Berean Standard Bible BSB Bible
From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,
everyone from thirty to fifty years old who came to serve in the
work at the Tent of Meeting.
From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entereth into the service, for the work in the tabernacle of the congregation,
everyone from thirty to fifty years old who came to serve in the
work at the Tent of Meeting.
From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the service of the burden in the tabernacle of the congregation,
from thirty to fifty years old who came to do the work of serving and carrying the Tent of Meeting.
According to the commandment of the LORD they were numbered by the hand of Moses, every one according to his service, and according to his burden: thus were they numbered of him, as the LORD commanded Moses.
At the LORD’s command they were numbered through Moses and each one was assigned his work and burden, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Take it of them, that they may be to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man according to his service.
“Accept these gifts from them, that they may be used in the work of the Tent of Meeting. And give them to the Levites, to each man according to his service.”
And this
work of the
candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten
work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the
candlestick.
This is how the lampstand was constructed: it was made of hammered gold from its base to its blossoms, fashioned according to the pattern the LORD had shown Moses.
This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
“This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years of age or older shall enter to perform the service in the work at the Tent of Meeting.
And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
But at the age of fifty, they must retire from performing the work and no longer serve.
But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
After that, they may assist their brothers in
fulfilling their duties at the Tent of Meeting, but they themselves are not to do the
work. This is how you are to
assign responsibilities to the Levites.”
Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
Is it not enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel and brought you near to Himself to perform the work at the LORD’s tabernacle, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them?
And Moses said,
Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these
works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
Then Moses said, “This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these things, for it was not my own doing:
And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come
nigh unto you.
They are to join you and attend to the duties of the Tent of Meeting, doing all the work at the Tent; but no outsider may come near you.
Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the
vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office unto you as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh
nigh shall be put to death.
But only you and your sons shall attend to your priesthood for everything concerning the altar and what is inside the
veil, and you are to perform that service. I am giving you the
work of the priesthood as a gift, but any outsider who comes near the sanctuary must be put to death.”
And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
Behold, I have given to the Levites all the
tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the
work they do, the service of the Tent of Meeting.
But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.
The Levites are to perform the work of the Tent of Meeting, and they must bear their iniquity. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come. The Levites will not receive an inheritance among the Israelites.
And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households: for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the congregation.
And you and your households may eat the rest of it
anywhere; it is the compensation for your
work at the Tent of Meeting.
In the first day shall be an holy
convocation; ye shall do no manner of
servile work therein:
On the first day there is to be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.
On the seventh day you shall hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.
Also in the day of the firstfruits, when ye bring a new meat offering unto the LORD, after your weeks be out, ye shall have an holy
convocation; ye shall do no
servile work:
On the day of firstfruits, when you present an offering of new grain to the LORD during the Feast of Weeks, you are to hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.
And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy
convocation; ye shall do no
servile work: it is a day of blowing the
trumpets unto you.
“On the first day of the seventh month, you are to hold a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular
work. This will be a day for you to sound the
trumpets.
And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy
convocation; and ye shall
afflict your souls: ye shall not do any
work therein:
On the tenth day of this seventh month, you are to hold a sacred assembly, and you shall humble
yourselves; you must not do any
work.
And on the
fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy
convocation; ye shall do no
servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days:
On the
fifteenth day of the seventh month, you are to hold a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular
work, and you shall observe a feast to the LORD for seven days.
On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly: ye shall do no
servile work therein:
On the eighth day you are to hold a solemn assembly; you must not do any regular work.
And
purify all your
raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all
work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.
And
purify every garment and leather good, everything made of goat’s hair, and every article of wood.”
For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.
Indeed, the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these forty years, and you have lacked nothing.
O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to
shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy
works, and according to thy might?
“O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your greatness and power to Your servant. For what god in heaven or on earth can perform such works and mighty acts as Yours?
And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
And there you will serve man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell.
Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any
work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy
manservant, nor thy
maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine
ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy
manservant and thy
maidservant may rest as well as thou.
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any
work—neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your
manservant or
maidservant, nor your ox or
donkey or any of your
livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates, so that your
manservant and
maidservant may rest as you do.
And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
the signs and works He did in Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his land;
But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.
For it is your own eyes that have seen every great work that the LORD has done.
And the
Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the
work of thine hand which thou doest.
Then the
Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will
bless you in all the
work of your hands.
Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be
grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all thy
works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
Give generously to him, and do not let your heart be
grieved when you do so. And because of this the LORD your God will
bless you in all your
work and in everything to which you put your hand.
You must set apart to the LORD your God every
firstborn male produced by your herds and flocks. You are not to put the
firstborn of your oxen to
work, nor are you to
shear the
firstborn of your flock.
Six days thou shalt eat
unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no
work therein.
For six days you must eat
unleavened bread, and on the seventh day you shall hold a solemn assembly to the LORD your God, and you must not do any
work.
Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the
works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely
rejoice.
For seven days you shall
celebrate a feast to the LORD your God in the place He will choose, because the LORD your God will
bless you in all your produce and in all the
work of your hands, so that your joy will be complete.
Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued.
But you may destroy the trees that you know do not produce fruit. Use them to build siege
works against the city that is
waging war against you, until it falls.
And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an
heifer, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;
Then the elders of the city nearest the
victim shall take a
heifer that has never been yoked or used for
work,
When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast
forgot a
sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to
fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the
work of thine hands.
If you are harvesting in your field and
forget a
sheaf there, do not go back to get it. It is to be left for the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, so that the LORD your God may
bless you in all the
work of your hands.
The LORD shall open unto thee his good
treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to
bless all the
work of thine hand: and thou shalt
lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not
borrow.
The LORD will open the heavens, His abundant
storehouse, to send rain on your land in season and to
bless all the
work of your hands. You will
lend to many nations, but
borrow from none.
And the LORD thy God will make thee
plenteous in every
work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again
rejoice over thee for good, as he
rejoiced over thy fathers:
So the LORD your God will make you abound in all the
work of your hands and in the fruit of your
womb, the offspring of your
livestock, and the produce of your land. Indeed, the LORD will again delight in your goodness, as He delighted in that of your fathers,
For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt
yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will
befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger through the
work of your hands.
For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt and turn from the path I have commanded you. And in the days to come,
disaster will
befall you because you will do evil in the sight of the LORD to
provoke Him to anger by the
work of your hands.”
He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
He is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just. A God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is He.
Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the
work of his hands:
smite through the loins of them that rise against him, and of them that
hate him, that they rise not again.
Bless his substance, O LORD, and accept the
work of his hands.
Smash the loins of those who rise against him, and of his foes so they can rise no more.”
They did
work wilily, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their
asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.
Israel had served the LORD throughout the days of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him and who had experienced all the works that the LORD had done for Israel.
And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
And the people served the LORD throughout the days of Joshua and of the elders who outlived him, who had seen all the great works that the LORD had done for Israel.
And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
After that whole generation had also been gathered to their fathers, another generation rose up who did not know the LORD or the works that He had done for Israel.
She put her hand to the
nail, and her right hand to the
workmen’s hammer; and with the hammer she
smote Sisera, she
smote off his head, when she had pierced and
stricken through his temples.
She reached for the tent
peg, her right hand for the
workman’s hammer. She struck Sisera and
crushed his skull; she
shattered and pierced his temple.
And, behold, there came an old man from his
work out of the field at even, which was also of mount Ephraim; and he
sojourned in Gibeah: but the men of the place were Benjamites.
That evening an old man from the hill country of Ephraim, who was residing in Gibeah (the men of that place were Benjamites), came in from his work in the field.
The LORD
recompense thy
work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
May the LORD repay your work, and may you receive a rich reward from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have taken refuge.”
