And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof,
and the whole
rump, it shall he take off hard by the
backbone;
and the fat that covereth the inwards,
and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
And from the peace offering he shall bring an offering made by fire to the LORD consisting of its fat: the entire fat tail cut off close to the
backbone, the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys,
and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks,
and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away.
both
kidneys with the fat on them near the loins,
and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys.
And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the LORD.
Then the priest is to burn them on the altar as food, an offering made by fire to the LORD.
And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before the LORD.
If one’s offering is a goat, he is to present it before the LORD.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it,
and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation:
and the sons of Aaron shall
sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.
He must lay his hand on its head
and slaughter it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall
sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar.
And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
And from his offering he shall present an offering made by fire to the LORD: the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys,
and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks,
and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away.
both
kidneys with the fat on them near the loins,
and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys.
And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD’S.
Then the priest is to burn the food on the altar as an offering made by fire, a pleasing
aroma. All the fat is the LORD’s.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
“Tell the Israelites to do as follows with one who sins
unintentionally against any of the LORD’s commandments
and does what is forbidden by them:
And he shall bring the
bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD;
and shall lay his hand upon the
bullock’s head,
and kill the
bullock before the LORD.
He must bring the bull to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the LORD.
And the priest that is
anointed shall take of the
bullock’s blood,
and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:
Then the
anointed priest shall take some of the bull’s blood
and bring it into the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood,
and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the
vail of the sanctuary.
The priest is to dip his finger in the blood
and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD, in front of the
veil of the sanctuary.
And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation:
and shall pour all the blood of the
bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
The priest must then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of
fragrant incense that is before the LORD in the Tent of Meeting.
And he is to pour out the rest of the bull’s blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And he shall take off from it all the fat of the
bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards,
and all the fat that is upon the inwards,
Then he shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering—the fat that covers the
entrails, all the fat that is on them,
And the two
kidneys,
and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks,
and the
caul above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away,
both
kidneys with the fat on them near the loins,
and the
lobe of the liver, which he is to remove with the
kidneys—
As it was taken off from the
bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings:
and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt offering.
just as the fat is removed from the ox of the peace offering. Then the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.
And the skin of the
bullock,
and all his flesh, with his head,
and with his legs,
and his inwards,
and his dung,
But the hide of the bull
and all its flesh, with its head
and legs
and its
entrails and dung—
Even the whole
bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out,
and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.
all the rest of the bull—he must take outside the camp to a
ceremonially clean place where the ashes are poured out,
and there he must burn it on a wood fire on the ash
heap.
And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance,
and the thing be
hid from the eyes of the assembly,
and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done,
and are guilty;
Now if the whole congregation of Israel strays
unintentionally and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly so that they
violate any of the LORD’s commandments
and incur guilt by doing what is forbidden,
When the sin, which they have
sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young
bullock for the sin,
and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.
when they become aware of the sin they have committed, then the assembly must bring a young bull as a sin offering and present it before the Tent of Meeting.
And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the
bullock before the LORD:
and the
bullock shall be killed before the LORD.
The elders of the congregation are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the LORD, and it shall be slaughtered before the LORD.
And the priest that is
anointed shall bring of the
bullock’s blood to the tabernacle of the congregation:
Then the
anointed priest is to bring some of the bull’s blood into the Tent of Meeting,
And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood,
and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, even before the
vail.
and he is to dip his finger in the blood
and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD in front of the
veil.
And he shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, that is in the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
He is also to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before the LORD in the Tent of Meeting, and he must pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
And he shall take all his fat from him, and burn it upon the altar.
And he is to remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar.
And he shall do with the
bullock as he did with the
bullock for a sin offering, so shall he do with this:
and the priest shall make an
atonement for them,
and it shall be
forgiven them.
He shall offer this bull just as he did the bull for the sin offering; in this way the priest will make
atonement on their behalf,
and they will be
forgiven.
And he shall carry forth the
bullock without the camp,
and burn him as he burned the first
bullock: it is a sin offering for the congregation.
Then he is to take the bull outside the camp and burn it, just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.
When a ruler hath
sinned,
and done somewhat through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD his God concerning things which should not be done,
and is guilty;
When a leader sins
unintentionally and does what is prohibited by any of the commandments of the LORD his God, he incurs guilt.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD: it is a sin offering.
He is to lay his hand on the head of the goat and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD. It is a sin offering.
And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out his blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering.
