didst thou not
smite him there to the ground? and I would have given thee ten shekels of
silver, and a
girdle.
“You just saw him!”
Joab exclaimed. “Why did you not strike him to the ground right there? I would have given you ten shekels of
silver and a
warrior’s belt!”
And the man said unto
Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of
silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king’s son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and
Abishai and Ittai, saying,
Beware that none touch the young man
Absalom.
The man replied, “Even if a thousand shekels of
silver were
weighed out into my hands, I would not raise my hand against the son of the king. For we heard the king command you and
Abishai and Ittai, ‘Protect the young man
Absalom for my sake.’

anyone in Israel for us.” “Whatever you ask, I will do for you,” he replied.
And the king said unto Araunah,
Nay; but I will surely
buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which

silver.
“No,” replied the king, “I
insist on paying a price, for I will not offer to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” So David bought the
threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of

Aram, who was ruling in Damascus:
There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of
silver and gold; come and break thy league with
Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.

hadad, saying, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy
silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;
The messengers came back and said, “This is what Ben-

silver, your gold, your wives, and your children.

silver.
As the king passed by, he
cried out to the king: “Your servant had marched out into the middle of the battle, when suddenly a man came over with a

weigh out a talent of

vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better

So
Ahab said to
Naboth, “Give me your
vineyard to use as a vegetable garden, since it is next to my palace. I will give you a better
vineyard in its place—or if you
prefer, I will give you its value in
silver.”
And he said unto her, Because I spake unto
Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy
vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another
vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my
vineyard.
Ahab answered, “Because I spoke to
Naboth the Jezreelite and told him, ‘Give me your
vineyard for
silver, or if you wish, I will give you another
vineyard in its place.’ And he replied, ‘I will not give you my
vineyard!’”
And it came to pass, when

Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that
Jezebel said to

And
Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of
silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.
But
Naaman insisted, “Please, take two talents.” And he urged Gehazi to accept them. Then he

hid it.
When the lepers reached the edge of the camp, they went into a tent to eat and drink. Then they carried off the

hid them. On returning, they entered another tent, carried off some items from there, and
hid them.
Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD
bowls of
silver,
snuffers, basons,
trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of
silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD:
However, the money brought into the house of the LORD was not used for making
silver basins,
wick trimmers,
sprinkling bowls,
trumpets, or any articles of gold or
silver for the house of the LORD.
And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
He took all the gold and
silver and all the articles found in the house of the LORD and in the

Pul a thousand talents of
silver, that his hand might be with him to
confirm the kingdom in his hand.

Pul king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave
Pul a thousand talents of
silver in order to gain his support and
strengthen his own
grip on the kingdom.
And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

silver and thirty talents of gold.
So
Hezekiah king of Judah sent word to the king of Assyria at

Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of
silver and thirty talents of gold.

Hezekiah gave him all the
silver that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king’s house.
Hezekiah gave him all the
silver that was found in the house of the LORD and in the
treasuries of the royal palace.
And
Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the
silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious
ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that
Hezekiah shewed them not.
And
Hezekiah received the envoys and showed them all that was in his
treasure house—the
silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, as well as his
armory—all that was found in his storehouses. There was nothing in his palace or in all his dominion that

Hamath so that he could not reign in Jerusalem, and he imposed on Judah a
levy of a hundred talents of
silver and a talent of gold.
And
Jehoiakim gave the
silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the
silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.
So
Jehoiakim paid the
silver and gold to Pharaoh Neco, but to meet Pharaoh’s demand he taxed the land and exacted the

smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and
silver and brass.

silver and gold he had carried off from all these nations—from
Edom and Moab, and from the
Ammonites, Philistines, and
Amalekites.
And when the children of
Ammon saw that they had made themselves
odious to David, Hanun and the children of
Ammon sent a thousand talents of
silver to
hire them
chariots and
horsemen out of
Mesopotamia, and out of Syria-maachah, and out of Zobah.
Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of
silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add
thereto.
Now behold, I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the LORD—100,000 talents of gold, 1,000,000 talents of
silver, and bronze and iron too great to be
weighed. I have also provided timber and stone, and you may add to them.
Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.

candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of
silver by weight, both for the
candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every
candlestick.
the weight of the gold lampstands and their lamps, including the weight of each lampstand and its lamps; the weight of each silver lampstand and its lamps, according to the use of each lampstand;

shewbread, for every table; and likewise
silver for the tables of

bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every
bason; and likewise
silver by weight for every
bason of
silver:
the weight of the pure gold for the forks,
sprinkling bowls, and pitchers; the weight of each gold
dish; the weight of each

silver for the
silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the wood, as well as
onyx for the settings,
turquoise, stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and slabs of marble—all in abundance.

