Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put
out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn
thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it must not be
extinguished. Every morning the priest is to add wood to the fire, arrange the burnt offering on it, and burn the fat portions of the peace offerings on it.
The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.
The fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it must not be
extinguished.
And of it he shall offer one
out of the whole
oblation for an
heave offering unto the LORD, and it shall be the priest’s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings.
From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.
This is the portion of the
anointing of Aaron, and of the
anointing of his sons,
out of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister unto the LORD in the priest’s office;
This is the portion of the offerings made by fire to the LORD for Aaron and his sons since the day they were presented to serve the LORD as priests.
And he
slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and
purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and
sanctified it, to make
reconciliation upon it.
Moses slaughtered the bull, took some of the blood, and applied it with his finger to all four horns of the altar,
purifying the altar. He poured
out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar and consecrated it so that
atonement could be made on it.
But the
bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the LORD commanded Moses.
But the bull with its hide, flesh, and dung he burned outside the camp, as the LORD had commanded him.
And ye shall not go
out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven days, until the days of your
consecration be at an end: for seven days shall he
consecrate you.
You must not go
outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for seven days, until the days of your
ordination are complete; for it will take seven days to
ordain you.
And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he
dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured
out the blood at the bottom of the altar:
The sons of Aaron brought the blood to him, and he
dipped his finger in the blood and applied it to the horns of the altar. And he poured
out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp.
But he burned up the flesh and the hide outside the camp.
And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.
Moses and Aaron then entered the Tent of Meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people, and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
And there came a fire
out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they
shouted, and fell on their faces.
Fire came
out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they
shouted for joy and fell facedown.
And there went
out fire from the LORD, and
devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
So fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed them, and they died in the presence of the LORD.
And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel, and said to them, “Come here; carry the bodies of your cousins outside the camp, away from the front of the sanctuary.”
So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
So they came forward and carried them, still in their tunics, outside the camp, as Moses had directed.
And ye shall not go
out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the
anointing oil of the LORD is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
You shall not go
outside the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, or you will die, for the LORD’s
anointing oil is on you.” So they did as Moses
instructed.
And the wave breast and
heave shoulder shall ye eat in a clean place; thou, and thy sons, and thy daughters with thee: for they be thy due, and thy sons’ due, which are given
out of the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel.
And you and your sons and daughters may eat the breast of the wave offering and the
thigh of the contribution in a
ceremonially clean place, because these portions have been assigned to you and your children from the peace offerings of the sons of Israel.
For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
For I am the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt so that I would be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
And if a
leprosy break
out abroad in the skin, and the
leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot,
wheresoever the priest looketh;
But if the skin disease breaks
out all over his skin so that it covers all the skin of the
infected person from head to foot, as far as the priest can see,
And if, when the priest
seeth it, behold, it be in sight lower than the skin, and the hair thereof be turned white; the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a plague of
leprosy broken
out of the
boil.
The priest shall examine it, and if it appears to be beneath the skin and the hair in it has turned white, the priest shall
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection that has broken
out in the
boil.
Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it be in sight deeper than the skin; it is a
leprosy broken
out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is the plague of
leprosy.
the priest must examine it. If the hair in the spot has turned white and the spot appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a disease that has broken
out in the burn. The priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a diseased
infection.
Then the priest shall see the plague: and, behold, if it be in sight deeper than the skin; and there be in it a yellow thin hair; then the priest shall
pronounce him unclean: it is a dry
scall, even a
leprosy upon the head or
beard.
the priest shall examine the
infection, and if it appears to be deeper than the skin and the hair in it is yellow and thin, the priest must
pronounce him unclean; it is a
scaly outbreak, an
infectious disease of the head or
chin.
And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the plague: and, behold, if the
scall spread not, and there be in it no yellow hair, and the
scall be not in sight deeper than the skin;
On the seventh day the priest is to reexamine the
infection, and if the
scaly outbreak has not spread and there is no yellow hair in it, and it does not appear to be deeper than the skin,
And in the seventh day the priest shall look on the
scall: and, behold, if the
scall be not spread in the skin, nor be in sight deeper than the skin; then the priest shall
pronounce him clean: and he shall wash his clothes, and be clean.
On the seventh day the priest shall examine the
scaly outbreak, and if it has not spread on the skin and does not appear to be deeper than the skin, the priest is to
pronounce him clean. He must wash his clothes, and he will be clean.
If, however, the
scaly outbreak spreads further on the skin after his
cleansing,
Then the priest shall look on him: and, behold, if the
scall be spread in the skin, the priest shall not seek for yellow hair; he is unclean.
the priest is to examine him, and if the
scaly outbreak has spread on the skin, the priest need not look for yellow hair; the person is unclean.
But if the
scall be in his sight at a stay, and that there is black hair grown up therein; the
scall is
healed, he is clean: and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
If, however, in his sight the
scaly outbreak is unchanged and black hair has grown in it, then it has
healed. He is clean, and the priest is to
pronounce him clean.
Then the priest shall look: and, behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh be
darkish white; it is a
freckled spot that groweth in the skin; he is clean.
the priest shall examine them, and if the spots are dull white, it is a
harmless rash that has broken
out on the skin; the person is clean.
