And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again
curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his
youth; neither will I again
smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
When the LORD smelled the pleasing
aroma, He said in His heart, “Never again will I
curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from his
youth. And never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done.
And they sat before him, the
firstborn according to his
birthright, and the youngest according to his
youth: and the men
marvelled one at another.
They were seated before Joseph in order by age, from the
firstborn to the youngest, and the men looked at one another in
astonishment.
That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our
youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of
Goshen; for every
shepherd is an
abomination unto the Egyptians.
you are to say, ‘Your servants have raised
livestock ever since our
youth—both we and our fathers.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of
Goshen, since all
shepherds are
detestable to the Egyptians.”
But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or
divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her
youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.
But if a priest’s daughter with no children becomes widowed or
divorced and returns to her father’s house, she may share her father’s food as in her
youth. But no outsider may share it.
And Joshua the son of
Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses,
forbid them.
Joshua son of
Nun, the
attendant to Moses since
youth, spoke up and said, “Moses, my lord, stop them!”
If a woman also
vow a
vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her
youth;
And if a woman in her father’s house during her
youth makes a
vow to the LORD or obligates herself by a
pledge,
These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.

And he said unto Jether his
firstborn, Up, and
slay them. But the
youth drew not his sword: for he feared, because he was yet a
youth.
So he said to Jether, his
firstborn, “Get up and kill them.” But the young man did not draw his sword; he was fearful because he was still a
youth.
And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my
childhood unto this day.
Now here is the king walking before you, and I am old and gray, and my sons are here with you. I have walked before you from my youth until this day.
And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this
Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a
youth, and he a man of war from his
youth.
But Saul replied, “You cannot go out against this
Philistine to fight him. You are just a boy, and he has been a
warrior from his
youth.”
And when the
Philistine looked about, and saw David, he
disdained him: for he was but a
youth, and
ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
And when Saul saw David go forth against the
Philistine, he said unto
Abner, the captain of the host,
Abner, whose son is this
youth? And
Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.
As Saul had watched David going out to
confront the
Philistine, he said to
Abner the commander of the army, “
Abner, whose son is this young man?” “As surely as you live, O king,”
Abner replied, “I do not know.”
Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak
comfortably unto thy servants: for I
swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not
tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that
befell thee from thy
youth until now.
Now therefore get up! Go out and speak comfort to your servants, for I
swear by the LORD that if you do not go out, not a man will remain with you
tonight. This will be worse for you than all the
adversity that has
befallen you from your
youth until now!”
And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee
whither I know not; and so when I come and tell
Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall
slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my
youth.
I do not know where the Spirit of the LORD may carry you off when I leave you. Then when I go and tell
Ahab and he does not find you, he will kill me. But I, your servant, have feared the LORD from my
youth.
For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the
iniquities of my
youth.
For You record bitter accusations against me and
bequeath to me the
iniquities of my
youth.
His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
The
youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie down with him in the dust.
As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
when I was in my prime, when the friendship of God rested on my tent,
Upon my right hand rise the
youth; they
push away my feet, and they raise up against me the ways of their destruction.
The
rabble arises at my right; they lay snares for my feet and build siege ramps against me.
(For from my
youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother’s
womb;)
though from my
youth I reared him as would a father, and from my mother’s
womb I guided the widow—
His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s: he shall return to the days of his youth:
then his flesh is refreshed like a child’s; he returns to the days of his youth.
They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
They die in their
youth, among the male
shrine prostitutes.
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.
Remember not the sins of my
youth, nor my
rebellious acts; remember me according to Your loving devotion, because of Your goodness, O LORD.
For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
For You are my hope, O Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.
O God, thou hast taught me from my
youth: and hitherto have I declared thy
wondrous works.
O God, You have taught me from my
youth, and to this day I
proclaim Your
marvelous deeds.
I am
afflicted and ready to die from my
youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
From my
youth I was
afflicted and near death. I have borne Your terrors; I am in
despair.
The days of his
youth hast thou
shortened: thou hast covered him with shame.
Selah.
You have cut short the days of his
youth; You have covered him with shame.
Selah Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
who satisfies you with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of
holiness from the
womb of the morning: thou hast the
dew of thy
youth.
Your people shall be willing on Your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy
splendor, from the
womb of the
dawn, to You belongs the
dew of Your
youth.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Like arrows in the hand of a
warrior, so are children born in one’s
youth.
Many a time have they
afflicted me from my
youth, may Israel now say:
Many a time they have
persecuted me from my
youth— let Israel now declare—
Many a time have they
afflicted me from my
youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.
many a time they have
persecuted me from my
youth, but they have not prevailed against me.