Then the priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
And he shall burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings:
and the priest shall make an
atonement for him as concerning his sin,
and it shall be
forgiven him.
He must burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the peace offerings; thus the priest will make
atonement for that man’s sin,
and he will be
forgiven.
And if any one of the common people sin through ignorance, while he doeth somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and be guilty;
And if one of the common people sins
unintentionally and does what is prohibited by any of the LORD’s commandments, he incurs guilt.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering,
and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
He is to lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering.
And the priest shall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.
Then the priest is to take some of its blood with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.
And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings;
and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the LORD;
and the priest shall make an
atonement for him,
and it shall be
forgiven him.
Then he is to remove all the fat, just as it is removed from the peace offering,
and the priest is to burn it on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him,
and he will be
forgiven.
And if he bring a lamb for a sin offering, he shall bring it a female without
blemish.
If, however, he brings a lamb as a sin offering, he must bring an
unblemished female.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering,
and slay it for a sin offering in the place where they kill the burnt offering
And he is to lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it as a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.
And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and shall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar:
Then the priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar.
And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings;
and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD:
and the priest shall make an
atonement for his sin that he hath committed,
and it shall be
forgiven him.
And he shall remove all the fat, just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the peace offerings,
and he shall burn it on the altar along with the offerings made by fire to the LORD. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed,
and he will be
forgiven.
And if a soul sin,
and hear the voice of
swearing,
and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
“If someone sins by failing to
testify when he hears a public charge about something he has witnessed, whether he has seen it or learned of it, he shall bear the iniquity.
Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a
carcase of an unclean beast, or a
carcase of unclean cattle, or the
carcase of unclean
creeping things,
and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean,
and guilty.
Or if a person touches anything unclean—whether the
carcass of any unclean wild animal or
livestock or
crawling creature—even if he is unaware of it, he is unclean
and guilty.
Or if he touch the uncleanness of man,
whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be
defiled withal,
and it be
hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.
Or if he touches human uncleanness—anything by which one becomes unclean—even if he is unaware of it, when he realizes it, he is guilty.
Or if a soul
swear,
pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good,
whatsoever it be that a man shall
pronounce with an oath,
and it be
hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
Or if someone swears
thoughtlessly with his lips to do anything good or evil—in whatever matter a man may
rashly pronounce an oath—even if he is unaware of it, when he realizes it, he is guilty in the matter.
And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall
confess that he hath
sinned in that thing:
If someone incurs guilt in one of these ways, he must
confess the sin he has committed,
And he shall bring his
trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath
sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a
kid of the goats, for a sin offering;
and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his sin.
and he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD for the sin he has committed: a female lamb or goat from the flock as a sin offering.
And the priest will make
atonement for him concerning his sin.
And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his
trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the LORD; one for a sin offering,
and the other for a burnt offering.
If, however, he cannot afford a lamb, he may bring to the LORD as
restitution for his sin two turtledoves or two young pigeons—one as a sin offering
and the other as a burnt offering.
And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first,
and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it
asunder:
He is to bring them to the priest, who shall first present the one for the sin offering. He is to twist its head at the front of its neck without severing it;
And he shall
sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar;
and the rest of the blood shall be
wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin offering.
then he is to
sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar, while the rest of the blood is drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering.
And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner:
and the priest shall make an
atonement for him for his sin which he hath
sinned,
and it shall be
forgiven him.
And the priest must prepare the second bird as a burnt offering according to the
ordinance. In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for the sin he has committed,
and he will be
forgiven.
Then shall he bring it to the priest,
and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a
memorial thereof,
and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: it is a sin offering.
He is to bring it to the priest, who shall take a handful from it as a
memorial portion
and burn it on the altar
atop the offerings made by fire to the LORD; it is a sin offering.
And the priest shall make an
atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath
sinned in one of these,
and it shall be
forgiven him:
and the
remnant shall be the priest’s, as a meat offering.
In this way the priest will make
atonement for him for any of these sins he has committed,
and he will be
forgiven. The remainder will belong to the priest, like the grain offering.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
If a soul commit a
trespass,
and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his
trespass unto the LORD a ram without
blemish out of the flocks, with thy
estimation by shekels of silver, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, for a
trespass offering:
“If someone acts unfaithfully
and sins
unintentionally against any of the LORD’s holy things, he must bring his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram from the flock, of proper value in silver shekels according to the sanctuary
shekel; it is a guilt offering.
