
life, to cause me to die?
But the woman replied, “Surely you know what Saul has done, how he has killed the mediums and spiritists in the land. Why have you set a
trap to get me killed?”
And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was
sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine
handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my
life in my hand, and have
hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
When the woman came to Saul and saw how
distraught he was, she said to him, “Look, your
maidservant has obeyed your voice. I took my
life in my hands and did as you told me.
And he said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and
slay me: for
anguish is come upon me, because my
life is yet whole in me.
Then he
begged me, ‘Stand over me and kill me, for
agony has seized me, but my
life still lingers.’
Saul and
Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
Saul and
Jonathan, beloved and delightful in
life, were not divided in death. They were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions.
And they brought the head of
Ish-bosheth unto David to
Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of
Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy
life; and the LORD hath
avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
They brought the head of
Ish-bosheth to David at
Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of
Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who sought your
life.
Today the LORD has granted
vengeance to my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”
And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of
Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all
adversity,
But David answered Rechab and his brother Baanah, the sons of
Rimmon the Beerothite, “As surely as the LORD lives, who has redeemed my
life from all distress,
And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine
handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that
smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the
life of his brother whom he
slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall
quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.
Now the whole clan has risen up against your
maidservant and said, ‘Hand over the one who struck down his brother, that we may put him to death for the
life of the brother whom he killed. Then we will cut off the heir as well!’ So they would
extinguish my one remaining
ember by not preserving my husband’s name or
posterity on the earth.”
For we must needs die, and are as water
spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither
doth God respect any person: yet
doth he
devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
For surely we will die and be like water poured out on the ground, which cannot be recovered. Yet God does not take away a life; but He devises ways that the banished one may not be cast out from Him.
And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be.
But Ittai answered the king, “As surely as the LORD lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be!”
And David said to
Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my
bowels, seeketh my
life: how much more now may this
Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him
curse; for the LORD hath
bidden him.
Then David said to
Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my own son, my own flesh and blood, seeks my
life. How much more, then, this
Benjamite! Leave him alone and let him
curse me, for the LORD has told him so.
And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.
and bring all the people back to you as a
bride returning to her husband. You seek the
life of only one man; then all the people will be at peace.”
Otherwise I should have wrought
falsehood against mine own
life: for there is no matter
hid from the king, and thou
thyself wouldest have set
thyself against me.
If I had
jeopardized my own
life—and nothing is hidden from the king—you would have abandoned me.”
Now
Absalom in his
lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a
pillar, which is in the king’s
dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in
remembrance: and he called the
pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day,
Absalom’s place.
During his
lifetime,
Absalom had set up for himself a
pillar in the King’s Valley, for he had said, “I have no son to preserve the memory of my name.” So he gave the
pillar his name, and to this day it is called
Absalom’s Monument.
And
Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy
life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;
Then
Joab went into the house and said to the king, “
Today you have disgraced all your servants who have saved your
life and the lives of your sons and daughters, of your wives, and of your concubines.
And Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem?
But Barzillai replied, “How many years of my life remain, that I should go up to Jerusalem with the king?
Now therefore come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.
Now please, come and let me
advise you. Save your own
life and the
life of your son Solomon.
And the king
sware, and said, As the LORD liveth, that hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,
And the king
swore an oath, saying, “As surely as the LORD lives, who has redeemed my
life from all distress,
Then king Solomon
sware by the LORD, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own
life.
Then King Solomon
swore by the LORD: “May God
punish me, and ever so severely, if Adonijah has not made this request at the expense of his
life.
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for
thyself long
life; neither hast asked riches for
thyself, nor hast asked the
life of thine enemies; but hast asked for
thyself understanding to
discern judgment;
So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this instead of requesting long
life or wealth for
yourself or death for your enemies—but you have asked for
discernment to
administer justice—
And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.
And Solomon reigned over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These kingdoms offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake: but I will
rend it out of the hand of thy son.
