sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou
return unto the ground; for out of it
wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou
return.
By the
sweat of your
brow you will eat your bread, until you
return to the ground— because out of it were you taken. For dust you are, and to dust you shall
return.”

dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she
returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.

dove found no place to rest her foot, and she
returned to him in the ark, because the waters were still covering the surface of all the earth. So he reached out his hand and brought her back inside the ark.
And the
dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so

abated from off the earth.
And behold, the
dove returned to him in the evening with a freshly
plucked olive leaf in her
beak. So
Noah knew that the waters had

returned, and came to En-mishpat, which is Kadesh, and

Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of
Sodom went out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).

return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo,

return to you at this time next year, and your wife
Sarah will have a son!” Now
Sarah was behind him,
listening at the entrance to the tent.
Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will
return unto thee, according to the time of life, and
Sarah shall have a son.

return to you—in about a year—and
Sarah will have a son.”

return to you.”

return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.
Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.

return for another seven years of work.”
And it came to pass, when
Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto
Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.
Now after

return to my homeland.
And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
Then the LORD said to Jacob, “Go back to the land of your fathers and to your kindred, and I will be with you.”
I am the God of
Bethel, where thou anointedst the
pillar, and where thou vowedst a
vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and
return unto the land of thy kindred.
I am the God of
Bethel, where you
anointed the
pillar and made a solemn
vow to Me. Now get up and leave this land at once, and
return to your native land.’”

So
Esau returned that day on his way unto
Seir.
So that day
Esau started on his way back to
Seir,
And Jacob heard that he had
defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.
Jacob heard that
Shechem had
defiled his daughter Dinah, but since his sons were with his
livestock in the field, he remained silent about it until they
returned.
And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were
grieved, and they were very
wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob’s daughter; which thing ought not to be done.
When Jacob’s sons heard what had happened, they
returned from the field. They were filled with grief and
fury, because
Shechem had committed an
outrage in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter—a thing that should not be done.

And
Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.
“Do not shed his blood. Throw him into this pit in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him.”
Reuben said this so that he could
rescue Joseph from their hands and
return him to his father.
And
Reuben returned unto the pit; and, behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes.
When
Reuben returned to the pit and saw that Joseph was not there, he
tore his clothes,
And he
returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I,
whither shall I go?
returned to his brothers, and said, “The boy is gone! What am I going to do?”
And he
returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no
harlot in this place.
So Hirah

furthermore, the men of that place said, ‘No
shrine prostitute has been here.’”
And he turned himself about from them, and
wept; and
returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them
Simeon, and bound him before their eyes.

Simeon from them and had him bound before their eyes.
Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man’s money into his
sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.
Then Joseph gave orders to fill their bags with grain, to
return each man’s silver to his
sack, and to give them provisions for their journey. This order was carried out,
And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my
sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
“My silver has been
returned!” he said to his brothers. “It is here in my
sack.” Their hearts
sank, and
trembling, they turned to one another and said, “What is this that God has done to us?”
And
Reuben spake unto his father, saying,
Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again.
Then
Reuben said to his father, “You may kill my two sons if I fail to bring him back to you. Put him in my care, and I will
return him.”
For except we had
lingered, surely now we had
returned this second time.
If we had not delayed, we could have come and gone twice by now.”
And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand;
peradventure it was an oversight:
Take double the silver with you so that you may return the silver that was put back into the mouths of your sacks. Perhaps it was a mistake.
Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:
Take your brother as well, and return to the man at once.
And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was
returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for
bondmen, and our
asses.
But the brothers were
frightened that they had been taken to Joseph’s house. “We have been brought here because of the silver that was
returned in our bags the first time,” they said. “They intend to overpower us and take us as slaves, along with our
donkeys.”
Then they rent their clothes, and
laded every man his
ass, and
returned to the city.
Then they all
tore their clothes, loaded their
donkeys, and
returned to the city.
And he said, God
forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.
But Joseph replied, “Far be it from me to do this. The man who was found with the cup will be my slave. The rest of you may return to your father in peace.”
And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
Now when we returned to your servant my father, we relayed your words to him.
Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the
lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the
lad’s life;
So if the boy is not with us when I
return to your servant, and if my father, whose life is
wrapped up in the boy’s life,
For thy servant became
surety for the
lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the
blame to my father for ever.
Indeed, your servant
guaranteed the boy’s safety to my father, saying, ‘If I do not
return him to you, I will bear the guilt before you, my father, all my life.’
Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant
abide instead of the
lad a
bondman to my lord; and let the
lad go up with his brethren.
Now please let your servant stay here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy. Let him return with his brothers.
Haste ye, and go up to my father, and say unto him, Thus saith thy son Joseph, God hath made me lord of all Egypt: come down unto me,
tarry not:
Now return quickly to my father and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says: God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me without delay.
And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye;
lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of
Canaan;
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do as follows: Load your animals and
return to the land of
Canaan.
And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.
Then bring your father and your families and return to me. I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat from the fat of the land.’
And as for me, when I came from Padan,
Rachel died by me in the land of
Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto
Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of
Ephrath; the same is
Bethlehem.
Now as for me, when I was
returning from Paddan, to my sorrow
Rachel died along the way in the land of
Canaan, some distance from
Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to
Ephrath” (that is,
Bethlehem).
Judah is a lion’s
whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he
stooped down, he
couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall
rouse him up?
Judah is a young lion— my son, you
return from the prey. Like a lion he crouches and lies down; like a
lioness, who
dares to
rouse him?
My father made me
swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have
digged for me in the land of
Canaan, there shalt thou
bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and
bury my father, and I will come again.
my father made me
swear an oath when he said, ‘I am about to die. You must
bury me in the tomb that I
dug for myself in the land of
Canaan.’ Now let me go and
bury my father, and then
return.”
And Joseph
returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to

