And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.

tear the new garment as well, and the
patch from the new will not
match the old.

spill, and the wineskins will be ruined.
But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
Instead, new wine is poured into new wineskins.
No man, when he hath lighted a
candle, covereth it with a vessel, or
putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a

Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

put forth a parable to those which were
bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them,

rejoicing.
And when he finds it, he
joyfully puts it on his shoulders,
But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best
robe, and
put it on him; and
put a ring on his hand, and
shoes on his feet:
But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best
robe and
put it on him.
Put a ring on his finger and
sandals on his feet.
I am resolved what to do, that, when I am
put out of the
stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
I know what I will do, so that after my removal from management, people will
welcome me into their homes.’

And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
“Truly I tell you,” He said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.
For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her
penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
For they all contributed out of their
surplus, but she out of her poverty has
put in all she had to live on.”
And ye shall be
betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be

impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to
put me into the
pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

pool when the water is
stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me.”
Do not think that I will
accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

accuse you before the Father. Your
accuser is Moses, in whom you have
put your hope.
Then again the
Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He
put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.

These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did
confess that he was Christ, he should be
put out of the
synagogue.

anyone who
confessed Jesus as the Christ would be
put out of the
synagogue.

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a
thief, and had the
bag, and bare what was
put therein.
Judas did not say this because he cared about the poor, but because he was a
thief. As keeper of the money
bag, he used to take from what was
put into it.
But the chief priests consulted that they might
put Lazarus also to death;
So the chief priests made plans to kill
Lazarus as well,
Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the
Pharisees they did not
confess him, lest they should be
put out of the
synagogue:
Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in Him; but because of the
Pharisees they did not
confess Him, for fear that they would be
put out of the
synagogue.
The evening meal was underway, and the devil had already
put into the heart of
Judas, the son of Simon
Iscariot, to
betray Jesus.
So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
When Jesus had washed their feet and
put on His outer garments, He
reclined with them again and asked, “Do you know what I have done for you?
They shall
put you out of the synagogues:
yea, the time cometh, that
whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.
They will
put you out of the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when
anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God.

execute anyone,” the Jews replied.

platted a crown of thorns, and
put it on his head, and they
put on him a purple

And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
“Woman, why are you
weeping?” they asked. “Because they have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I do not know where they have
put Him.”
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
“Woman, why are you
weeping?” Jesus asked. “Whom are you seeking?” Thinking He was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried Him off, tell me where you have
put Him, and I will get Him.”
The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the
nails, and
put my finger into the print of the
nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “Unless I see the
nail marks in His hands, and
put my finger where the
nails have been, and
put my hand into His side, I will never believe.”
Then saith he to Thomas, reach
hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach
hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he
girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he
put on his outer garment (for he had removed it) and
jumped into the sea.

put Him to death by
nailing Him to the cross.
And a certain man
lame from his mother’s
womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask
alms of them that entered into the temple;
And a man who was
lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was
put every day to
beg from those entering the temple courts.
And they laid hands on them, and
put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now
eventide.

And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
and arrested the apostles and
put them in the public
jail.
Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
Then someone came in and
announced, “Look, the men you
put in
jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people!”
When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to
slay them.
When the Council members heard this, they were
enraged, and they resolved to
put the apostles to death.
Then stood there up one in the council, a
Pharisee, named
Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to
put the apostles forth a little space;
But a
Pharisee named
Gamaliel, a teacher of the law who was honored by all the people, stood up in the
Sanhedrin and ordered that the men be
put outside for a short time.

And hath seen in a vision a man named
Ananias coming in, and
putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
In a vision he has seen a man named
Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”

Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and
putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
So
Ananias went to the house, and when he arrived, he placed his hands on Saul. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here, has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
And Peter said unto him,
Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and
put away your mat.” Immediately
Aeneas got up,
But Peter
put them all forth, and
kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Then Peter sent them all out of the room. He
knelt down and prayed, and turning toward her body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, she sat up.
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they
slew and
hanged on a tree:
We are witnesses of all that He did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. And although they put Him to death by hanging Him on a tree,
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and
glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted
repentance unto life.
When they heard this, their objections were
put to rest, and they
glorified God, saying, “So then, God has granted even the Gentiles
repentance unto life.”

Passover.
And the angel said unto him,
Gird thyself, and bind on thy
sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

Wrap your
cloak around you and follow me.”

Judea to Caesarea and spent some time there.
Then Paul and
Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye
put it from you, and judge
yourselves unworthy of
everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
Then Paul and
Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you
reject it and do not consider
yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.
And
put no difference between us and them,
purifying their hearts by faith.
He made no distinction between us and them, for He
cleansed their hearts by faith.
Now therefore why
tempt ye God, to
put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Now then, why do you test God by placing on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?
And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews
putting him forward. And Alexander
beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.
The Jews in the crowd pushed Alexander forward to explain himself, and he motioned for silence so he could make his
defense to the people.
Then
straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
Then those who were about to
interrogate Paul
stepped back, and the commander himself was
alarmed when he realized that he had
put a Roman citizen in chains.
Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
And that is what I did in Jerusalem. With authority from the chief priests I put many of the saints in prison, and when they were condemned to death, I cast my vote against them.
And when we had
launched from thence, we sailed under
Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
After
putting out from there, we sailed to the
lee of
Cyprus because the winds were against us.
And there the
centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he
put us therein.
Putting in at
Syracuse, we stayed there three days.
And from thence we
fetched a compass, and came to
Rhegium: and after one day the south wind
blew, and we came the next day to
Puteoli:
From there we
weighed anchor and came to
Rhegium. After one day, a south wind came up, and on the second day we arrived at
Puteoli.
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment,
deceived me, and by it
slew me.
For sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment,
deceived me and through the commandment
put me to death.
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do
mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
As it is written, Behold, I lay in
Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and
whosoever believeth on him shall not be
ashamed.
as it is written: “See, I lay in
Zion a stone of
stumbling and a rock of
offense; and the one who believes in Him will never be
put to shame.”
It is just as the Scripture says: “
Anyone who believes in Him will never be
put to shame.”
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
The night is nearly over; the day has drawn near. So let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and
put on the
armor of light.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Instead,
clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
Therefore let us stop judging one another. Instead, make up your mind not to
put any
stumbling block or
obstacle in your brother’s way.
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of
Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
And once more, Isaiah says: “The Root of
Jesse will appear, One who will arise to rule over the Gentiles; in Him the Gentiles will
put their hope.”
Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
However, I have written you a bold reminder on some points, because of the grace God has given me
But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore
put away from among
yourselves that wicked person.
God will judge those outside. “
Expel the wicked man from among you.”
But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be
reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband
put away his wife.
But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be
reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not
divorce his wife.
But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If a brother has an unbelieving wife and she is willing to live with him, he must not
divorce her.
If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
If others have this right to your support, shouldn’t we have it all the more? But we did not exercise this right. Instead, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ.