Nevertheless, for the sake of your father David, I will not do it during your
lifetime; I will
tear it out of the hand of your son.
Howbeit I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand: but I will make him prince all the days of his
life for David my servant’s sake, whom I chose, because he kept my commandments and my statutes:
Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon’s hand, because I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David My servant, whom I chose because he kept My commandments and statutes.
And king
Rehoboam consulted with the old men, that stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, and said, How do ye
advise that I may answer this people?
Then King
Rehoboam consulted with the elders who had served his father Solomon during his
lifetime. “How do you
advise me to
respond to these people?” he asked.
Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
For David had done what was right in the eyes of the LORD and had not turned aside from anything the LORD commanded all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
And there was war between the houses of
Rehoboam and
Jeroboam all the days of Abijam’s
life.
And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and
cried unto the LORD, and said, O LORD my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
Then he stretched himself out over the child three times and
cried out to the LORD, “O LORD my God, please let this boy’s
life return to him!”
And the LORD heard the voice of
Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
And the LORD
listened to the voice of
Elijah, and the child’s
life returned to him, and he lived.
Then
Jezebel sent a
messenger unto
Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy
life as the
life of one of them by to
morrow about this time.
So
Jezebel sent a
messenger to
Elijah, saying, “May the gods deal with me, and ever so severely, if by this time
tomorrow I do not make your
life like the lives of those you killed!”
And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his
life, and came to Beer-
sheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
And
Elijah was afraid and ran for his
life. When he came to
Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a
juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my
life; for I am not better than my fathers.
while he himself traveled on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a
broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my
life, for I am no better than my fathers.”
And he said, I have been very
jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have
forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my
life, to take it away.
“I have been very
zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts,” he replied, “but the Israelites have
forsaken Your covenant,
torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my
life as well.”
And he said, I have been very
jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have
forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my
life, to take it away.
“I have been very
zealous for the LORD, the God of Hosts,” he replied, “but the Israelites have
forsaken Your covenant,
torn down Your altars, and killed Your prophets with the sword. I am the only one left, and they are seeking my
life as well.”
And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are
merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put
sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel:
peradventure he will save thy
life.
Then the servants of Ben-
hadad said to him, “Look now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are
merciful. Let us go out to the king of Israel with
sackcloth around our waists and ropes around our heads. Perhaps he will
spare your
life.”
So they
girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-
hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
So with
sackcloth around their waists and ropes around their heads, they went to the king of Israel and said, “Your servant Ben-
hadad says, ‘Please
spare my
life.’” And the king answered, “Is he still alive? He is my brother.”
And as the king passed by, he
cried unto the king: and he said, Thy servant went out into the midst of the battle; and, behold, a man turned aside, and brought a man unto me, and said, Keep this man: if by any means he be missing, then shall thy
life be for his
life, or else thou shalt pay a talent of silver.
As the king passed by, he
cried out to the king: “Your servant had marched out into the middle of the battle, when suddenly a man came over with a
captive and told me, ‘Guard this man! If he goes missing for any reason, your
life will be exchanged for his
life, or you will
weigh out a talent of silver.’
And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Because thou hast let go out of thy hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore thy life shall go for his life, and thy people for his people.
And the prophet said to the king, “This is what the LORD says: ‘Because you have let slip from your hand the man I had devoted to destruction, your life will be exchanged for his life, and your people for his people.’”
And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before
Elijah, and
besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my
life, and the
life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.
So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. And the third captain went up, fell on his knees before
Elijah, and
begged him, “Man of God, may my
life and the lives of these fifty servants please be precious in your sight.
Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former
fifties with their
fifties: therefore let my
life now be precious in thy sight.
Behold, fire has come down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty, with all their men. But now may my life be precious in your sight.”
And he said, About this season, according to the time of
life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said,
Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine
handmaid.
And
Elisha declared, “At this time next year, you will hold a son in your arms.” “No, my lord,” she said. “Do not lie to your
maidservant, O man of God.”
