And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the
creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and
Noah only
remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
And every living thing on the face of the earth was destroyed—man and
livestock,
crawling creatures and birds of the air; they were
blotted out from the earth, and only
Noah and those with him in the ark
remained.
While the earth
remaineth,
seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall never cease.”
And the
vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of
Sodom and
Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that
remained fled to the mountain.
Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and as the kings of
Sodom and
Gomorrah fled, some men fell into the pits, but the survivors fled to the hill country.
And
Abram said, Lord GOD, what
wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the
steward of my house is this
Eliezer of Damascus?
But
Abram replied, “O Lord GOD, what can You give me, since I
remain childless, and the heir of my house is
Eliezer of Damascus?”

Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have

Laban and have
remained there until now.

remained silent about it until they returned.

Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest

And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only.
The frogs will depart from you and your houses and your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.”

remained.
Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the
hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
So give orders now to shelter your
livestock and everything you have in the field. Every man or beast that
remains in the field and is not brought inside will die when the
hail comes down upon them.’”
And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which
remaineth unto you from the
hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
They will cover the face of the land so that no one can see it. They will
devour whatever is left after the
hail and eat every tree that grows in your fields.
For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was
darkened; and they did eat every
herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the
hail had left: and there
remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
They covered the face of all the land until it was black, and they consumed all the plants on the ground and all the fruit on the trees that the
hail had left behind. Nothing green was left on any tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.

locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

blew them into the Red Sea. Not a single
locust remained anywhere in Egypt.

chariots, and the
horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there
remained not so much as one of them.

chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To
morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD:
bake that which ye will
bake to day, and
seethe that ye will
seethe; and that which
remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
He told them, “This is what the LORD has said: ‘
Tomorrow is to be a day of complete rest, a holy Sabbath to the LORD. So
bake what you want to
bake, and
boil what you want to
boil. Then set aside whatever
remains and keep it until morning.’”
But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat
thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
When Moses’ hands grew heavy, they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held his hands up, one on each side, so that his hands remained steady until the sun went down.
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with
leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice
remain until the morning.
You must not offer the blood of My sacrifices with anything
leavened, nor may the fat of My feast
remain until morning.
They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a
snare unto thee.
They must not
remain in your land, lest they cause you to sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a
snare to you.”

staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.
The poles are to remain in the rings of the ark; they must not be removed.
And the
remnant that
remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half
curtain that
remaineth, shall
hang over the
backside of the tabernacle.
As for the
overlap that
remains of the tent curtains, the half
curtain that is left over shall
hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
And a
cubit on the one side, and a
cubit on the other side of that which
remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall
hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.
And the tent curtains will be a
cubit longer on either side, and the excess will
hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.
six of their names on one stone and the remaining six on the other, in the order of their birth.
Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the
tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the
tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the
thumb of their right hand, and upon the great
toe of their right foot, and
sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.
Slaughter the ram, take some of its blood, and put it on the right earlobes of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the
big toes of their right feet.
Sprinkle the
remaining blood on all sides of the altar.
And if ought of the flesh of the consecrations, or of the bread, remain unto the morning, then thou shalt burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.
And if any of the meat of
ordination or any bread is left until the morning, you are to burn up the
remainder. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the
cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
As Moses entered the tent, the
pillar of cloud would come down and
remain at the entrance, and the LORD would speak with Moses.
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with
leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the
passover be left unto the morning.
Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to Me along with anything
leavened, and do not let any of the sacrifice from the
Passover Feast
remain until morning.
And the
remnant of the meat offerings shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
The remainder of the grain offering shall belong to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the offerings made by fire to the LORD.
And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
But the remainder of the grain offering shall belong to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the offerings made by fire to the LORD.
And the priest shall make an
atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath
sinned in one of these, and it shall be
forgiven him: and the
remnant shall be the priest’s, as a meat offering.
In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for any of these sins he has committed, and he will be
forgiven. The
remainder will belong to the priest, like the grain offering.”
Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.
“Command Aaron and his sons that this is the law of the burnt offering: The burnt offering is to
remain on the
hearth of the altar all night, until morning, and the fire must be kept burning on the altar.
And the
remainder thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat: with
unleavened bread shall it be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation they shall eat it.
Aaron and his sons are to eat the
remainder. It must be eaten without
leaven in a holy place; they are to eat it in the
courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.
But if the sacrifice of his offering be a
vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offereth his sacrifice: and on the
morrow also the
remainder of it shall be eaten:
If, however, the sacrifice he offers is a
vow or a
freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day he presents his sacrifice, but the
remainder may be eaten on the next day.
But the remainder of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burnt with fire.
But any meat of the sacrifice remaining until the third day must be burned up.
And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.
Then you must burn up the remainder of the meat and bread.
Therefore shall ye
abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.
You must remain at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting day and night for seven days and keep the LORD’s charge so that you will not die, for this is what I have been commanded.”
Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be
sanctified in them that come
nigh me, and before all the people I will be
glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