And he shall make
amends for the
harm that he hath done in the holy thing,
and shall add the fifth part
thereto,
and give it unto the priest:
and the priest shall make an
atonement for him with the ram of the
trespass offering,
and it shall be
forgiven him.
Regarding any holy thing he has
harmed, he must make
restitution by adding a fifth of its value to it
and giving it to the priest, who will make
atonement on his behalf with the ram as a guilt offering,
and he will be
forgiven.
And if a soul sin,
and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he
wist it not, yet is he guilty,
and shall bear his iniquity.
If someone sins
and violates any of the LORD’s commandments even though he was unaware, he is guilty
and shall bear his punishment.
And he shall bring a ram without
blemish out of the flock, with thy
estimation, for a
trespass offering, unto the priest:
and the priest shall make an
atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he
erred and wist it not,
and it shall be
forgiven him.
He is to bring to the priest an
unblemished ram of proper value from the flock as a guilt offering. Then the priest will make
atonement on his behalf for the wrong he has committed in ignorance,
and he will be
forgiven.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
If a soul sin,
and commit a
trespass against the LORD,
and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in
fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath
deceived his neighbour;
“If someone sins
and acts unfaithfully against the LORD by
deceiving his
neighbor in regard to a deposit or security entrusted to him or
stolen, or if he extorts his
neighbor Or have found that which was lost,
and lieth concerning it,
and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth,
sinning therein:
or finds lost property and lies about it and swears falsely, or if he commits any such sin that a man might commit—
Then it shall be, because he hath
sinned,
and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath
deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
once he has
sinned and becomes guilty, he must return what he has
stolen or taken by
extortion, or the deposit entrusted to him, or the lost property he found,
Or all that about which he hath
sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal,
and shall add the fifth part more
thereto,
and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his
trespass offering.
or anything else about which he has
sworn falsely. He must make
restitution in full, add a fifth of the value,
and pay it to the owner on the day he acknowledges his guilt.
Then he must bring to the priest his guilt offering to the LORD: an
unblemished ram of proper value from the flock.
And the priest shall make an
atonement for him before the LORD:
and it shall be
forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in
trespassing therein.
In this way the priest will make
atonement for him before the LORD,
and he will be
forgiven for anything he may have done to
incur guilt.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.
“Command Aaron
and his sons that this is the law of the burnt offering: The burnt offering is to remain on the
hearth of the altar all night, until morning,
and the fire must be kept burning on the altar.
And the priest shall put on his linen garment,
and his linen
breeches shall he put upon his flesh,
and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar,
and he shall put them beside the altar.
And the priest shall put on his linen
robe and linen undergarments,
and he shall remove from the altar the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed
and place them beside it.
And he shall put off his garments, and put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp unto a clean place.
Then he must take off his garments, put on other clothes,
and carry the ashes outside the camp to a
ceremonially clean place.
And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out:
and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning,
and lay the burnt offering in order upon it;
and he shall burn
thereon the fat of the peace offerings.
The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it must not be
extinguished. Every morning the priest is to add wood to the fire, arrange the burnt offering on it,
and burn the fat portions of the peace offerings on it.
And this is the law of the meat offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, before the altar.
Now this is the law of the grain offering: Aaron’s sons shall present it before the LORD in front of the altar.
And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the meat offering,
and of the oil thereof,
and all the
frankincense which is upon the meat offering,
and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the
memorial of it, unto the LORD.
The priest is to remove a handful of fine flour
and olive oil, together with all the
frankincense from the grain offering,
and burn the
memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And the remainder thereof shall Aaron
and his sons eat: with
unleavened bread shall it be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation they shall eat it.
Aaron
and his sons are to eat the remainder. It must be eaten without
leaven in a holy place; they are to eat it in the
courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.
It shall not be
baken with
leaven. I have given it unto them for their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as is the sin offering,
and as the
trespass offering.
It must not be
baked with
leaven; I have assigned it as their portion of My offerings made by fire. It is most holy, like the sin offering
and the guilt offering.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
This is the offering of Aaron
and of his sons, which they shall offer unto the LORD in the day when he is
anointed; the tenth part of an
ephah of fine flour for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning,
and half thereof at night.
“This is the offering that Aaron
and his sons must present to the LORD on the day he is
anointed: a tenth of an
ephah of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning
and half in the evening.
In a pan it shall be made with oil;
and when it is
baken, thou shalt bring it in:
and the
baken pieces of the meat offering shalt thou offer for a sweet savour unto the LORD.
