plunder them until
dawn, leaving no man alive!” “Do what seems good to you,” the troops replied. But the priest said, “We must
consult God here.”

instructed him. He reached the camp as the army was marching out to its position and
shouting the battle cry.

May God
punish David, and ever so severely, if I let one of Nabal’s men
survive until
morning.”
For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from
hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the
morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
Otherwise, as surely as the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, who has restrained me from
harming you, if you had not come quickly to meet me, then surely no male belonging to Nabal would have been left alive by
morning light.”

Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart was

drunk. So she told him nothing until
morning light.
But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.

lean from day to day?
wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother
Absalom’s sister.

morning after
morning? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon replied, “I am in love with Tamar, my brother
Absalom’s sister.”

morning, when the sun riseth, even a
morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear
shining after rain.

morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet
Gad, David’s
seer, saying,
When David got up in the
morning, a revelation from the LORD had come to
Gad the prophet, David’s
seer:
So the LORD sent a
pestilence upon Israel from the
morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from
Dan even to Beer-
sheba seventy thousand men.
So the LORD sent a plague upon Israel from that
morning until the appointed time, and seventy thousand of the people from
Dan to
Beersheba died.
And when I rose in the
morning to give my child
suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the

And they took the bull that was given them, prepared it, and called on the name of

tidings, and we hold our peace: if we
tarry till the
morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
Finally, they said to one another, “We are not doing what is right.
Today is a day of good news. If we are silent and wait until
morning light, our sin will overtake us. Now, therefore, let us go and tell the king’s household.”
And there came a
messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the

Jehu went out and stood before all the people and said, “You are innocent. It was I who
conspired against my master and killed him. But who killed all these?
And king
Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the
morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king’s burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and
sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the
brasen altar shall be for me to
enquire by.
Then King
Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, “Offer on the great altar the
morning burnt offering, the evening grain offering, and the king’s burnt offering and grain offering, as well as the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings of all the people of the land.
Sprinkle on the altar all the blood of the burnt offerings and sacrifices. But I will use the bronze altar to seek guidance.”

And they
lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every
morning pertained to them.

spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they were responsible for guarding it and opening it every
morning.
To offer burnt offerings unto the LORD upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the LORD, which he commanded Israel;
to regularly present burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of burnt offerings, morning and evening, according to all that was written in the Law of the LORD, which He had commanded Israel to keep.
And to stand every
morning to
thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;
They were also to stand every
morning to give
thanks and praise to the LORD, and likewise in the evening.
Behold, I build an house to the name of the LORD my God, to
dedicate it to him, and to burn before him sweet incense, and for the continual
shewbread, and for the burnt offerings
morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the solemn feasts of the LORD our God. This is an
ordinance for ever to Israel.
Behold, I am about to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God to
dedicate to Him for burning
fragrant incense before Him, for displaying the
showbread continuously, and for making burnt offerings every
morning and evening as well as on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts of the LORD our God. This is ordained for Israel
forever.
And they burn unto the LORD every
morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the
shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the
candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the LORD our God; but ye have
forsaken him.
Every
morning and every evening they present burnt offerings and
fragrant incense to the LORD. They set out the rows of
showbread on the
ceremonially clean table, and every evening they light the lamps of the gold lampstand. We are carrying out the requirements of the LORD our God, while you have
forsaken Him.
And they rose early in the
morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth,
Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye
prosper.
Early in the
morning they got up and left for the Wilderness of Tekoa. As they set out,
Jehoshaphat stood up and said, “Hear me, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be
upheld; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.”
Then
Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD.

The king contributed from his own possessions for the regular morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, New Moons, and appointed feasts, as written in the Law of the LORD.
And they set the altar upon his bases; for fear was upon them because of the people of those countries: and they offered burnt offerings
thereon unto the LORD, even burnt offerings
morning and evening.

dawn until the stars came out.
And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the
morning until
midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were
attentive unto the book of the law.

