deceit.

malign your brother; you
slander your own mother’s son.

thou done, and I kept silence;
thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as
thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

thought I was just like you. But now I
rebuke you and
accuse you to your face.

sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that

thou judgest.

blameless when You judge.

contrite heart, O God, You will not
despise.

despised them.

deceit will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.

swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O
thou most High.

All day long they twist my words; all their
thoughts are on my
demise.

thou my tears into thy
bottle: are they not in thy book?

wilt not
thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

awake to visit all the heathen: be not
merciful to any wicked transgressors.

rouse Yourself to
punish all the nations; show no mercy to the wicked traitors.

thou, O LORD, shalt
laugh at them;
thou shalt have all the heathen in
derision.
But You, O LORD,
laugh at them; You
scoff at all the nations.

yea, I will sing

O God,
thou hast cast us off,
thou hast scattered us,
thou hast been displeased; O turn

tremble;
thou hast broken it:

washpot; over
Edom will I cast out my

thou because of me.

thou, O God, which
didst not go out with our armies?

weary land without water.

holiness of Your temple.
By terrible things in righteousness
wilt thou answer us, O God of our salvation; who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are
afar off upon the sea:
With
awesome deeds of righteousness You answer us, O God of our salvation, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the
farthest seas.

tokens:

rejoice.

dawn and
sunset shout for joy.

You attend to the earth and water it; with abundance You
enrich it. The streams of God are full of water, for You prepare our grain by providing for the earth.
Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

soak its furrows and level its ridges; You
soften it with showers and
bless its growth.

You crown the year with Your
bounty, and Your paths overflow with
plenty.

For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us like silver.
Thou broughtest us into the net;
thou laidst
affliction upon our loins.
You led us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs.
Thou hast caused men to
ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but
thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
You let men
ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but You brought us into abundance.
O let the nations be
glad and sing for joy: for

Selah O God, when
thou wentest forth before thy people, when
thou didst march through the wilderness;
Selah:
O God, when You went out before Your people, when You marched through the wasteland,

weary inheritance.

chariots of God are twenty
thousand, even

Sinai.

thou hast led captivity
captive:
thou hast received gifts for men;

rebellious, that the LORD God may dwell there.

spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the

They that
hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies
wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.

hate me without cause outnumber the hairs of my head; many are those who would destroy me— my enemies for no reason.
Though I did not
steal, I must repay.

thou knowest my
foolishness; and my sins are not
hid from thee.

adversaries are before You.

persecute him whom
thou hast
smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom

persecute the one You struck and recount the pain of those You wounded.
But I am poor and
needy: make
haste unto me, O God:
thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no
tarrying.

needy;
hurry to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.
Be
thou my strong
habitation,
whereunto I may continually resort:
thou hast given commandment to save me; for
thou art my rock and my fortress.
Be my rock of refuge, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.
For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

By thee have I been
holden up from the
womb:
thou art he that took me out of my mother’s
bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.

womb. My praise is always for You.
I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
I have become a
portent to many, but You are my strong refuge.

shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.

O God,
thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy
wondrous works.
O God, You have taught me from my youth, and to this day I
proclaim Your
marvelous deeds.
Thou, which hast shewed me great and
sore troubles, shalt
quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up.
Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
I will also praise thee with the
psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the
harp, O
thou Holy One of Israel.
So I will praise You with the
harp for Your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to You with the
lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
My lips shall greatly
rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which
thou hast redeemed.
When I sing praise to You my lips will
shout for joy, along with my soul, which You have redeemed.
When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;
When I tried to understand all this, it was
troublesome in my sight
Surely
thou didst set them in
slippery places:
thou castedst them down into destruction.
Surely You set them on
slick ground; You cast them down into ruin.
As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when
thou awakest,
thou shalt
despise their image.
Nevertheless I am continually with thee:
thou hast
holden me by my right hand.
Yet I am always with You; You hold my right hand.
Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
You guide me with Your counsel, and later receive me in glory.
For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish:
thou hast destroyed all them that go a
whoring from thee.
Those far from You will surely perish; You destroy all who are unfaithful to You.
O God, why hast
thou cast us off for ever? why
doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Why have You rejected us
forever, O God? Why does Your anger
smolder against the sheep of Your pasture?
Remember thy congregation, which
thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which
thou hast redeemed; this mount
Zion, wherein
thou hast dwelt.
Remember Your congregation, which You purchased long ago and redeemed as the tribe of Your inheritance— Mount
Zion where You dwell.
Why withdrawest
thou thy hand, even thy right hand?
pluck it out of thy
bosom.
Why do You withdraw Your strong right hand? Stretch it out to destroy them!
Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength:
thou brakest the heads of the
dragons in the waters.
You divided the sea by Your strength; You
smashed the heads of the
dragons of the sea;
Thou brakest the heads of
leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood:
thou driedst up mighty rivers.
You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up the ever-flowing rivers.

Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
Thou, even
thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once
thou art
angry?

angry, who can stand before You?
Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,

clothe Yourself.
