And when thy son asketh thee in time to
come, saying, What mean the
testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath
commanded you?
In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?”
And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day.
And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness.”
And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt
smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor
shew mercy unto them:
and when the LORD your God has delivered them over to you to defeat them, then you must
devote them to
complete destruction. Make no treaty with them and show them no mercy.
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps His covenant of loving devotion for a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
So keep the commandments and statutes and ordinances that I am giving you to follow this day.
Wherefore it shall
come to pass, if ye
hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he
sware unto thy fathers:
If you
listen to these ordinances and keep them carefully, then the LORD your God will keep His covenant and the loving devotion that He
swore to your fathers.
All the
commandments which I
command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD
sware unto your fathers.
You must carefully follow every
commandment I am giving you
today, so that you may live and multiply, and enter and possess the land that the LORD
swore to give your fathers.
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
Remember that these forty years the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep His commandments.
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with
manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man
doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD
doth man live.
He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you
manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that
comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, walking in His ways and fearing Him.
Beware that thou
forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his
commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I
command thee this day:
Be careful not to
forget the LORD your God by failing to keep His
commandments and ordinances and statutes, which I am giving you this day.
And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I
commanded them; they have made them a
molten image.
And the LORD said to me, “Get up and go down from here at once, for your people, whom you brought out of Egypt, have corrupted themselves. How quickly they have turned aside from the way that I
commanded them! They have made for themselves a
molten image.”
And I looked, and, behold, ye had
sinned against the LORD your God, and had made you a
molten calf: ye had turned aside quickly out of the way which the LORD had
commanded you.
And I saw how you had
sinned against the LORD your God; you had made for
yourselves a
molten calf. You had turned aside quickly from the way that the LORD had
commanded you.
And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye
sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to
provoke him to anger.
Then I fell down before the LORD for forty days and forty nights, as I had done the first time. I did not eat bread or drink water because of all the sin you had
committed in doing what was evil in the sight of the LORD and
provoking Him to anger.
Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the
commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor
hearkened to his voice.
And when the LORD sent you out from Kadesh-barnea, He said, “Go up and possess the land that I have given you.” But you rebelled against the command of the LORD your God. You neither believed Him nor obeyed Him.
At that time the LORD said unto me,
Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and
come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood.
At that time the LORD said to me, “
Chisel out two stone tablets like the originals,
come up to Me on the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me.
And the LORD wrote on the tablets what had been written previously, the Ten Commandments that He had spoken to you on the mountain out of the fire on the day of the assembly. The LORD gave them to me,
And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me.
and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made, as the LORD had commanded me; and there they have remained.
To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD that I am giving you this day for your own good?
Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his
commandments,
alway.
You shall therefore love the LORD your God and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their
chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
what He did to the Egyptian army and horses and
chariots when He made the waters of the Red Sea
engulf them as they pursued you, and how He destroyed them
completely, even to this day;
Therefore shall ye keep all the
commandments which I
command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land,
whither ye go to possess it;
You shall therefore keep every
commandment I am giving you
today, so that you may have the strength to go in and possess the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
For the land,
whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
For the land that you are entering to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have
come, where you
sowed your seed and
irrigated on foot, like a vegetable garden.
And it shall
come to pass, if ye shall
hearken diligently unto my
commandments which I
command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
So if you carefully obey the
commandments I am giving you
today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,
For if ye shall
diligently keep all these
commandments which I
command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to
cleave unto him;
For if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you to follow—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—
A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
a blessing if you obey the
commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you
today,
And a
curse, if ye will not obey the
commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I
command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
but a
curse if you disobey the
commandments of the LORD your God and turn aside from the path I
command you
today by following other gods, which you have not known.
And it shall
come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land
whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount
Gerizim, and the
curse upon mount
Ebal.
When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to
proclaim the blessing on Mount
Gerizim and the
curse on Mount
Ebal.
Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
Destroy
completely all the places where the nations you are dispossessing have served their gods—
atop the high mountains, on the hills, and under every green tree.
But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his
habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt
come:
Instead, you must seek the place the LORD your God will choose from among all your tribes to establish as a dwelling for His Name, and there you must go.
For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.
For you have not yet come to the resting place and the inheritance that the LORD your God is giving you.
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I
command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your
tithes, and the
heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye
vow unto the LORD:
then the LORD your God will choose a dwelling for His Name. And there you are to bring everything I
command you: your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your
tithes and special gifts, and all the choice offerings you
vow to the LORD.
But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
you must offer them only in the place the LORD will choose in one of your
tribal territories, and there you shall do all that I
command you.
If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy
herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have
commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates
whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
If the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His Name is too far from you, then you may slaughter any of the
herd or flock He has given you, as I have
commanded you, and you may eat it within your gates whenever you want.
Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.
Be careful to obey all these things I command you, so that it may always go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the LORD your God.
What thing
soever I
command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add
thereto, nor diminish from it.
See that you do everything I
command you; do not add to it or
subtract from it.
And the sign or the wonder
come to pass,
whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
and if the sign or wonder he has spoken to you comes about, but he says, “Let us follow other gods (which you have not known) and let us worship them,”
Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his
commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and
cleave unto him.
You are to follow the LORD your God and fear Him. Keep His
commandments and
listen to His voice; serve Him and hold fast to Him.
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of
bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God
commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Such a prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he has advocated rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way in which the LORD your God has
commanded you to walk. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
Then shalt thou
enquire, and make search, and ask
diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such
abomination is wrought among you;
And thou shalt gather all the
spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the
spoil thereof every
whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an
heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
And you are to gather all its
plunder in the middle of the public square, and
completely burn the city and all its
plunder as a whole burnt offering to the LORD your God. The city must remain a
mound of ruins
forever, never to be rebuilt.
And there shall
cleave nought of the
cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and
shew thee mercy, and have
compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath
sworn unto thy fathers;
Nothing devoted to destruction shall
cling to your hands, so that the LORD will turn from His fierce anger, grant you mercy, show you
compassion, and multiply you as He
swore to your fathers,
When thou shalt
hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his
commandments which I
command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
because you obey the LORD your God, keeping all His
commandments I am giving you
today and doing what is right in the eyes of the LORD your God.
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that
chew the
cud, or of them that divide the
cloven hoof; as the
camel, and the
hare, and the
coney: for they
chew the
cud, but divide not the
hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
But of those that
chew the
cud or have a
completely divided
hoof, you are not to eat the following: the
camel, the
rabbit, or the rock
badger.
And the
Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall
come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may
bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
Then the
Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may
come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will
bless you in all the work of your hands.
Only if thou carefully
hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these
commandments which I
command thee this day.
if only you obey the LORD your God and are careful to follow all these
commandments I am giving you
today.
For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I
command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy
needy, in thy land.
For there will never cease to be poor in the land; that is why I am
commanding you to open wide your hand to your brother and to the poor and
needy in your land.
And thou shalt remember that thou
wast a
bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I
command thee this thing to day.
Remember that you were slaves in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you; that is why I am giving you this
command today.
You must set apart to the LORD your God every
firstborn male produced by your herds and flocks. You are not to put the
firstborn of your oxen to work, nor are you to
shear the
firstborn of your flock.
Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall
bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely
rejoice.
For seven days you shall
celebrate a feast to the LORD your God in the place He will choose, because the LORD your God will
bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that your joy will be
complete.
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
and going to worship other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or moon or any of the host of heaven—which I have forbidden—
Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
you must bring out to your gates the man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you must stone that person to death.
And thou shalt
come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and
enquire; and they shall
shew thee the sentence of judgment:
You are to go to the
Levitical priests and to the judge who presides at that time. Inquire of them, and they will give you a
verdict in the case.
When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you and have taken possession of it and settled in it, and you say, “Let us set a king over us like all the nations around us,”
That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the
commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may
prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
Then his heart will not be
exalted above his countrymen, and he will not turn aside from the
commandment, to the right or to the left, in order that he and his sons may reign many years over his kingdom in Israel.
And if a
Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he
sojourned, and
come with all the desire of his mind unto the place which the LORD shall choose;
Now if a
Levite moves from any town of residence throughout Israel and
comes in all earnestness to the place the LORD will choose,
They shall have like portions to eat, beside that which
cometh of the sale of his
patrimony.
They shall eat equal portions, even though he has received money from the sale of his father’s estate.
When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not
imitate the
detestable ways of the nations there.
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him.
And it shall
come to pass, that
whosoever will not
hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
And I will hold accountable
anyone who does not
listen to My words that the prophet speaks in My name.
But the prophet, which shall
presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not
commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
But if any prophet
dares to speak a message in My name that I have not
commanded him to speak, or to speak in the name of other gods, that prophet must be put to death.”
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor
come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it
presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD and the message does not
come to pass or
come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. The prophet has spoken
presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.
Wherefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt separate three cities for thee.
This is why I am
commanding you to set apart for
yourselves three cities.
If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:
and if you carefully keep all these
commandments I am giving you
today, loving the LORD your God and walking in His ways at all times, then you are to add three more cities to these three.
One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
A
lone witness is not sufficient to establish any
wrongdoing or sin against a man, regardless of what
offense he may have
committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.
Then the rest of the people will hear and be afraid, and they will never again do anything so evil among you.