And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that
Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of
life.
But the woman did conceive, and at that time the next year she gave birth to a son, just as
Elisha had told her.
And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man
doth send unto me to recover a man of his
leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
When the king of Israel read the letter, he
tore his clothes and asked, “Am I God, killing and giving
life, that this man expects me to cure a
leper? Surely you can see that he is seeking a quarrel with me!”
Wherefore they arose and fled in the
twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their
asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their
life.
Then spake
Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to
life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and
sojourn wheresoever thou canst
sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.
Now
Elisha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to
life, “Arise, you and your household; go and live as a foreigner wherever you can. For the LORD has decreed a seven-year famine, and it has already come to the land.”
And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to
life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to
life,
cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom
Elisha restored to
life.
And Gehazi was telling the king how
Elisha had brought the dead back to
life. Just then the woman whose son
Elisha had revived came to appeal to the king for her house and her land. So Gehazi said, “My lord the king, this is the woman, and this is the son
Elisha restored to
life.”
And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings,
Jehu appointed
fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his
life shall be for the
life of him.
And they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now
Jehu had stationed eighty men outside and
warned them, “If
anyone allows one of the men I am delivering into your hands to escape, he will
forfeit his
life for theirs.”
And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for My sake and for the sake of My servant David.’”
Then said
Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?
But
Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of the LORD that you have spoken is good.” For he thought, “Will there not at least be peace and security in my
lifetime?”
And changed his prison garments: and he did eat bread continually before him all the days of his life.
So
Jehoiachin changed out of his prison clothes, and he
dined regularly at the king’s table for the rest of his
life.
And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
And the king provided
Jehoiachin a daily portion for the rest of his
life.
And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the
life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long
life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for
thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
God said to Solomon, “Since this was in your heart instead of requesting riches or wealth or glory for
yourself or death for your enemies—and since you have not even requested long
life but have asked for wisdom and knowledge to
govern My people over whom I have made you king—
And king
Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people?
Then King
Rehoboam consulted with the elders who had served his father Solomon during his
lifetime. “How do you
advise me to
respond to these people?” he asked.
That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.
Then they will be able to offer sacrifices of a sweet
aroma to the God of heaven and to pray for the lives of the king and his sons.
And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a
remnant to escape, and to give us a
nail in his holy place, that our God may
lighten our eyes, and give us a little
reviving in our
bondage.
But now, for a brief moment, grace has come from the LORD our God to preserve for us a
remnant and to give us a
stake in His holy place. Even in our
bondage, our God has given us new
life and light to our eyes.
For we were
bondmen; yet our God hath not
forsaken us in our
bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a
reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
Though we are slaves, our God has not
forsaken us in our
bondage, but He has extended to us grace in the sight of the kings of Persia, giving us new
life to rebuild the house of our God and repair its ruins, and giving us a wall of protection in Judah and Jerusalem.
And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they
fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the
rubbish which are burned?
before his associates and the army of Samaria, saying, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Can they restore the wall by themselves? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they complete it in a day? Can they bring these burnt stones back to
life from the mounds of
rubble?”
And I said, Should such a man as I
flee? and who is there, that, being as I am, would go into the temple to save his
life? I will not go in.
But I replied, “Should a man like me run away? Should one like me go into the temple to save his own life? I will not go!”
Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
You alone are the LORD. You created the heavens, the highest heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all things, and the host of heaven worships You.
Then
Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my
life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:
Queen
Esther replied, “If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, grant me my
life as my petition, and the lives of my people as my request.
And the king arising from the
banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and
Haman stood up to make request for his
life to
Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.
In his
fury, the king arose from drinking his wine and went to the palace garden, while
Haman stayed behind to
beg Queen
Esther for his
life, for he realized that the king was
planning a terrible fate for him.
