Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou
dost not speak to
warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood
will I require at thine hand.
If I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you
will surely die,’ but you do not speak out to
dissuade him from his way, then that wicked man
will die in his iniquity, yet I
will hold you accountable for his blood.
Nevertheless, if thou
warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
But if you
warn the wicked man to turn from his way, and he does not turn from it, he
will die in his iniquity, but you
will have saved your life.
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Say to them: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’
Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his
transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
Therefore, son of man, say to your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man
will not deliver him in the day of his
transgression; neither
will the wickedness of the wicked man cause him to
stumble on the day he turns from his wickedness. Nor
will the righteous man be able to
survive by his righteousness on the day he sins.’
When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
If I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but he then trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, then none of his righteous works will be remembered; he will die because of the iniquity he has committed.
Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
But if I tell the wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and he turns from his sin and does what is just and right—
If the wicked restore the
pledge, give again that he had
robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without
committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
if he restores a
pledge, makes
restitution for what he has
stolen, and walks in the statutes of life without practicing iniquity—then he
will surely live; he
will not die.
None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
None of the sins he has committed will be held against him. He has done what is just and right; he will surely live.
When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he will die for it.
But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
But if a wicked man turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live because of this.
Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.
Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But I will judge each of you according to his ways, O house of Israel.”
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field
will I give to the beasts to be
devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the
pestilence.
Tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘As surely as I live, those in the ruins
will fall by the sword, those in the open field I
will give to be
devoured by wild animals, and those in the strongholds and caves
will die by plague.
For I
will lay the land most
desolate, and the
pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be
desolate, that none shall pass through.
I
will make the land a
desolate waste, and the pride of her strength
will come to an end. The mountains of Israel
will become
desolate, so that no one
will pass through.
Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most
desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.
Then they
will know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a
desolate waste because of all the abominations they have committed.’
And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they
will not do them: for with their mouth they
shew much love, but their heart goeth after their
covetousness.
So My people come to you as usual, sit before you, and hear your words; but they do not put them into practice. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue
dishonest gain.
And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
So when it comes to pass—and surely it will come—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the
shepherds; and I
will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the
shepherds feed themselves any more; for I
will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
This is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I am against the
shepherds, and I
will demand from them My flock and remove them from tending the flock, so that they can no longer feed themselves. For I
will deliver My flock from their mouths, and it
will no longer be food for them.’
For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
For this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Behold, I Myself will search for My flock and seek them out.
As a
shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so
will I seek out my sheep, and
will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the
cloudy and dark day.
As a
shepherd looks for his scattered sheep when he is among the flock, so I
will look for My flock. I
will rescue them from all the places to which they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.
And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.
I will bring them out from the peoples, gather them from the countries, and bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines, and in all the settlements of the land.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.
I
will feed them in good pasture, and the lofty mountains of Israel
will be their
grazing land. There they
will lie down in a good
grazing land; they
will feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.
I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
I will tend My flock and make them lie down, declares the Lord GOD.
I
will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and
will bind up that which was broken, and
will strengthen that which was sick: but I
will destroy the fat and the strong; I
will feed them with judgment.
I
will seek the lost, bring back the strays, bind up the broken, and
strengthen the weak; but the
sleek and strong I
will destroy. I
will shepherd them with justice.’
And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.
This is what the Lord GOD says to you, My flock: ‘I will judge between one sheep and another, between the rams and the goats.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I,
will judge between the fat cattle and between the
lean cattle.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says to them: ‘Behold, I Myself
will judge between the fat sheep and the
lean sheep.
Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
I will save My flock, and they will no longer be prey. I will judge between one sheep and another.
And I
will set up one
shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their
shepherd.
I
will appoint over them one
shepherd, My servant David, and he
will feed them. He
will feed them and be their
shepherd.
And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
I, the LORD, will be their God, and My servant David will be a prince among them. I, the LORD, have spoken.
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
I will make with them a covenant of peace and rid the land of wild animals, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the forest.
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
I will make them and the places around My hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season—showers of blessing.
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
The trees of the field
will give their fruit, and the land
will yield its produce; My flock
will be secure in their land. Then they
will know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bars of their yoke and delivered them from the hands that
enslaved them.
And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land
devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
They
will no longer be prey for the nations, and the beasts of the earth
will not
consume them. They
will dwell securely, and no one
will frighten them.
And I
will raise up for them a plant of
renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
And I
will raise up for them a garden of
renown, and they
will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the
scorn of the nations.
Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.
Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are My people,’ declares the Lord GOD.
And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount
Seir, I am against thee, and I
will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I
will make thee most
desolate.
and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O Mount
Seir. I
will stretch out My hand against you and make you a
desolate waste.
I
will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be
desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
I
will turn your cities into ruins, and you
will become a
desolation. Then you
will know that I am the LORD.
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I
will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee:
sith thou hast not
hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.
therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I
will give you over to
bloodshed and it
will pursue you. Since you did not
hate bloodshed, it
will pursue you.
Thus
will I make mount
Seir most
desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.
I
will make Mount
Seir a
desolate waste and
will cut off from it those who come and go.
And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
I will fill its mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, in your valleys, and in all your ravines.
I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I
will make you a perpetual
desolation, and your cities
will not be inhabited. Then you
will know that I am the LORD.
Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:
Because you have said, ‘These two nations and countries will be ours, and we will possess them,’ even though the LORD was there,
Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I
will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine
envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I
will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.
therefore as surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I will treat you according to the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred against them, and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.
And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid
desolate, they are given us to
consume.
Then you
will know that I, the LORD, have heard every
contemptuous word you uttered against the mountains of Israel when you said, ‘They are
desolate; they are given to us to
devour!’
Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I
will make thee
desolate.
This is what the Lord GOD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I
will make you
desolate.
As thou
didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was
desolate, so
will I do unto thee: thou shalt be
desolate, O mount
Seir, and all
Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
As you
rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became
desolate, so
will I do to you. You
will become a
desolation, O Mount
Seir, and so
will all of
Edom. Then they
will know that I am the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I have
sworn with an
uplifted hand that surely the nations around you
will endure reproach of their own.
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and bear fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come home.
For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
For behold, I am on your side; I will turn toward you, and you will be tilled and sown.
And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
I
will multiply the people upon you—the house of Israel in its
entirety. The cities
will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I
will fill you with people and animals, and they
will multiply and be fruitful. I
will make you as inhabited as you once were, and I
will make you
prosper more than before. Then you
will know that I am the LORD.
Yea, I
will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth
bereave them of men.
Yes, I
will cause My people Israel to walk upon you; they
will possess you, and you
will be their inheritance, and you
will no longer deprive them of their children.
Therefore thou shalt
devour men no more, neither
bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.
therefore you
will no longer
devour men or deprive your nation of its children, declares the Lord GOD.
Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
I
will no longer allow the taunts of the nations to be heard against you, and you
will no longer
endure the reproach of the peoples or cause your nation to
stumble, declares the Lord GOD.”
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have
profaned among the heathen,
whither ye went.
Therefore tell the house of Israel that this is what the Lord GOD says: It is not for your sake that I
will act, O house of Israel, but for My holy name, which you
profaned among the nations to which you went.
And I
will sanctify my great name, which was
profaned among the heathen, which ye have
profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be
sanctified in you before their eyes.
I
will show the
holiness of My great name, which has been
profaned among the nations—the name you have
profaned among them. Then the nations
will know that I am the LORD, declares the Lord GOD, when I show My
holiness in you before their eyes.
For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries, and I will bring you back into your own land.
Then
will I
sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your
filthiness, and from all your idols,
will I
cleanse you.
I
will also
sprinkle clean water on you, and you
will be clean. I
will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols.
A new heart also
will I give you, and a new spirit
will I put within you: and I
will take away the
stony heart out of your flesh, and I
will give you an heart of flesh.
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances.
And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Then you will live in the land that I gave your forefathers; you will be My people, and I will be your God.
I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
I
will save you from all your uncleanness. I
will summon the grain and make it
plentiful, and I
will not bring famine upon you.
And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
I
will also make the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field
plentiful, so that you
will no longer bear reproach among the nations on account of famine.
Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall
lothe yourselves in your own sight for your
iniquities and for your abominations.
Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be
ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
It is not for your sake that I
will act, declares the Lord GOD—let it be known to you. Be
ashamed and disgraced for your ways, O house of Israel!
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have
cleansed you from all your
iniquities I
will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
This is what the Lord GOD says: On the day I
cleanse you from all your
iniquities, I
will cause the cities to be resettled and the ruins to be rebuilt.
And the
desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay
desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
The
desolate land
will be cultivated instead of lying
desolate in the sight of all who pass through.
And they shall say, This land that was
desolate is become like the garden of
Eden; and the waste and
desolate and ruined cities are become
fenced, and are inhabited.