And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou
gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man’s name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz.
Then her mother-in-law asked her, “Where did you
glean today, and where did you
work? Blessed be the man who noticed you.” So she told her mother-in-law where she had
worked. “The name of the man I
worked with
today is Boaz,” she said.
And
Naomi said unto
Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field.
And
Naomi said to her daughter-in-law
Ruth, “My daughter, it is good for you to
work with his young women, so that nothing will happen to you in another field.”
And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou
wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.
Now is not Boaz, with whose servant girls you have been
working, a relative of ours? In fact,
tonight he is
winnowing barley on the
threshing floor.
According to all the
works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day,
wherewith they have
forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
Just as they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day,
forsaking Me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.
And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your
asses, and put them to his
work.
And he will take your menservants and maidservants and your best cattle and
donkeys and put them to his own use.
And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel.
But Saul ordered, “No one shall be put to death this day, for
today the LORD has
worked salvation in Israel.”
And
Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these
uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will
work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.
Jonathan said to the young man bearing his
armor, “Come, let us cross over to the outpost of these
uncircumcised men. Perhaps the LORD will
work on our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few.”
And
Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not
sinned against thee, and because his
works have been to thee-ward very good:
Then
Jonathan spoke well of David to his father Saul and said to him, “The king should not sin against his servant David; he has not
sinned against you. In fact, his actions have been highly
beneficial to you.
For he did put his life in his hand, and
slew the
Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and
didst rejoice: wherefore then
wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to
slay David without a cause?
He took his life in his hands when he struck down the
Philistine, and the LORD
worked a great salvation for all Israel. You saw it and
rejoiced, so why would you sin against innocent blood by killing David for no reason?”
Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread
alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
You and your sons and servants are to work the ground for him and bring in the harvest, so that your master’s grandson may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, is always to eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
And he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the
brickkiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of
Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.
David brought out the people who were there and put them to
work with saws, iron picks, and axes, and he made them
work at the brick kilns. He did the same to all the
Ammonite cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem.
Beside the chief of Solomon’s officers which were over the work, three thousand and three hundred, which ruled over the people that wrought in the work.
And he carved
thereon cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered them with gold fitted upon the carved
work.
He carved into them
cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold, hammered evenly over the carvings.
And his house where he dwelt had another court within the
porch, which was of the like
work. Solomon made also an house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like unto this
porch.
And the palace where Solomon would live, set further back, was of similar construction. He also made a palace like this hall for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had married.
He was a widow’s son of the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a
worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and
cunning to
work all
works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his
work.
He was the son of a widow from the tribe of
Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a
craftsman in bronze. Huram had great skill, understanding, and knowledge for every kind of bronze
work. So he came to King Solomon and carried out all his
work.
And nets of checker
work, and
wreaths of chain
work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one
chapiter, and seven for the other
chapiter.
For the capitals on top of the pillars he made a network of
lattice, with
wreaths of
chainwork, seven for each capital.
And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of
lily work in the
porch, four cubits.
And the capitals
atop the pillars in the
portico were shaped like
lilies, four cubits high.
And upon the top of the pillars was
lily work: so was the
work of the pillars finished.
And the tops of the pillars were shaped like
lilies. So the
work of the pillars was completed.
And the work of the bases was on this manner: they had borders, and the borders were between the ledges:
This was the design of the stands: They had side panels attached to uprights,
And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.
and on the panels between the uprights were lions, oxen, and
cherubim. On the uprights was a
pedestal above, and below the lions and oxen were
wreaths of
beveled work.
And the mouth of it within the
chapiter and above was a
cubit: but the mouth thereof was round after the
work of the base, a
cubit and an half: and also upon the mouth of it were gravings with their borders,
foursquare, not round.
The opening to each stand inside the crown at the top was one
cubit deep, with a round opening like the design of a
pedestal, a
cubit and a half wide. And around its opening were engravings, but the panels of the stands were square, not round.
