The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were present.
And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent
straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him.
Farewell.
When I was informed that there was a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once. I also
instructed his accusers to
present their case against him before you.
Who, when they came to Caesarea, and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.
When the
horsemen arrived in Caesarea, they delivered the letter to the governor and
presented Paul to him.
And after five days
Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain
orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.
Five days later the high priest
Ananias came down with some elders and a
lawyer named Tertullus, who
presented to the governor their case against Paul.
Now after many years I came to bring
alms to my nation, and offerings.
After several years, then, I returned to Jerusalem to bring
alms to my people and to
present offerings.
Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and
besought him,
where the chief priests and Jewish leaders
presented their case against Paul. They urged
Festus About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment against him.
While I was in Jerusalem, the chief priests and elders of the Jews presented their case and requested a judgment against him.
And
Festus said, King
Agrippa, and all men which are here
present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.
Then
Festus said, “King
Agrippa and all who are
present with us, you see this man. The whole Jewish community has petitioned me about him, both here and in Jerusalem, crying out that he ought not to live any longer.
And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they
kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the
present rain, and because of the cold.
The islanders showed us extraordinary kindness. They
kindled a fire and
welcomed all of us because it was raining and cold.
Whom God hath set forth to be a
propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the
justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
He did this to
demonstrate His righteousness at the
present time, so as to be just and to
justify the one who has faith in Jesus.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield
yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Do not
present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but
present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and
present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
So this is the principle I have discovered: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
For I
reckon that the sufferings of this
present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
We know that the whole creation has been
groaning together in the pains of
childbirth until the
present time.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things
present, nor things to come,
For I am
convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
principalities, neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers,
Even so then at this
present time also there is a
remnant according to the election of grace.
In the same way, at the
present time there is a
remnant chosen by grace.
I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Therefore I
urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or
Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things
present, or things to come; all are yours;
whether Paul or Apollos or
Cephas or the world or life or death or the
present or the future. All of them belong to you,
Even unto this
present hour we both hunger, and
thirst, and are naked, and are
buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
To this very hour we are
hungry and
thirsty, we are poorly clothed, we are
brutally treated, we are homeless.
For I
verily, as absent in body, but
present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were
present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
Although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.
I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.
Because of the
present crisis, I think it is good for a man to remain as he is.
And they that use this world, as not
abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
and those who use the things of this world, as if not dependent on them. For this world in its present form is passing away.
For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God has composed the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this
present, but some are fallen
asleep.
After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen
asleep.
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence.
We are
confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be
present with the Lord.
We are
confident, then, and would
prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
So we
aspire to please Him, whether we are here in this body or away from it.
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
At the
present time, your
surplus will meet their need, so that in turn their
surplus will meet your need. Then there will be equality.
But I
beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am
present with that confidence,
wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
I
beg you that when I come I may not need to be as bold as I expect toward those who
presume that we live according to the flesh.
Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.
Such people should consider that what we are in our letters when absent, we will be in our actions when present.
For I am
jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have
espoused you to one husband, that I may
present you as a
chaste virgin to Christ.
I am
jealous for you with a godly jealousy. For I promised you to one husband, to
present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
And when I was
present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from
Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being
burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
And when I was with you and in need, I was not a burden to
anyone; for the brothers who came from
Macedonia supplied my needs. I have
refrained from being a burden to you in any way, and I will continue to do so.
I told you before, and
foretell you, as if I were
present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which
heretofore have
sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not
spare:
Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being
present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to
edification, and not to destruction.
This is why I write these things while absent, so that when I am
present I will not need to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord gave me for building you up, not for
tearing you down.
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
who gave Himself for our sins to
rescue us from the
present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
But it is good to be
zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am
present with you.
Nevertheless, it is good to be
zealous if it serves a noble purpose—at any time, and not only when I am with you.
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.
how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am
perplexed about you.
For this
Agar is mount
Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in
bondage with her children.
Now
Hagar stands for Mount
Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the
present-day Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children.
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
That he might
present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or
wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without
blemish.
Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
So I hope to send him as soon as I see what happens with me.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Whom we
preach,
warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may
present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the
stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
For although I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit, and I delight to see your orderly condition and firm faith in Christ.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but
godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
For physical exercise is of limited value, but
godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for the
present life and for the one to come.
Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
Instruct those who are rich in the
present age not to be
conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy.
Make every effort to
present yourself approved to God, an unashamed
workman who accurately handles the word of truth.
Teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this
present world;
It instructs us to
renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the
present age,
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
and placed everything under his feet.” When God subjected all things to him, He left nothing outside of his control. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
It is an illustration for the
present time, because the gifts and sacrifices being offered were unable to
cleanse the conscience of the worshiper.
Now no
chastening for the
present seemeth to be
joyous, but
grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields a harvest of righteousness and peace to those who have been trained by it.
Wherefore I will not be
negligent to put you always in
remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the
present truth.
Therefore I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you now have.
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
And by that same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Now to Him who is able to keep you from
stumbling and to
present you
unblemished in His glorious presence, with great joy—
So the children of Israel which were
present held the
passover at that time, and the feast of sweet bread seven days.
And all the multitude sat
trembling in the broad court of the temple because of the
present foul weather.
And I said, As thou hast said unto thy servant, that thou, which givest life to all, hast given life at once to the creature that thou hast created, and the creature bare it: even so it might now also bear them that now be present at once.
And
ere the
present years were sought out, and or ever the inventions of them that now sin were turned, before they were sealed that have gathered faith for a
treasure:
Why hast thou not considered in thy mind this thing that is to come, rather than that which is present?
He answered me, and said, This
present life is not the end where much glory
doth abide; therefore have they prayed for the weak.
For what profit is it for men now in this
present time to live in
heaviness, and after death to look for punishment?
And that he is of great mercy, for he multiplieth more and more
mercies to them that are
present, and that are past, and also to them which are to come.
I will tell thee a
similitude,
Esdras; As when thou askest the earth, it shall say unto thee, that it giveth much mould
whereof earthen vessels are made, but little dust that gold cometh of: even so is the course of this
present world.
Then answered he me, and said, Things present are for the present, and things to cometh for such as be to come.
But the earth not so: for the multitude present in it according to the course of the earth is gone, as it came:
Behold, Lord, I will go, as thou hast commanded me, and reprove the people which are
present: but they that shall be born afterward, who shall
admonish them? thus the world is set in darkness, and they that dwell therein are without light.
I have given my daughter in marriage to seven men, who died that night they came in unto her: nevertheless for the