Ezra read it
aloud from
daybreak until
noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate, in front of the men and women and those who could understand. And all the people
listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
In the evening she went, and on the
morrow she returned into the second house of the women, to the
custody of Shaashgaz, the king’s
chamberlain, which kept the concubines: she came in unto the king no more, except the king delighted in her, and that she were called by name.
She would go there in the evening, and in the
morning she would return to a second
harem under the care of Shaashgaz, the king’s
eunuch in charge of the concubines. She would not return to the king unless he delighted in her and summoned her by name.
His wife Zeresh and all his friends told him, “Have them build a
gallows fifty cubits high, and ask the king in the
morning to have
Mordecai hanged on it. Then go to the
banquet with the king and enjoy
yourself.” The advice pleased
Haman, and he had the
gallows constructed.
And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and
sanctified them, and rose up early in the
morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have
sinned, and
cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
And when the days of feasting were over, Job would send for his children to
purify them, rising early in the
morning to offer burnt offerings for all of them. For Job thought, “Perhaps my children have
sinned and
cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular practice.
Let the stars of the
twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the
dawning of the day:
May its
morning stars grow dark; may it wait in vain for
daylight; may it not see the breaking of
dawn.
They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.
And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?
that You attend to him every morning, and test him every moment?
And why
dost thou not
pardon my
transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the
morning, but I shall not be.
Why do You not
pardon my
transgression and take away my iniquity? For soon I will lie down in the dust; You will seek me, but I will be no more.”
And thine age shall be clearer than the
noonday; thou shalt
shine forth, thou shalt be as the
morning.
Your life will be brighter than
noonday; its darkness will be like the
morning.
For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
For to them, deep darkness is their morning; surely they are friends with the terrors of darkness!
When the
morning stars
sang together, and all the sons of God
shouted for joy?
while the
morning stars
sang together and all the sons of God
shouted for joy?
Hast thou commanded the
morning since thy days; and caused the
dayspring to know his place;
In your days, have you commanded the
morning or assigned the
dawn its place,
By his neesings a light
doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the
morning.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
In the
morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; at
daybreak I lay my
plea before You and wait in expectation.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life:
weeping may
endure for a night, but joy cometh in the
morning.
For His anger is fleeting, but His favor lasts a lifetime.
Weeping may stay the night, but joy comes in the
morning.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
God is within her; she will not be moved. God will help her when morning dawns.
Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the
morning; and their beauty shall
consume in the grave from their dwelling.
Like sheep they are destined for
Sheol. Death will be their
shepherd. The upright will rule them in the
morning, and their form will decay in
Sheol, far from their lofty abode.
Evening, and
morning, and at
noon, will I pray, and cry
aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
Morning,
noon, and night, I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.
But I will sing of thy power;
yea, I will sing
aloud of thy mercy in the
morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
But I will sing of Your strength and
proclaim Your loving devotion in the
morning. For You are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
They also that dwell in the
uttermost parts are afraid at thy
tokens: thou makest the outgoings of the
morning and evening to
rejoice.
Those who live far away fear Your wonders; You make the
dawn and
sunset shout for joy.
For all the day long have I been plagued, and
chastened every
morning.
For I am
afflicted all day long and punished every
morning.
But unto thee have I
cried, O LORD; and in the
morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
But to You, O LORD, I cry for help; in the morning my prayer comes before You.
Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
You
whisk them away in their sleep; they are like the new grass of the
morning—
In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.
in the
morning it springs up new, but by evening it fades and
withers.
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may
rejoice and be
glad all our days.
Satisfy us in the
morning with Your loving devotion, that we may sing for joy and be
glad all our days.
To
shew forth thy lovingkindness in the
morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
to
proclaim Your loving devotion in the
morning and Your faithfulness at night
I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
Every
morning I will remove all the wicked of the land, that I may cut off every
evildoer from the city of the LORD.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of
holiness from the
womb of the
morning: thou hast the
dew of thy youth.
Your people shall be willing on Your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy
splendor, from the
womb of the
dawn, to You belongs the
dew of Your youth.
I prevented the
dawning of the
morning, and
cried: I hoped in thy word.
I rise before
dawn and cry for help; in Your word I have put my hope.