holiness, and in the sight of all the people I will
reveal My glory.’” But Aaron
remained silent.
And Moses spake unto Aaron, and unto
Eleazar and unto
Ithamar, his sons that were left, Take the meat offering that
remaineth of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without
leaven beside the altar: for it is most holy:
And Moses said to Aaron and his
remaining sons,
Eleazar and
Ithamar, “Take the grain offering that
remains from the offerings made by fire to the LORD and eat it without
leaven beside the altar, because it is most holy.
And Moses
diligently sought the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was burnt: and he was
angry with
Eleazar and
Ithamar, the sons of Aaron which were left alive, saying,
Later, Moses searched carefully for the goat of the sin offering, and behold, it had been burned up. He was
angry with
Eleazar and
Ithamar, Aaron’s
remaining sons, and asked,
And upon
whatsoever any of them, when they are dead,
doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or
raiment, or skin, or
sack,
whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be
cleansed.
When one of them dies and falls on something, that article becomes unclean; any article of wood, clothing, leather,
sackcloth, or any
implement used for work must be
rinsed with water and will
remain unclean until evening; then it will be clean.
And every thing
whereupon any part of their
carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be
oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
Anything upon which one of their
carcasses falls will be unclean. If it is an
oven or
cooking pot, it must be
smashed; it is unclean and will
remain unclean for you.
Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is
plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their
carcase shall be unclean.
Nevertheless, a spring or
cistern containing water will
remain clean, but one who touches a
carcass in it will be unclean.
But if the bright spot stay in his place, and spread not, it is a burning
boil; and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
But if the spot
remains unchanged and does not spread, it is only the
scar from the
boil, and the priest shall
pronounce him clean.
All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be
defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his
habitation be.
As long as he has the
infection, he
remains unclean. He must live alone in a place outside the camp.
And he that is to be
cleansed shall wash his clothes, and
shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall
tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.
The one being
cleansed must wash his clothes,
shave off all his hair, and
bathe with water; then he will be
ceremonially clean. Afterward, he may enter the camp, but he must
remain outside his tent for seven days.
And of the rest of the oil that is in his hand shall the priest put upon the
tip of the right ear of him that is to be
cleansed, and upon the
thumb of his right hand, and upon the great
toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the
trespass offering:
And the priest is to put some of the oil
remaining in his palm on the right earlobe of the one to be
cleansed, on the
thumb of his right hand, and on the
big toe of his right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.
And every garment, and every skin,
whereon is the seed of
copulation, shall be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.
Any clothing or leather on which there is an
emission of
semen must be washed with water, and it will
remain unclean until evening.
The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of
copulation, they shall both
bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.
If a man lies with a woman and there is an
emission of
semen, both must
bathe with water, and they will
remain unclean until evening.
And he shall make an
atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that
remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
So he shall make
atonement for the Most Holy Place because of the impurities and
rebellious acts of the Israelites in regard to all their sins. He is to do the same for the Tent of Meeting which abides among them, because it is surrounded by their impurities.
It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the
morrow: and if ought
remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire.
It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it, or on the next day; but what remains on the third day must be burned up.
The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he wash his flesh with water.
the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.
When a
bullock, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it shall be seven days under the
dam; and from the eighth day and
thenceforth it shall be accepted for an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
“When an ox, a sheep, or a goat is born, it must remain with its mother for seven days. From the eighth day on, it will be acceptable as an offering made by fire to the LORD.
According to the number of years after the jubile thou shalt
buy of thy neighbour, and according unto the number of years of the fruits he shall sell unto thee:
You are to
buy from your
neighbor according to the number of years since the last
Jubilee; he is to sell to you according to the number of harvest years
remaining.
But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
But if he cannot obtain enough to repay him, what he sold will
remain in possession of the
buyer until the Year of
Jubilee. In the
Jubilee, however, it is to be released, so that he may return to his property.
If there be yet many years behind, according unto them he shall give again the price of his
redemption out of the money that he was bought for.
If many years
remain, he must pay for his
redemption in proportion to his purchase price.
And if there
remain but few years unto the year of jubile, then he shall count with him, and according unto his years shall he give him again the price of his
redemption.
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall
abhor you.
I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and
heap your lifeless bodies on the lifeless
remains of your idols; and My soul will
despise you.
But if he
sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall
reckon unto him the money according to the years that
remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it shall be
abated from thy
estimation.
But if he consecrates his field after the
Jubilee, the priest is to
calculate the price in proportion to the years left until the next Year of
Jubilee, so that your
valuation will be reduced.
And upon the table of
shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put
thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the
bowls, and covers to cover
withal: and the continual bread shall be
thereon:
Over the table of the Presence they are to spread a blue cloth and place the plates and cups on it, along with the
bowls and pitchers for the drink offering. The regular bread offering is to
remain on it.
So it was
alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
It remained that way continually; the cloud would cover the tabernacle by day, and at night it would appear like fire.
At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents.
At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at the LORD’s command they camped. As long as the cloud
remained over the tabernacle, they
remained encamped.
And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed.
Sometimes the cloud remained over the tabernacle for only a few days, and they would camp at the LORD’s command and set out at the LORD’s command.
And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed.
Sometimes the cloud remained only from evening until morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they would set out. Whether it was by day or by night, when the cloud was taken up, they would set out.
Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud
tarried upon the tabernacle,
remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed.
Whether the cloud
lingered for two days, a month, or longer, the Israelites camped and did not set out as long as the cloud