Then they
will say, ‘This land that was
desolate has become like the garden of
Eden. The cities that were once ruined,
desolate, and destroyed are now fortified and inhabited.’
Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was
desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I
will do it.
Then the nations around you that remain
will know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was destroyed, and I have replanted what was
desolate. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I
will do it.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
This is what the Lord GOD says: Once again I
will hear the
plea of the house of Israel and do for them this: I
will multiply their people like a flock.
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Like the numerous flocks for sacrifices at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so the ruined cities will be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”
Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
This is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will come to life.
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
I
will attach tendons to you and make flesh grow upon you and cover you with skin. I
will put breath within you so that you
will come to life. Then you
will know that I am the LORD.’”
Therefore
prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I
will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Therefore
prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O My people, I
will open your graves and bring you up from them, and I
will bring you back to the land of Israel.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Then you, My people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
I will put My Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.’”
Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel associated with him, and I will put them together with the stick of Judah. I will make them into a single stick, and they will become one in My hand.’
And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I
will take the children of Israel from among the heathen,
whither they be gone, and
will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land.
And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them. Then they will no longer be two nations and will never again be divided into two kingdoms.
Neither shall they
defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I
will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have
sinned, and
will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I
will be their God.
They
will no longer
defile themselves with their idols or
detestable images, or with any of their transgressions. I
will save them from all their
apostasies by which they
sinned, and I
will cleanse them. Then they
will be My people, and I
will be their God.
And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one
shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
My servant David
will be king over them, and there
will be one
shepherd for all of them. They
will follow My ordinances and keep and observe My statutes.
And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.
They
will live in the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They
will live there
forever with their children and grandchildren, and My servant David
will be their prince
forever.
Moreover I
will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an
everlasting covenant with them: and I
will place them, and multiply them, and
will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for
evermore.
And I
will make a covenant of peace with them; it
will be an
everlasting covenant. I
will establish them and multiply them, and I
will set My sanctuary among them
forever.
My tabernacle also shall be with them:
yea, I
will be their God, and they shall be my people.
My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people.
And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do
sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for
evermore.
Then the nations
will know that I the LORD
sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is among them
forever.’”
And I
will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I
will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and
horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
I
will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and bring you out with all your army—your horses, your
horsemen in full
armor, and a great company armed with shields and bucklers, all
brandishing their swords.
Persia,
Cush, and Put
will accompany them, all with shields and helmets,
Be thou prepared, and prepare for
thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
Get ready; prepare
yourself, you and all your company gathered around you; you
will be their guard.
After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
After a long time you
will be summoned. In the latter years you
will enter a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been
desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and all now dwell securely.
Thou shalt
ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
You and all your troops, and many peoples with you
will go up, advancing like a
thunderstorm; you
will be like a cloud covering the land.
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
This is what the Lord GOD says: On that day, thoughts
will arise in your mind, and you
will devise an evil plan.
And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
You
will say, ‘I
will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I
will come against a
tranquil people who dwell securely, all of them living without walls or bars or gates—
Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of
Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a
spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great
spoil?
Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of
Tarshish with all its villages
will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the
plunder? Have you assembled your hordes to carry away
loot, to make off with silver and gold, to take cattle and goods, to seize great
spoil?’
Therefore, son of man,
prophesy and say unto
Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
Therefore
prophesy, son of man, and tell
Gog that this is what the Lord GOD says: On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely,
will you not take notice of this?
And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
And you
will come from your place out of the far north—you and many peoples with you, all riding horses—a mighty
horde, a huge army.
And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I
will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be
sanctified in thee, O
Gog, before their eyes.
You
will advance against My people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It
will happen in the latter days, O
Gog, that I
will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me when I show Myself holy in you before their eyes.
And it shall come to pass at the same time when
Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my
fury shall come up in my face.
Now on that day when
Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, My wrath
will flare up.
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great
shaking in the land of Israel;
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all
creeping things that
creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall
shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
The fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts of the field, every creature that crawls upon the ground, and all mankind on the face of the earth
will tremble at My presence. The mountains
will be thrown down, the cliffs
will collapse, and every wall
will fall to the ground.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I
will summon a sword against
Gog on all My mountains, declares the Lord GOD, and every man’s sword
will be against his brother.
And I
will plead against him with
pestilence and with blood; and I
will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and
brimstone.
I
will execute judgment upon him with plague and
bloodshed. I
will pour out torrents of rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him.
