So shall ye say unto Joseph,
Forgive, I pray thee now, the
trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee,
forgive the
trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph
wept when they spake unto him.
‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I
beg you, please
forgive the
transgression and sin of your brothers, for they did you wrong.’ So now, Joseph, please
forgive the
transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph
wept.
Beware of him, and obey his voice,
provoke him not; for he will not
pardon your
transgressions: for my name is in him.

listen to his voice; do not
defy him, for he will not
forgive rebellion, since My Name is in him.

transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

transgression, and sin. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the fathers on their children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.”

atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their
transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

confess over him all the
iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their
transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

confess over it all the
iniquities and

jealous God; He will not
forgive your rebellion or your sins.
Moreover, my father, see,
yea, see the
skirt of thy
robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the
skirt of thy
robe and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor
transgression in mine hand, and I have not
sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
See, my father, look at the corner of your
robe in my hand. For I cut it off, but I did not kill you. See and know that there is no evil or rebellion in my hands. I have not
sinned against you, even though you are hunting me down to take my life.
May You
forgive Your people who have
sinned against You and all the
transgressions they have committed against You, and may You grant them

genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their

Ahaz in his reign did cast away in his

trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the

dost thou not
pardon my
transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

If you sin, what do you
accomplish against Him? If you multiply your
transgressions, what do you do to Him?
Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
Declare them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own devices. Drive them out for their many transgressions, for they have rebelled against You.
Keep back thy servant also from
presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great
transgression.

blameless and
cleansed of great
transgression.

rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD.

transgression is
forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is he whose
transgressions are
forgiven, whose sins are covered.

hid. I said, I will
confess my
transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.

confess my
transgressions to the LORD,” and You
forgave the guilt of my sin.

foolish.

mercies blot out my
transgressions.

compassion,
blot out my
transgressions.

conspire against me for no
transgression or sin of my own, O LORD.
Iniquities prevail against me: as for our
transgressions, thou shalt
purge them away.
Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

dissension, but love covers all
transgressions.

snared by the
transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
An evil man is
trapped by his
rebellious speech, but a righteous man escapes from trouble.

Whoever conceals an
offense promotes love, but he who brings it up separates friends.
He loveth
transgression that loveth
strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh destruction.
He who loves
transgression loves
strife; he who builds his gate high invites destruction.
The
discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a
transgression.
A man’s insight gives him
patience, and his virtue is to overlook an
offense.
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
A land in rebellion has many rulers, but a man of understanding and knowledge maintains order.
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no
transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
He who robs his father or mother, saying, “It is not wrong,” is a companion to the man who destroys.
In the
transgression of an evil man there is a
snare: but the righteous
doth sing and
rejoice.
An evil man is caught by his own sin, but a righteous one sings and rejoices.

When the wicked
thrive, rebellion increases; but the righteous will see their
downfall.

