bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an
earring of gold.
All his brothers and sisters and prior acquaintances came and
dined with him in his house. They
consoled him and comforted him over all the
adversity that the LORD had brought upon him. And each one gave him a piece of
silver and a gold ring.
The words of the LORD are pure words: as
silver tried in a furnace of earth,
purified seven times.

Though ye have
lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a

dove are covered with
silver, and her feathers with
shimmering gold.”

spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the

silver and gold, and the peculiar
treasure of kings and of the provinces: I
gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts.

silver and gold and the
treasure of kings and provinces. I gathered to myself male and female singers, and the delights of the sons of men—many concubines.
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

futile.
Or ever the
silver cord be loosed, or the golden
bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the
cistern.
Remember Him before the
silver cord is
snapped and the golden
bowl is
crushed, before the pitcher is
shattered at the spring and the wheel is broken at the well,

We will make you ornaments of gold,

silver.

enclose her with panels of
cedar.

vineyard at
Baal-
hamon; he let out the
vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of
silver.

silver is become
dross, thy wine mixed with water:

silver has become
dross; your fine wine is
diluted with water.

silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their
chariots:
Their land is full of
silver and gold, with no limit to their treasures; their land is full of horses, with no limit to their
chariots.
In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
In that day men will cast away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and gold— the idols they made to worship.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.

Behold, I will
stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard
silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

stir up against them the Medes, who have no regard for
silver and no desire for gold.
Ye shall
defile also the covering of thy
graven images of
silver, and the ornament of thy
molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a
menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
So you will
desecrate your
silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like
menstrual cloths, saying to them, “Be gone!”
For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

And
Hezekiah was
glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the
silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious
ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that
Hezekiah shewed them not.
And
Hezekiah welcomed the envoys
gladly and showed them what was in his
treasure house—the
silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, as well as his entire
armory—all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his palace or in all his dominion that
Hezekiah did not show them.

idol that a
craftsman casts and a metalworker overlays with gold and fits with
silver chains?
Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast
wearied me with thine
iniquities.
You have not bought Me sweet cane with your
silver, nor satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened Me with your sins; you have
wearied Me with your
iniquities.
They pour out their bags of gold and
weigh out
silver on scales; they
hire a
goldsmith to fashion it into a god, so they can bow down and worship.
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with
silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of
affliction.
See, I have refined you, but not as
silver; I have tested you in the furnace of
affliction.
Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of
Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their
silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath
glorified thee.
Surely the islands will wait for Me, with the ships of
Tarshish in the lead, to bring your children from
afar, with their
silver and gold, to the honor of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for He has
glorified you.
For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
Instead of bronze I will bring you gold; I will bring
silver in place of iron, bronze instead of wood, and iron instead of stones. I will
appoint peace as your governor and righteousness as your ruler.