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
My soul waits for the Lord more than
watchmen wait for the
morning— more than
watchmen wait for the
morning.
If I take the wings of the
morning, and dwell in the
uttermost parts of the sea;
If I rise on the wings of the
dawn, if I settle by the
farthest sea,
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul.
Come, let us take our fill of love until the
morning: let us
solace ourselves with loves.
Come, let us take our fill of love till morning. Let us delight in loving caresses!
He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the
morning, it shall be counted a
curse to him.
If one blesses his
neighbor with a loud voice early in the
morning, it will be counted to him as a
curse.
Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the
morning!
Woe to you, O land whose king is a youth, and whose princes feast in the
morning.
In the
morning sow thy seed, and in the evening
withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall
prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
Sow your seed in the
morning, and do not rest your hands in the evening, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or if both will equally
prosper.
Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?
Who is this who shines like the
dawn, as fair as the moon, as bright as the sun, as
majestic as the stars in
procession?
Woe unto them that rise up early in the
morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!
Woe to those who rise early in the
morning in pursuit of strong drink, who
linger into the evening, to be inflamed by wine.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O
Lucifer, son of the
morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which
didst weaken the nations!
How you have fallen from heaven, O day star, son of the
dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O destroyer of nations.
In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the
morning shalt thou make thy seed to
flourish: but the harvest shall be a
heap in the day of grief and of
desperate sorrow.
though on the day you plant you make them grow, and on that
morning you help your seed
sprout— yet the harvest will
vanish on the day of disease and incurable pain.
And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the
morning he is not. This is the portion of them that
spoil us, and the lot of them that
rob us.
In the evening, there is sudden terror! Before
morning, they are no more! This is the portion of those who
loot us and the lot of those who
plunder us.
The
watchman replies, “
Morning has come, but also the night. If you would inquire, then inquire. Come back yet again.”
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise.
Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy
dew is as the
dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
Your dead will live; their bodies will rise.
Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For your
dew is like the
dew of the
morning, and the earth will bring forth her dead.
From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for
morning by
morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a
vexation only to understand the report.
As often as it passes through, it will carry you away; it will
sweep through
morning after
morning, by day and by night.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.
O LORD, be
gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every
morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
O LORD, be
gracious to us! We wait for You. Be our strength every
morning and our salvation in time of trouble.
Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and
smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and
fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the
morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
Then the angel of the LORD went out and struck down 185,000 men in the camp of the Assyrians. When the people got up the next morning, there were all the dead bodies!
I reckoned till
morning, that, as a lion, so will he break all my bones: from day even to night
wilt thou make an end of me.
I composed myself until the morning. Like a lion He breaks all my bones; from day until night You make an end of me.
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is
weary: he wakeneth
morning by
morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of
discipleship, to
sustain the
weary with a word. He awakens Me
morning by
morning; He awakens My ear to
listen as a disciple.
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Then your light will break forth like the
dawn, and your
healing will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
They were as fed horses in the
morning: every one
neighed after his neighbour’s wife.
And let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and
repented not: and let him hear the cry in the
morning, and the
shouting at
noontide;
May that man be like the cities that the LORD overthrew without
compassion. May he hear an outcry in the
morning and a battle cry at
noon,
O house of David, thus saith the LORD;
Execute judgment in the
morning, and deliver him that is
spoiled out of the hand of the
oppressor, lest my
fury go out like fire, and burn that none can
quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
O house of David, this is what the LORD says: ‘
Administer justice every
morning, and
rescue the
victim of
robbery from the hand of his
oppressor, or My wrath will go forth like fire and burn with no one to
extinguish it because of their evil deeds.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.
Doom has come to you, O inhabitants of the land. The time has come; the day is near; there is
panic on the mountains instead of shouts of joy.
Behold the day, behold, it is come: the
morning is gone forth; the rod hath
blossomed, pride hath
budded.
And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
And in the morning the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. And the next morning I did as I had been commanded.