And the
work of the wheels was like the
work of a
chariot wheel: their axletrees, and their naves, and their felloes, and their spokes, were all
molten.
The wheels were made like
chariot wheels; their axles, rims, spokes, and hubs were all of cast metal.
And
Hiram made the lavers, and the shovels, and the basons. So
Hiram made an end of doing all the
work that he made king Solomon for the house of the LORD:
Additionally, Huram made the pots, shovels, and
sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished all the
work that he had undertaken for King Solomon in the house of the LORD:
So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of the LORD. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of the LORD.
So all the
work that King Solomon had performed for the house of the LORD was completed. Then Solomon brought in the items his father David had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and the furnishings—and he placed them in the
treasuries of the house of the LORD.
These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.
They were also the chief officers over Solomon’s projects: 550 supervisors over the people who did the work.
Now there dwelt an old prophet in
Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the
works that the man of God had done that day in
Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.
Now a certain old prophet was living in
Bethel, and his sons came and told him all the deeds that the man of God had done that day in
Bethel. They also told their father the words that the man had spoken to the king.
And also by the hand of the prophet
Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of the LORD against
Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of the LORD, in
provoking him to anger with the
work of his hands, in being like the house of
Jeroboam; and because he killed him.
Moreover, the word of the LORD came through the prophet
Jehu son of Hanani against
Baasha and his house, because of all the evil he had done in the sight of the LORD,
provoking Him to anger with the
work of his hands and becoming like the house of
Jeroboam, and also because
Baasha had struck down the house of
Jeroboam.
And
Ahab said to
Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold
thyself to
work evil in the sight of the LORD.
When
Elijah arrived,
Ahab said to him, “So you have found me out, my enemy.” He replied, “I have found you out because you have sold
yourself to do evil in the sight of the LORD.
But there was none like unto
Ahab, which did sell himself to
work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom
Jezebel his wife
stirred up.
(Surely there was never one like
Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the sight of the LORD, incited by his wife
Jezebel.
And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
Then they would put the counted money into the hands of those who
supervised the
work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the
work—the carpenters, builders,
But they gave that to the
workmen, and repaired
therewith the house of the LORD.
Instead, it was paid to those doing the work, and with it they repaired the house of the LORD.
Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
No accounting was required from the men who received the money to pay the
workmen, because they acted with
integrity.
And king
Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king
Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the
workmanship thereof.
Then King
Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria. On seeing the altar in Damascus, King
Ahaz sent Uriah the priest a model of the altar and complete plans for its construction.
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
They have cast their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods, but only wood and stone—the work of human hands.
And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house,
And let them deliver it into the hands of the supervisors of those doing the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn are to give it to the workmen repairing the damages to the house of the LORD—
Howbeit there was no
reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.
But they need not account for the money put into their hands, since they
work with
integrity.”
And Shaphan the
scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the
work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.
And Shaphan the
scribe went to the king and reported, “Your servants have paid out the money that was found in the temple and have put it into the hands of the
workers and supervisors of the house of the LORD.”
Because they have
forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might
provoke me to anger with all the
works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be
kindled against this place, and shall not be
quenched.
because they have
forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods, that they might
provoke Me to anger with all the
works of their hands. My wrath will be
kindled against this place and will not be
quenched.’
Moreover the
workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were
spied in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, did
Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.
Furthermore,
Josiah removed the mediums and spiritists, the household gods and idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this to carry out the words of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the house of the LORD.
The height of the one
pillar was eighteen cubits, and the
chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the
chapiter three cubits; and the
wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the
chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second
pillar with
wreathen work.
Each
pillar was eighteen cubits tall. The bronze capital
atop one
pillar was three cubits high, with a network of bronze pomegranates all around. The second
pillar, with its network, was similar.
And Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and
Joash, and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things.
Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah and the clans of the linen
workers at Beth-ashbea, Jokim, the men of Cozeba, and