silver and with gold; they
fasten it with
nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Silver spread into plates is brought from
Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the
workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of
cunning men.
Hammered
silver is brought from
Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz— the work of a
craftsman from the hands of a
goldsmith. Their clothes are blue and purple, all fashioned by skilled workers.
And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and
weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of
silver.
So I bought the field in Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, and I
weighed out seventeen shekels of
silver.
And I
subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and
weighed him the money in the balances.
I signed and sealed the deed, called in witnesses, and
weighed out the
silver on the scales.
And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD,
Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
Yet You, O Lord GOD, have said to me, ‘
Buy for
yourself the field with
silver and call in witnesses, even though the city has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans!’”
Men shall
buy fields for money, and
subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
Fields will be purchased with silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed in the land of Benjamin, in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah—the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev—because I will restore them from captivity, declares the LORD.”
And the basons, and the firepans, and the
bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of
silver in
silver, took the captain of the guard away.
The captain of the guard also took away the basins, censers,
sprinkling bowls, pots, lampstands, pans, and drink offering
bowls—anything made of pure gold or fine
silver.
They shall cast their
silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their
silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their
bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
They will throw their
silver into the streets, and their gold will seem unclean. Their
silver and gold cannot save them in the day of the wrath of the LORD. They cannot satisfy their appetites or fill their stomachs with wealth, for it became the
stumbling block that brought their iniquity.
Thus
wast thou decked with gold and
silver; and thy
raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and
broidered work; thou
didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou
wast exceeding beautiful, and thou
didst prosper into a kingdom.
So you were adorned with gold and
silver, and your clothing was made of fine linen, silk, and
embroidered cloth. You
ate fine flour, honey, and oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be queen.
Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my
silver, which I had given thee, and madest to
thyself images of men, and
didst commit
whoredom with them,
You also took the fine
jewelry of gold and
silver I had given you, and you made male idols with which to
prostitute yourself.
Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become
dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the
dross of
silver.
“Son of man, the house of Israel has become
dross to Me. All of them are copper, tin, iron, and lead inside the furnace; they are but the
dross of
silver.
As they gather
silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to
melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my
fury, and I will leave you there, and
melt you.
Just as one gathers
silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the furnace to
melt with a
fiery blast, so I will gather you in My anger and wrath, leave you there, and
melt you.
As
silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my
fury upon you.
As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted within the city. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out My wrath upon you.’”
Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kind of riches; with
silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded in thy fairs.
Tarshish was your merchant because of your great wealth of goods; they exchanged
silver, iron, tin, and lead for your wares.
With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast
gotten thee riches, and hast
gotten gold and
silver into thy treasures:
By your wisdom and understanding you have gained your wealth and
amassed gold and
silver for your
treasuries.
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of
Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a
spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away
silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great
spoil?
Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of
Tarshish with all its villages will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the
plunder? Have you assembled your hordes to carry away
loot, to make off with
silver and gold, to take cattle and goods, to seize great
spoil?’
This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of
silver, his
belly and his thighs of brass,
The head of the statue was pure gold, its chest and arms were
silver, its
belly and thighs were bronze,
Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the
silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the
chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that
smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Then the iron, clay, bronze,
silver, and gold were
shattered and became like
chaff on the
threshing floor in summer. The wind carried them away, and not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that had struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it
brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the
silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
And just as you saw a stone being cut out of the mountain without human hands, and it
shattered the iron, bronze, clay,
silver, and gold, so the great God has told the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true, and its interpretation is
trustworthy.”
Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and
silver vessels which his father
Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
Under the influence of the wine,
Belshazzar gave orders to bring in the gold and
silver vessels that
Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, so that the king could drink from them, along with his nobles, his wives, and his concubines.
They
drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of
silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
As they
drank the wine, they praised their gods of gold and
silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone.
But hast lifted up
thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have
drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of
silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not
glorified:
Instead, you have
exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. The vessels from His house were brought to you, and as you
drank wine from them with your nobles, wives, and concubines, you praised your gods of
silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or understand. But you have failed to
glorify the God who holds in His hand your very breath and all your ways.
And shall also carry
captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of
silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.
He will take even their gods
captive to Egypt, with their metal images and their precious vessels of
silver and gold. For some years he will stay away from the king of the North,
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
And in their place, he will honor a god of fortresses—a god his fathers did not know—with gold, silver, precious stones, and riches.
But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
He will gain control of the treasures of gold and silver and over all the riches of Egypt, and the Libyans and Cushites will also submit to him.
For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her
silver and gold, which they prepared for
Baal.
For she does not acknowledge that it was I who gave her grain, new wine, and oil, who
lavished on her
silver and gold— which they crafted for
Baal.
So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a lethech of barley.
They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
They set up kings, but not by Me. They make princes, but without My
approval. With their
silver and gold they make themselves idols, to their own destruction.
For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up,
Memphis shall
bury them: the pleasant places for their
silver,
nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.
For even if they
flee destruction, Egypt will gather them and
Memphis will
bury them. Their precious
silver will be taken over by thistles, and thorns will overrun their tents.
And now they sin more and more, and have made them
molten images of their
silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the
craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice
kiss the
calves.
Now they sin more and more and make for themselves cast images, idols
skillfully made from their
silver, all of them the work of
craftsmen. People say of them, “They offer human sacrifice and
kiss the
calves!”
Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
For you took My silver and gold and carried off My finest treasures to your temples.
Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for
silver, and the poor for a pair of
shoes;
This is what the LORD says: “For three transgressions of Israel, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they sell the righteous for
silver and the
needy for a pair of
sandals.
That we may
buy the poor for
silver, and the
needy for a pair of
shoes;
yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
Let us
buy the poor with
silver and the
needy for a pair of
sandals, selling even the
chaff with the wheat!”
Take ye the
spoil of
silver, take the
spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
“
Plunder the
silver!
Plunder the gold!” There is no end to the
treasure, an abundance of every precious thing.
Woe unto him that saith to the wood,
Awake; to the
dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and
silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
Woe to him who says to wood, ‘
Awake!’ or to silent stone, ‘Arise!’ Can it give guidance? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and
silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.”
Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear
silver are cut off.
Wail, O dwellers of the Hollow, for all your merchants will be silenced; all who
weigh out
silver will be cut off.
Neither their
silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be
devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a
speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the Day of the LORD’s wrath. The whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy.” For indeed, He will make a sudden end of all who dwell on the earth.
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, declares the LORD of Hosts.
Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
Take
silver and gold, make an
ornate crown, and set it on the head of the high priest, Joshua son of Jehozadak.
And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and
heaped up
silver as the dust, and fine gold as the
mire of the streets.
Tyre has built herself a fortress; she has
heaped up
silver like dust, and gold like the
dirt of the streets.
And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not,
forbear. So they
weighed for my price thirty pieces of
silver.
Then I told them, “If it seems right to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” So they
weighed out my wages, thirty pieces of
silver.
And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the
potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of
silver, and cast them to the
potter in the house of the LORD.
And the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the
potter”—this magnificent price at which they valued me. So I took the thirty pieces of
silver and threw them to the
potter in the house of the LORD.
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”
And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and
silver, and
apparel, in great abundance.
Judah will also fight at Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected—gold,
silver, and
apparel in great abundance.
And he shall sit as a refiner and
purifier of
silver: and he shall
purify the sons of Levi, and
purge them as gold and
silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.
And He will sit as a refiner and
purifier of
silver; He will
purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and
silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.
Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,
Do not carry any gold or silver or copper in your belts.
And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
Then
Judas, which had
betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned,
repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of
silver to the chief priests and elders,
When
Judas, who had
betrayed Him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was filled with
remorse and returned the thirty pieces of
silver to the chief priests and elders.
And he cast down the pieces of
silver in the temple, and departed, and went and
hanged himself.
So
Judas threw the
silver into the temple and left. Then he went away and
hanged himself.
And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
The chief priests
picked up the pieces of
silver and said, “It is unlawful to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
Then what was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: “They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price set on Him by the people of Israel,
Either what woman having ten pieces of
silver, if she lose one piece,
doth not light a
candle, and
sweep the house, and seek
diligently till she find it?
Or what woman who has ten
silver coins and loses one of them does not light a lamp,
sweep her house, and search carefully until she finds it?
Then Peter said,
Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth rise up and walk.
But Peter said, “
Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, get up and walk!”
And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the
sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor the father of Sychem.
Their bones were carried back to
Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought from the sons of Hamor at
Shechem for a price he paid in
silver.
