miserable.
Many nations shall come from far to the name of the Lord God with gifts in their hands, even gifts to the King of heaven; all generations shall praise thee with great joy.

hate thee, and blessed shall all be which love
thee for ever.

thee, for they shall
rejoice in thy peace: blessed are they which have been sorrowful for all thy scourges; for they shall
rejoice for
thee, when they have seen all thy glory, and shall be
glad for ever.
But keep thou the law and the commandments, and
shew thyself merciful and just, that it may go well with
thee.

thee men that trust in their own strength, of
footmen an hundred and twenty thousand; and the number of horses with their riders twelve thousand.

beforehand for me all their coasts: and if they will yield themselves unto
thee, thou shalt reserve them for me till the day of their punishment.
And take thou
heed that thou
transgress none of the commandments of thy lord, but

thee, and
defer not to do them.

Ammon, Let my lord now hear a word from the mouth of thy servant, and I will declare unto
thee the truth concerning this people, which dwelleth near
thee, and inhabiteth the hill countries: and there shall no lie come out of the mouth of thy servant.
Now therefore my servants shall bring thee back into the hill country, and shall set thee in one of the cities of the passages:
O Lord God of heaven, behold their pride, and
pity the low estate of our nation, and look upon the face of those that are
sanctified unto
thee this day.

captives, and all their spoils to be divided among thy
dear children; which were moved with thy zeal, and
abhorred the

I pray
thee, I pray
thee, O God of my father, and God of the inheritance of Israel, Lord of the heavens and earth,

thee favour, and
accomplish thine enterprizes to the glory of the children of Israel, and to the
exaltation of Jerusalem. Then they worshipped God.

shew unto him according to thy word; and he will
entreat thee well.

entreat thee well, as they do the servants of king Nabuchodonosor my lord.
And if thou
wilt follow the words of thine
handmaid, God will bring the thing perfectly to pass by
thee; and my lord shall not fail of his purposes.
As Nabuchodonosor king of all the earth liveth, and as his power liveth, who hath sent thee for the upholding of every living thing: for not only men shall serve him by thee, but also the beasts of the field, and the cattle, and the fowls of the air, shall live by thy power under Nabuchodonosor and all his house.
Now as concerning the matter, which Achior did speak in thy council, we have heard his words; for the men of Bethulia saved him, and he declared unto them all that he had spoken unto thee.
Now when they shall bring them word, they will
forthwith do it, and they shall be given to
thee to be destroyed the same day.

handmaid, knowing all this, am fled from their presence; and God hath sent me to work things with
thee,
whereat all the earth shall be
astonished, and
whosoever shall hear it.

shew it unto
thee: then thou shalt go forth with all thine army, and there shall be none of them that shall resist
thee.

thee through the midst of

foreknowledge, and they were declared unto me, and I am sent to tell
thee.

thee for a perpetual praise, to visit
thee in good things because thou hast not

Saying, O Lord, Lord, the King
Almighty: for the whole world is in thy power, and if thou hast appointed to save Israel, there is no man that can

But I did this, that I might not
prefer the glory of man above the glory of God: neither will I worship any but
thee, O God, neither will I do it in pride.

merciful unto thine inheritance: turn our sorrow into joy, that we may live, O Lord, and praise thy name: and destroy not the mouths of them that praise
thee, O Lord.
And she prayed unto the Lord God of Israel, saying, O my Lord, thou only art our King: help me,
desolate woman, which have no helper but
thee:
And now we have
sinned before
thee: therefore hast thou given us into the hands of our enemies,
That they will
abolish the thing that thou with thy mouth hast ordained, and destroy thine inheritance, and stop the mouth of them that praise
thee, and
quench the glory of thy house, and of thine altar,
But deliver us with thine hand, and help me that am
desolate, and which have no other help but
thee.

O send her out of thy holy heavens, and from the throne of thy glory, that being present she may labour with me, that I may know what is pleasing unto thee.
For so the ways of them which lived on the earth were reformed, and men were taught the things that are pleasing unto thee, and were saved through wisdom.
When they were
thirsty, they called upon
thee, and water was given them out of the
flinty rock, and their
thirst was
quenched out of the hard stone.
For the whole world before
thee is as a little grain of the balance,
yea, as a drop of the morning
dew that falleth down upon the earth.
And how could any thing have
endured, if it had not been thy will? or been preserved, if not called by
thee?
Therefore chastenest thou them by little and little that
offend, and warnest them by putting them in
remembrance wherein they have
offended, that leaving their wickedness they may believe on
thee, O Lord.
For who shall say, What hast thou done? or who shall
withstand thy judgment? or who shall
accuse thee for the nations that perish, whom thou made? or who shall come to stand against
thee, to be
revenged for the unrighteous men?
Neither shall king or
tyrant be able to set his face against
thee for any whom thou hast punished.
For thy power is the beginning of righteousness, and because thou art the Lord of all, it maketh
thee to be
gracious unto all.

thee up.

thee, think

grieve thee to bow down thine ear to the poor, and give him a friendly answer with
meekness.

thee.

harm hath happened unto me? for the Lord is
longsuffering, he will in no wise let
thee go.

gotten, for they shall not profit
thee in the day of
calamity.

fetters be a strong defence for
thee, and her chains a
robe of glory.
Thou shalt put her on as a
robe of honour, and shalt put her about
thee as a crown of joy.
Be willing to hear every godly discourse; and let not the parables of understanding escape thee.