bedchamber, neither little nor great. Then

present upon the works of mine hands for the
exaltation of Jerusalem.
Therefore have we commanded, that all they that are
signified in writing unto you by Aman, who is ordained over the affairs, and is next unto us, shall all, with their wives and children, be utterly destroyed by the sword of their enemies, without all mercy and
pity, the
fourteenth day of the
twelfth month
Adar of this
present year:
Neither had thine
handmaid any joy since the day that I was brought
hither to this
present, but in thee, O Lord God of Abraham.
Come on therefore, let us enjoy the good things that are present: and let us speedily use the creatures like as in youth.
When it is
present, men take example at it; and when it is gone, they desire it: it weareth a crown, and triumpheth for ever, having
gotten the victory,
striving for
undefiled rewards.

O send her out of thy holy heavens, and from the throne of thy glory, that being present she may labour with me, that I may know what is pleasing unto thee.
Whether they were absent or
present, they were
vexed alike.
Whom men could not honour in presence, because they dwelt far off, they took the
counterfeit of his
visage from far, and made an express image of a king whom they honoured, to the end that by this their forwardness they might
flatter him that was absent, as if he were
present.
The fear of the Lord driveth away sins: and where it is present, it turneth away wrath.
Keep thee far from the man that hath power to kill; so shalt thou not doubt the fear of death: and if thou come unto him, make no fault, lest he take away thy life presently: remember that thou goest in the midst of snares, and that thou walkest upon the battlements of the city.
Presents and gifts blind the eyes of the wise, and stop up his mouth that he cannot reprove.
When thou art
present, he will speak sweetly, and will
admire thy words: but at the last he will
writhe his mouth, and
slander thy sayings.
Gold hath been the ruin of many, and their destruction was present.
A
present remedy of all is a
mist coming speedily, a
dew coming after heat refresheth.
Since the day that the Lord brought our forefathers out of the land of Egypt, unto this
present day, we have been
disobedient unto the Lord our God, and we have been
negligent in not hearing his voice.
Who
thereupon went honourably to
Ptolemais, where he met the two kings, and gave them and their friends silver and gold, and many
presents, and found favour in their sight.
And took silver and gold, and
raiment, and
divers presents besides, and went to
Ptolemais unto the king, where he found favour in his sight.
Now as he was there

astonished at the power of God, and
fainted, and were
sore afraid.
Now when the game that was used every faith year was kept at Tyrus, the king being present,
And
whoso would not
conform themselves to the manners of the Gentiles should be put to death. Then might a man have seen the
present misery.
For though for the
present time I should be delivered from the punishment of men: yet should I not escape the hand of the
Almighty, neither alive, nor dead.
And when he was at the last
gasp, he said, Thou like a
fury takest us out of this
present life, but the King of the world shall raise us up, who have died for his laws, unto
everlasting life.
Came to king
Demetrius in the hundred and one and
fiftieth year,
presenting unto him a crown of gold, and a palm, and also of the boughs which were used solemnly in the temple: and so that day he held his peace.