And the
leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper
lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.
A diseased person must wear
torn clothes and let his hair
hang loose, and he must cover his mouth and cry
out, ‘Unclean, unclean!’
All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be
defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his
habitation be.
As long as he has the
infection, he remains unclean. He must live alone in a place
outside the camp.
And if the priest look, and, behold, the plague be somewhat dark after the washing of it; then he shall
rend it
out of the garment, or
out of the skin, or
out of the
warp, or
out of the
woof:
And the priest shall go forth
out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of
leprosy be
healed in the
leper;
The priest is to go
outside the camp to examine him, and if the skin disease of the
afflicted person has
healed,
And he that is to be
cleansed shall wash his clothes, and
shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall
tarry abroad
out of his tent seven days.
The one being
cleansed must wash his clothes,
shave off all his hair, and
bathe with water; then he will be
ceremonially clean. Afterward, he may enter the camp, but he must remain
outside his tent for seven days.
Then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days:
the priest shall go
outside the
doorway of the house and close it up for seven days.
Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which the plague is, and they shall cast them into an unclean place without the city:
he must order that the
contaminated stones be pulled
out and thrown into an unclean place
outside the city.
And he shall cause the house to be
scraped within round about, and they shall pour
out the dust that they
scrape off without the city into an unclean place:
And he shall have the inside of the house
scraped completely and the
plaster that is
scraped off
dumped into an unclean place
outside the city.
And if the plague come again, and break
out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath
scraped the house, and after it is plaistered;
If the
mildew reappears in the house after the stones have been
torn out and the house has been
scraped and replastered,
And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the
morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth
out of the city into an unclean place.
It must be
torn down with its stones, its timbers, and all its
plaster, and taken
outside the city to an unclean place.
But he shall let go the living bird
out of the city into the open fields, and make an
atonement for the house: and it shall be clean.
Finally, he is to release the live bird into the open fields
outside the city. In this way he will make
atonement for the house, and it will be clean.
This is the law for all manner of plague of
leprosy, and
scall,
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.
“Say to the Israelites, ‘When any man has a bodily discharge, the discharge is unclean.
And if any man’s seed of
copulation go
out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.
When a man has an
emission of
semen, he must
bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean until evening.
And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.
When a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days at a time other than her
menstrual period, or if it continues beyond her period, she will be unclean all the days of her unclean discharge, just as she is during the days of her
menstruation.
And there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an
atonement in the holy place, until he come
out, and have made an
atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.
No one may be in the Tent of Meeting from the time Aaron goes in to make
atonement in the Most Holy Place until he leaves, after he has made
atonement for himself, his household, and the whole assembly of Israel.
And he shall go
out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an
atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the
bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
Then he shall go
out to the altar that is before the LORD and make
atonement for it. He is to take some of the bull’s blood and some of the goat’s blood and put it on all the horns of the altar.
And he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an
atonement for himself, and for the people.
He is to
bathe himself with water in a holy place and put on his own clothes. Then he must go
out and sacrifice his burnt offering and the people’s burnt offering to make
atonement for himself and for the people.
And the
bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make
atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.
The bull for the sin offering and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought into the Most Holy Place to make
atonement, must be taken
outside the camp; and their hides, flesh, and dung must be burned up.
What man
soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it
out of the camp,
‘
Anyone from the house of Israel who slaughters an ox, a lamb, or a goat in the camp or
outside of it
And
whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour
out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
And if any
Israelite or foreigner living among them hunts down a wild animal or bird that may be eaten, he must
drain its blood and cover it with
dirt.
Defile not ye
yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are
defiled which I cast
out before you:
Do not
defile yourselves by any of these practices, for by all these things the nations I am driving
out before you have
defiled themselves.
And the land is
defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth
out her inhabitants.
Even the land has become
defiled, so I am
punishing it for its sin, and the land will
vomit out its inhabitants.
That the land
spue not you
out also, when ye
defile it, as it spued
out the nations that were before you.
So if you
defile the land, it will
vomit you
out as it
spewed out the nations before you.
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be
defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
You must not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them
out, or you will be
defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.
Just balances, just weights, a just
ephah, and a just
hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you
out of the land of Egypt.
You shall maintain
honest scales and weights, an
honest ephah, and an
honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you
out of the land of Egypt.
Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land,
whither I bring you to dwell therein,
spue you not
out.
You are therefore to keep all My statutes and ordinances, so that the land where I am bringing you to live will not
vomit you
out.
And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast
out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I
abhorred them.
You must not follow the statutes of the nations I am driving
out before you. Because they did all these things, I
abhorred them.
Neither shall he go
out of the sanctuary, nor
profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the
anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.
There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a
sojourner of the priest, or an
hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.
No one
outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the
guest of a priest or his
hired hand eat it.
But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or
divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
But if a priest’s daughter with no children becomes widowed or
divorced and returns to her father’s house, she may share her father’s food as in her youth. But no
outsider may share it.
That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD.
who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.”
Ye shall bring
out of your habitations two wave
loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be
baken with
leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD.