transgression.
The earth shall
reel to and
fro like a
drunkard, and shall be removed like a
cottage; and the
transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
The earth
staggers like a
drunkard and sways like a
shack. Earth’s rebellion weighs it down, and it falls, never to rise again.
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.
I,
yes I, am He who blots out your
transgressions for My own sake and remembers your sins no more.
I have
blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy
transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
I have
blotted out your
transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a
mist. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you.
Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s
divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your
iniquities have ye sold
yourselves, and for your
transgressions is your mother put away.
This is what the LORD says: “Where is your mother’s
certificate of
divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of My creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold for your
iniquities, and for your
transgressions your mother was sent away.
But He was pierced for our
transgressions, He was
crushed for our
iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are
healed.
He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the
transgression of my people was he
stricken.
By oppression and judgment He was taken away, and who can recount His descendants? For He was cut off from the land of the living; He was
stricken for the
transgression of My people.
Against whom do ye
sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of
transgression, a seed of
falsehood,
Whom are you
mocking? At whom do you
snarl and stick out your tongue? Are you not children of
transgression, offspring of
deceit,
Cry
aloud,
spare not, lift up thy voice like a
trumpet, and
shew my people their
transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
“Cry
aloud, do not hold back! Raise your voice like a ram’s horn. Declare to My people their
transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins.
For our
transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins
testify against us: for our
transgressions are with us; and as for our
iniquities, we know them;
For our
transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins
testify against us. Our
transgressions are indeed with us, and we know our
iniquities:
And the
Redeemer shall come to
Zion, and unto them that turn from
transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
“The
Redeemer will come to
Zion, to those in Jacob who turn from
transgression,” declares the LORD.
Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall
slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall
spoil them, a
leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be
torn in pieces: because their
transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.
Therefore a lion from the forest will strike them down, a wolf from the desert will
ravage them. A
leopard will lie in wait near their cities, and
everyone who ventures out will be
torn to pieces. For their
rebellious acts are many, and their unfaithful deeds are numerous.
Her
adversaries are the chief, her enemies
prosper; for the LORD hath
afflicted her for the multitude of her
transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
Her foes have become her masters; her enemies are at ease. For the LORD has brought her grief because of her many
transgressions. Her children have gone away as
captives before the enemy.
The yoke of my
transgressions is bound by his hand: they are
wreathed, and come up upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall, the Lord hath delivered me into their hands, from whom I am not able to rise up.
My
transgressions are bound into a yoke,
knit together by His hand; they are
draped over my neck, and the Lord has broken my strength. He has delivered me into the hands of those I cannot
withstand.
Let all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my
transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is
faint.
Let all their wickedness come before You, and deal with them as You have dealt with me because of all my
transgressions. For my groans are many, and my heart is
faint.
That the house of Israel may go no more
astray from me, neither be
polluted any more with all their
transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD.
in order that the house of Israel may no longer
stray from Me and no longer
defile themselves with all their
transgressions. Then they will be My people and I will be their God, declares the Lord GOD.’”
All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
None of the transgressions he has committed will be held against him. Because of the righteousness he has practiced, he will live.
Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Because he considered and turned from all the transgressions he had committed, he will surely live; he will not die.
Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD.
Repent, and turn
yourselves from all your
transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD.
Repent and turn from all your
transgressions, so that your iniquity will not become your
downfall.
Cast away from you all your
transgressions, whereby ye have
transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Cast away from
yourselves all the
transgressions you have committed, and fashion for
yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. Why should you die, O house of Israel?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your
transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to
remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because you have drawn attention to your guilt,
exposing your
transgressions, so that your sins are revealed in all your deeds—because you have come to
remembrance—you shall be taken in hand.
Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
Now as for you, son of man, tell the house of Israel that this is what they have said: ‘Our transgressions and our sins are heavy upon us, and we are wasting away because of them! How can we live?’
Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
Therefore, son of man, say to your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not deliver him in the day of his
transgression; neither will the wickedness of the wicked man cause him to
stumble on the day he turns from his wickedness. Nor will the righteous man be able to
survive by his righteousness on the day he sins.’
Neither shall they
defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their
transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have
sinned, and will
cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
They will no longer
defile themselves with their idols or
detestable images, or with any of their
transgressions. I will save them from all their
apostasies by which they
sinned, and I will
cleanse them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.
According to their uncleanness and according to their
transgressions have I done unto them, and
hid my face from them.
I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and
transgressions, and I
hid My face from them.
And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of
transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and
prospered.
And in the rebellion, the host and the daily sacrifice were given over to the horn, and it
flung truth to the ground and
prospered in whatever it did.
Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the
transgression of
desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be
trodden under foot?
Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, “How long until the
fulfillment of the vision of the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes
desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host to be
trampled?”
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the
transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make
reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in
everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to
anoint the most Holy.
Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and your holy city to stop their
transgression, to put an end to sin, to make
atonement for iniquity, to bring in
everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to
anoint the Most Holy Place.
It is in my desire that I should
chastise them; and the people shall be gathered against them, when they shall bind themselves in their two furrows.
I will
chasten them when I please; nations will be gathered against them to put them in
bondage for their double
transgression.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
threshed Gilead with
threshing instruments of iron:
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of Damascus, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
threshed Gilead with sledges of iron.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of
Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away
captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to
Edom:
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of
Gaza, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they exiled a whole population, delivering them up to
Edom.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to
Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of Tyre, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they delivered up a whole congregation of exiles to
Edom and broke a covenant of
brotherhood.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of
Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all
pity, and his anger did
tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of
Edom, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and
stifled all
compassion; his anger
raged continually, and his
fury flamed
incessantly.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of the children of
Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
ripped up the women with child of
Gilead, that they might
enlarge their border:
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of
Edom into lime:
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of Moab, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because he burned to lime the bones of
Edom’s king.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have
despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to
err, after the which their fathers have walked:
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of Judah, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they
reject the Law of the LORD and fail to keep His statutes; they are led
astray by the lies in which their fathers walked.
Thus saith the LORD; For three
transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of
shoes;
This is what the LORD says: “For three
transgressions of Israel, even four, I will not
revoke My judgment, because they sell the righteous for silver and the
needy for a pair of
sandals.
That in the day that I shall visit the
transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of
Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
On the day I
punish Israel for their
transgressions, I will visit destruction on the altars of
Bethel; the horns of the altar will be cut off, and they will fall to the ground.
Come to
Bethel, and
transgress; at
Gilgal multiply
transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your
tithes after three years:
For I know your
manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they
afflict the just, they take a
bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
For I know that your
transgressions are many and your sins are numerous. You
oppress the righteous by taking bribes; you deprive the poor of justice in the gate.
For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
All this is for the transgression of Jacob and the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what is the high place of Judah? Is it not Jerusalem?
O thou inhabitant of
Lachish, bind the
chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of
Zion: for the
transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
Harness your
chariot horses, O dweller of
Lachish. You were the beginning of sin to the Daughter of
Zion, for the
transgressions of Israel were found in you.
But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
As for me, however, I am filled with power by the Spirit of the LORD, with justice and courage, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my
firstborn for my
transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Would the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I present my
firstborn for my
transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the
transgression of the
remnant of his
heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes over the
transgression of the
remnant of His inheritance— who does not retain His anger
forever, because He delights in loving devotion?
That he may take part of this ministry and
apostleship, from which
Judas by
transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
to take up this ministry and
apostleship, which
Judas abandoned to go to his rightful place.”
Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the
similitude of Adam’s
transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the way that Adam
transgressed. He is a pattern of the One to come.
Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of
transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a
mediator.
Why then was the law given? It was added because of
transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a
mediator.
And Adam was not
deceived, but the woman being
deceived was in the
transgression.
And it was not Adam who was
deceived, but the woman who was
deceived and fell into
transgression.
For if the word spoken by angels was
stedfast, and every
transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every transgression and disobedience received its just punishment,
And for this cause he is the
mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the
redemption of the
transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Therefore Christ is the
mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died to
redeem them from the
transgressions committed under the first covenant.
But was
rebuked for his iniquity: the
dumb ass speaking with man’s voice
forbad the madness of the prophet.
But he was
rebuked for his
transgression by a
donkey, otherwise without speech, that spoke with a man’s voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.