Moreover, because of my delight in the house of my God, I now give for it my personal treasures of gold and silver, over and above all that I have provided for this holy temple:
Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of
Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined
silver, to overlay the walls of the houses
withal:
three thousand talents of gold (the gold of
Ophir) and seven thousand talents of refined
silver, to overlay the walls of the buildings,
The gold for things of gold, and the
silver for things of
silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. And who then is willing to
consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?
And gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand drams, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and one hundred thousand talents of iron.

fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a

silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. Likewise, they exported them to all the kings of the

cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.

execute any design that is given him. He will work with your
craftsmen and with those of my lord, your father David.

All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
In all, there were 5,400 gold and silver articles. Sheshbazzar brought all these along when the exiles went up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
They gave after their ability unto the
treasure of the work
threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of
silver, and one hundred priests garments.
According to their ability, they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics of gold, 5,000
minas of
silver, and 100 priestly garments.
And the vessels also of gold and
silver of the house of God, which
Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;
He also removed from the temple of Babylon the gold and
silver articles belonging to the house of God, which
Nebuchadnezzar had taken and carried there from the temple in Jerusalem. King Cyrus gave these articles to a man named Sheshbazzar, whom he appointed governor
And also let the golden and
silver vessels of the house of God, which
Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.
Furthermore, the gold and
silver articles of the house of God, which
Nebuchadnezzar took from the temple in Jerusalem and carried to Babylon, must also be returned to the temple in Jerusalem and deposited in the house of God.
And to carry the
silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose
habitation is in Jerusalem,
Moreover, you are to take with you the silver and gold that the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem,
And all the
silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the
freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:
together with all the
silver and gold you may find in all the province of Babylon, as well as the
freewill offerings of the people and priests to the house of their God in Jerusalem.
And
whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the
silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.
You and your brothers may do whatever seems best with the rest of the silver and gold, according to the will of your God.
Unto an hundred talents of
silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without
prescribing how much.
up to a hundred talents of silver, a hundred cors of wheat, a hundred baths of wine, a hundred baths of olive oil, and salt without limit.
And
weighed unto them the
silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel there present, had offered:
and I
weighed out to them the contribution of
silver and gold and the articles that the king, his counselors, his leaders, and all the Israelites there had offered for the house of our God.
I even
weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of
silver, and
silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
I
weighed out into their hands 650 talents of
silver, articles of
silver weighing 100 talents, 100 talents of gold,
And I said unto them, Ye are holy unto the LORD; the vessels are holy also; and the
silver and the gold are a
freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.
Then I told them, “You are holy to the LORD, and these articles are holy. The
silver and gold are a
freewill offering to the LORD, the God of your fathers.
So took the priests and the Levites the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.
So the priests and Levites took charge of the
silver and gold and sacred articles that had been
weighed out to be taken to the house of our God in Jerusalem.
Now on the fourth day was the
silver and the gold and the vessels
weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was
Eleazar the son of
Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;
On the fourth day, in the house of our God, we
weighed out the
silver and gold and sacred articles into the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest.
Eleazar son of
Phinehas was with him, along with the Levites Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui.
But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of
silver;
yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God.
The governors before me had
heavily burdened the people, taking from them bread and wine
plus forty shekels of
silver. Their servants also
oppressed the people, but I did not do this because of my fear of God.
And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the
treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of
silver.
And some of the heads of the families gave to the treasury for the project 20,000 darics of gold and 2,200
minas of
silver.
And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pounds of
silver, and
threescore and seven priests’ garments.
The rest of the people gave a total of 20,000 darics of gold, 2,000
minas of
silver, and 67 priestly garments.
Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to
silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and
silver, upon a
pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble.
Hangings of white and blue linen were fastened with cords of fine white and purple material to
silver rings on the marble pillars. Gold and
silver couches were arranged on a mosaic
pavement of
porphyry, marble, mother-of-
pearl, and other costly stones.
If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of
silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king’s
treasuries.
If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to destroy them, and I will deposit ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury to pay those who carry it out.”
And the king said unto
Haman, The
silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee.
“Keep your money,” said the king to
Haman. “These people are given to you to do with them as you please.”
Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:
or with princes who had gold, who filled their houses with silver.
then the
Almighty will be your gold and the finest
silver for you.
Though he
heap up
silver as the dust, and prepare
raiment as the clay;
Though he heaps up
silver like dust and piles up a
wardrobe like clay,