Bring two
loaves of bread from your dwellings as a wave offering, each made from two-tenths of an
ephah of fine flour,
baked with
leaven, as the firstfruits to the LORD.
That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
so that your descendants may know that I made the Israelites dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’”
Without the
vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations.
Outside the
veil of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps continually before the LORD from evening until morning. This is to be a permanent statute for the generations to come.
Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an
everlasting covenant.
Every Sabbath day the bread is to be set out before the LORD on behalf of the Israelites as a permanent covenant.
And the son of an
Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went
out among the children of Israel: and this son of the
Israelitish woman and a man of Israel
strove together in the camp;
Now the son of an
Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went
out among the Israelites, and a fight broke
out in the camp between him and an
Israelite.
Bring forth him that hath
cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
“Take the
blasphemer outside the camp, and have all who heard him lay their hands on his head; then have the whole assembly stone him.
And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had
cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the
blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. So the Israelites did as the LORD had commanded Moses.
For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
For it is a
Jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You may eat only the crops taken directly from the field.
But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
But if he cannot obtain enough to repay him, what he sold will remain in possession of the
buyer until the Year of
Jubilee. In the
Jubilee, however, it is to be released, so that he may return to his property.
And if it be not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be established for ever to him that bought it throughout his generations: it shall not go out in the jubile.
If it is not redeemed by the end of a full year, then the house in the walled city is permanently transferred to its
buyer and his descendants. It is not to be released in the
Jubilee.
But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them shall be counted as the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall go out in the jubile.
But houses in villages with no walls around them are to be considered as open fields. They may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the
Jubilee.
And if a man purchase of the Levites, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the year of jubile: for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.
So whatever belongs to the Levites may be redeemed—a house sold in a city they possess—and must be released in the
Jubilee, because the houses in the cities of the Levites are their possession among the Israelites.
I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth
out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of
Canaan, and to be your God.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you
out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of
Canaan and to be your God.
For they are my servants, which I brought forth
out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as
bondmen.
Because the Israelites are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt, they are not to be sold as slaves.
If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his
redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
If many years remain, he must pay for his
redemption in proportion to his purchase price.
And if he be not redeemed in these years, then he shall go out in the year of jubile, both he, and his children with him.
Even if he is not redeemed in any of these ways, he and his children shall be released in the Year of
Jubilee.
For unto me the children of Israel are servants; they are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
For the Israelites are My servants. They are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
And I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to fear. I will rid the land of dangerous animals, and no sword will pass through your land.
And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
You will still be eating the old supply of grain when you need to clear it out to make room for the new.
I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth
out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their
bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians. I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk in uprightness.
But if ye will not
hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
If, however, you fail to obey Me and to carry out all these commandments,
And if ye shall
despise my statutes, or if your soul
abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
and if you
reject My statutes,
despise My ordinances, and neglect to carry
out all My commandments, and so break My covenant,
And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall
bake your bread in one
oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
When I cut off your supply of bread, ten women will
bake your bread in a single
oven and
dole out your bread by weight, so that you will eat but not be satisfied.
And I will
scatter you among the heathen, and will draw
out a sword after you: and your land shall be
desolate, and your cities waste.
But I will
scatter you among the nations and will draw
out a sword after you as your land becomes
desolate and your cities are laid waste.
But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the LORD.
But for their sake I will remember the covenant with their fathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am the LORD.”
But the field, when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest’s.
When the field is released in the
Jubilee, it will become holy, like a field devoted to the LORD; it becomes the property of the priests.
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of
Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come
out of the land of Egypt, saying,
On the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites had come
out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of
Sinai. He said:
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were an hundred thousand and
fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies. These shall first set forth.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Judah is 186,400; they shall set out first.
All that were numbered in the camp of
Reuben were an hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, throughout their armies. And they shall set forth in the second rank.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of
Reuben is 151,450; they shall set
out second.
Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall set forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they
encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place by their standards.
In the middle of the camps, the Tent of Meeting is to travel with the camp of the Levites. They are to set
out in the order they
encamped, each in his own place under his standard.
All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were an hundred thousand and eight thousand and an hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Ephraim is 108,100; they shall set out third.
All they that were numbered in the camp of
Dan were an hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They shall go
hindmost with their standards.
The total number of men in the camp of
Dan is 157,600; they shall set
out last, under their standards.”
And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers.
So the Israelites did everything the LORD commanded Moses; they camped under their standards in this way and set out in the same way, each man with his clan and his family.
And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.
Assign the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been given exclusively to him from among the Israelites.
And thou shalt
appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest’s office: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
So you shall
appoint Aaron and his sons to carry
out the duties of the priesthood; but any
outsider who approaches the tabernacle must be put to death.”
But those that
encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons were to camp to the east of the tabernacle, toward the
sunrise, before the Tent of Meeting. They were to perform the duties of the sanctuary as a service on behalf of the Israelites; but any
outsider who approached the sanctuary was to be put to death.
And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and
threescore and thirteen of the
firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;
And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
Whenever the camp sets
out, Aaron and his sons are to go in, take down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.