And it shall be, when ye are
come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
When you are about to go into battle, the priest is to come forward and address the army,
And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people, that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people.
When the officers have finished addressing the army, they are to
appoint commanders to lead it.
When thou
comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then
proclaim peace unto it.
When you approach a city to fight against it, you are to make an offer of peace.
Then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:
your elders and judges must
come out and measure the distance from the
victim to the
neighboring cities.
And the priests the sons of Levi shall
come near; for them the LORD thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to
bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:
And the priests, the sons of Levi, shall
come forward, for the LORD your God has chosen them to serve Him and
pronounce blessings in His name and to give a ruling in every dispute and case of
assault.
And if a man have
committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou
hang him on a tree:
If a man has
committed a sin worthy of death, and he is executed, and you
hang his body on a tree,
And if thy brother be not
nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.
If your brother does not live near you, or if you do not know who he is, you are to take the animal home to remain with you until your brother comes seeking it; then you can return it to him.
If a bird’s nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the
dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the
dam with the young:
If you come across a bird’s nest with chicks or eggs, either in a tree or on the ground along the road, and the mother is sitting on the chicks or eggs, you must not take the mother along with the young.
If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and
hate her,
Suppose a man marries a woman, has relations with her, and
comes to
hate her,
And the
damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;
and say to the elders, “I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he has
come to
hate her.
Then they shall bring out the
damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the
whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house, and there the men of her city will stone her to death. For she has
committed an
outrage in Israel by being
promiscuous in her father’s house. So you must
purge the evil from among you.
But unto the
damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the
damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
Do nothing to the young woman, because she has
committed no sin worthy of death. This case is just like one in which a man attacks his
neighbor and murders him.
If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:
If any man among you becomes unclean because of a
nocturnal emission, he must leave the camp and stay outside.
But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.
When evening approaches, he must wash with water, and when the sun sets he may return to the camp.
And thou shalt have a
paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou
wilt ease
thyself abroad, thou shalt
dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which
cometh from thee:
That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a
freewill offering, according as thou hast
vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
Be careful to follow through on what
comes from your lips, because you have freely
vowed to the LORD your God with your own mouth.
When thou
comest into thy neighbour’s
vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.
When you enter your
neighbor’s
vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, but you must not put any in your
basket.
When thou
comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest
pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a
sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.
When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it
come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of
divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
If a man marries a woman, but she becomes displeasing to him because he finds some
indecency in her, he may write her a
certificate of
divorce, hand it to her, and send her away from his house.
Take
heed in the plague of
leprosy, that thou observe
diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I
commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.
Remember what the LORD thy God did unto
Miriam by the way, after that ye were
come forth out of Egypt.
Remember what the LORD your God did to
Miriam on the journey after you came out of Egypt.
But thou shalt remember that thou
wast a
bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I
command thee to do this thing.
Remember that you were slaves in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you from that place. Therefore I am commanding you to do this.
And thou shalt remember that thou
wast a
bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I
command thee to do this thing.
Remember that you were slaves in the land of Egypt. Therefore I am commanding you to do this.
If there be a controversy between men, and they
come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall
justify the righteous, and
condemn the wicked.
If there is a dispute between men, they are to go to court to be judged, so that the innocent may be
acquitted and the guilty condemned.
Then shall his brother’s wife
come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his
shoe from off his foot, and
spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
his brother’s widow shall go up to him in the presence of the elders, remove his
sandal,
spit in his face, and declare, “This is what is done to the man who will not maintain his brother’s line.”
Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
Remember what the
Amalekites did to you along your way from Egypt,
And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein;
When you enter the land that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you take possession of it and settle in it,
And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I
profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am
come unto the country which the LORD
sware unto our fathers for to give us.
to the priest who is serving at that time, and say to him, “I declare
today to the LORD your God that I have entered the land that the LORD
swore to our fathers to give us.”
Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the
hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the
Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy
commandments which thou hast
commanded me: I have not
transgressed thy
commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
Then you shall declare in the presence of the LORD your God, “I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the
Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, according to all the
commandments You have given me. I have not
transgressed or forgotten Your
commandments.
I have not eaten thereof in my
mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have
hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast
commanded me.
I have not eaten any of the sacred portion while in
mourning, or removed any of it while unclean, or offered any of it for the dead. I have obeyed the LORD my God; I have done everything You
commanded me.
This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
The LORD your God commands you this day to follow these statutes and ordinances. You must be careful to follow them with all your heart and with all your soul.
Thou hast
avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his
commandments, and his judgments, and to
hearken unto his voice:
Today you have proclaimed that the LORD is your God and that you will walk in His ways, keep His statutes and
commandments and ordinances, and
listen to His voice.
