mourned and
wept with a loud voice, and was much
grieved in heart, and her clothes were rent, and she had ashes
upon her head.

rejoicing is at an end, the light of our
candlestick is put out, the ark of our covenant is
spoiled, our holy things are
defiled, and the name that is called

defiled, and our wives
ravished; our righteous men carried away, our little ones destroyed, our young men are brought in
bondage, and our strong men are become weak;

beheld, and, lo, the eagle
flew with her feathers, and reigned
upon earth, and over them that dwelt therein.

And I
beheld, and, lo, the eagle rose
upon her talons, and spake to her feathers, saying,
Then I
beheld, and, lo, in process of time the feathers that followed stood up
upon the right side, that they might rule also; and some of them ruled, but within a while they appeared no more:
And there was no more upon the eagle’s body, but three heads that rested, and six little wings.
Then saw I also that two little feathers divided themselves from the six, and remained under the head that was upon the right side: for the four continued in their place.
But this head put the whole earth in fear, and bare rule in it over all those that dwelt
upon the earth with much oppression; and it had the
governance of the world more than all the wings that had been.

beheld, and, lo, the head
upon the right side
devoured it that was
upon the left side.

bewail her.

Cilicia, and Damascus, and Libanus, and Antilibanus, and to all that dwelt
upon the sea coast,
Therefore Nabuchodonosor was very
angry with all this country, and
sware by his throne and kingdom, that he would surely be
avenged upon all those coasts of
Cilicia, and Damascus, and Syria, and that he would
slay with the sword all the inhabitants of the land of Moab, and the children of
Ammon, and all
Judea, and all that were in Egypt, till ye come to the borders of the two seas.
Then he went over Euphrates, and went through
Mesopotamia, and destroyed all the high cities that were
upon the river Arbonai, till ye come to the sea.
Therefore the fear and
dread of him fell
upon all the inhabitants of the sea coasts, which were in
Sidon and Tyrus, and them that dwelt in Sur and Ocina, and all that dwelt in Jemnaan; and they that dwelt in
Azotus and

upon her face, and put ashes

Judith cried with a loud voice, and said,

dyed their bed in blood, being
deceived, and smotest the servants with their lords, and the lords
upon their thrones;
And hast given their wives for a prey, and their daughters to be
captives, and all their spoils to be divided among thy
dear children; which were moved with thy zeal, and
abhorred the
pollution of their blood, and called
upon thee for aid: O God, O my God, hear me also a widow.
For thou hast wrought not only those things, but also the things which fell out before, and which