maid to
fetch it.

bathe in the Nile, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. And when she saw the
basket among the reeds, she sent her
maidservant to
retrieve it.
And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that ye are come so soon to day?

returned so early
today?”
And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an
ass, and he
returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to
return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will
harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
The LORD
instructed Moses, “When you go back to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders that I have put within your power. But I will
harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.
And Moses
returned unto the LORD, and said, Lord, wherefore hast thou so evil
entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me?
So Moses returned to the LORD and asked, “Lord, why have You brought trouble upon this people? Is this why You sent me?
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest
peradventure the people
repent when they see war, and they
return to Egypt:
When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them along the road through the land of the Philistines, though it was shorter. For God said, “If the people face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”
And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at
daybreak the sea
returned to its normal state. As the Egyptians were
retreating, the LORD swept them into the sea.
And the waters
returned, and covered the
chariots, and the
horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
The waters flowed back and covered the
chariots and
horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had
chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

raiment to
pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:

ass going
astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
And he said unto the elders,
Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.
And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we
return to you. Aaron and Hur are here with you.
Whoever has a dispute can go to them.”

returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have
sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of
Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

return to the camp, but his young assistant Joshua son of
Nun would not leave the tent.

Then it shall be, because he hath
sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath
deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
once he has
sinned and becomes guilty, he must
return what he has
stolen or taken by
extortion, or the deposit entrusted to him, or the lost property he found,
And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;
On the seventh day the priest is to
return and
inspect the house. If the
mildew has spread on the walls,
But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or
divorced, and have no child, and is
returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
But if a priest’s daughter with no children becomes widowed or
divorced and
returns to her father’s house, she may share her father’s food as in her youth. But no outsider may share it.
And ye shall
hallow the
fiftieth year, and
proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall
return every man unto his possession, and ye shall
return every man unto his family.
So you are to
consecrate the
fiftieth year and
proclaim liberty in the land for all its inhabitants. It shall be your
Jubilee, when each of you is to
return to his property and to his clan.
In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.
In this Year of
Jubilee, each of you shall
return to his own property.
Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the
overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may
return unto his possession.
he shall
calculate the years since its sale, repay the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and
return to his property.
But if he be not able to restore it to him, then that which is sold shall remain in the hand of him that hath bought it until the year of jubile: and in the jubile it shall go out, and he shall return unto his possession.
But if he cannot obtain enough to repay him, what he sold will remain in possession of the
buyer until the Year of
Jubilee. In the
Jubilee, however, it is to be released, so that he may
return to his property.
And if a man sell a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may
redeem it within a whole year after it is sold; within a full year may he
redeem it.
If a man sells a house in a walled city, he
retains his right of
redemption until a full year after its sale; during that year it may be redeemed.
And then shall he depart from thee, both he and his children with him, and shall return unto his own family, and unto the possession of his fathers shall he return.
Then he and his children are to be released, and he may return to his clan and to the property of his fathers.
After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may
redeem him:
he
retains the right of
redemption after he has sold himself. One of his brothers may
redeem him:
In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land did belong.
In the Year of
Jubilee the field shall
return to the one from whom it was bought—the original owner of the land.

And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
After forty days the men
returned from
spying out the land,
And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?
Why is the LORD bringing us into this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and children will become
plunder. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?”
And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.
So they said to one another, “Let us
appoint a leader and
return to Egypt.”
And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who
returned, and made all the congregation to
murmur against him, by bringing up a
slander upon the land,
So the men Moses had sent to
spy out the land, who had
returned and made the whole congregation
grumble against him by bringing out a bad report about the land—
And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.

And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Behold, I have given to the Levites all the
tithes in Israel as an inheritance in
return for the work they do, the service of the Tent of Meeting.

donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, she turned off the path and went into a field. So
Balaam beat her to
return her to the path.
And the LORD put a word in
Balaam’s mouth, and said,
Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.

Balaam’s mouth, saying, “
Return to Balak and give him this message.”