remained over the tabernacle; but when it was lifted, they would set out.
But there
remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was
Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they
prophesied in the camp.
Two men, however, had
remained in the camp—one named
Eldad and the other Medad—and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those listed, but they had not gone out to the tent, and they
prophesied in the camp.
And the people journeyed from
Kibroth-hattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.
From
Kibroth-hattaavah the people moved on to Hazeroth, where they
remained for some time.
But Joshua the son of
Nun, and
Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived still.
Of those men who had gone to
spy out the land, only Joshua son of
Nun and
Caleb son of Jephunneh
remained alive.
Because he hath
despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
He shall certainly be cut off, because he has
despised the word of the LORD and broken His commandment; his guilt
remains on him.”
Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not
sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
Anyone who touches a human
corpse and fails to
purify himself defiles the tabernacle of the LORD. That person must be cut off from Israel. He
remains unclean, because the water of
purification has not been
sprinkled on him, and his uncleanness is still on him.
Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
A ruler will come from Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city.”
All of you who have killed a person or touched the dead are to
remain outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and the seventh day you are to
purify both
yourselves and your
captives.
And the
booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,
and this
plunder remained from the spoils the soldiers had taken: 675,000 sheep,
But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the
fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
But we will arm ourselves and be ready to go
ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them into their place. Meanwhile, our little ones will
remain in the fortified cities for protection from the inhabitants of the land.
Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of
Gilead:
Our children, our wives, our
livestock, and all our animals will
remain here in the cities of
Gilead.
But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let
remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall
vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, those you allow to
remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides; they will
harass you in the land where you settle.
Because he should have
remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the
slayer shall return into the land of his possession.
because the
manslayer must
remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest. Only after the death of the high priest may he return to the land he owns.
And they were married into the families of the sons of
Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance
remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
They married within the clans of the descendants of
Manasseh son of Joseph, and their inheritance
remained within the tribe of their father’s clan.
And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:
At that time we captured all his cities and devoted to destruction the people of every city, including women and children. We left no survivors.
So the LORD our God delivered into our hands
Og also, the king of
Bashan, and all his people: and we
smote him until none was left to him
remaining.
So the LORD our God also delivered
Og king of
Bashan and his whole army into our hands. We struck them down until no
survivor was left.
For only
Og king of
Bashan remained of the
remnant of giants; behold, his
bedstead was a
bedstead of iron; is it not in
Rabbath of the children of
Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the
cubit of a man.
(For only
Og king of
Bashan had
remained of the
remnant of the
Rephaim. His bed of iron, nine cubits long and four cubits wide, is still in Rabbah of the
Ammonites.)
But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall
abide in your cities which I have given you;
But your wives, your children, and your
livestock—I know that you have much
livestock—may
remain in the cities I have given you,
When thou shalt
beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have
remained long in the land, and shall corrupt
yourselves, and make a
graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to
provoke him to anger:
After you have children and grandchildren and you have been in the land a long time, if you then act corruptly and make an
idol of any form—doing evil in the sight of the LORD your God and
provoking Him to anger—
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
And thou shalt gather all the
spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the
spoil thereof every
whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an
heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
And you are to gather all its
plunder in the middle of the public square, and completely burn the city and all its
plunder as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God. The city must
remain a
mound of ruins
forever, never to be rebuilt.
And there shall be no
leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even,
remain all night until the morning.
No
leaven is to be found in all your land for seven days, and none of the meat you sacrifice in the evening of the first day shall
remain until morning.
And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
It is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by carefully observing all the words of this instruction and these statutes.
And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
Then the rest of the people will hear and be afraid, and they will never again do anything so evil among you.
And she shall put the
raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall
remain in thine house, and
bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
and put aside the clothing of her captivity. After she has lived in your house a full month and
mourned her father and mother, you may have relations with her and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.
His body shall not
remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise
bury him that day; (for he that is
hanged is
accursed of God;) that thy land be not
defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
you must not leave the body on the tree overnight, but you must be sure to
bury him that day, because
anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s
curse. You must not
defile the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.
And if thy brother be not
nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.
If your brother does not live near you, or if you do not know who he is, you are to take the animal home to remain with you until your brother comes seeking it; then you can return it to him.
And they shall
amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the
damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
They are also to fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give them to the young woman’s father, because this man has given a virgin of Israel a bad name. And she shall
remain his wife; he must not
divorce her as long as he lives.
When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
When you beat the olives from your trees, you must not go over the branches again. What remains will be for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow.
When thou gatherest the grapes of thy
vineyard, thou shalt not
glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
When you gather the grapes of your
vineyard, you must not go over the vines again. What
remains will be for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow.
Thou shalt
beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
You will father sons and daughters, but they will not remain yours, because they will go into captivity.
