doth every one speak of his glory.

For they shall be
ashamed of the
oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
Surely you will be
ashamed of the sacred
oaks in which you have delighted; you will be
embarrassed by the gardens that you have chosen.
For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
For you will become like an
oak whose leaves are
withered, like a garden without water.

Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the
oaks of

But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a
teil tree, and as an
oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
And though a tenth remains in the land, it will be burned again. As the
terebinth and
oak leave stumps when felled, so the holy seed will be a
stump in the land.”

cypress and the

yourselves with idols under every green tree,
slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?

To
appoint unto them that
mourn in
Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for
mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be
glorified.
to
console the mourners in
Zion— to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for
mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of
despair. So they will be called
oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be
glorified.
Then shall ye know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
Then you will know that I am the LORD, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, and under every green tree and
leafy oak—the places where they offered
fragrant incense to all their idols.

oaks of

whoredom, and your spouses shall commit
adultery.

oak,
poplar, and
terebinth, because their shade is pleasant. And so your daughters turn to
prostitution and your daughters-in-law to
adultery.