Wherein the king granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together, and to stand for their
life, to destroy, to
slay, and to cause to perish, all the power of the people and province that would
assault them, both little ones and women, and to take the
spoil of them for a prey,
By these letters the king permitted the Jews in each and every city the right to
assemble and defend themselves, to destroy, kill, and
annihilate all the forces of any people or province hostile to them, including women and children, and to
plunder their possessions.
And
Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin,
yea, all that a man hath will he give for his
life.
“Skin for skin!”
Satan replied. “A man will give up all he owns in exchange for his
life.
And the LORD said unto
Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his
life.
“Very well,” said the LORD to
Satan. “He is in your hands, but you must
spare his
life.”
Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;
Why is light given to the
miserable, and
life to the bitter of soul,
Why is light given to a man whose way is
hid, and whom God hath
hedged in?
Why is
life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has
hedged in?
What is my strength, that I should hope? and what is mine end, that I should
prolong my
life?
What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What is my future, that I should be patient?
O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good.
Remember that my life is but a breath. My eyes will never again see happiness.
So that my soul chooseth
strangling, and death rather than my
life.
I
loathe it; I would not live
alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity.
I
loathe my
life! I would not live
forever. Leave me alone, for my days are but a breath.
Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would
despise my
life.
My soul is
weary of my
life; I will leave my
complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
“I
loathe my own
life; I will express my
complaint and speak in the bitterness of my soul.
Thou hast granted me
life and favour, and thy
visitation hath preserved my spirit.
You have granted me life and loving devotion, and Your care has preserved my spirit.
And thine age shall be clearer than the
noonday; thou shalt
shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
Your
life will be brighter than
noonday; its darkness will be like the morning.
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
The life of every living thing is in His hand, as well as the breath of all mankind.
With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
Wisdom is found with the elderly, and understanding comes with long life.
Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?
Why do I put myself at risk and take my life in my own hands?
He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Yet by His power, God drags away the mighty; though rising up, they have no assurance of life.
For what is the hope of the
hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
For what is the hope of the godless when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a
curse to his soul.
I have not allowed my mouth to sin by asking for his
life with a
curse—
If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:
if I have
devoured its produce without payment or broken the spirit of its tenants,
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the
Almighty hath given me
life.
The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the
Almighty gives me
life.
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
to preserve his soul from the Pit and his life from perishing by the sword.
So that his
life abhorreth bread, and his soul
dainty meat.
so that he detests his bread, and his soul loathes his
favorite food.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his
life to the destroyers.
He draws near to the Pit, and his life to the messengers of death.
He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
He redeemed my soul from going down to the Pit, and I will live to see the light.’
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be
enlightened with the light of the living.
to bring back his soul from the Pit, that he may be
enlightened with the light of
life.
He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
He does not keep the wicked alive, but He grants justice to the
afflicted.
They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
They die in their youth, among the male
shrine prostitutes.
Will he make a covenant with thee?
wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?
Will he make a covenant with you to take him as a slave for life?
Let the enemy
persecute my soul, and take it;
yea, let him
tread down my
life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust.
Selah.
then may my enemy pursue me and overtake me; may he
trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust.
Selah Thou
wilt shew me the path of
life: in thy presence is
fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for
evermore.
You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this
life, and whose
belly thou fillest with thy
hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
from such men, O LORD, by Your hand— from men of the world whose portion is in this
life. May You fill the
bellies of Your
treasured ones and satisfy their sons, so they leave their abundance to their children.
He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
He asked You for
life, and You granted it— length of days,
forever and ever.
Deliver my soul from the sword; my
darling from the power of the dog.
Deliver my soul from the sword, my precious life from the power of wild dogs.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my
life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my
life with
bloody men:
Do not take my soul away with sinners, or my
life with men of
bloodshed,
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the
stronghold of my
life— whom shall I
dread?
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my
life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to
enquire in his temple.
One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my
life, to
gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek Him in His temple.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is
life:
weeping may
endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
For His anger is fleeting, but His favor lasts a
lifetime.
Weeping may stay the night, but joy comes in the morning.