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their
youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the
similitude of a palace:
Then our sons will be like plants
nurtured in their
youth, our daughters like corner pillars carved to
adorn a palace.
Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
who abandons the
partner of her
youth and forgets the covenant of her God.
Let thy fountain be blessed: and
rejoice with the wife of thy
youth.
May your fountain be blessed, and may you
rejoice in the wife of your
youth:
And
beheld among the simple ones, I
discerned among the
youths, a young man void of understanding,
I saw among the simple, I noticed among the youths, a young man lacking judgment,
He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
A servant
pampered from his
youth will bring grief in the end.
Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and
foolish king, who will no more be
admonished.
Better is a poor but wise
youth than an old but
foolish king who no longer knows how to take a
warning.
For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also he that is born in his kingdom becometh poor.
For the
youth has come from the prison to the
kingship, though he was born poor in his own kingdom.
I considered all the living which walk under the sun, with the second child that shall stand up in his
stead.
I saw that all who lived and walked under the sun followed this second one, the youth who succeeded the king.
Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning!
Woe to you, O land whose king is a
youth, and whose princes feast in the morning.
Rejoice, O young man, in thy
youth; and let thy heart
cheer thee in the days of thy
youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
Rejoice, O young man, while you are young, and let your heart be
glad in the days of your
youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes, but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.
Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for
childhood and
youth are vanity.
So
banish sorrow from your heart, and cast off pain from your body, for
youth and
vigor are fleeting.
Remember now thy
Creator in the days of thy
youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw
nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
Remember your
Creator in the days of your
youth, before the days of
adversity come and the years approach of which you will say, “I find no pleasure in them,”
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to
err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Youths oppress My people, and women rule over them. O My people, your guides mislead you; they turn you from your paths.
Even the
youths shall
faint and be
weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy
sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy
youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
So take your stand with your spells and with your many
sorceries, with which you have
wearied yourself from your
youth. Perhaps you will succeed; perhaps you will
inspire terror!
Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy
youth: they shall
wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
This is what they are to you— those with whom you have labored and traded from youth— each one strays in his own direction; not one of them can save you.
Fear not; for thou shalt not be
ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt
forget the shame of thy
youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy
widowhood any more.
Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; do not be
intimidated, for you will not be
humiliated. For you will
forget the shame of your
youth and will remember no more the reproach of your
widowhood.
For the LORD hath called thee as a woman
forsaken and
grieved in spirit, and a wife of
youth, when thou
wast refused, saith thy God.
For the LORD has called you back, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, like the rejected wife of one’s youth,” says your God.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the
sinner being an hundred years old shall be
accursed.
No longer will a
nursing infant live but a few days, or an old man fail to live out his years. For the
youth will die at a hundred years, and he who fails to reach a hundred will be considered
accursed.
Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy
youth, the love of thine
espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
“Go and
proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem that this is what the LORD says: ‘I remember the devotion of your
youth, your love as a
bride, how you followed Me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.
Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my
youth?
Have you not just called to Me, ‘My Father, You are my friend from youth.
For shame hath
devoured the labour of our fathers from our
youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
From our youth, that shameful god has consumed what our fathers have worked for— their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.
We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have
sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our
youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.
Let us lie down in our shame; let our disgrace cover us. We have
sinned against the LORD our God, both we and our fathers; from our
youth even to this day we have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.”
I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
I
warned you when you were secure. You said, ‘I will not
listen.’ This has been your way from
youth, that you have not obeyed My voice.
For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their
youth: for the children of Israel have only
provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD.
For the children of Israel and of Judah have done nothing but evil in My sight from their
youth; indeed, they have done nothing but
provoke Me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD.
Moab hath been at ease from his
youth, and he hath settled on his
lees, and hath not been
emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his
scent is not changed.
Moab has been at ease from
youth, settled like wine on its
dregs; he has not been poured from vessel to vessel or gone into exile. So his
flavor has remained the same, and his
aroma is unchanged.
With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the
maid;
It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is still young.
Then said I,
Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been
polluted: for from my
youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is
torn in pieces; neither came there
abominable flesh into my mouth.
“
Ah, Lord GOD,” I said, “I have never
defiled myself. From my
youth until now I have not eaten anything found dead or
mauled by wild beasts. No unclean meat has ever entered my mouth.”
And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy
youth, when thou
wast naked and bare, and
wast polluted in thy blood.
And in all your abominations and acts of
prostitution, you did not remember the days of your
youth when you were naked and bare,
wallowing in your own blood.
Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy
youth, but hast
fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will
recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this
lewdness above all thine abominations.
Because you did not remember the days of your
youth, but
enraged Me with all these things, I will surely bring your deeds down upon your own head, declares the Lord GOD. Have you not committed this
lewdness on top of all your other abominations?
Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy
youth, and I will establish unto thee an
everlasting covenant.
But I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your
youth, and I will establish an
everlasting covenant with you.
And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their
youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they
bruised the teats of their
virginity.
and they played in Egypt,
prostituting themselves from their
youth. Their breasts were
fondled there, and their virgin bosoms
caressed.
Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her
youth they lay with her, and they
bruised the breasts of her
virginity, and poured their
whoredom upon her.
Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to
remembrance the days of her
youth, wherein she had played the
harlot in the land of Egypt.
Yet she multiplied her
promiscuity, remembering the days of her
youth, when she had
prostituted herself in the land of Egypt
So you revisited the
indecency of your
youth, when the Egyptians
caressed your
bosom and pressed your young breasts.
And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of
Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her
youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
There I will give back her vineyards and make the Valley of
Achor into a
gateway of hope. There she will
respond as she did in the days of her
youth, as in the day she came up out of Egypt.
But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an
husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my
youth.
He will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I work the land, for I was purchased as a servant in my youth.’
Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy
youth, against whom thou hast dealt
treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
Yet you ask, “Why?” It is because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have broken faith, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take
heed to your spirit, and let none deal
treacherously against the wife of his
youth.
Has not the LORD made them one, having a portion of the Spirit? And why one? Because He seeks godly offspring. So guard
yourselves in your spirit and do not break faith with the wife of your
youth.
The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
“All these I have kept,” said the young man. “What do I still lack?”
And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
“Teacher,” he replied, “all these I have kept from my youth.”
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
“All these I have kept from my youth,” he said.
My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
Surely all the Jews know how I have lived from the earliest days of my youth, among my own people and in Jerusalem.
But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
However, if someone thinks he is acting inappropriately toward his
betrothed, and if she is beyond her
youth and they ought to marry, let him do as he wishes; he is not
sinning; they should get married.
Let no man
despise thy
youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Let no one
despise your
youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
Flee also
youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Flee from
youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
And she shall answer thee, They that be born in the strength of
youth are of one fashion, and they that are born in the time of age, when the
womb faileth, are otherwise.
And so are they that come after you less than ye, as the creatures which now begin to be old, and have passed over the strength of youth.
For thy voice is heard before the most High: for the Mighty hath seen thy righteous dealing, he hath seen also thy
chastity, which thou hast had ever since thy
youth.
For the world hath lost his youth, and the times begin to wax old.
And they called together all the ancients of the city, and all their youth ran together, and their women, to the assembly, and they set Achior in the midst of all their people. Then Ozias asked him of that which was done.
From my
youth up I have heard in the tribe of my family that thou, O Lord, tookest Israel from among all people, and our fathers from all their predecessors, for a perpetual inheritance, and thou hast performed
whatsoever thou
didst promise them.
Come on therefore, let us enjoy the good things that are present: and let us speedily use the creatures like as in youth.
Thus the righteous that is dead shall
condemn the ungodly which are living; and
youth that is soon perfected the many years and old age of the unrighteous.
I loved her, and sought her out from my
youth, I desired to make her my
spouse, and I was a lover of her beauty.
My son, gather instruction from thy youth up: so shalt thou find wisdom till thine old age.
Hast thou children?
instruct them, and bow down their neck from their
youth.
Every man from his
youth is given to evil; neither could they make to themselves
fleshy hearts for
stony.
If thou hast gathered nothing in thy youth, how canst thou find any thing in thine age?
Give him no liberty in his
youth, and
wink not at his
follies.
How wise
wast thou in thy
youth and, as a flood, filled with understanding!
Even from the flower till the
grape was ripe hath my heart delighted in her: my foot went the right way, from my
youth up sought I after her.
Therefore when she was led to be put to death, the Lord raised up the holy spirit of a young youth whose name was Daniel:
Wherefore he called his servants, such as were honourable, and had been brought up with him from his youth, and parted his kingdom among them, while he was yet alive.
As for
Judas Maccabeus, he hath been mighty and strong, even from his
youth up: let him be your captain, and fight the battle of the people.
Wherefore Simon called his two eldest sons,
Judas and John, and said unto them, I, and my brethren, and my father’s house, have ever from my
youth unto this day fought against the enemies of Israel; and things have
prospered so well in our hands, that we have delivered Israel
oftentimes.
