Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying,
Set bounds about the mount, and
sanctify it.

Sinai, for You solemnly
warned us, ‘Put a boundary around the mountain and
set it apart as holy.’”

punish them for their sin.”

And thou shalt bring in the table, and

set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the
candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.
Then bring in the table and set out its arrangement; bring in the lampstand as well, and set up its lamps.

Place the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the Testimony, and
hang the

And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up.
So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month of the second year.
And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars.
When Moses set up the tabernacle, he laid its bases, positioned its frames, inserted its crossbars, and set up its posts.
And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and
set the
staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:
Moses took the Testimony and placed it in the ark,
attaching the poles to the ark; and he
set the mercy seat
atop the ark.
And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and
set up the
vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Then he brought the ark into the tabernacle, put up the
veil for the screen, and shielded off the ark of the Testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.
And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses.
He arranged the bread on it before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.
And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Then he put up the
curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle.
And he
set the
laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash
withal.
He placed the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing;
And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
And Moses
set up the
courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and he hung the
curtain for the entrance to the
courtyard. So Moses finished the work.
And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode
thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
Moses was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went
onward in all their journeys:
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out through all the stages of their journey.
But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up.
If the cloud was not lifted, they would not set out until the day it was taken up.
And he put the
mitre upon his head; also upon the
mitre, even upon his
forefront, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Moses also put the
turban on Aaron’s head and
set the gold plate, the holy
diadem, on the front of the
turban, as the LORD had commanded him.
And
whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that
sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even
set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
If
anyone from the house of Israel or a foreigner living among them eats any blood, I will
set My face against that person and cut him off from among his people.
And I will
set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto
Molech, to
defile my sanctuary, and to
profane my holy name.
And I will
set My face against that man and cut him off from his people, because by giving his offspring to
Molech, he has
defiled My sanctuary and
profaned My holy name.
Then I will
set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a
whoring after him, to commit
whoredom with
Molech, from among their people.
then I will
set My face against that man and his family and cut off from among their people both him and all who follow him in
prostituting themselves with
Molech.
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after them, I will even
set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to
prostitute himself with them, I will also
set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.
But I have said unto you, Ye shall
inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people.
But I have told you that you will
inherit their land, since I will give it to you as an inheritance—a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who has
set you apart from the peoples.
Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls
abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.
You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become
contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have
set these apart as unclean for you.
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
You are to be holy to Me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be My own.
Thou shalt
sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the LORD, which
sanctify you, am holy.
You are to regard him as holy, since he presents the food of your God. He shall be holy to you, because I the LORD am holy—I who set you apart.
And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.
When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the sacred offerings, for they are his food.
And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD.
and set them in two rows—six per row—on the table of pure gold before the LORD.
Every sabbath he shall
set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an
everlasting covenant.
Every Sabbath day the bread is to be set out before the LORD on behalf of the Israelites as a permanent covenant.
Ye shall make you no idols nor
graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye
set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
“You must not make idols for
yourselves or
set up a carved image or sacred
pillar; you must not place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down to it. For I am the LORD your God.
And I will
set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not
abhor you.
And I will make My dwelling place among you, and My soul will not
despise you.
And I will
set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that
hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall
flee when none pursueth you.
And I will
set My face against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who
hate you will rule over you, and you will
flee when no one pursues you.
But if he be poorer than thy
estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that
vowed shall the priest value him.
But if the one making the
vow is too poor to pay the
valuation, he is to present the person before the priest, who shall
set the value according to what the one making the
vow can afford.
And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it, who art the priest, so shall it be.
The priest shall set its value, whether high or low; as the priest values it, the price will be set.
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall
devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD.
Nothing that a man sets apart to the LORD from all he owns—whether a man, an animal, or his inherited land—can be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the LORD.
None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death.
No person
set apart for destruction may be
ransomed; he must surely be put to death.
And when the tabernacle
setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall
set it up: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were an hundred thousand and
fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies. These shall first
set forth.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Judah is 186,400; they shall set out first.
All that were numbered in the camp of
Reuben were an hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, throughout their armies. And they shall
set forth in the second rank.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of
Reuben is 151,450; they shall
set out second.
Then the tabernacle of the congregation shall
set forward with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camp: as they
encamp, so shall they
set forward, every man in his place by their standards.
In the middle of the camps, the Tent of Meeting is to travel with the camp of the Levites. They are to
set out in the order they
encamped, each in his own place under his standard.
All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were an hundred thousand and eight thousand and an hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank.
The total number of men in the divisions of the camp of Ephraim is 108,100; they shall set out third.
All they that were numbered in the camp of
Dan were an hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They shall go
hindmost with their standards.
The total number of men in the camp of
Dan is 157,600; they shall
set out last, under their standards.”
And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers.
So the Israelites did everything the LORD commanded Moses; they camped under their standards in this way and set out in the same way, each man with his clan and his family.
And when the camp
setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering
vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:
Whenever the camp
sets out, Aaron and his sons are to go in, take down the
veil of the
curtain, and cover the ark of the Testimony with it.
And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to
set forward; after that, the sons of
Kohath shall come to bear it: but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of
Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all their
equipment, as soon as the camp is ready to move, the Kohathites shall come and do the carrying. But they must not touch the holy objects, or they will die. These are the
transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before the LORD:
The priest is to bring the wife forward and have her stand before the LORD.
And the priest shall
set the woman before the LORD, and uncover the woman’s head, and put the offering of
memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causeth the
curse:
After the priest has the woman stand before the LORD, he is to let down her hair and place in her hands the grain offering of
memorial, which is the grain offering for jealousy. The priest is to hold the bitter water that brings a
curse.
Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh upon him, and he be
jealous over his wife, and shall
set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall
execute upon her all this law.
or when a feeling of jealousy comes over a husband and he suspects his wife. He is to have the woman stand before the LORD, and the priest is to apply to her this entire law.
And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully
set up the tabernacle, and had
anointed it, and
sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had
anointed them, and
sanctified them;
On the day Moses finished
setting up the tabernacle, he
anointed and consecrated it and all its furnishings, along with the altar and all its utensils.
Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the
candlestick.
“Speak to Aaron and tell him: ‘When you set up the seven lamps, they are to light the area in front of the lampstand.’”
And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the
candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And Aaron did so; he set up the lamps facing toward the front of the lampstand, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.
You are to have the Levites stand before Aaron and his sons and then present them before the LORD as a wave offering.
For all the
firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I
smote every
firstborn in the land of Egypt I
sanctified them for myself.
For every
firstborn male in Israel is Mine, both man and beast. I
set them apart for Myself on the day I struck down all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt.
And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning.
On the day that the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it and appeared like fire above the tabernacle from evening until morning.
And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents.
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites would set out, and wherever the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp.