It shall be prepared with oil on a
griddle; you are to bring it well-
kneaded and present it as a grain offering broken in pieces, a pleasing
aroma to the LORD.
And the priest of his sons that is
anointed in his
stead shall offer it: it is a statute for ever unto the LORD, it shall be wholly burnt.
The priest, who is one of Aaron’s sons
and will be
anointed to take his place, is to prepare it. As a permanent portion for the LORD, it must be burned completely.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
And the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy.
“Tell Aaron and his sons that this is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before the LORD; it is most holy.
Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy:
and when there is
sprinkled of the blood thereof upon any garment, thou shalt wash that
whereon it was
sprinkled in the holy place.
Anything that touches its flesh will become holy,
and if any of the blood is
spattered on a garment, you must wash it in a holy place.
The clay pot in which the sin offering is boiled must be broken; if it is boiled in a bronze pot, the pot must be
scoured and rinsed with water.
And no sin offering,
whereof any of the blood is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation to
reconcile withal in the holy place, shall be eaten: it shall be burnt in the fire.
But no sin offering may be eaten if its blood has been brought into the Tent of Meeting to make
atonement in the Holy Place; it must be burned.
In the place where they kill the burnt offering shall they kill the
trespass offering:
and the blood thereof shall he
sprinkle round about upon the altar.
The guilt offering must be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered,
and the priest shall
sprinkle its blood on all sides of the altar.
And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof; the
rump,
and the fat that covereth the inwards,
And all the fat from it shall be offered: the fat tail, the fat that covers the
entrails,
And the two
kidneys,
and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks,
and the
caul that is above the liver, with the
kidneys, it shall he take away:
both
kidneys with the fat on them near the loins,
and the
lobe of the liver, which is to be removed with the
kidneys.
And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a
trespass offering.
The priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made by fire to the LORD; it is a guilt offering.
And the priest that offereth any man’s burnt offering, even the priest shall have to himself the skin of the burnt offering which he hath offered.
As for the priest who presents a burnt offering for
anyone, the hide of that offering belongs to him.
And all the meat offering that is
baken in the
oven,
and all that is dressed in the
fryingpan,
and in the pan, shall be the priest’s that offereth it.
Likewise, every grain offering that is
baked in an
oven or
cooked in a pan or on a
griddle belongs to the priest who presents it,
And every meat offering, mingled with oil, and dry, shall all the sons of Aaron have, one as much as another.
and every grain offering, whether dry or mixed with oil, belongs equally to all the sons of Aaron.
And this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he shall offer unto the LORD.
Now this is the law of the peace offering that one may present to the LORD:
And of it he shall offer one out of the whole
oblation for an
heave offering unto the LORD,
and it shall be the priest’s that sprinkleth the blood of the peace offerings.
From the cakes he must present one portion of each offering as a contribution to the LORD. It belongs to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offering.
And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for
thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered; he shall not leave any of it until the morning.
The meat of the sacrifice of his peace offering of
thanksgiving must be eaten on the day he offers it; none of it may be left until morning.
But if the sacrifice of his offering be a
vow, or a voluntary offering, it shall be eaten the same day that he offereth his sacrifice:
and on the
morrow also the remainder of it shall be eaten:
If, however, the sacrifice he offers is a
vow or a
freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day he presents his sacrifice, but the remainder may be eaten on the next day.
And if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings be eaten at all on the third day, it shall not be accepted, neither shall it be imputed unto him that offereth it: it shall be an
abomination,
and the soul that eateth of it shall bear his iniquity.
If any of the meat from his peace offering is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted. It will not be credited to the one who presented it; it shall be an
abomination,
and the one who eats of it shall bear his iniquity.
And the flesh that toucheth any unclean thing shall not be eaten; it shall be burnt with fire: and as for the flesh, all that be clean shall eat thereof.
Meat that touches anything unclean must not be eaten; it is to be burned up. As for any other meat,
anyone who is
ceremonially clean may eat it.
Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any
abominable unclean thing,
and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which
pertain unto the LORD, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
If one touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, an unclean animal, or any unclean,
detestable thing,
and then eats any of the meat of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, that person must be cut off from his people.”
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Then the LORD said to Moses,
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat.
“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘You are not to eat any of the fat of an ox, a sheep, or a goat.
And the fat of the beast that dieth of itself,
and the fat of that which is
torn with beasts, may be used in any other use: but ye shall in no wise eat of it.
The fat of an animal found dead or
mauled by wild beasts may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it.
